Gate 1 Unveils Discovery Tours - Small Groups for Less!
Thursday, July 19, 2012
Gate 1 Travel is responding to the high demand for small-group tours with its introduction of Discovery Tours by Gate 1. The new company will limit its group sizes to 18 maximum, giving it an edge in a travel market that typically caps group sizes at 24.
Discovery Tours is premiering its small group line with nine itineraries for 2013 - to China, Southeast Asia, Nepal, southern Africa, Morocco, Turkey, Italy, Peru, and Ireland. Each trip features unique cultural offerings and active outdoor experiences and visits locales far from the typical tourist circuit. They also give travelers intimate access to day-to-day life, featuring meals in the homes of locals, visits to schools, stops at artisans' shops, and other up-close cultural encounters.
Best of all, the prices of Discovery Tours are friendly to travel budgets, upholding Gate 1's commitment to quality and value. Prices come in below the average small group tour, even though itineraries include full days of touring, cultural activities, the majority of meals, and accommodations that impart cultural character.

18 Day New Zealand & Australia with Cairns
This was another great Gate 1 trip! We have toured both New Zealand and Australia on our own several times in the past so I was interested in the tour managers, hotels, and locations Gate 1 selected. The hotels were very good and located conveniently to attractions and points of interest. The staffs in the hotels were so friendly and anxious to please.
The tour managers in both countries (Angela in New Zealand and Dana in Australia) were wonderful. They shared their knowledge of the countries and history and made sure all passengers had the information needed to participate in the activities we wanted for our leisure time. New Zealand is so incredibly beautiful and one of my favorite places to visit. The penguins at Phillip Island and the Great Barrier Reef are certain to be among the highlights for all visitors. Thanks for putting together a great itinerary!
