Our trip was wonderful! This was our 6th trip with Gate 1 and we have never been disappointed. Our tour guide thru-out, Nino, was professional and meticulous in making sure all went smoothly. The hotels were very nice as were the breakfasts. We enjoyed the location of the hotels especially in London, Paris, and Bruges. The local guides were all good - especially Tony in London and Nick in Paris. Nick was a fountain of information regarding the Palace of Versailles, Paris and French culture in general. I wish I could have had history teachers like Nick when I was in school! We took the optional Tower of London and St Paul’s Cathedral tour and the optional tour to the Palace of Versailles. Both were very interesting and informative. This tour was a good mixture of programs and free time. We could not have asked for a more pleasant and beautiful day for our last day than the one we spent in Volendam. The area was lovely and it was a treat to see the historic windmill. The stop at the cheese farm was wonderful. We enjoyed learning about gouda cheese and the wooden shoe demonstration was delightful. It is so thrilling for me to see the places I have only read about or seen in pictures and movies. Once again Gate 1 delivered with a wonderful vacation we will never forget. Thank you very much!

Enjoyed the trip immensely...  Our guide Collin was over the top "Awesome".  He would have taken our entire group 24 hours per day if we asked.  Absolutely incredible; can't say enough about his attentiveness and concern for the group at all times.

Our two tours with you have both been incredible because of the professionalism of the tour guides.  You are very fortunate to have them on your team.  Someone is doing a great job screening and hiring these incredibly talented people.

Thank you for a great vacation ... memories and new friends.

We had a wonderful time on our first Gate 1 adventure.  The hotels were well located in very nice neighborhoods close to interesting sights and places you would not want to miss.  We loved our Tour Coordinator, Arjan, who really went out of his way to help if there was anything that we needed or wanted to do.  He did a great job of sharing his home city of Amsterdam with us, explaining the history and the culture of the people and the architecture, etc.  All the included meals were excellent.  The hotel breakfasts were all you could want.  They featured eggs and meats in addition to yogurt, sometimes fruits, along with the usual European fare of wonderful rolls, croissants,  wonderful coffee, tea, and pretty much whatever you were looking for in cereals.

We like each of the hotel rooms we had, especially the Hyatt in Paris, which was 33 stories high and gave us a wonderful view of Paris including the Eiffel Tower which mesmerized us with its sparkling lights every half hour. It looked close enough to touch.

The Amsterdam Canal boat ride was fun and we loved walking around Brugge and hearing all about the Begginage  community. The village was so peaceful and lovely. Even our bus driver was wonderful.  His name was Franz and he spoke wonderful English with a bit of a Scottish accent although he was from Belgium. He was a really fun person, helping us to take photos and very interesting to talk to.

We appreciated the small tour group of only about 15 people. It made everything so much easier not to be waiting for a huge group. It meant we could travel quickly and get to know one another better. The group was nicely balanced with young and older people from all kinds of backgrounds….very enjoyable. We thought it was great value for the money we spent. I don't think we could have found such nice places to stay on our own.

My only disappointment was the plane ride which was very tight and not comfortable.  It was a long ride and the food, which you had to BUY, was not very good and was fairly pricey for the poor selection offered.  I had flown Icelandic Airline many years ago the first time I traveled to Europe, and it was so different and nicer then.  So I was expecting a much better experience. However, the important thing is that it was a safe flight and the staff was pleasant and professional.

Now that I have tried Gate 1, I will definitely book a longer trip with them next time, since I feel sure that they will take good care of us and offer a high quality of tour guides and staffing and great itineraries also.  Thanks for all your help in booking the trip from Boston.  That  made the flight less arduous and shorter.

Roberta M. Boston, MA
