    DAY 1, Sunday or Monday - Depart the USA
    Depart the USA for France. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey

    DAY 2, Monday or Tuesday - Arrive in Paris
    Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel. Spend the remainder of the day at leisure exploring the City of Lights
    Optional: Illuminated Paris with Dinner
    Overnight: Paris

    DAY 3, Tuesday or Wednesday - Full Day in Paris
    Today enjoy a full day at leisure in Paris. Perhaps take a stroll along the Champs Elysées to the Arc de Triomphe. View the Eiffel Tower, Cathedral of Notre Dame, Napoleon's Tomb, the Latin Quarter, and the lively Opera district
    Overnight: Paris
    Meals: Breakfast

    DAY 4, Wednesday or Thursday - Full day in Paris
    Spend the full day at leisure in Paris. Choose to visit the beautiful works of art in the Louvre museum, or spend the day in the many cafés and bistros that define Parisian cuisine

    DAY 5 Thursday or Friday - Arrive in Lyon
    Transfer on your own to the train station where you will depart Paris for Lyon. Upon arrival in Lyon, transfer independently to the port. Embarkation begins at 4 pm. Tonight, enjoy a gala welcome cocktail & dinner on board as you set sail for Macon

    DAY 6, Friday or Saturday - Full Day in Macon
    In the morning arrive to Macon, best known for its pastel buildings and local wine. Your tour will take you throughout the Beaujolais and Mâconnais wine regions, with an opportunity for wine tasting as you go. A highlight of the excursion is a visit to the Georges Duboeuf's Hameau du Vin Museum, which houses several exhibitions featuring the wine making techniques of Beaujolais. Next visit the Abbey of Cluny in Burgundy, which once served as the center of the major monastic movement in the Middle Ages. Its church was the largest Christian building in the world until St. Peter's Basilica was rebuilt in Rome in the 16th century. Set sail in the evening for Chalon sur Saone at 9:30 pm

    DAY 7, Saturday or Sunday - Morning in Chalon sur Saone
    Arrive to Chalon sur Saone at 8:00 am. Depart the ship and enjoy a scenic drive along France's Burgundy wine route through Pommard, Volnay and Meursault. Arrive in Beaune, the wine capital of Burgundy, for a guided tour of the beautiful Hôtel Dieu, founded as a hospital in 1443. Today the Hôtel Dieu's establishments include its museum, three courtyards, outbuildings, 15th century bastion and large cellars. The beauty of the interiors is equal to that of the exterior. Leave Chalon sur Saone and drive to Brançion to visit this famous medieval village. Your tour will continue to the Castle of Cormatin. Inside, the rich and colorful interior reflects the fashion in France, and particularly Paris, during the reign of Louis XIII

    DAY 8, Sunday or Monday- Full Day in Lyon
    Lyon not only marks the meeting of the Saone and Rhône Rivers, but it is also the gastronomic capital of France. A city full of rich ancient history, Lyon has many Roman ruins and early Christian sites. Your morning tour includes a stunning panoramic view of the entire city from the Basilique Notre Dame de Fourviere. You will also have time to explore the cobbled streets and Renaissance charm of Vieux Lyon. At 4 pm set sail for Avignon

    DAY 9, Monday or Tuesday - Arrive in Avignon
    Enjoy time in the Avignon with a guided walking tour. Avignon is known as the "City of Popes," due to the role the city played in the Avignon conspiracy of the 14th century, when a pope abandoned Rome and fled here. Avignon's lavish Palais des Papes (Palace of the Popes) was considered the center of the Christian world during the 14th century. You will also have the opportunity to view the Pont d'Avignon, a ruined 12th-century bridge that once spanned the Rhône

    Day 10, Tuesday or Wednesday - Morning in Avignon, Evening in Arles
    This morning visit the Pont du Gard, the greatest surviving stretch of aqueduct built by the Romans in the middle of the first century to supply fresh water to the city of Nimes. Continue onto the town of Uzès, located near the start of the aqueduct. Enjoy the view of the medieval towers, including the famous Tour Fenestrelle, that rise above the tiled roofs and narrow lanes of Renaissance and Neoclassical houses. In the afternoon, you have a choice to enjoy a tour of Nimes, a city that dates back to the Roman Empire or a visit to the Camargue Nature Reserve which is home to an astonishing range of wildlife, including hundreds of species of birds

    DAY 11, Wednesday or Thursday - Daylight Sailing
    This morning you will embark on an excursion to the Ardeche Valley. Enjoy the sight of the spectacular limestone cliffs that tower up to 1,000 feet above the river below. You will also have the opportunity to view the Pont D'Arc, the famous stone arch. From here, the itinerary follows the Gorge Trail from where you can see the harmonious meanders of the river. Along the way, you’ll discover the “Belvédère du Colombier” and the “Ranc pointu” viewpoints. Located on a high cliff, they offer a striking view of the gorges: St Martin d’Ardèche, le Teil, Rochemaure and le Pouzin. This evening, enjoy the Captain's Gala Dinner on board
