DAY 1, Monday - Depart the USA
Depart the USA to Italy. Your flight includes meals, drinks, and in-flight entertainment for your journey.

DAY 2, Tuesday - Arrive in Venice
Arrive in Venice and transfer to your hotel. Spend the rest of the day at leisure.

DAY 3, Wednesday - Morning Walking Tour of Venice
Today, travel independently to the Exchange Office under the clock tower in St. Mark's Square to begin a walking tour of Venice. Your charismatic guide will acquaint you with Venice's most important and unique historical landmarks. Begin with an orientation of St. Mark's Square where you will learn about its most prominent monuments including the Golden Basilica of San Marco, the Ducal Palace, the Bell and Clock Towers, and the Procuratie buildings. Proceed to Santa Maria Formosa Square and Campo SS. Giovanni e Paolo, the second largest square in Venice. Afterward, continue to the corner of Marco Polo's House and Malbran Theater. Then, return to St. Mark's Square through the Mercerie, a series of interconnecting streets that connect Ponte di Rialto and St. Mark's Square, and are the main streets in the city for shopping. Please note: This is a walking and orientation tour of Venice that does not include entry into any landmarks. The remainder of the day is at leisure. Spend time exploring the city's canals admiring the Gothic architecture with Byzantine and Moorish influences. Afterward, you may choose to enjoy an optional Gondola Serenade in the evening. Relax with music as you slowly meander the famous Grand Canal.

DAY 4, Thursday - Day at Leisure
Enjoy the day at leisure to explore Venice, the "Queen of the Adriatic," and one Europe's most romantic cities. This afternoon, you may choose to join an excursion to the islands of Venice Lagoon where you will depart by boat from Alilaguna Pier to the charming island of Murano, on to Burano, and the island of Torcello.

DAY 5, Friday - Travel to Florence by Rail
Travel to Florence, birthplace of the Renaissance, by scenic rail. After check-in, spend the remainder of the day at leisure.

DAY 6, Saturday - Open Top Bus Tour
Travel independently to Transito Stazione Centrale di Firenze to travel on one of two routes. View the city from the top of an open double-decker bus. With numerous stops conveniently located along each route, you can hop on and off at your discretion. Admire the Duomo, Florence's principle attraction, set against the picturesque skyline and marvel at its gothic interior. Then hop on until you reach the Accademia Gallery to view Michelangelo's famed Statue of David and continue on to appreciate the fine arts at The Uffizi Gallery or the churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce. For the antiquarian, hop off at the Arno River and cross the Ponte Vecchio to appreciate some of the oldest streets in the city to Oltrarno, located south of the river and home to much of the historic center of Florence.

DAY 7, Sunday - Day at Leisure
Spend the day at leisure exploring Florence on your own, or choose to take part in a guided city tour in the morning and a half day tour of the Chianti region departing in the afternoon.

DAY 8, Monday - Travel to Rome by Rail
Enjoy the your surroundings as you travel to Rome by rail. After check-in, the rest of the day is at leisure. Enjoy the ancient Roman architecture or dive into the sumptuous culinary delights which abound citywide. Or, choose an optional guided tour with dinner, featuring flood-lit views of many of the major attractions complimented by traditional Roman cuisine and folk music.

DAY 9, Tuesday - Open Top Bus Tour
Today, travel independently to Via Marsala/Partenze dal Capolinea to choose a route for a hop on/hop off bus tour of Rome. The tour allows you to set your own pace, getting on and off at any of the many stops along each route. See famous sites such as the Colosseum, the Vatican, & the Trevi Fountain, among many others.

DAY 10, Wednesday - Day at Leisure
Spend the entire day exploring "The Eternal City" at leisure. You may choose to take the optional tour of the Vatican Museums in the morning and a guided tour of ancient Rome in the afternoon, or take on Rome independently. Be sure to visit Rome's many monuments including the Trevi Fountain, St. Peter's Basilica, Piazza Navona, the fabled Colosseum, and the most well preserved of all ancient Roman buildings, the Pantheon. Rome's abundant sights are simply breathtaking ranging from the ancient to contemporary. The fourth largest city in Europe has something for all tastes. Whether your interests lie in antiquity, architecture, cuisine, culture, religion, or shopping, Rome has something to pique any interest.

This evening, enjoy one of the highlights of any Italian holiday! Enjoy a relaxing gondola ride with music along the famous Grand Canal, and experience a piece of Venetian history. Glide along the centuries old canals, past lavish palaces and under famous arched bridges (the Gondola holds a maximum of six passengers. Please note that this is not a private gondola ride. Depart by boat from Alilaguna Pier to the charming island of Murano. Built on a series of small islands connected by bridges in the Venetian Lagoon, Murano is known throughout the world for its glass manufacturing industry. Enjoy a visit inside one of the island's glass blowing factories to witness first-hand the methods of this fascinating art. Continue to Burano, the most scenic island of the Lagoon, famous for its colorful houses and central church with leaning campanile. Visit Baldassarre Galuppi Street, the island's main avenue, filled with tiny shops that sell famous handmade lace. Continue to the island of Torcello to visit the church of Santa Fosca. Here you will see the church's unique portico in the form of a Greek cross, and the Byzantine Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.

This morning, depart from the Piazza San Bernardo, site of Moses' Fountain, and travel along Via Bissolati and Via Veneto. Pass by Villa Borghese, one of Europe's most elegant parks, and previous estate of the noble Borghese family. The tour continues to the Vatican Museum and Galleries, where you will find galleries of chandeliers, tapestries, geographical maps, the Sobiesky Hall and the Immaculate Conception Hall. From here, visit the Sistine Chapel and behold the great frescoes by Michelangelo. Passing through the Vatican Hall, continue to the Basilica of Saint Peter, one of the four major basilicas of Rome, and burial site of its namesake, Saint Peter.

Today's tour will feature the classic splendor of the Roman Empire. Leave Piazza San Bernardo, adorned by Moses' Fountain, and head to Piazza Venezia where you will admire the Memorial to King Vittorio Emanuele II and the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
