The North Cape (HR-HVG6A)- Duration: 3 hrs– From $203

Physical Level: For all guests
Port: Honningsvag
Season: All Year

Enjoy the magnificent landscape as you cross the 71st parallel on our journey toward the North Cape, the northernmost point of the European continent. In the summer, you might come across herds of grazing reindeer and a small camp belonging to Sámi reindeer herders. In the winter, the endless white plains and snow-capped mountains are highlighted by dramatic weather and that special Arctic light. The bus has to follow the snowplow the last few miles before reaching the cape. The North Cape plateau itself rises over 1,007 feet above the Arctic Ocean. The ‘globe’ sculpture has become the symbol of the North Cape, and is always a popular place to get that all-important picture. At the North Cape Hall you can see an impressive 180° panoramic film about Finnmark and the North Cape. Inside the cliff you also find a souvenir shop, a viewpoint, a small chapel, and a Thai museum.

Fishing Village Visit (HR-HVG6H)- Duration: 2 hrs 45 min– From $158

Physical Level: For most guests, requires some physical effort
Port: Honningsvag

On the way to the fishing villages, your guide will tell you about the nature, local culture and history of the area. In Skarsvåg we will visit the Christmas and Winter House. The house has a homely atmosphere with Christmas music and decorations. Admire the locally produced ornaments and knitwear and learn about the life of a fisherman`s family in the world’s northernmost fishing village. Kamøyvær has fish processing plants, a small fishing fleet, a lighthouse and a picturesque harbor. After a short stroll in the village, it is time to visit artist Eva Schmutterer in her cozy little gallery “East of the Sun”. The exhibition contains arts and crafts inspired by Magerøya and the changing seasons. If weather permits, there will be a short photo stop by Tufjorden viewpoint, where it is possible to get a glimpse of the North Cape Horn.

Birdwatching Safari (HR-HVG6B)- Duration: 3 hrs – From $260

Physical Level: For most guests, requires some physical effort
Port: Honningsvag
Season: Apr-Aug

On this tour we travel to the small fishing village of Gjesvaer. Along the way we will receive an introduction to the local flora and fauna, before visiting one of the world's most exciting nature reserves, Gjesvaerstappan, which lies approximately 15 km west of the North Cape. From the vessel we can study Finnmark's largest flock of puffins, together with large numbers of kittiwakes. During the nesting season this area teems with life as mighty sea eagles hover above in search of prey, while guillemots, razorbills, cormorants, Arctic skuas, northern fulmars, Brunnich's guillemots, and the large northern gannet fill the air with a cacophony of shrieks and screeches. In the autumn you can also catch a glimpse of Europe's smallest seabird, the British storm-petrel.
