Hotel Description
Guest Rooms: This is a unique property within restored authentic Kasbah-like grounds, being a renovated 19th century village with antique traditional-style, period architecture and details. Guest rooms are bungalow-style and are tastefully furnished in bedouin-style with local crafts and provide excellent amenities. Stone terraces and private nooks provide spectacular views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, while stone pathways weave under archways and through the tiered village to a Turkish bath, pool, recreation room, restaurant, bar, bakery or souk
Location: The hotel is located only 5 miles from Petra, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world. Taybet Zaman is a restored bedouin village high on a hill overlooking desert landscapes. Stone homes are connected by stone archways, walls, terraces and roads that wind through the complex in a maze-like manner. Near the restaurant is the souk, an assortment of high quality shops where local artisans can be observed at work crafting pottery, clothing, hand-blown glass or jewelry.
Restaurants: The hotel has two restaurants located on the premises. The Sahtain Snack Bar provides lunch and lounge food, while the Sahtain Restaurant specializes in regional cuisine and atmosphere. Sahtain serves all three meals buffet style in an intimate, exotic Arabian atmosphere with beautiful traditional furnishings. Menu offers a taste of traditional Arabic mezzehs (appetizers) such as humus, tabbouleh, tahini, and main courses of kebabs, mensaf, musakhan and kofta.
