DAY 1, Monday - Depart the USA for San Jose
Depart the USA for Costa Rica. Arrive in San Jose and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure

DAY 2, Tuesday - Travel to Tortuguero
Depart early this morning for the Caribbean Coast. Make a brief stop for breakfast at a local restaurant. En route enjoy the scenery and learn about Costa Rica's banana industry as you drive along the banana processing and packaging plant. Afterward, continue to the nearby port to board a motor launch, which will travel along canals through the heart of the Costa Rican jungle to Tortuguero. Enjoy lunch on arrival, and afterwards, visit the Tortuguero Village and Turtle Museum

DAY 3, Wednesday - Full Day in Tortuguero
This morning, acquaint yourself with the many tree and insect species of Costa Rica on an easy hike through trails in the nearby rainforest. In the afternoon, enjoy a boat tour along the canals, where you are likely to see turtles, caimans, monkeys, and many tropical birds thriving in the wild. Enjoy the remainder of the day at leisure

DAY 4, Thursday - Transfer back to San Jose by Motor Launch
This morning, travel by motor launch and motor coach to your hotel in San Jose. Enjoy the balance of the day and evening at leisure. This evening, enjoy a welcome drink and orientation with your tour manager

DAY 5, Friday - Travel to Arenal
Today, enjoy a brief panoramic tour of San Jose, with sights of the city including historical & government buildings and the public park La Sabana. Next, depart for Arenal, enjoying the views of coffee and sugarcane plantations along the way. Enroute stop in Sarchi, an artisan town, where traditional colorful oxcarts and souvenirs can be found. If time permits there may be a visit to a local school on the way to Arenal. Later this evening after checking into your hotel, join the group for dinner at a local restaurant in Arenal

DAY 6, Saturday - Full Day in Arenal
Enjoy a full day at leisure in Arenal, famous for the Arenal Volcano. As Costa Rica's youngest volcano, it gained international notoriety in 1968 for its sudden eruption. Perhaps spend the day on the optional full day Cano Negro Boat Tour to learn more about the flora and fauna that inhabit the area. Afterwards, consider spending the evening relaxing in one of the local hot springs

DAY 7, Sunday - Travel to Monteverde
In the morning, embark on a brisk 2 mile walking tour of the Las Coladas trail in Arenal National Park to learn more about the flora & fauna while enjoying scenic views of the volcano. At the end of the trail, you may choose to participate in a rugged hike over the ancient lava rocks before continuing to Monteverde. Lunch en route to Monteverde, depending on time of arrival your guide will take you on a walk around town to familiarize yourself with the surroundings. Have the option to be ushered back into town for a dinner at your choice of local restaurants

DAY 8, Monday - Full Day in Monteverde
Enjoy this morning at leisure, or choose to participate in one of our optional tours. This stunning Cloud Forest boasts an extraordinarily diverse ecosystem, being home to 120 species of reptiles and amphibians, 130 species of mammals, and an astounding 500 species of birds, not to mention more than 3,000 species of plants. This afternoon enjoy a tour of a traditional Costa Rican coffee farm. Learn about how one of Costa Rica's top exports is grown in this tropical region and its importance in the socioeconomic development of the country Tonight, dine at a local Monteverde restaurant

DAY 9, Tuesday - Travel to Manuel Antonio
Today, depart Monteverde and travel along the Pacific Coast to Manuel Antonio, a coastal city located between the beach and the rainforest. En route, stop in Las Molas for a chance to shop and purchase some local souvenirs. Continue on to the town of Jaco, one of the most popular towns in Costa Rica for surfing. Spend some time here sightseeing on your own and perhaps sample some of the local cuisine for lunch. Afterwards, continue on to Manuel Antonio and arrive at your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure

DAY 10, Wednesday - Manuel Antonio National Park Tour
Today, enjoy a tour of Manuel Antonio National Park, one of Costa Rica's most visited conservation areas. Your tour manager will take you through this tropical paradise where you will have the opportunity to witness a variety of the biodiversity the park has to offer, including monkeys, lizards, birds, sloths, and other animals on your tour

DAY 11, Thursday - Full Day in Manuel Antonio
Full day at leisure in Manuel Antonio to enjoy the beach and your surroundings, or enjoy the area's abundant wildlife and foliage. Consider joining the optional catamaran cruise to spend a relaxing morning sailing along the Costa Rican coast. Tonight, enjoy a meal at one of the most popular restaurants in Manuel Antonio

EcoTermales Hot Springs with dinner

Spend this evening relaxing in the renowned Hot Springs of Arenal. The family owned EcoTermales has four different pools ranging in temperature from 91 to 105 degrees Fahrenheit, surrounded by the local flora of the forest. Private and secluded, these hot springs are a great way to wind down after a long day of sightseeing. While there, enjoy an included home cooked traditional Costa Rican dinner.

Full Day Cano Negro Boat Tour

Day #6 01 Nov 2012 - 01 Nov 2014         $60
Enjoy the peaceful sights and the sounds of the rain forest as you quietly float down the Rio Frio near the Nicaraguan border. A professional guide will share educational and interesting facts about the plants and animals encountered on the float. This area is abundant with bird species, including the Snake-Bird, Wood Storks, and Olivaceous Cormorants,. Keep an eye out for the various monkey species, sloths, turtles, and caimans that live along the rivers banks. This tour also includes a typical Costa Rican lunch, along with regional fruit, juices, and coffee. Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel.

This tour is approximately a 1.5 hour drive from the hotel. Please bring sunscreen, hat, and light clothes.

Selvatura Canopy Tour

Join this exciting tour to see the rainforest in a whole new way. Cross through the unique Cloud Forest's canopy while suspended from a high weight capacity zipline cable, maneuvering between the 15 platforms and 12 cables that span over 2 miles in length, making this extreme adventure one of the longest Zipline tours in the country.

It is recommended that you wear hiking boots for this activity as you will be walking some distance through the forest between the Zipline cables. For some, this activity may be considered very strenuous and people with difficulty breathing, heart or other medical conditions, should consider not to choose this optional tour.

Approximate tour duration is 2.5-3 hours.

Selvatura Hanging Bridges Tour

Enjoy a walk among the treetops on this 1.9 mile trail, which boasts 8 different bridges at heights ranging from 36 to 180 feet. The Selvatura Hanging Bridges are the longest and the strongest bridge system in the country. The hanging bridges give you the unique opportunity to see plants and animals not visible from the ground.

It is recommended that you wear hiking boots for this activity. For some, this activity may be considered strenuous and people with difficulty breathing, heart or other medical conditions, should consider not to choose this optional tour.

Manuel Antonio Catamaran Cruise

Day #10 12 Nov 2013 - 01 Nov 2014         $70
This morning, transfer to the Quepos dock where you will board your catamaran, the newest and largest in the country. The tour starts in Quepos at the Modern Marina Pez Vela, where this enormous catamaran is already warming up with live music, food and cold drinks. Head South around the coast and see Manuel Antonio National Park for a picturesque view of wildlife and vegetation. Feel free to relax in one of 2 Jacuzzis while enjoying the on board tropical bar and a delicious Costa Rican lunch. Also there is plenty of fun to be had on the two giant trampolines or race down the water cross slides from the second story of the catamaran. You will pass by panoramas adorned with islands, cliffs and rock formations. Drop anchor at Bisanz beach where you will have the opportunity to snorkel and enjoy sightings of colorful tropical fish in their natural habitat. A light lunch and drinks are included.

Suggested items to bring: sandals, sunblock, towel, swimsuit, and Dramamine (if prone to seasickness).

This tour may run in the afternoon depending upon the tides.
