DAY 1, Thursday - Depart the USA
Depart the USA for Italy. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey
DAY 2, Friday - Arrive in Italy and transfer to Montecatini
Arrive in Florence and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure. Tonight, enjoy a welcome cocktail and orientation, followed by a welcome dinner

DAY 3, Saturday - Renaissance Lecture and Tour of Lucca
This morning, enjoy a lecture on "Artistic Tuscany and the Renaissance," followed by a tour of Lucca, one of the most fascinating towns in Tuscany. Walk the narrow streets of the original Roman grid to San Michele and its beautiful piazza, which occupies the site of the ancient Roman Forum. In the afternoon, return to Montecatini

DAY 4, Sunday - Tour of Carrara and Pisa
Today, travel along the beautiful Tyrrhenian Coast toward the mountains of the famous marble quarries of Carrara. Although harvested since the Roman times, the precious marble of Carrara was made famous by the great Michelangelo. Following your visit, continue to Pisa to view the Piazza del Miracoli, renowned for its Leaning Tower, as well as the Baptistery and Duomo

DAY 5, Monday - Tour of Tuscan vineyard
Today is free to explore Montecatini on your own. This evening, depart for a Tuscan farm in the countryside. Enjoy a tour of the farm's vineyards before settling in for a rustic Tuscan Paesana dinner, including wine and olive oil tastings

DAY 6, Tuesday - Tour of Florence
This morning, travel to Florence, the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. On arrival, walk to the Duomo and Baptistery to view Ghiberti's "Gates of Paradise," whose south door quatrefoils feature scenes from the life of John the Baptist. Continue to visit the Accademia where you will view Michelangelo's David. From here, visit the open air art museum of Signoria Square, with its beautiful statues and landmark Ponte Vecchio, the "Old Bridge." Return to Montecatini and enjoy the evening at leisure

DAY 7, Wednesday - Sorrento
Depart Montecatini via motor coach for Sorrento, a charming coastal town overlooking the Bay of Naples. On the way, enjoy a brief stop in Tivoli, the historic town of Villa D'Este. Continue along the "Sun Route," passing the famous Montecassino Abbey, and enjoy the stunning panorama of the Sorrentine coast before reaching the colorful town of Sorrento

DAY 8, Thursday - Tour of Amalfi
Today, drive the world-famous Amalfi route and admire panoramic views of the enchanting towns along the Mediterranean coast. Pass the distinctive white Moorish homes of Positano on this legendary road to reach the coastal town of Amalfi, a UNESCO World Heritage Site

Depart Florence and drive to the medieval city of Siena, site of the famous Horserace of Palio. This traditional race takes place each year on July 2nd and August 16th, and runs in celebration of the holy apparition and assumption of the Virgin Mary, patron saint of the city. Tour Campo Square and St. Dominic's Church before returning to Montecatini.
