Our trip to Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro was amazing, great, terrific etc.! We had the best tour guide, Darko, but it seems we always have "the best tour guide"! We have decided Gate 1 only hires the best! There were 6 of us ladies traveling together and we all had the best time! Bus was clean and nice, the driver (Robert) was excellent, the local guides were very engaging and informative. Everywhere we went it seemed Gate 1 travelers were treated like First Class Tourists! Oh, the hotels were so very nice and the one in Bled gave us all lake view rooms! WOW! I am impressed with every trip with how well things are organized, everything goes like clock-work. Gate 1 knows how to entertain, transport, accommodate, educate and show off every country. We love Gate 1 and already have another trip planned!

The trip was wonderful! We had an absolutely amazing vacation... special thanks to our exceptional tour manager, Blaz, and driver Stepian who made the trip ever so much more excellent. Blaz was so organized, and fun, knowledgeable, took great care of us making sure we had an amazing trip. He fostered camaraderie among our 41 'random' travelers to make the trip ever so much more wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11-day adventure through Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. The countryside was terrific, an ambitious itinerary that worked because Blaz kept us on schedule, knew how to run a tour better than any tour guide we've ever had. We were also very lucky with the weather and had perfect days. Please extend our thanks to Blaz again. Also Stepian was a superb driver.. the team worked perfectly. We look forward to future Gate1 travels and hope all your tour guides provide the same level of service as they did.

The trip was great - beautiful scenery, nice bus ride with good driver, nice hotels; most of all, the Tour Manager - Tina has done a fantastic job. She tended every little details and coordination, connected with tour members very well, provided very thorough information of each tour spot and history of the countries visited, her American English is very good, easy to understand, she also has a good sense of humor, she managed the tour smoothly and joyful, extra credit to her. We have reserved 5 more tours with Gate 1 Travel after this trip, hope all will be as joyful as this one.

We enjoyed every aspect of our Gate 1 journey. The Aloha Princess experience was awesome. Accommodations, food, itinerary and crew were beyond our expectations. And after the cruise, the itinerary which continued on to Opatija and Venice could not have been better. The hotels, transportation and itinerary were managed seamlessly. We enjoyed learning about the local cities and attractions with local tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable. The tours were conducted at a good pace. Most of our enjoyable experience however, was due to our wonderful tour director, Bruna Justinac. Bruna was the epitome of an excellent organizer and group leader. She was very well prepared, professional and exceedingly helpful. Being a native Croat, Bruna was forthright in sharing her experiences with her country's culture and history. She was generous with her time and went out of her way to satisfy the needs of all travelers in our group. This is my first time booking a trip with Gate 1 but I've been on many group tours with other companies. I've always had an enjoyable experience, but this tour in particular was hands down the very best. Much of that excellent experience was due to Bruna's commitment to ensuring that every group member had a fabulous time. If all Gate1 tours are as wonderful as this one was, I will not hesitate to book again and recommend the company to my family and friends. Kudos to an excellent itinerary, excellent accommodations and EXCELLENT tour guide!

Our trip was absolutely wonderful. I can honestly say that it has been the best group tour experience I've had so far. The main reason why our trip was so excellent is because of our tour manager Peter. Peter is everything we could have asked for in a tour guide and more; he is knowledgeable, organized, caring, thoughtful, personable, entertaining, and engaging. He was able to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer every question that members of the tour group had asked about tough and sensitive subjects regarding the countries of the former Yugoslavia. His knowledge base really impressed me as it encompassed everything from U.S. and world history, politics, culture, geography, geology, and linguistics. He was also very engaging as he related stories from the past to entertain us. He also made sure the group was well cared for. Additionally, he went above and beyond to make sure our dietary wishers (my wife and I follow a vegan diet), were met. I simply cannot praise Peter enough. The travel itinerary was also wonderful. I really enjoyed each of the places that we visited. The history, architecture, and culture of each city and destination was so interesting to me. The hotels that we had stayed in were very nice and exceed my expectations. The tour bus was also very comfortable. This was our first Gate 1 tour and it definitely will not be our last.

