This morning, enjoy a 45-minute drive to visit the Sphinx and Pyramids of Giza, a "must see" for any traveler to Egypt. Once there, spend two hours exploring the oldest of the Seven Wonders of the World and the only one to survive until the modern era. Admire this feat of engineering erected in honor of Pharaoh Khufu and his three wives. Continue to a nearby bazaar for a free Egyptian drink and time to shop. Should you prefer, your guide will accompany you to a local restaurant for lunch. Otherwise, the tour continues to Memphis, the ancient capital of Egypt, to view the Sakkara Temple of Awakening and its distinctive stepped Pyramids.

Depart in the early morning and enjoy a relaxing drive from Cairo to Alexandria to visit the Graeco-Roman Museum. First built in 1892, then transferred three years later to its present site on the Gamal Abdul Nasser Road, the Graeco-Roman Museum contains many valued antiquities from the Graeco-Roman, Pharaonic, and early Christian periods. Among the prized possessions housed within, the most famous is the coin collection in the 25th Gallery. The collection comprises a vast variety of gold coins, all of which are chronologically arranged, and date from 630 B.C. to the 19th century Ottoman period. Continue to the decorative Catacombs at Alexandria Serapeum, where you will see Pompey's red granite pillar. Return to Cairo this afternoon.

Today, enjoy a two-hour guided tour of the world's richest museum, the Egyptian Museum, which houses the mysterious golden mask of King Tut. Afterward, continue to the Citadel, one of Cairo's most historic landmarks, constructed by Salah El Din in 1183 A.D. Appreciate the contrasting architectural components of the Citadel, including the Alabaster Mosque of Mohamed Ali, the most notable highlight of the tour. From the Mosque of Ali, continue to visit the Bazaars of Khan El Khalili in Old Cairo. Here, enjoy time at leisure to explore the bazaars for souvenirs or gifts for friends and family.
