WOW! Far exceeded any expectations I had, and they were pretty high to start!

The trip was perfect. The only complaint that I had was that we were forced to sleep at times! The tour guide was beyond great - he knew every crack and crevice of the country! Proudly, and with superior knowledge, he showed us everything we were physically and mentally able to pack in. He not only was knowledgeable but was organized, fun and had a great sense of humor. We loved Vanni and also fell in love with Paolo, our bus driver. The accommodations were excellent and the food was amazing. Super A number 1. Thanks so much! We are saving our money for another trip and would not even consider another travel agency!

Well, we are impressed! We just returned from an 8 day trip to Rome, Florence, Venice and am amazed that the trip went so smoothly. We are long-time independent travelers and this is the first time I used an on-line travel agency. I must admit I had my reservations about doing this but your company did come well recommended.

We opted for several city tours, and transfers and it just worked out wonderfully. We were picked up at the Rome airport on time and driven directly to our hotel; the hotel was ready for us, we could get into our room immediately, they were efficient, friendly and helpful. Our first tour was the all day tour of Rome and the hotel packed us a bag breakfast to take with us. The tour was excellent and well run. The train reservations went very well, our seats were excellent, and it was a stress free trip to each city. The locations of the Florence and Venice hotels were superior. Could not ask for better accommodations as both were next to or near the train station. In each case, the hotel was ready for us and we were able to locate the tour pick up nearby by. Again, the tours were excellent from the walking tour of Florence to the bus ride to Pisa. Since we had limited time it was a great way to see a lot in a short period of time. Our favorite city was Venice. We took the walking tour of St. Mark's and the option of going to Murano Island. We enjoyed the trip. Please keep us posted on any specials or new places you come up with.

Just got home from the Enchanting Italy trip with Annarita as the tour leader. This was our first trip with Gate 1 and it was really great!. Annarita did a really outstanding job. Very knowlegeable, friendly, very good at managing and coordinating all of the details. The local guides were also knowledgable and passionate about their particular area. This was our first tour and it will be a hard act to follow. But we will be back with Gate 1 for sure!

The trip was wonderful! Gate 1 was a fabulous tour and our guide, Vanni, was excellent and so knowledgable. We both liked that he had a personality instead of just spewing information at us. He was always "on"!

It was fun to meet all these new people, most had never been to Italy before. The hotel in Sorrento - the Hotel Cristina - had a balcony/terrace way up on those hills in that city and we looked outside and Mt. Vesuvius was our main view in front of us, Naples to our left and more hills of Sorrento to our right. We don't know what we did to deserve that room, but by far that has been the best room/view we had ever had on any trip in the states or anywhere else. Absolutely fabulous and the view at night was awesome! I know I loved Sorrento/Capri and Venice the most, while Roberto was enamered with Rome. We certainly could have spent so much more time there.

All in all the trip was fabulous, Roberto wants to go back now, I'll be sure to send photo's once I've organized them. We would definitely recommend Gate 1 to anyone if they need reassurance, they were great.

Thank you, thank you for the best trip that we have ever taken!! Your tour was over the top, from the hotels to the dinners in Italy, words cannot describe how much we enjoyed this trip. Your tour coordinator in Italy, Alessandro, made this trip so memorable for each of us on the the tour. We are recommending Gate 1 to all of our friends and relatives. We will use Gate 1 for all of our travels in the future. Cannot say enough about your company and the people that you hire to represent you in the various locations.

To say that the trip was wonderful would be an understatement.

The travel arrangements made were awesome. We didn't have to wait anywhere in those long never ending queues - especially Vatican city and museums.

The food was quite good. The dinners were amazing. The dinner in Rome with opera singers was a unique experience. The wine-tasting stops were fabulous. Getting an insight into how wine & olive oil is made was again a rewarding experience.

The hotels were 4 star hotels, in heart of the attraction area, well worth the money. We could go out whenever we wanted, we could walk back to the hotel. Didn't have to do a cab ever. In Rome, Colosseum was at a stone throw distance. So were the Roman Forum, Piazza Venezia & other attractions in Rome.

The bus driver, Chiro, deserves a special mention. He was very patient and never got irritated.

All the local tour guides had excellent command of English and were extremely knowledgable. Our tour guide in Florence, Roberto was very pleasant. He would explain all the attractions in Florence with a sense of pride.

Paulo, our local tour guide in Rome again deserves special mention. Not only was he very informative. He had an excellent sense of humor. The tour guide in Venice was also very good.

Last but not the least, the tour escort. The tour escort is someone whom we entrust ourselves in a foreign land..And to be honest, Vivana - our tour escort deserves a 20 on a scale of 10. She was simply fabulous. Very warm person,very understanding, very very patient. Keeping such a group entertained was the key. She was always there to help us with a smile on her face, clearly deriving pleasure & enjoying her job.