FANTASTIC!!!!!! Loved every minute. Must sing the praises of Sandy (Croatia & Slovenia) who is the most efficient tour guide we have ever met; Gioia (Venice), who was a fantastic bundle of energy and knowledge; and Milos the bus driver, who had the patience of a saint. Trip was full and very well planned. A fantastic value for the money. Although there were two buses and 80 people it was so well coordinated that the groups managed to stay out of each others way. We have over 1000 pictures to go through and even more happy memories. This trip is a GEM. We have been on many many tours and this one ranks among the best of them.

This was my first Gate 1 trip (or any guided tour) and it was fantastic! There was the perfect balance of planned group activities, and independent time to explore on our own. Our tour guide Kristijan was beyond great. Not only is he extremely knowledgeable but he also did a great job at keeping the group flowing well. Our driver, Igor, navigated the tiny streets like a pro! I am already browsing the website to find my next trip! Thank you for an amazing time in Croatia, Gate 1!

Elvis, Gate 1 Tour Leader, was leader extraordinaire. I have worked in the hospitality & service arena for over 40 years. He went "above and beyond" his duties as a "tour leader". We saw him help couples that made their "own" flight arrangements (Lufthansa snafus to add into the mess) well into the LATE night with early wake-ups the next day. Elvis ensured EVERYONE was taken care of to the best possible means. We have been on 8 tours (not all Gate 1) now and, by far, Elvis was the BEST leader we have ever had. He could come up with the best local recommendations regarding restaurants, what to do in our free time, and what local product we "must" try. He was consistently on the money. We were in countries that have had a turbulent past with some still "fresh wounds"; however, he was able to present the history in a way not to offend anyone...most diplomatic. Whatever you do, KEEP HIM ON BOARD AT GATE 1!!! Mario, our fearless bus driver. My husband is from Europe and I was living in Europe for 4 years. How he was able to navigate the typical small European streets/alleys was beyond belief. On the autobahns, he had his foot consistently on the gas pedal...no jerking movements nor quick braking. Mario was definitely intuned with his position as a driver. Again, whatever you do, KEEP HIM ON BOARD AT GATE 1!!! The local guides...I can't remember all their names as I left my travel journal on the international flight and American Airlines has yet to retrieve it, however, two stand out. Nada, our local guide in Pula, was able to take near pre-historic history, bring it back to us, interacting with the entire group to make us active participants in the tour. Bravo, Nada! Then Jasmina in Ljubljana...she had the most difficult task of leading the tour in the last city on this trip. Again, Gate 1's expertise never failed us as she brilliantly showed us this unexplored gem of a city. All the local guides were exceptional and Elvis's pre/post talks after the tours further enriched our experiences. Gate 1 staff...thanks ever so much for organizing the 15th Anniversary gift on 23 November. We had a VERY small wedding (two of us and the German Justice of Peace), moved on our wedding day into new apartment, and have never had that "1st dance" in 15 years. My husband is 13 years older than I am and I beat Stage 4 tonsil cancer nearly 4 years ago so this was the most special part of the trip for us. My husband has ALWAYS told me that I had to see the Croatian coast and enter Venice by boat...we did that, just not in our small sailboat. Furthermore, I was able to see where my husband practiced as a Yugoslavian military medical doctor (1960's) in Montenegro. When I was assigned to Germany, I could not meet his mother nor visit his home land as we were dropping bombs on Belgrade. This trip brought so many stories of his to life. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!!! The meals, optional tours and accommodations were fantastic, again, BRAVO. So how was the trip...beyond words and one of the most beautiful & delightful trips we have ever had. Continue to provide the top-notched service you have done on this trip. Now, if I could get American Airlines to work with me on finding my journal. Until the next journey...

Beyond FABULOUS !!!! We saw sites we never imagined, learned so much about the gorgeous country of Croatia, ate delicious new food choices and had such fun. Our tour guide, Jasmina, could not have been more knowledgeable, personable or perfect. The optional side trips were places and experiences we would not have wanted to miss. We enjoyed perfect weather conditions, which we are told was pure luck but wonderful all the same because our pictures are treasures. We were celebrating our fiftieth wedding anniversary (two years late) and will forever feel blessed by the entire experience. Thank you and we send best wishes for a happy holiday season.

