DAY 1 - Depart for Iceland
Depart for Iceland.
DAY 2 - Arrive in Iceland, Northern Lights Evening Tour*
Arrive in Iceland, "Land of the Midnight Sun" and transfer independently to your hotel. Most flights arrive in the early morning and your room may not be ready for you. In this case, leave your luggage with the concierge. Spend the balance of the day at leisure to explore Reykjavik, the world's most northerly capital, surrounded by incredible landscapes and countless natural wonders. Or perhaps take an optional city tour of Reykjavik, which includes visits to the Pearl, Hallgrimskirkja Church and the National Museum of Iceland. Gain invaluable insight into the Icelandic society and how Reykjavik has developed from a small fishing village into a modern capital. Later tonight, we search the skies for the Northern Lights, (Aurora Borealis) among the most spectacular phenomena on earth. The Northern Lights originate from the sun, where large explosions and electronic storms throw flares and solar particles deep into space. These clouds and solar particles are caught by the Earth’s magnetic field on the south and north poles. These solar particles collide with the atmospheric gases and create this wonderful light effect. This evening, we hope to see these lights swirling and dancing across the sky, endlessly changing color, shape and size.*
Optional: Reykjavik City Tour (AM)
DAY 3 - Reykjavik
Today, enjoy the day at leisure in Reykjavík, the world's most northerly capital and where more than one third of Iceland's population resides. Or perhaps take an optional tour to the world-famous Blue Lagoon, a unique geo-thermal spa situated in the youngest lava field in west Iceland.
Optional: Blue Lagoon Experience (AM)
DAY 4 - Day at Leisure
Full day to explore Reykjavik at your leisure or choose the optional sightseeing to see the world-famous Geyser area, Gulfoss waterfall and visit to the Thingvellir National Park.
Optional: Full Day Golden Circle Tour (AM)
Transfer independently to Keflavik Airport for your departure flight.
*Please note, Northern Lights tour is subject to correct weather conditions and sightings cannot be guaranteed. If the tour is cancelled locally, another tour will be offered on the evening of Day 3 or Day 4. The Northern lights tour departs in the late evening and may not return until after midnight.
