Only a limited number of visitors are allowed to visit each day. Next tour St. Stephen's Basilica, the largest and most impressive church of Budapest where a relic, the mummified hand of St. Stephen, can be seen. 8 Day Christmas Markets of Germany & Austria, November 2017
Dummy Image

We had a fantastic time on our trip to the Christmas Markets. It was everything a Christmas Market trip should be. It was cold and we had snow a few times and got snowed on in the markets in Munich as well. We only had one day of rain so we were very happy about that. We had lots of hot mulled wine, bratwurst, sauerkraut, gingerbread and all things yummy at the markets and local restaurants plus enjoyed some of the beer halls along with museums, art galleries, shopping and history. Europe does Christmas so well with all the lights and the atmosphere, everywhere was lovely. Our tour guide Noel was fantastic and we also had a great group and everyone got on really well even though there were 42 of us. We will keep an eye out for other tours and expect we will also not receive Gate1 emails with tour info, specials etc.

Just returned to Sydney. Everything went very well. Excellent trip. I believe I will be getting a letter from Gate 1 soon. At that time I will highlight the most impressive things about the trip - the crew. The guides, the food and the sights we saw.

We couldn't be more pleased. The itinerary was great; the hotels were convenient and comfortable. And best of all, our tour guide, Neira, was professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. The BEST!!! Our bus driver Carbo was excellent too. This is our first Gate 1 trip. We will come back for more in the future.

Our trip was amazing!  Gate 1 provides superior customer service which includes our tour guide, Dean, and our driver, Laszlo; both of these gentlemen were courteous, polite and knowledgeable.  Our local guides were also knowledgeable and entertaining, we could not have asked for any better attention to personal needs or information.  Our tour group was comprised of people of different nationalities and cultures who got along very well.  We made friends we hope to see again.  I would recommend Gate 1 to all of my friends and look forward to my next tour.

Marvelous!!!! We travel a lot, both with organized trip companies like Gate 1 and with our own planned itineraries. Each of our trips has been unique and never once turned into a bad idea. In short we'd do them all again. Gate 1 has evolved over time to be our favorite travel company. Well done Gate 1 for each and every time.  Great value with excellent staff, hotels and excursions.  Keep up the great work.  We currently have two more trips planned with Gate 1 in the not too distant future and are looking forward to your usual level of excellence. However the Danube River with Prague and Budapest is no doubt our favorite trip ever. Gate 1 has done a superb job and your staff must be complimented.  Thanks for your effort it was appreciated greatly. While special notice is not something I usually do since the whole package takes a team effort I must compliment Sabi our tour director and Judith at reception on the Sound of Music. This is not to say that all the rest were not fantastic as each and every one can be singled out as just perfect, but these two just seemed to be there each time we talked and we talked with them a lot.  I worked for a pharmacy chain in my previous life that prided itself on it's people skills.  These two we got to know and enjoyed every moment with them.  Exceptional people pleasers as that chain would say.

Way to go Gate 1!!!!

The trip was very pleasant and everything was, as usual, well organized, planned and executed to our complete satisfaction.

We were lucky to have Robert, again, as our guide in this trip (we had him two years ago in another trip with Gate 1 Travel) his outstanding  knowledge of European history was a plus and made the trip even more enjoyable. His English sense of humor added also a lot of good and laughing moments.

I would like to mention, also, the professionalism of our driver Michael that made our trip safe and relaxed. Worth to mention also his positive attitude to help and be of service to everyone in the group. Congratulations to the Company management for having such good and dedicated professionals within its staff. Needles to mention our preference favoring always Gate 1 Travel when it comes to our traveling plans, year after year. Gentlemen this is our eleventh trip with Gate One travel (there is one missing in the records of your company)!!!.

Our trip was a real success.  Both airport and hotel shuttles were ready for us when we needed them. The hotel accommodations were top notch, with welcoming staff and excellent breakfasts, and conveniently located to historical downtown shopping areas. The tour itself was well organized, and we appreciated all the planned lunches and dinners. Our tour director--Radu--was an amazing guide, probably the BEST we will ever experience. The sites were all interesting, but Radu's accompanying commentaries were unbelievably good! He was truly a great leader/director for us, always the life of our party, bubbling with enthusiasm and overflowing with cultural information during the entire tour. He was always prepared to handle every unexpected incident.  We are so lucky to have had him and will never forget him.

Thanks Gate1.

The trip to Budapest, Vienna and Prague was wonderful.  Dean, our tour manager was fabulous.  He was knowledgeable, intelligent, funny and patient. His personality was great!   Every detail was taken care of by Dean.  He went out of his way to make each city easily navigable for everyone.  When we arrived in a city, he walked us around so we knew where we were.   He was attentive to everyone's particular needs.  The tours of each city, as well as all of the optional tours were terrific! The local tour guides were excellent. They had a wealth of knowledge about their city and incredible outgoing personalities!  The hotels were perfect!  Many areas of interest were within walking distance to the hotels.  This was our second tour with Gate 1 and we are looking forward to our next one!  Thanks Gate 1 for an incredible experience.

The trip was very good.  Bogdan, our primary guide paid attention to every detail and made everything work smoothly.  He also provided a lot of information about where we were at any point in time and a good history of life in that part of the world based on personal experience.

Our various guides for specific places we visited were also very good.  The remote speakers in which we used an earphone meant that we didn't have to stay extremely close to our guides when walking through often crowded places.  Some of the special events were particularly outstanding, especially the Danube River cruise in Budapest and the concert in Vienna.  Both my wife and I were well satisfied with all aspects of this trip.

I like to inform you my travel experience was pleasant one through out entire course. I believe it was possible due to our tour manager, Mr. Bogdan who is humorous and given precise explanation. I do thank him about well arranged schedules, hotels and excellent services.

Words cannot describe the total satisfaction I am with Gate 1 Travel.  The itinerary, Bob tour guide, Tomas our bus driver, local guides and optional tours made this trip a success. (the hotels/meals included were also a plus)

I am looking forward to my next trip with you.  You offer a wide variety to choose from, therefore my bucket list is overflowing.

May Gate 1 Travel continue to make dreams come true.
