The seven of us, (5 adults and 2 kids) want to let you know our tour of Italy from Venice to Rome was the highest quality! It was exceptional in that all our needs were met, we experienced no problems, and we enjoyed every minute of the entire tour. We think we must have had the very best tour manager, Johnny, who gave us real personal attention, and he also handled everything for all the other thirty-three people in our group. Our hotel accommodations were fine--we especially enjoyed the Hotel Principe in Venice and the Croce Di Malta in Florence. The location of Hotel Palantino in Rome gave us the opportunity to explore many areas of interest. Our (provided) meals were excellent, and our local guides, as well as our own bus driver Paulo were all terrific.

Over the past several years I have traveled with other tour groups, and I want to say that GATE 1 is the best organized, offers the best value, and creates the best itineraries of them all. The Whisper Technology enabled us to hear our guides clearly all the time. As an aside, I also went with Gate 1 on an Egypt/Nile Cruise several years ago, and it was also superb! We are already thinking of future tours, and we hope to go with Gate 1 Travel again. We will recommend your organization to friends and family who want to travel well.

I have traveled over much of the world, including a trip to India through Gate l last month, but this trip to Italy was one of the best. All the arrangements fell together with no hitches, I didn't have one frustration and the weather was good. Even St. Mark's square in Venice was dry. I'd love to do it all over again.

It was amazing! I had a fabulous time! Michaela, our tour guide was great! She did a wonderful job. And the individual tour/sightseeing guides were knowledgeable and interesting! I love my room in Venice!

We all had a wonderful time. The manner in which everything was arranged was perfect. Our tour director, Alessandro, was incredible, he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was very knowledgeable and was available around the clock. He also had great suggestions for us during our free time. From 1 to 10, Alessandro and Gate 1 scored a 10. I would highly recommend your company to anyone needing a tour group. The tours and accommodations were first class. There is no way we could have seen and done everything on our own. We will gladly use Gate 1 again.

Everything went like clock work, our guide Lynn was superior, the local guides just great, just the perfect amount of time for each thing we did. The entire group took a trip out to Cinqueterre on Friday, Lynn arranged it effortlessly it seemed. The dinner at the vineyard was more than I think anyone expected. I would definitely recommend your travel agency, and I will definitely travel with you again.

Traveling in europe before, it was so great to have someone else do the worrying about where we were staying, the train, etc. Our hotel was beautiful, Montecatini was just a beautiful, beautiful city, centrally located, and the town had great restaurants and entertainment. It was a perfect vacation for me. I am so glad I chose your travel agency.

I had a WONDERFUL time. The tours were really great and Martin and the tour guides were so knowledgable, interesting and friendly and a lot of fun. It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

This was our second tour with Gate 1 (Egypt in February, 2006), and we plan on touring with Gate 1 every year.

We've toured with other tour companies in the past, but in our view Gate 1 is superior to both. The guide in Italy - Martin - was perhaps the best guide we ever had. As a matter of fact we're already thinking about our Spring, 2008 vacation in Sicily with Gate 1, and our desire would be to somehow tour with Martin again.

We recently completed travel to Rome and Barcelona. We had the best time! Thank you for making everything so easy!!! The food, the sights, the wine, the amenities all were wonderful.

The tour was fantastic. You picked the best tour guide I have ever met, Mercedes. She deserves a 100 star rating. She was so dedicated to serving everyone and assisting people with any issue. Beyond Mercedes, the actual tour was wonderful. We learned a lot about Italian past, but also got to see some of the most beautiful and historic areas on earth. We didn't want to come home. While I was in Florence, another couple asked me how we liked the tour. They had done research and wanted to know how we felt. First and foremost, we all had a great time. How could we not in Rome and Florence! This was the first time for two of my friends, so they were really excited. Everything went very well.

The train to Florence for me - my first time on the train - was very enjoyable. A good way to see the country side. When we arrived in Florence, we and went right out and all bought leather jackets!

The hotel Croce De Malta - we liked the fact that everything was within walking (and I mean walking) distance! As I'm sure you know, the food in Italy and wine are sooo good.

Of course I've impressed my friends, as they think I did all this hard work, and got a great price for the trip. So to answer your question, it was great. Can't wait to take another trip. Thanks for all your help.

This was our first trip to Italy. My husband and I had a great and wonderful experience and so did my sister and her husband. Our Tour Director Michela was so efficient, organized and made everyone feel so at home. She treated each one of us like family. We were so lucky to join such a fantastic group of all ages. Marissa our tour guide in Rome is so knowledgeable and caring, she made our tour educational and memorable. Our overall experience was excellent and we're looking forward to our next trip with our three kids. Keep up the good work.

It was the most wonderful trip I have ever taken!

Pam and I had the time of our lives. We were commenting upon our return of how fabulous the accommodations were and how very smooth all the transfers were.

OH MY GOD, IT WAS FANTASTIC!!!!

Everything was wonderful!!! We saw soooo many things, met so many nice people, and had the best weather ever!! It was so warm, we only wore a winter coat two days of the whole two weeks! The hotels we stayed in were really nice and centrally located. Each hotel was better then the last one! Our favorite one was the one in Florence!! Beautiful and new and great staff, very helpful!! By the time two days was up, it was time to move on! The rail system is great, always on schedule.

We saw all the sites we wanted, no lines at all and at a relaxed pace. All modes of transportation are great. We took water taxis, gondolas, local buses, city buses, tour buses, hydrofoil ferrys, private drivers, etc. In Rome we took a two day "hop on and off" bus. It took you along a route and you could get off for a few hours, check out whatever, hop back on the bus, get off where you wanted. It was great. It was a double decker bus and we rode on the top which was all open. They gave you ear pieces and you could hear all about the famous places and buildings and history as you were passing each on the bus.

When our 8 day tour was over, we railed to Naples, spent three days there checking out Isle of Capri, Amalfi Coast, Ravello, Positano, etc. Beautiful places. Then we spent two nights in Sorrento. Loved it there! Possibly the best restaurants were there! Yummy! Then we took an overnight ferry to Catania in Sicily, checked out Taromina and spent the night in Cefalu on a hotel on the beach!!!! Drove to the airport, hopped on the plane back to Rome and then home to snow! Wonderful wonderful trip!

We would definitely go back to Gate 1 Travel!!! Thank you soooo much for helping us thoroughly plan and enjoy our vacation!! You were a great help!!!

My trip to Rome and Venice was fantastic. I had the time of my life and this was one of the best trips I have been on.