My wife and I were honeymooners and there was another couple with us who had come for their honeymoon as well. In Florence, for our dinner, she got us a beautiful cake with a figure of a husband and wife. That was a total surprise and very nice of her to remember. She also made sure that one lady who was celebrating her birthday had a cake in Rome.

There is much more to write abt the tour. I also heard from one of the ladies that she had been on some tour with another tour company and that GATE1 tour and hotels were much much better than compared to what that tour company had provided them . I am looking forward for more such tours with GATE1.

I have to let you know what a wonderful time we had on the 11 day tour of Italy. The cities of Venice, Florence, Rome and Sorrento were so beautiful and very educational, thanks to our very able tour director, Nicoletta. That lady really knows her business and was so helpful making sure that we enjoyed our vacation. She explained every aspect of the sites and cities as we traversed Italy from North to South. The local guides were also great. I particularly enjoyed our trip to Capri and our guide, Peppi. He was a "blast"! I know you have many other guides, but our "hats off" to Nicoletta . She was the "greatest"! Her and our driver, Salvatore, worked so well togather. He is one great driver!

Thanks for a wonderful time and we look forward to another trip from Gate 1.

I just returned from this trip with my husband Steve. It was the best vacation ever. Our tour guide was Martin and he was wonderful. When I starting planning my trip to Italy, I began with 12 different tours. After looking very carefully at all that was included, I chose Gate 1. So glad that I did. The hotels were very clean and close to everything. People always say that tours can be too much or not enough. This was everything that I dreamed. Thank you Gate 1!!

Recently my wife and I went on an 11 day Enchanting Italy tour. Our first Gate 1 trip. It was the best tour of our life. Thanks to our tour guide, Flavia. She was the best. Took care of every detail and worked so efficiently with the local people. She was caring and had all the information on her finger tips. Everybody in our tour group of 25 people loved her professionalism, disposition, and knowledge. She made the trip worthwhile. As a result we will be using Gate 1 for future trips to Ireland (2009), Greece (2010), and Central Europe (2011).

The seven of us, (5 adults and 2 kids) want to let you know our tour of Italy from Venice to Rome was the highest quality! It was exceptional in that all our needs were met, we experienced no problems, and we enjoyed every minute of the entire tour. We think we must have had the very best tour manager, Johnny, who gave us real personal attention, and he also handled everything for all the other thirty-three people in our group. Our hotel accommodations were fine--we especially enjoyed the Hotel Principe in Venice and the Croce Di Malta in Florence. The location of Hotel Palantino in Rome gave us the opportunity to explore many areas of interest. Our (provided) meals were excellent, and our local guides, as well as our own bus driver Paulo were all terrific.

Over the past several years I have traveled with other tour groups, and I want to say that GATE 1 is the best organized, offers the best value, and creates the best itineraries of them all. The Whisper Technology enabled us to hear our guides clearly all the time. As an aside, I also went with Gate 1 on an Egypt/Nile Cruise several years ago, and it was also superb! We are already thinking of future tours, and we hope to go with Gate 1 Travel again. We will recommend your organization to friends and family who want to travel well.

I have traveled over much of the world, including a trip to India through Gate l last month, but this trip to Italy was one of the best. All the arrangements fell together with no hitches, I didn't have one frustration and the weather was good. Even St. Mark's square in Venice was dry. I'd love to do it all over again.

We all had a wonderful time. The manner in which everything was arranged was perfect. Our tour director, Alessandro, was incredible, he went above and beyond the call of duty. He was very knowledgeable and was available around the clock. He also had great suggestions for us during our free time. From 1 to 10, Alessandro and Gate 1 scored a 10. I would highly recommend your company to anyone needing a tour group. The tours and accommodations were first class. There is no way we could have seen and done everything on our own. Everything went like clock work, our guide Lynn was superior, the local guides just great, just the perfect amount of time for each thing we did. The entire group took a trip out to Cinqueterre on Friday, Lynn arranged it effortlessly it seemed. The dinner at the vineyard was more than I think anyone expected. I would definitely recommend your travel agency, and I will definitely travel with you again.

Traveling in europe before, it was so great to have someone else do the worrying about where we were staying, the train, etc. Our hotel was beautiful, Montecatini was just a beautiful, beautiful city, centrally located, and the town had great restaurants and entertainment. It was a perfect vacation for me. I am so glad I chose your travel agency.

It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

This was our second tour with Gate 1 (Egypt in February, 2006), and we plan on touring with Gate 1 every year.

We've toured with other tour companies in the past, but in our view Gate 1 is superior to both. The guide in Italy - Martin - was perhaps the best guide we ever had. As a matter of fact we're already thinking about our Spring, 2008 vacation in Sicily with Gate 1, and our desire would be to somehow tour with Martin again.
