DAY 1, Monday - Depart the USA

DAY 2, Tuesday - Arrive in Santiago and Santiago City Tour
Arrive in Santiago and transfer to your hotel. Your afternoon tour of Santiago includes a journey through the main streets of the civic center of the city, with views of the neoclassical Moneda Palace, the current seat of government, and the Plaza de Armas, with its Cathedral, Museum of National History and Central Post Office. Continue to Parque Forestal, inspired by the Champs Elysees in Paris. See the Fine Arts Museum and Santa Lucia Hill, where the city was founded in 1541. Then climb San Cristobal hill for a panoramic view of the city with the magnificent Andes Mountains in the background. The tour concludes with a visit to the handicraft village of Los Graneros del Alba. Balance of the day at leisure

DAY 5, Friday - Torres del Paine
Today, enjoy a full day excursion with lunch included, visiting Torres del Paine National Park. Depart from Puerto Natales with a visit to the Milodon Cave en route. The journey continues through steppes and Patagonia scrub, full of abundant wildlife and herds of sheep, up to Torres del Paine National Park. In the park, a large variety of native fauna, especially large herds of guanacos, can be observed. Visit the Salto Grande of the Pehoe River, with the impressive mountain massif of Torres del Paine in the background. Continue to visit Lake Pehoe, Lake Grey and Grey Glacier. Return to Puerto Natales in the evening

DAY 6, Saturday - Punta Arenas
This morning, drive to Punta Arenas. This afternoon's city tour of Punta Arenas includes an ascent of Cerro Mirador, the only ski resort in the world with a sea view. Here, enjoy a fantastic panoramic view of Punta Arenas. Afterwards, visit the historic cemetery with its ornate foliage and elaborate tombs. Then, view the Monument to Magellan in the Plaza Munoz Gamero. The tour continues with a visit to the Regional Salesian Museum, which hosts exhibitions featuring the Yaganas, Onas, and Alacalufes, the area's native peoples. Lastly, tour the Historic Museum of Magellan and the Braun Menendez Palace

DAY 10, Wednesday - Sail to Cerro Brujo
This morning, transfer to the airport for your flight to San Cristobal, the Galapagos archipelago's oldest and easternmost island. Upon arrival, transfer to the pier and board the Galapagos Explorer II. Settle in for a visit to Cerro Brujo (wet landing) to view pelicans and a variety of sea birds, including Blue and Red-footed Boobies, Common Gallinules, and Frigates. Enjoy free time for snorkeling or a swim

DAY 11, Thursday - Sail to Bahia Gardner
This morning, sail to Punta Suarez (Española Island) (dry landing), where you can view sea lions surfing the waves and marine iguanas basking. You may hike further inland and view the Blowhole, a fissure in the lava cliffs where sea water jets high into the air. In the afternoon, arrive at Bahia Gardner (wet landing) and view one of the most pristine beaches in all of the Galapagos, home to many sea lion colonies and endemic mocking birds. Venture out to Gardner Rock for wall dives, where you can encounter tropical fish, rays, cactus finch and other colorful sea dwellers while snorkeling

DAY 12, Friday - Sail to Santa Cruz Island
Today, arrive at Santa Cruz Island (dry landing). Visit the Charles Darwin Research Station, a specialized breeding and rearing center for the endangered Galapagos Giant Tortoise. The Darwin Station is a working branch of the international, non-profit Charles Darwin foundation which works to protect and maintain the Galapagos' precious ecosystems. Afterwards, walk through Puerto Ayora, the largest and most cosmopolitan town on the islands. In the afternoon, journey to the small island of Rabida (wet landing), located to the south of Santiago, and home to a central volcano with some of largest and most variegated types of lava in the island chain. A small saltwater lagoon provides occasional sights of Flamingos feeding on pink shrimp larva, while the beach holds a large sea lion colony. There's a short walk to the top of the trail where you will have opportunities to photograph the striking volcanic peaks

DAY 13, Saturday - Morning in Las Bachas
This morning, sail back to Santa Cruz Island and enjoy the white-sand beaches of Las Bachas (wet landing). The beaches owe their stark tone and consistency to the decomposed coral of which they are made, a characteristic which also makes them a favorite nesting site for sea turtles. This afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight from Baltra to Quito on the mainland. Upon arrival, transfer to your hotel and enjoy the balance of the day at leisure

DAY 14, Sunday - Quito City Tour
Your morning tour of Quito begins with a view of the Congress Building, with an outside stone mural that records Ecuador's colorful history. Continue to Quito's Colonial quarter and walk its narrow cobblestone streets for a sense of 16th-century Quito. View the Independence Plaza, the Presidential Palace, Municipal Building, the Archbishop's Palace, and the Churches of La Compañía and San Francisco. Afterward, see the Ecuadorian landscape from atop El Panecillo Hill. Balance of the day at leisure

Today, depart for the central coast traveling through the valleys of Curacaví & Casablanca. The latter is known for its recent success as a wine producing area and there is a stop to visit one of the vineyards and taste some wine. Continue to the coast and visit the beach area of Reñaca and the town of Viña del Mar, known as the Garden City for its pretty parks and flower-lined streets. Visit the Gaming Casino and the coastal road. In the afternoon proceed to the picturesque port of Valparaiso built in the 16th century on a total of 43 hills that are reached by narrow, windy streets, staircases and a series of lifts (funiculars) which now constitute a UNESCO as World Heritage Site because of the eclectic architecture and urban development. Visit the museum house of Pablo Neruda, La Sebastiana. The house is situated on one of the hills overlooking the bay and contains some of the poet's collections, specifically those related to the sea.

The islands of Magdalena and Marta are two of the regions premier attractions. The ecosystem made up by both of them is wonderful. On Marta Island live more than a thousand sea lions, cormorants, and skuas, among others. On Magdalena Island you can interact with one of the largest colonies of Magellan Penguins (more than 150,000 birds). Additionally, dolphins can be observed during the navigation. In order to help protect the wild life, it is not possible to disembark on Marta Island, but the island is closely circumnavigated.

Tour the Parque Historico Guayaquil (Historic Park), an institutional project regarding the physical transformation of the city from the 19th to 20th century. Its three zones -- Traditions, Urban Architectural, and Wildlife -- each feature unique settings. See the Traditions Zone and go back to the 19th and 20th centuries where you will be able to see how life depended on banana, coffee, and rice plantations. Next, the Urban Architectural Zone recreates two blocks of old Guayaquil, showing architecture from the 19th Century. Lastly, see the connection between man and nature in the Wildlife Zone.
