It was SO great! Our tour manager Dominique took great care of us. She always had time for any questions we had, no matter what she was doing at the moment. She always had a smile and was so professional and pleasant. The accommodations were great. Meals were great. The bus was clean and we had a very good driver. Water was supplied every day. Gate 1 took great care of us!
Karen M. Seaford, DE
Our trip was wonderful ... As usual Gate 1 did a wonderful job. Our tour guide Neira was wonderful and so were the other day guides. They are amazing in their knowledge of the areas. The travel was flawless and the places we visited were amazing.
Michelle M. Ulster Park, NY
Exceptional!!!! Joanna our tour manager was outstanding. She made hand-outs, trivia contests, language lessons, tastings, DVDs, music and more. As a retired teacher, I appreciated all the extra time she put in to make her country shine. She even assisted us in finding our Polish roots. Now I know why I like to bake--my ancestors came from a town that perfected the art of making gingerbread. My sister and I do an annual adventure. We are looking forward to #8 with Gate 1 next year.
Paula D. Toledo, OH
As ALWAYS, this Gate 1 trip was absolutely AMAZING. Our guide, Fred, was the BEST. Each time I travel with Gate 1, I think the tour guide has set a new bar. Fred has exceeded that standard of excellence! He was informative, always attentive to everyone's needs and requests, and funny....so funny. Importantly, he kept us safe. He made each and every city and country come alive. In addition, the tour guides in each city were phenomenal. I understand they have a rigorous course of education and testing to become a certified tour guide....well, they too outdid themselves. The history and information that they conveyed simply cannot be garnered from tour books. The hotels were fabulous! I truly don't know how Gate 1 does it, but we could not have asked for better accommodations. And I can't forget Bart, our bus driver. At all times Bart kept us safe. He is so skilled - what an amazing driver. This was a "trip of a lifetime" for my son and I couldn't have been more pleased with the outstanding quality of the itinerary and especially of the tour guides and accommodations. THANK YOU again and again, Gate 1, for another amazing adventure! Looking forward to the next one.
Patricia S. Mesa, AZ
The trip to Poland was absolutely amazing! I know I can speak for my family and friends who accompanied me on the trip in saying the everything about the trip exceeded our expectations! We loved the food, the tours, the people, the arts and music! All were beyond wonderful! Our guide Jolanta P. was exceptionally well-versed in all things Polish and gave us an insider's view of the rich cultural heritage of Poland. We will definitely be planning another visit as well as tell all our friends about the fabulous time we had!
Catherine H. Buffalo, NY
I have to tell you that it was a MARVELOUS vacation and tour. Izabella Sliwinski has been the BEST tour guide we have ever had. She has a great personality, considerate, really concerned about the welfare of all the travelers, great suggestions of where to go when there was free time... This was our first experience with Gate 1 Travel and it will not be our last. We were impressed with the hotels chosen, the food, the hospitality of all. The driver was great, the coach was terrific. All I can say is that it was a marvelous time and Thank You for paying attention to details.
Barbara W. Sandia Park, NM
Our trip to Poland was great! Yolanta was a warm, friendly, very well-informed guide, one of the best we have had in our travels ... Franek was an amazing driver. Gate1 seems to have a knack for choosing city guides who love their city and want us to see it as they do. We learned so much about Poland, its people, and its historic cities. We were very impressed with the people and the culture, and of course, the food! Gate1 provides a wonderful experience.
Marge H. Flushing, MI
Our trip to Bulgaria, Serbia, and Romania was great! Excellent tour director, great driver, very interesting sites, good food, & a nice group of folks. Another successful Gate 1 adventure!
Bob K. Punta Gorda, FL
It was great! The cities, hotels, food, and excursions were all excellent. I really learned a lot about the history of Poland. The best part of the trip however was our tour guide. Joanne was awesome! Her knowledge of Poland really brought the country to life. She made every day fun. The tour was a bit grinding at times but Joanna kept everyone interested with her stories and humor. The tour was very good but Joanna made it exceptional.
John R. Cinnaminson, NJ
It was fantastic. Bogdan Ouhman from Warsaw Poland was our excellent guide throughout the trip. He was very professional and organized, he took care of everyone. We had a good group of people on the tour-made some new friends. Especially liked Brataslava and Prague, but all of the countries we visited were terrific. Food and hotel accommodations were centrally located and very nice...We will definitely plan on going on another Gate 1 trip in the future.
Carol M. Chevy Chase, MD
It was a fabulous vacation and I can't even begin to tell you how much fun we all had. Julia, our guide, was amazing. She knew so much about everywhere we toured and was an absolute blast and hilarious. My three friends have never been on a tour like this before and they all loved it too. We met some wonderful people and made some new friends. Loved everything about the tour and hopefully, we can plan another one next year.
Cathy K. Monroe, GA
Our trip was amazing! Dawn, our Gate1 representative, did the best job imaginable!! Everything was planned with precision and she went above and beyond the call of duty! She made sure our time in Europe was a complete success!!
