	10 Day Greek Islander Basic, October 2010 Everyone had a good time. The Stanley Hotel, while priced right, definitely needs some upgrading like paint and new carpet. But the good thing is that there are two ATM's just out of the door and the subway entrance is right on the corner as well a a taxi stand, so you can get to the Plaka in 10 minutes and three subway stops. The staff and food were good and the rooftop bar had a great view of the Parthenon. Our Athens rep was very good and helpful. The hotel in Mykonos, the Despotiko, was very nice. Clean and in a good location (even if you have a little uphill walk to get there from the main part of town). The hotel in Santorini, Hermes, was excellent. Especially good location if you go there in the summer and want to go to Kamari beach. The front desk personnel were very good. The ferry rides were good and I would definitely recommend taking the flight back to Athens from Santorini like we did. We got back in time to have a good half day touring the Parthenon. My overall impression of the Greek Islands are that I think, unless you go there in the summer to enjoy the beaches, the best way to see them would be on a cruise. Other than the main towns, there was not much to see. I think a cruise stop would be sufficient. I know we were traveling at seasons end so many stores were closed or closing on the islands. One gelato shop gave all ten of us free gelato because it was his last day. Everyone in our group of 10 thought the package price was excellent and were happy with the accommodations and transfers. 	Greece & Turkey Independent Vacation, october 2010 Thanks to Gate 1 my family and I had an extraordinary time in Greece and Istanbul. The hotels were great and in good locations. Additionally, I did want to particularly express our delight with the tour companies you arranged and particularly the tour guide in Istanbul. Fabulous! It was truly a "once in a lifetime" trip we cherished and one we'll be talking about with friends/family for a long time. Perhaps best of all I knocked off 3 items from my personal "bucket list" and a few from the infamous "1000 places to see before you die" book. Thanks again for the great service! -- Jan M. 	12 Day Four Countries with 6 Day Mediterranean Cruise, October 2010 We had an exhausting but fabulous trip. Gate 1 provided a lot of "bang for the buck," on our adventure which enabled us to see and do things we never expected we would be able to do for this price. I also was impressed with how well Gate 1 looked after us at the airport, getting us to our hotel, and while we were on our cruise. Also, the tour guides provided were great. 	8 Day Classic Greece, September 2010 We had a wonderful time! Thanks so much for recommending that we get the package that transported us from plane/ferry to the hotels and back - having someone there with a Gate 1 sign made it a very easy trip. I am a retired history teacher, and this trip was history heaven for me. Our guide was excellent - she would have aced my Western Civilization exams! 	10 Day Greek Islander on Sale: Santorini, Mykonos & Athens, September 2010 Wonderful! We met some really great people, explored Santorini by ATV, rented a car in Mykonos and covered a lot of ground there too! Weather was perfect. My husband swam for an hour in the Aegean every day we were in Mykonos. Had some delicious meals. Didn't really care for Athens and all the hustle and bustle after our very relaxing island stays. 	13 Day Greek Islander on Sale with Classic Greece, September 2010 Me & my sister had a great time in Greece, thanks to Gate 1 Travel. The trip was well organized. We didn't have to worry where to stay & who will guide us. From arrival to departure everything was taken care of. The staff of Gate 1 Travel were all very good & helpful but of course there is always somebody or some people who do outstanding jobs, like Lilliana & driver Aleks, who took care of us in the 4-day Classical Greece tour, Dimos who assisted us when we left for Santorini, Kosta who assisted us in Santorini, Nikos who met us at the Stanley hotel on our arrival & gave us instructions on where to go & what places to avoid in the city .They were all great. Please extend our sincere thanks to them for a job well done. Also, I would like to give special thanks to Effie who works at Hermes hotel in Santorini for being so accommodating & friendly. Of all the hotels we stayed, Hermes hotel was the best. The staff are nice, the place is close to everything (walking distance), & it has a good restaurant. 	11 Day Aegean Sea with 3 Day Cruise, September 2010 In one word "AMAZING"!!!! First off we were 6 woman traveling together. The ship was actually larger then I had expected even though my room was tiny (but I had just gotten off the Queen Mary II and was staying in a suite the week before). Must say, the food was better on Aquamarine then the Cunard lines. I cannot believe how much ground we covered. On board, our Gate I person was Panos, and he was the best. He thought of everything we might need to know and always had a smile and always made you laugh. Our shore excursion guides were very knowledgeable and spoke English well. Everything went to quick. Kassandra was our bus tour guide. What a magnificent job she did. Always bubbly and excited about what she spoke about, a true passion for Greece. We were 24 on the bus tour and of course all became friends before departing and going our separate ways, this also happened when we went to Egypt. We will be traveling Gate 1 again in 2012. 	8 Day Classic Greece, September 2010 It was quite hectic but very enjoyable. Next will be Egypt and Africa. The guide in Turkey, Salih, is a wonderful and learned person and very professional. 	10 Day Greek Islander on Sale: Mykonos, Santorini & Athens, September 2010 Absolutely Wonderful !!! It was nice to be greeted by a Gate 1 agent at each stop, especially being jet lagged in the beginning. Diana in Mykonos, Kostos in Santorini and especially Dimos in Athens. He was full of knowledge and was very helpful. Our driver, Petros, was also very good. Too much to do, so little time. But it was a good way to get our feet wet. 	10 Day Greek Islander on Sale: Santorini, Mykonos & Athens, September 2010 Our trip was great. Everything went smoothly and we were all impressed with the Gate 1 people who met us at every transfer and made our travel arrangements so easy. 	11 Day Mykonian with 4 Day Cruise, September 2010 The trip was marvelous. The clearest element in making the trip enjoyable was the work of the Gate 1 tour managers, Panos and Cristos. They were there when we needed them, helpful and pleasant. They made everything go smoothly from arrival to departure. We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of hotels in Athens (Royal Olympics) and Mykonos (Tharroe of Mykonos). The view from the dining room at the Royal Olympics was incredible, with the Parthenon on one side and the Temple of Zeus on the other. Even Donald Trump couldn't arrange for that setting. Service in both was exceptional. We hadn't realized the benefit of upgrading the cabin would have such pleasant results in the choice of hotels. The excursions were all very good, with Ephesus and Santorini clearly the best. The tour of the Parthenon Museum was given by a very knowledgeable guide, Maria. It was like a two and a half hour seminar on Greek history. We were very pleased with the Aquamarine cruise. The food was good, at times excellent. The cabin was comfortable, and the dining areas pleasant and accessible. The facilities were attractive and pleasant. We were not as pleased with the internet arrangement on board. By contrast, both hotels offered free wireless at reasonable speed and allowed us to keep in touch. I am not a 'net nut' but do rely on the internet for communications and information.
