DAY 4, Thursday - Coral Castle, Little Havana
This morning travel back towards the main land via the Card Sound Road, passing the popular Alabama Jacks restaurant to join a guided tour of the Coral Castle on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places. Also known as Rock Gate Park, the castle was constructed of megalithic stones of limestone formed from coral, giving the structure its name. The sheer size and precision of the castle, carved by just one man, has left the site steeped in mystery and conspiracy theories of the supernatural. Continue towards Miami to visit the neighborhoods of Coconut Grove and Little Havana where you will have time for lunch on your own. Moving forward to the city of Miami Beach, spread out over numerous natural and man-made barrier islands. Drive by Star Island, a man-made sand dredged island built in the early 20th century. The tour will also view South Pointe Park, considered to be the southernmost point of the South Beach neighborhood. South Pointe covers 17-acres and was recently renovated to include its wide walkways constructed of native Florida limestone. The area offers expansive views of downtown Miami, the Atlantic Ocean and Biscayne Bay. Continue to Miami Beach’s Art Deco district, a U.S historic district, also located in the South Beach before reaching your hotel in the Sunny Isles. Enjoy a farewell dinner this evening
