My husband and I truly loved the trip. Our guide, Rok, was amazing. He was not only very well organized, patient and accommodating, but also was a remarkable source of information. I don't think I ever had a lecturer in college (or graduate school) who had more depth of knowledge of history and ancillary subjects (e.g., geography, geology, political science, sociology) as well as local lore and mythology. On top of it, he was fun to be with.

It was very easy to be in both Slovenia and Croatia because the people were kind and helpful. The local guide in Pula, Nada, was terrific. The hotels were comfortable and the breakfasts got us off to a great start for the days.

We may be searching for a trip that includes St. Petersburg next year and will keep an eye on what Gate 1 may have to offer.

We loved our trip to Norway and Denmark. Pictures and emails couldn't describe the beauty and how picturesqe the views were. This trip was worth every penny and we couldn't thank you enough for it. We saw and did a lot of interesting things. Each city was unique.

Being on our own rather than with a tour group everyday was certainly the best thing for us. The plane and train reservations went without a hitch and the timing was right. We could get to the train easily and still have enough time in the next city to see plenty on the arrival day.

The hotels were close enough and within walking distance of everything

All your paper work arrived exactly as you promised and that was reassuring. Each voucher and train ticket was exactly correct and there were no mix-ups or confusion.

In the past we booked our own trips and did not book all the parts of a trip through a tour operator but you made it easy. Now you're wondering, would we use Gate1 again? Absolutely yes.

It was ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC.

This was our second tour with Gate 1 (Egypt in February, 2006), and we plan on touring with Gate 1 every year.

We've toured with other tour companies in the past, but in our view Gate 1 is superior to both. The guide in Italy - Martin - was perhaps the best guide we ever had. As a matter of fact we're already thinking about our Spring, 2008 vacation in Sicily with Gate 1, and our desire would be to somehow tour with Martin again.

It was great. I hadn't been to Paris for almost 30 years and it was just as wonderful as I remembered. I didn't want to come home. No problems with anything. And if anyone wants to know about the hotel you can tell them that it's fine. It's a good quiet location, but not too far from things. Very safe and nice shops and restaurants close by but the best is the 3-4 min walk to the metro stop which then links you to the rest of Paris in minutes. You absolutely cannot beat the value for your trips. I did Italy 2 yrs ago, now Paris and I'm already thinking about the $499 deal to Paris for fall or winter 2008 you have posted now.

This was our first trip to Italy. My husband and I had a great and wonderful experience and so did my sister and her husband. It was the most wonderful trip I have ever taken!

The trip was really great. Greg, our primary guide, and Marin, our driver, were just excellent. Hands down! The areas through which we traveled were some of the most scenic and beautiful places I've had the privilege to travel. Favorite places included Dubrovnik, Bled, Rovinj, Pula, Kotor, Budva, Ljubljana, Makarska, Cetinje, and the little village of Njegusi on top of a mountain in Montenegro..... not necessarily in that order.

The people with whom we traveled were delightful. Planning and attention to detail was evident as the entire trip proceeded very smoothly. The gelato stands were all A+ and we loved the blueberry confection we had in Ljubljana.

A special thanks goes to Abbe, our reservation agent, for making sure everything for the travel over and back on the Delta bird was taken care of .... no hitches, lost baggage, or time issues. I'd go back in the wink of the eye. Many thanks for helping us have an enjoyable 12 days abroad.

Oh it was wonderful! Your services were excellent. The hotel in Budapest was first class. The room, service and food can only be descibed as far more than we could have expected. The Hotel Budapest could go in your Class A. All of the personnel were continually helpful. They provided a computer room to use for internet emailing. The breakfast had a bountiful selection of hot and cold items with cloth tablecloth and napkins. The service was always with a smile. The city is beautiful and there a number of tours to see the city. We did a night time boat tour on the Danube to see the architecture and its lighting. They served champagne during the tour. We went to a wonderful restaurant, the Nadori that was in a cellar. The food was excellent the service was almost too much and there were four musicians who played to us with American tunes.

Prague was extremely exciting. We stayed at the Clarion, absolutely no complaints. It was conveniently located near the Old Town Square. The restaurants that we visited were all very good, they had concerts every night, tours to see the city, and all friendly folks.

I think that Gate 1 Travel provided excellent service and I have been recommending you to anyone considering planning a trip. A very special thanks to you Kim for all of your help. We will talk again.

We found our "Pot of Gold" at the end of the rainbow in Ireland! It was a well organized Gate 1 tour led by our guide, Philip. If ever there was the perfect "all-in-one" leader, it's Philip who insured that every detail of the trip was perfect. He informed and inspired us each day with insightful and interesting comments about all aspects of Ireland, focused on our interesting and varied itinerary. He also treated us to fascinating stories of his more than two decades of guiding groups in the Emerald Isle.

He went out of his way to see that each of us was well taken care of at meals and lodgings, which were well selected. Philip even taught us a little Irish and so we tell him "Maith thú" (Well done)!