We had a wonderful trip! As this was our first Gate 1 experience, we weren't quite sure what to expect, but we have been telling everyone we would definitely recommend Gate 1 and would take another trip with them. The trip was organized down to the last detail. We enjoyed all of our guides, and our tour manager Gabrijela and our bus driver Miljenko were phenomenal! And even though we extended our tour in Venice, we were not forgotten. Our guide Gioia emailed special instructions for our transfer on our last evening and even ordered a wake-up call for us! Thank you, Gate 1, for a fabulous vacation!

Our trip was fantastic! The Croatian coast was absolutely spectacular....so much more beautiful than we expected. All of the sights, local guides, and optional tours were great and lots of fun. Our tour director, Sandra, was very knowledgeable and one of the sweetest and best guides we have ever had on our trips with Gate 1. Our bus driver, Nano, was also very professional and experienced. He got us safely to our destinations with a smile and friendly attitude. Thank you for your assistance too. We definitely plan to use Gate 1 in the future.

Our trip was another success thanks to your planning and accommodations! Our guide, Peter, was a fantastic guide and personality who made the entire trip fun, informative, and safe. We regard Peter as possibly our best guide of the 8 Gate 1 tours we've taken. Our bus driver was incredibly skilled at his job and kept us on schedule for all our stops. The Croatian coastline scenery--water and mountains-- was more beautiful than I could have imagined. The hotel accommodations and breakfasts were top notch. Pula and Dubrovnik were our favorite destinations, and the airport and hotel transfers were all reliable and on time! Thanks so much again! We would not use any other travel company than Gate 1.

My husband and I had a great trip. The countries we visited were very nice and beautiful scenery. Our tour guide (Peter, his Gate 1 name) was very professional and extremely knowledgeable. He was professional, but made us all feel individually that we had his attention. His personality was professional but at the same time he was funny, nice and caring. The bus driver was an awesome driver and he also was very professional.

The trip was very good. I've been recommending Gate1 and the Croatia/Slovenia trip to all my friends. My husband and I were very impressed by the way Gate 1 organized our trip. Thank you !! Our trip was WONDERFUL !! Our guide, Edo, was great … He tried hard to make sure all our needs were met. His running narration (& first hand experiences living in Croatia) kept us well informed on may aspects of the country and its history. The countries … Mostly Croatia, but also Montenegro & Slovenia … Were beautiful & well worth seeing. Except for our last touring day (rain storm while touring in Lublijana) the weather cooperated … making our touring enjoyable !! Food was all good … Even the fellow tour people were quite likable & fun. I would definitely recommend this trip to anyone !! Thanks !!

Thanks again for a truly wonderful vacation and special kudos to Juge, the tour guide. I'm looking forward to my next scheduled Gate 1 trip to Morocco and looking at Peru and Thailand.

Wow! It was great! This was our 3rd time with Gate 1 and the best trip kept coming. The airline, transfers, hotels, coach, food, tours, everything is amazing and organized very well. Our tour guide Bruna was terrific, very knowledgeable and did everything to make everyone's time pleasant. We like it when she goes from front to back of the coach to show the map of the places to go. Mario, our driver, is excellent. He surprised us with a big box of tangerines, a brandy to taste, and dried figs from his family, on our way to Montenegro. We won' forget the surprise and enjoyable free dinner from Gate 1 at Epetium restaurant in Zadar, Croatia. We were soaked from the rain in some days but this did not stop us from creating great memories and finding new friends. We will definitely travel with Gate 1 again and again. More power!

It was great and I will highly recommend to our friends! The Gate 1 itinerary was just the right combination of nature and "old" things to do and see. The location choice for the optional dinner by the beach was excellent. Our driver (Drauko?) drives and appearance a true professional. Our tour guide Maja is the best, helpful, enjoys her job, and quite knowledgeable - an asset for Gate 1.

My experience with Gate 1 was great, from all the aspects. Our driver Milan and guide tour Ivona showed all their expertise in their own areas. Milan, is an excellent driver in all conditions in the roads, he also has a very polite and pleasant personality. He made the experience very smooth. Ivona, provide us with excellent customer service, she posses a lot of knowledge in the history of the places we visited, was very attentive to our needs and has a great sense of humor , making the trips enjoyable. I was very satisfied with everything and will definitely use Gate 1 again.
