My trip to China and Tibet was great. Our tour manager Ivy was exceptionally good and made this trip even more special. Her attention to details was amazing. This was the smallest group I have ever traveled with and I loved it as it allowed us to experience many things that wouldn't have been possible for a large group. Loved all the local guides as well. Loved the country, food and all the accommodations .. Would love to go back and experience more of this amazing country.
Agamani S. Lawrence, KS
It was excellent! The whole experience far surpassed our expectations. Our guide was knowledgeable, friendly and took great care to make sure that everyone had a great time. He also had a lot of patience with the different personalities on the trip. We came away with a greater knowledge of China and its people. Six of us traveled together, we all will recommend this trip to friends and family, especially with our guide Jason.
Mary T. Collegeville, PA
Really interesting and eye opening. I found some of the preconceived notions I had about China were baseless and there were other things I had no idea about. I feel like I have a deeper understanding about life there, what they pride themselves in, and how they’re collectively working towards the future. Our tour manager Jason Yin was fantastic and did an amazing job at accommodating to individual needs and being as inclusive as possible. I look forward to doing it again in a few years to see how much has changed city-wise and culturally.
Mark V. Concord, NC
All I have to say it was a amazing trip. Our tour guide was very nice. and he was very patient with us his name is Tom Tang. We also had another young lady in Xian and her name is Jennie. She was also amazing ... While in China Tom T. took care of everything from passports to airline tickets he went all the way with us until the end ... Its was a very nice experience in China and the Great Wall was amazing to climb it. So if this email is going to be published and anyone thinking about going to China do it. Don't think about it it is amazing and the service with Gate 1 is great to. I would not think about it twice to booked another trip with Gate 1.
Guillermina P. Chula Vista, CA
Without a doubt, the China/Tibet trip that I participated in was FANTASTIC! ... I am recommending them to family and friends. Having been on larger trips over the years, I must say that accommodating so few travelers afforded us greater mobility, and many chances to interact with each other ... Special, special thanks to Jenny and Frank for answering my neverending questions, offering so many local tidbits and gems, and enduring my versions of the languages. This trip was one that I wanted to experience for years, and it was everything that I expected and more ... Thanks again to everyone for my Chinese/Tibetan memories.
Julianna B. Westerville, OH
This was our first trip with Gate1 and to China ... Getting a taste of China was a real eye opener for us and your company's service made it a very enjoyable experiance. Our main tour guide Ivy was fantastic and we really enjoyed Tom in Shanghai at the end ... Gate1 appears to have a very good service oriented corporate culture and employees we've interacted with appear to like working for your company. We thought the trip was a great value and will definitely look to Gate1 for our next tour. Keep up the good work.
David V. White Lake, MI
We had a wonderful time. I just wanted to commend our guide, Jason Yin, for his excellent management of our tour. He is very knowledgeable and friendly and he took excellent care of all our needs. But more than that, he is very creative and went beyond what is required of a tour manager by creating additional activities and providing information that allowed our group to better understand and appreciate the people and culture of China. He is a natural at this business and you should never let him get away.
Stephen S. Midwest City, OK
I would like to add that EVERYONE on our trip to China was over-the-top crazy about our tour manager, Louise. She could not have been more professional or more caring ... She never seemed to tire of our endless questions! ... Another guide was taking us to the airport for our trip home, but when Louise's flight was cancelled, she made a point to find us in a very busy airport. I can't say enough wonderful things about her. I consider her a friend and tears were shed when we had to say good-bye!
Elizabeth G. McDonough, GA.
My trip to China with Gate1 was spectacular in every respect, especially because of our tour manager, Maggie Zhu. I have spoken to my fellow travelers on the trip, most of whom are very experienced travelers, and some of whom I feel will be lifelong friends...they unanimously agree that thanks to Maggie Zhu this was truly the trip of a lifetime. China is of course an incredible country to explore, but Maggie Zhu's people skills are phenomenal - she was always thorough, clear, patient, detailed, understanding, resourceful, meticulous, reliable, dependable, proactive, helpful and funny, and she possesses an encyclopedic knowledge of China, its rich history, people, traditions, culture, economy, society, customs, norms and values that she readily shared with us in spectacular English with great aplomb, humor, and clarity. Based on this trip I will definitely be further exploring the world and traveling with Gate 1 in the future.
Michael L. Berkeley, CA
It was the best!! From tour guide Rose, local guides, drivers, hotels, meals and airline business class. We will be using gate 1 again.

Trip was great - our guide Jason was fantastic - loved all of tour - only wish it would have included one more day in shanghai for individual time, shopping etc think everyone in our group felt like they would have liked to stay in shanghai one more day for some free time!! It was wonderful. My daughter and I had the best tours of all the beautiful sites and on or about the cities. The hotel accommodations and the tour bus rides were very comfortable and the breakfast buffet were exceptional choices. Our tour guide Yuan is the best He made sure everyone is having a great time and exceptionally patient and kind. He was very entertaining and shared us all his knowledge about the country, its people and cultures. Yuan enriched our minds about China as a whole and we could not have been very happy and lucky to have him as our tour guide. I highly recommend him as a tour guide and this trip was well worth every dollar!

Our trip was amazing! Melinda, our guide, was the best guide ever. She really needs to be promoted and recognized for her efforts and her professional, positive leadership. She really works hard to ensure the group has the best experiences, take care of her! She's very organized and knowledgeable about the history, culture, region, finds fun things to do, and keeps the group moving to get the most out of the time left in the day. Highly recommend her, very gracious person. George did a good job too, very interesting person and can tell he too loves his career. We loved Gate 1 and so does she. You all did a great job.

I am still telling everyone about how VAST China is: cleanliness, airports, underground, rail stations, countryside, Terracotta Warriors, the cities, the Bund, the Dam, the Gorges....and yet all so approachable with our excellent tour guide and the others who joined us along the way. It was a wonderful experience!

Our trip was all we expected. We anticipated seeing the Great Wall, the Pandas, the Terracotta Warriors and experiencing the westernized look of Shanghai. All of those places did not disappoint us. We were completely amazed when we visited the park in Xian and joined in with local people as they celebrated their holiday. This stop was among the best memories of the trip. I have to say that the leadership and guidance we received from our guide, Jason, was the best we've had from our three trips with Gate 1. (The leadership of the men in the other two tours with Gate 1 we've taken were great, also.)

The trip was excellent as all four of our Gate One trips. I can’t imagine getting better value from any other travel company. First our guide Jason was top notch. We give him our top rating. He was patient, knowledgeable, and an excellent leader. Second, the hotels we stayed at were beautiful and well located. We have never stayed in a hotel room as nice as the Golden Hotel. We are looking forward to our Gate One trip to Morocco, in June.

I really enjoyed myself. Susan was great as a tour guide. She went above and beyond to help me out in a situation that came up.The trip to China was awesome! I already recommended several of my friends to check Gate 1 out. I’ll be taking another trip soon! Thanks for reaching out.

I just completed the online survey, but want to say more about our tour guide, Rosie. She was fantastic in every way. She made the value of this trip even greater by sharing her knowledge of local places to eat and shop.e m Shade sure each of our meals was more than delightful. Any question was answered in a friendly and competent way. It was like being in a family with our mother Rose to show us the way. She took a personal degree of attention to every aspect of the trip. Nothing we asked was beyond her. Amazing! I can not say enough good things about her. China is an amazing place, and the quality of Gateone showed through in every aspect. There we nice touches, like taking care of our luggage, and other little extras. Not only would we do another trip with Gateone, but would ONLY do trips with you in the future. Why go anywhere else when everything is taken care of so well.