Marsha M. Stanley, NC
We couldn’t have asked for a more fantastic European trip! From our wonderful accommodations, tour guide,Marc Van Reil, who was amazing, and travel ease, it was an experience which will be remembered for years to come! Of course, last but not least, was your helpfulness, knowledge, and understanding,Josh, for making this trip so uncomplicated!
Janet P. Sewell, NJ
We had a wonderful time with our group specially with the tour manager Noel Percival and the driver Adam. Noel took care of us as if we’re family. Everything was taken care of and we left on time in all of our trips. Adam drove the bus with care and precision navigating the streets which are not as wide as our street here. He also took charge of our luggages as well. As representatives of Gate1 travel, Noel and Adam worked together to make our stay an enjoyable experience. Gate1 should recommend those two on trips to Eastern Europe. Our local guides are knowledgeable of the places we visited especially the Bratislava guide Slovoda who gave as a brief history in a nutshell as well as speaking fluent English. Gate1 is number 1!
Marisal A. Union, NJ
We had a great time. Our main tour guide Michael Peir and bus driver Frank were excellent! As were our local guides in each city. I would recommend this trip, and will be looking for future Gate 1 trips.
Alicia B. Austin, TX
It was wonderful. Claire was an amazing tour guide. So knowledgeable but also incredibly friendly she really made the trip so easy. The bus was also very comfortable and a great way to see the country side between cities.
Holly S. Washington, DC
It was AWESOME. Our guide Neira was the best ever. We all thought her truly exceptional! The value was amazing and we will definitely travel with Gate 1 again based on this experience.
Susan S. Laurel Hill, FL
Barry and I had the best trip ever. With Julian's wonderful personality the days flew by so quickly fun fun all day long.he has such a wonderful knowledge of all the history of the cities we were in.The extra touches of chocolates, making sure we were all on the bus , we were taken care of like family. The hotels food excursions were so interesting we will always remember . Will take another trip with Gate 1 again.
Carmel S. St Thomas, ON, CA
We enjoyed our trip so much. I cannot speak highly enough of our tour manager, Julian, as well as our bus driver, Tibor. It was our first time to travel internationally and we found the trip to be so easy and fun. We plan on booking another trip with Gate 1 within the next couple of years.
Jackie S. Beasley, TX
Our trip to Germany was excellent! Our tour guide Noel was awesome. It couldn't have been any better.
Anne G. Chanhassen, MN
We had a fantastic time on our trip to the Christmas Markets. It was everything a Christmas Market trip should be. It was cold and we had snow a few times and got snowed on in the markets in Munich as well. We only had one day of rain so we were very happy about that. We had lots of hot mulled wine, bratwurst, sauerkraut, gingerbread and all things yummy at the markets and local restaurants plus enjoyed some of the beer halls along with museums, art galleries, shopping and history. Europe does Christmas so well with all the lights and the atmosphere, everywhere was lovely. Our tour guide Noel was fantastic and we also had a great group and everyone got on really well even though there were 42 of us. We will keep an eye out for other tours and expect we will also not receive Gate1 emails with tour info, specials etc.
Janet C. Kingsley, WA
We had a fabulous time on our Christmas Markets tour. Our tour guide was brilliant - very informative and lots of fun.
Gayle C. Duffys Forest, NSW
The trip was wonderful! Everything went smoothly and the entire experience was so enjoyable! Our tour guide, Clare Murphy, was absolutely the best! She was very clear as to what we would be doing each day, what was available for us to do, where to meet, etc. She handled our group nicely and was cognizant of the different personalities that make up tour groups. She was very well versed in the languages we encountered and obviously has a vast knowledge of the local history, culture and cuisine. We particularly enjoyed the mix of guided tours and free time to explore. Clare was most generous with her time and with providing us with local treats! We appreciated how protective she was and how safe she made us feel. She is an asset to Gate 1 Travel! Our coach driver, Erhard, was excellent and made us feel safe while in his care. His attitude was friendly and we were glad he was driving and we weren't! We were very pleased with our accommodations and were able to enjoy the last few days in Vienna with our newly married daughter and her husband....When we decide to travel again, we will certainly have Gate 1 Travel at the top of our list!
Jim S. Erie, PA
Our trip was wonderful! We thought our tour guide, Noel, was fantastic. He went above and beyond to make sure everyone was having the best trip possible. He even bought us some of the best Austrian strudel we've ever tasted. The sights we saw in Germany,Austria and Switzerland were amazing. We learned so much about history and culture from Noel and the local guides. We even made it to Oktoberfest in Munich, which was an added bonus. This is our third trip with Gate 1 and we hope to do many more with you.
Linda R. Canton, MI
Our trip was amazing. Gate 1 Travel is very lucky to have Clare. Clare was the perfect host, and my favorite of all 7 of my Gate 1 Trips. The scenery was beautiful and unforgettable. It was the perfect combination of Germany, Switzerland and Austria. Thank you for putting together an easy and perfect vacation that we will always cherish.
Donald E. Punta Gorda, FL
It was excellent!!! I thoroughly enjoyed the trip!! Hotels were centrally located, neat and clean, the one in Zermatt was the best! Our guide Monique was a gem! She was professional, knowledgeable and above all caring! I would definitely take another tour with Gate 1 and recommend it to my friends and family.
