This is an active trip. This program covers a lot of ground each day, and we spend most of our time driving over roads that are often rough and bumpy in safari vehicles that cannot be air conditioned. Only "bush toilets" are available during game drives. We have many early mornings. Electricity for our camps is provided by generator and may not be available 24 hours a day. Visitors to Kenya are required to carry proof of Yellow Fever vaccination if traveling through or from a country with risk of yellow fever, and are encouraged to consult their health care providers regarding malaria prophylaxis. We suggest you check with your health-care provider before signing up for this tour. Some of our tours require walking or stairs between tents. Safari vehicles require agility to embark and disembark.

Our trip was awesome. It exceeded our expectations in service, accommodations, game drives and just plain fun. Our guide, Joel, was outstanding. Despite one game drive being almost totally rained out we saw more animals than I ever expected. We saw the "big 5" twice except for the rhino. A truly wonderful experience. Five star +++.Frances P. Hendersonville, NC
My trip was absolutely wonderful, a trip of a life time. Hard to put into words what I saw. Our tour guide Francis, made sure we saw a the Big 7 and more. I wasn't sure what to expect, but any expectations I had were exceeded!! Thank you Gate 1 for the experience.Lisa G. Springboro, OH
The trip was nothing as expected - of course I'm not sure what I expected. It was a life changing experience. Your staff in Nairobi were spectacular, our guide Frances was exceptional! We will certainly take many many many more trips with Gate 1Elizabeth C. Bronxville, NY
I had the pleasure of going on a safari through Gate 1. Our group was divided between two vehicles and Tony and Francis were our guides. They make an incredible team! They work very well together spotting the animals, taking turns being the lead vehicle and allowing adequate time for photos. They kept the group together, so that we shared the experiences. Both were very knowledgeable and able to answer all our questions. I was in Tony's vehicle. He has such a positive demeanor. He was just a pleasure to be around. I appreciate his passion for his profession and his personal interest in seeing animals. He is able to spot and recognize animals at a distance and find a road to get us closer. I think he was almost as excited as I was to see the leopard - and it was my first time! I told him he deserved a raise for finding it. The leopard was in the shade and I never would have seen it! He was patient and kind, repeating names of birds and animals, as well as phrases in Swahili, so we could learn. I can't say enough good things about him! Great experience! I will certainly recommend this trip and these guides to my friends!Karen K. Carmel, IN
The trip to Kenya was wonderful. I finally have a favorite destination to
visit. The people, wildlife and culture causes one to really reflect on just how
life is outside of our own circle. The people are so friendly and the scenery is
beautiful. The wildlife is magnificent.
Mercy & George with Gate 1 are the best. They took excellent care of us. George is the best Safari guide in Kenya. He is a good person and just an all around great guy.
The resorts visited were very nice. I have recommended this trip to everyone I talk to that will listen to me.
My trip was fantastic! I have wanted to do go on a safari trip to Africa for a long time and this met all my expectations. I went to see the big cats and I saw lots of lions, a couple of cheetahs and a leopard in a tree. I loved it! The hostess in Nairobi, Marci, was very helpful and our guide Daniel was also fantastic. This was my first time travelling with Gate 1 and they met all of my expectations. I travelled with several people who have used Gate 1 frequently in the past and they had lots of great things to say about Gate 1. I couldn't have asked for more on this trip -- it was great!!Jennifer C. South Lebanon, OH
Amazing! Yet another great Gate 1 Adventure/tour. Already looking for my next tour! Now my entire family is hooked and if all works out time wise, we may all be booking a tour together soon. Our tour guide/driver in Africa, Rafael, was fantastic and all the hotel/lodges were amazing and the food was great!!Julie E. Van Nuys, CA
The trip was awesome, a once in a lifetime experience. We saw loads of
animals and the accommodations were as expected. The Gate 1 personnel were
knowledgeable and went out of their way to be helpful, particularly in light of
the Nairobi airport fire. James, our guide; Daniel, our driver; and Peter in the
local office were available whenever we needed them. All in
all a great adventure.
It was the most AWESOME trip I've ever taken!! It FAR exceeded my expectations! The accommodations were great, very clean & with a wonderful staff, and the food was always excellent.
