DAY 1 - Depart the USA
Depart the USA for Iceland.
DAY 2 - Arrive in Iceland, Northern Lights Evening Tour*
Arrive in Iceland, "Land of the Midnight Sun" and transfer independently to your hotel. Most flights arrive in the early morning and your room may not be ready for you. In this case, leave your luggage with the concierge. Spend the balance of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, surrounded by incredible landscapes and countless natural wonders. Or perhaps take an optional tour to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a unique geo-thermal spa situated in the youngest lava field in west Iceland. Later tonight, we search the skies for the Northern Lights, (Aurora Borealis) among the most spectacular phenomena on earth. The Northern Lights originate from the sun, where large explosions and electronic storms throw flares and solar particles deep into space. These clouds and solar particles are caught by the Earth’s magnetic field on the south and north poles. These solar particles collide with the atmospheric gases and create this wonderful light effect. This evening, we hope to see these lights swirling and dancing across the sky, endlessly changing color, shape and size.*
Optional: Blue Lagoon Experience (AM)
DAY 3 - Reykjavik
Today, enjoy the day at leisure in Reykjavík, the world's most northerly capital and where more than one third of Iceland's population resides
Optional: Reykjavik City Tour (AM)
DAY 4 - Day at Leisure