Varsha T. Havertown, PA
I had a wonderful trip to Switzerland. Our tour manager and guide, Monique was excellent. She was so knowledgeable about the culture and places we saw, and she really helped make the trip so enjoyable. Kurt, our driver, was also great. We stayed in lovely hotels, and the itinerary was wonderful, enabling us to see and do so much. I have visited Switzerland many times, but this was my first time with a tour. I would definitely consider going on another tour with Gate 1.
Joyce Z. Glenshaw, PA
It was wonderful; loved the itinerary, the great hotels, the Rhine River cruise, staying 2 nights in almost every city, our guide and the excursions that we took. Plus we had a small group which made it even better. Loved Germany and Austria, and the free days where we could roam the cities and do some activities that we had planned. Another great job by Gate 1!
Karen R. Jacksonville, FL
The trip was great. Our tour manager was knowledgeable and enthusiastic. We have learned a lot about Switzerland. Swiss people were very polite and friendly. Some towns are amazingly beautiful. The food there was good. Shopping for chocolates and watches was excellent. We have enjoyed this trip very much.
Chi-Ming H. Barrington, RI
A great experience! Beautiful weather...beautiful blue-green lakes, green pastures dotted w/grazing cattle, goats & sheep...towering white-capped Alps...even the white puffy clouds added to the overall beauty of Switzerland! We loved the sounds of cattle bells, the beautiful music of the long horns, the church bells in all all the little villages & towns...but we did miss hearing the yodeling! Our tour guide...Remo...made it all happen...we loved his wit, his knowledge...first time for a guided tour in Europe, so first Gate 1 experience, and cannot imagine not having Remo for future trips! We hated to leave Switzerland & hated saying goodbye to Remo!
Susan T. Knoxville, TN
Our trip was fantastic. The guides were wonderful, the group leader was great and everything went very smoothly. We learned a tremendous about of information along with having a great time.
Elizabeth B. Kiawah Island, SC
Had a fantastic time.Noel took excellent care of us and his knowledge of German history prior to and after WW2 was amazing. I have been to Germany at least 10 times, hitting Munich each time, but never to Berlin. That was why I chose this trip. excellent choice.
Philip R. Santa Paula, CA
The trip was wonderful! Cheers to everyone at Gate One for a job well done!!! Our Guide, Noel Perceval and our Driver, Imre did a simply fabulous job!
Bryan M. Brentwood, TN
Just returned to Sydney. Everything went very well. Excellent trip. I believe I will be getting a letter from Gate 1 soon. At that time I will highlight the most impressive things about the trip - the crew. The guides, the food and the sights we saw.
Robert S. NSW, Australia
Our trip was great and especially our Tour Guide Panareo was amusing and very knowledgeable. We definitely will consider doing another trip through Gate 1.
Akhtar P. Tucson, AZ
We thoroughly enjoyed our trip through Switzerland. Otmar was an excellent guide, very organized with lots of valuable information about the country. Hotels were very nice. Pace of activities was good and Otmar had good suggestions for activities and restaurants during our free time. Otmar was very helpful in arranging transportation to the airport from Lugano to Milan. We continue to be impressed by Gate 1's itineraries and value. We look forward to our next Gate 1 trip in May.
Kathy R. Vernon Hills, IL
We couldn't be more pleased. The itinerary was great; the hotels were convenient and comfortable. And best of all, our tour guide, Neira, was professional, thorough, and knowledgeable. The BEST!!! Our bus driver Carbo was excellent too. This is our first Gate 1 trip. We will come back for more in the future.
Joseph H. Sherwood Frst, CA
We had a wonderful time. While we have toured with other companies, this was our first time with Gate 1 and we were very pleased. We had an excellent tour guide, Remo Beretta, and we enjoyed the accommodations and the food, and it was a very good trip. Even the weather cooperated. So, thanks to you, and Gate 1.
Rene S. Warminster, PA
The trip was absolutely wonderful! Our first one with Gate 1 - first time ever to Europe, in fact - and could not have been better! Everything from transfers to our tour manager Julian and bus driver Willie to the towns and sights we visited to the hotels we stayed at were all first rate!! No complaints at all. My dad came from Germany, along with his family, as a teen so I have heard about Germany and wanted to go my entire life. This has been the trip of a lifetime for me!!! Still thinking back and remembering all we did! There will definitely be more trips with Gate 1 in our future and I have been telling friends, neighbors, and patients how happy we are and what a great trip it was. Gate 1 truly exceeded our expectations and gave us a wonderful time!
Nannette R. Indianapolis, IN
It was wonderful. More than we expected. Jillian was an excellent leader/organizer who got us prepared for every stop and included many extras. We came home with many good memories. He even had the bus sing Happy Birthday and sign a card for me on my 75th birthday. Great 13 days.
Norma L. Mooreland, IN
The trip was wonderful. would like to thank you all for meticulous planning. Ottoman, our guide, was excellent.
Jaswant G. Carmel, IN
