    Itinerary

DAY 1, Saturday - Arrive in Phoenix
Arrive in Phoenix and transfer to your hotel. Balance of the day at leisure
    Overnight: Phoenix

DAY 2, Sunday - Sedona, Grand Canyon National Park
Wake up early to meet your tour in the lobby at 7:30 am. Travel through the Sonoran Desert, the richest, most biologically diverse desert ecosystem in the Americas, replete with thousands of species of animals and plants, including the towering Saguaro cacti. The Saguaro is the magnificent symbol of the Desert Southwest, capable of growing to 50 feet tall. Continue to Sedona and see the spectacular red rock scenery. Situated in a unique geological area, Sedona is encircled by distinctive red-rock monoliths– with such names as Cathedral, Coffee Pot, Bell, and even Snoopy. Then drive through the breathtaking Oak Creek Canyon before arriving at Grand Canyon National Park, one of the seven great natural wonders of the world. Visit lookout points along the South Rim to fully experience this mile deep canyon – plunging gorges, rising spires, extinct volcanoes and below the rim, the winding Colorado River
    Overnight: Grand Canyon National Park

DAY 3, Monday - Monument Valley, Lake Powell
Today your tour will take you to the Navajo Indian Reservation, passing the trading post of Cameron. Continue through the Painted Desert to see Monument Valley, an area that embodies perhaps the most definitive and iconic images of the American West. The isolated red mesas and sand-swept buttes of Monument Valley have been photographed and filmed countless times for movies and advertisements. Because of this, many visitors often feel an instant familiarity with the landscape, a sense of déjà vu. In the afternoon, we will enter the town of Page, in the Lake Powell Region. Visit the mighty Glen Canyon Dam, the second highest concrete-arch dam in America. From here you’ll enjoy views of stunning Lake Powell
    Overnight: Page

DAY 4, Tuesday - Lake Powell, Bryce Canyon National Park
Enter the Beehive state of Utah this morning. Pass through the town of Kanab before visiting spectacular Bryce Canyon, where a tour through a multicolored world of sandstone spires and pinnacles will dazzle the eye. Nature’s artistry has created rocks in thousands of shapes, sizes and colors, beautiful in their setting against the unusually deep blue sky. Enjoy the evening at leisure
    Overnight: Bryce Canyon

DAY 5, Wednesday - Zion National Park, Las Vegas
Travel today to Zion National Park and see the massive rock formations carved by wind, time, and the Virgin River. This afternoon experience the contrast of Las Vegas, Nevada – the dazzling “Entertainment Capital of the World,” where round-the-clock shopping, nightly shows, and of course gambling are available. Once an oasis en route to California, Las Vegas began as a Mormon settlement and boomed during the silver rush. Today Las Vegas is one of the great gambling capitals of the world
    Overnight: Las Vegas

DAY 6, Thursday - Las Vegas
Today is at leisure for you to enjoy the many attractions that Las Vegas has to offer. In addition to world-class shopping, bustling casinos, and Broadway-caliber shows, you might simply stroll the famous Strip taking in its amazing sights and sounds, or lie by the pool at your hotel, soaking up the sun. Make sure to bring your appetite, as Las Vegas boasts some of the country’s top restaurants
    Overnight: Las Vegas

DAY 7, Friday - Death Valley en route to Mammoth Lakes**
Having enjoyed the fast pace of glamorous Las Vegas, it will be a sharp contrast this afternoon to enter the quiet and extreme environment of Death Valley. Situated in between some high and distant mountain ranges, this is by far the hottest spot on your journey! Stop at Zabriskie Point and Furnace Creek Ranch before continuing across the valley and ascending the Sierra Nevada Mountains to the alpine resort town of Mammoth Lakes**. Mammoth Mountain was formed over 200,000 years ago as a series of volcanic eruptions. The area gained prominence as a gold mining town in the 19th century, but today it’s the skiing terrain and beautiful mountain vistas that attract visitors from near and far
    Overnight: Mammoth Lakes**

DAY 8, Saturday - Yosemite National Park
A short drive brings you over the Tioga Pass** high in the Sierras into the scenic wonderland of Yosemite National Park. The park is home to a truly spectacular collection of waterfalls - most famously Bridalveil Falls - as well as groves of giant sequoias, the planet’s largest living things. Within the park, you will see the majestic, glacial-shaped granite formations of El Capitan (called “Shooting Star” by the Native Americans) and Half Dome, which rise from the valley floor
    Overnight: Modesto

DAY 9, Sunday - San Francisco
Depart early this morning, crossing the Oakland Bay Bridge to arrive in San Francisco, one of the most beloved cities in America. Commence a sightseeing tour of the “City by the Bay”, including such sights as Fisherman's Wharf, Union Square, Chinatown, Golden Gate Bridge and Park, and The Castro District. Enjoy the balance of the day at leisure
    Overnight:San Francisco

DAY 10, Monday - Day at Leisure in San Francisco
The whole day is at leisure in San Francisco. Standing on a hilltop, watching the fog swirl in through the Golden Gate, it is easy to understand why many consider San Francisco the most beautiful city in America. The crest of many of the city's hills, particularly Twin Peaks, afford matchless views of Downtown San Francisco and the East Bay. Your tour guide is on hand to assist with making your plans for the day – perhaps a cable car ride to Fisherman's Wharf, or a stroll and some shopping around Union Square. Other must-see attractions include Alcatraz, the San Francisco Zoo, Haight-Asbury and the Mission District
    Overnight: San Francisco

DAY 11, Tuesday - Monterey, Carmel and the Central Coast
Depart San Francisco this morning for the drive to the Monterey Peninsula, known for its enclave of magnificent homes and lovely beaches. In Monterey, visit Fisherman’s Wharf and famous Cannery Row. Then tour charming Carmel-by-the-Sea, noted for its quaint houses, upscale art galleries and unique stores. In the afternoon continue to drive south through Paso Robles, home of cowboys and wineries and end the day in a quaint Central California Coast town
    Overnight: Pismo Beach

DAY 12, Wednesday - Santa Barbara en route to Los Angeles
Journey south through the Santa Ynez Valley into Santa Barbara, where palm-lined walkways border white sandy beaches. Stop for lunch here, and enjoy the Spanish heritage and architecture. Upon arrival in Los Angeles this afternoon, you will enjoy a comprehensive sightseeing tour through the “City of Angels,” including such famous sights as the Hollywood Walk of Fame, Rodeo Drive, the Sunset Strip, and Santa Monica, before reaching your hotel
    Overnight: Los Angeles

DAY 13, Thursday - Return Home
Your tour ends upon check out from your hotel. Transfer to the airport by hotel shuttle for your departure flight
