It was more than what we expected. The tour guide, Jerry, made it very convenient, she was always available to answer questions during the trip and she was very informative. We kept to the schedule of the intinerary and even got a couple of extra stops! Overall outstanding value. This was our first escorted tour. It won't be our last!

The tour guide in Bangkok was friendly and very informative. Our guide in Phuket went out of her way to help me set up a dive boat so I could enjoy scuba diving over there.

Just wanted to send you a quick note on our Vietnam trip. We had a wonderful time. It's such a beautiful country with so much to see and do. The people were very friendly and would come up to us as we were walking around town to practice their English and ask us questions about ourselves. Also, our tour guide, Hung, was exceptional. He was a really personable guy. He was very organized and helpful. He would always take time to point out interesting things he would see as we were walking around or on the bus riding from place to place. Everything went so smoothly and the time passed too quickly. Thank you again for all of your help in setting up this trip for us. It was awesome. I'll be in touch when we're ready to go exploring again

WOW, what an experience!

We were blessed with an excellent guide for both segments who handled our group with tremendous patience given the fact that some were not experienced travelers to developing countries. She made decisions for the greater good of the group and we are grateful for her expertise and wisdom.

My wife, Clara, and I are frequent world travelers yet this was our first Gate 1 experience. We were very pleased and will shortly finalize our booking for another. We have fond memories of incredible sites in India and seeing Mount Everest by plane on an optional excursion.

Thank you for developing such an incredible itinerary and for hiring a competent tour director that was clearly respected by every local guide we encountered and by my wife and me.

Returned a few days ago from the 12-Day Affordable Vietnam tour. My experience with Gate 1, and its agents in Vietnam, was most satisfying from beginning to end.

I originally learned of Gate 1 from an article in Frommer's and contacted Karina in February 2006, and she was most pleasant, informative, and patient during that call and several thereafter. She deserves a special thanks.

My tour guide in Vietnam was Nguyen, a PhD, and he was an unexpected treat. He spoke excellent English; he was pleasant, prompt and courteous at all times; he efficiently managed all aspects of our tour; and he was most educational in matters concerning local and national history, local and national economics, and the "way of life" for both country and city dwellers --- not just in one area of the country, but in all areas that we visited. I strongly recommend that Gate 1 specifically request his services at every opportunity.

Several members of my tour group had been customers of Gate 1 for earlier tours. I now understand their loyalty, and have joined their ranks in recommending Gate 1.

We, all 7 of us, had a great time and we loved every minute of our trip. Everything went so smoothly. We made some new friends from around the States and from Australia. Many thanks for the wonderful trip I had to Thailand. The guide, Penny, was FANTASTIC! She was always pleasant, very helpful and very informative throughout my vacation.

The Hotels were great, the temples were all amazing and, of course, the King's Castle was out of this world. The neatest thing was the Elephant Camp. They painted pictures I couldn't believe - they were so clever.

Last, but not least, my wonderful travel agent Kimber suggested adding on 3 days to go to Phuket - which I did - and had the most relaxing 3 days ever.

Thank-you once again Gate 1 for a wonderful time.

P.S I am now looking forward to my next vacation to IRELAND!

We had the most amazing time!! I was ready to stay forever. The tour was fantastic and the three guides, Penny, Pensy and Jamie were wonderful. They took such good care of us. The driver and the bus helper, Bert were so sweet and helpful. I have never been on an escorted vacation before but it was an A+ in my book. We will definitely do it again. Thailand was beautiful and the people were so welcoming. I would highly recommend the three guides, all the drivers and the bus helpers for raises!! They went so far above and beyond they felt like family by the end of the trip. This was the best experience and we will be getting to you soon to book our vacation for next year. It was AWESOME. I swore many years ago that I would NEVER take a tour. All tour participants looked to me to be a bunch of funny looking Americans, talking loudly, offending everybody, herded like sheep - I saw many such groups as a child growing up in Mexico City.

The fact is that we were all well-behaved, well-received - I attribute this to your staff in Thailand who have developed good working relationships with local organizations and people, - respectful of the culture - with some education and prompting by your staff, - and had more fun than anybody should. The highlight for me was the Elephant tour and rides.

Pensri was our bus guide, and she was really something. She was well informed, helpful, had a sense of humor, knew our culture, and kept us all out of trouble.

Thank you for the great trip to Thailand. I truly enjoyed myself, learned a lot, ate way too much (I fell in love with noodles), and I intend to go back next year.

Just wanted to let you know we had another fabulous vacation.

Tomm and I have been traveling annually for the past 20 years, and the Gate 1 experiences we have had for the past two years surpass every other vacation we've ever taken. This includes multiple trips to Mexico, Britain, France, Greece, Italy, Belgium, Germany and China. The quality of the tour guide as well as the accommodations have been superior overall to our other tour experiences. And you're cheaper.

I just had to write to tell you how pleasantly surprised I was with my recent Gate 1 tour, Affordable India. This was my first time to India and I had no idea what to expect. For a very reasonable rate, Gate 1 provided very nice hotel accommodations, a manageable itinerary, comfortable transportation, and a very charming and knowledgeable tour guide. I strongly felt as if I got more than my money's worth on this tour. And what a great way to see so many things in such a short time. I will highly recommend Gate 1 to my friends.

Our trip to Hong Kong was great! Everything went according to plan. We met two other Gate 1 visitors in the hotel on the last day of our visit. The B.P. International Hotel was very good. Our room was very comfortable. The daily breakfast was a nice combination of Asian, European and American selections.

The staff was very helpful and always pleasant. They spoke English, so communication was no problem. Taxis are very inexpensive and were always available in front of the hotel. We would definitely stay at the hotel again, and recommend it to others. It was in a good location next to Kowloon park, which was a beautiful and fun place to walk through.

Our airport transfer was there to meet us at the airport when we arrived.

We look forward to traveling with Gate 1 again.

I took my 18-year-old daughter and 21-year-old son with me to Bangkok through Gate 1 and we had a WONDERFUL time! I have been singing the praises of Gate 1 Travel ever since. I have been looking for a good, independent tour group that provides inexpensive air and hotel service with the option of adding side tours and Gate 1 was perfect. Your staff was courteous and helpful when I changed my plans to include my son a week after making my original reservation and in answering any questions I had along the way. Gate 1 works for my 18 year-old daughter as well as my 78-year-old parents. There is no doubt that we will use you again.
