DAY 1, Saturday - Depart the USA
Depart the USA to Germany. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey
DAY 2, Sunday - Arrive in Munich
Arrive in Munich and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink and orientation meeting at your hotel

DAY 3, Monday - Munich
This morning, tour Munich and view the major sights of the city, in particular, Nymphenburg Palace, former summer palace of the Wittlesbach dynasty. Continue to the Marienplatz to see the Glockenspiel clock with its playful, mechanical figures

DAY 4, Tuesday - Linderhof Castle, Oberammergau, Arrive Salzburg
This morning, travel to the Bavarian Alps. Visit the beautifully decorated Linderhof Castle, built by “Mad” King Ludwig II. Proceed via the Ettal Monastery to the charming village of Oberammergau, world-famous for its Passion Plays and richly painted homes. Enjoy free time to explore the town before continuing to Salzburg, the birthplace of Mozart and famous cultural setting for the Sound of Music. This evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel

DAY 5, Wednesday - Salzburg, Arrive Nuremberg
This morning's sightseeing includes a guided walking city tour of Salzburg where you will view such sights as the cathedral and Getreidegasse and views of the mighty 11th-century Hohensalzburg fortress. Enjoy time to explore Salzburg's Christmas Market before departing for Nuremberg. With nearly 180 wooden stalls richly decorated with traditional wares, the market has earned the colorful title "Little Town from Wood and Cloth." Enjoy free time to browse the market stalls for that special holiday gift or perhaps sample a mug of mulled wine and some local sausage

DAY 6, Thursday - Nuremberg City Tour
This morning, enjoy a tour of Nuremberg that includes a drive throughout this famous walled city, including the medieval square, the Church of Our Lady, and several World War II memorial sights and Rally Grounds along the way

DAY 7, Friday - Leipzig, Arrive Berlin
Travel through the former East Germany to Leipzig, which has held a traditional Christmas Market since 1767. View the medieval market square and Thomas Church, the famous church where Martin Luther lectured, Mozart played the organ, and Richard Wagner was baptized. This afternoon, drive through the German countryside to the capital city of Berlin

DAY 8, Saturday - Berlin
This morning, enjoy a guided tour of Berlin. After a short drive, arrive in the town of Dachau, where the Nazis built their first concentration camp in 1933. This camp served as the model for all of their later concentration and extermination camps. After a general introduction there will be time to visit the museum and watch a film about the days when the camp was in use.

Today, journey to Rothenburg, one of the best preserved medieval cities along the Romantic Road. Drive from Nuremberg to Rothenburg, stopping in the main square for an orientation. Here, see the famous Church of St. Jacob and the richly decorated Patrician Houses. Listen for the Town Hall Clock, which chimes once a day to commemorate the 30 Years War. Amid this fairy tale town that has gone untouched since the 1400s, enjoy free time to shop in the nearby Christmas Market, where prized cuckoo clocks, steins, and delightful ornaments can be found.
