    Today enjoy a full day at leisure in Rome. Known as the "Eternal City" for its influential role throughout European history, Rome is home to countless historical monuments, world famous art, architecture and ancient ruins. Perhaps take a stroll through the grounds of ancient Rome to view the Forum, the Colosseum and Pantheon. Admire the breathtaking grandeur of the Trevi Fountain and the majestic Spanish Steps, or sample some true Italian cuisine in one of the many excellent restaurants throughout the city

    DAY 4 - Full Day in Rome
    Enjoy a second full day in Rome on your own. Be sure not to miss the artistic treasures of the city such as the Vatican Museum's collection of works by Raphael and Michelangelo, including the breathtaking Sistine Chapel. Stop by one of the several museums packed with artifacts from the ancient city, or take a walk through the numerous piazzas and marvel at the sculptural works on display in the open air

    Arrive in Alexandria, Egypt at 7:00 am. It is Egypt's largest seaport and the second largest city in the country, Alexandria is also a splendid Mediterranean resort. Famous in ancient times as the home of the world's largest library and a lighthouse that was one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World, traces of the city's impressive heritage can still be seen at the Roman Amphitheater, Pompey's Pillar, and the Citadel of Qaitibay. Stay docked in Alexandria overnight

    DAY 9 - Full Day in Alexandria*

    DAY 10 - Full Day in Ashdod*
    This morning arrive in Ashdod at 10:00 am. Built on a site occupied by the Canaanites as far back as the 17th century BC, modern Ashdod serves the largest port city in Israel and as one of the most important industrial areas in the country. Ashdod is also a perfect jumping-off point for visits to Jerusalem and Bethlehem to see the incredible landmarks of the Holy Land. Easily within a day's travel are the Western (Wailing) Wall, Church of the Holy Sepulchre, and King David's Tomb or even Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity

    This morning, arrive to Kusadasi at 8:00 am. Renowned for its beaches and attractive view of the Aegean, Kusadasi is near to several historical sites including Ephesus, a city created by the Ionians in the 11th century B.C. and later expanded by the Romans to become a powerful trading and religious center. Sail for Athens at 6:00 pm

    DAY 14 - Full Day in Athens
    At 7:00 am arrive to Piraeus, the historical port of Athens. Enjoy a full day at leisure to explore the city on your own. See the Acropolis and Pantheon, walk through the impressive temples and public buildings of Ancient Agora or do some shopping in the old Plaka district. Set sail this evening at 5:00 pm

Leave Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain, and head to Piazza Venezia where you will admire the Memorial to King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Continue to the square of the Capitol, and admire the unique sight of the Forum, Colosseum and Palatine Hill, one of Rome's most ancient districts. Walk along the pavement of the original Roman grid, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum, the Curia, and the Reggia. Enjoy views of the Temple of Vesta, the Arch of Titus and the Triumphal Arch of Constantine. The walking tour is designed to take you through the ages of Rome, starting from St. Peter's Basilica. Proceed to the famous Piazza Navona, erected over the ruins of Domitian's Circus, before heading to the best preserved of all ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon, whose original dome is the largest surviving from antiquity in the world. Tour ends at the Trevi Fountain, the largest and most exquisite baroque fountain in Rome.

Pass by Villa Borghese, one of Europe's most elegant parks, and previous estate of the noble Borghese family. The tour continues to the Vatican Museum and Galleries, where you will find galleries of chandeliers, tapestries, geographical maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. From here, visit the Sistine Chapel and behold the great frescoes by Michelangelo. Passing through the Vatican Hall, continue to the Basilica of Saint Peter, one of the four major basilicas of Rome, and burial site of its namesake, Saint Peter.

    Please note that on Wednesdays during the Holy Father's Audience, the visit inside St. Peter's Basilica will not take place.
