My trip was AMAZING!! I enjoyed the gorgeous landscape, the grand history, how resilient Croatia has been. I was blown away in Dubrovnik, with its amazing old city .. The Pula Arena was impressive ... When I thought there would be nothing more to amaze me, then I would be newly amazed. The architecture, the beauty of it and the limestone streets ... We had a hotel that faced the most amazing lake. The walk around the lake, I felt so extremely blessed to be able to absorb and see all this greatness .. I could write for days about this trip. My bus driver Dalibor, a Croatian native was amazing. My tour director Kristian, I can not begin to express how amazing he was, always watching out for us without being intrusive. His great sense of humor made the hours in the bus short. The way he explained the history and facts were capturing. This was my second trip on Gate 1 and I am looking forward for more. Gate 1 has the best local guides, for each city you visit. Thank you for this incredible experience.

The trip was outstanding. The quality of accommodations, the attention to the little details, the scope and variety of experiences, the easy access to so many sights and our outstanding guide, all together, made this vacation exceed expectations at a great value. We are already looking forward to our next Gate 1 Travel vacation.

We were on the Karizma last week cruising Croatia, and all was great. The ship was great, the staff was exceptional (especially the serving staff, cooks & household staffs). The scenery was beautiful and the choices of stops along the way were outstanding & the fellow passengers (from across the world) were great fun to be with. We have been on 3 or 4 Gate 1 trips in the past and all have been wonderful & well beyond our expectations. Keep up the good work.

This trip was fabulous. Croatia and Slovena are beautiful and relaxing places. This was a small group of 20 people who were very friendly...Gate 1 allows for just enough free time and unlike other tour companies we did not spend a majority of the vacation on the bus getting from one place to the next. 2+ nights in some places added to the feeling of seeing a place. Hotels were all really close to center of things. Our hotel in Venice was literally a 3 minute walk to St. Mark’s Square. Our tour guide was funny, friendly and had a wealth of knowledge about all the places we went to. Local guides added variety to the tours. Even our bus driver engaged with us in a funny and friendly way. Great trip!

We had a great time. Our first experience with you guys. Timing and sights visited were good. Accomodations were far better than expected considering the cost of the trip. Special mention our host Gabriella and driver Dragan were exceptional. Gabriella would have to be the best guide we have come across ever - and we are experienced travellers. One point I would like to make is we as Australians really appreciated that Gate 1 acknowledged that we are not comfortable with tipping and that this component was included in the cost - keep this going.

It was just great. Our guide, Nickolina, was exceptional. The countryside and towns were very picturesque, clean, and safe. It was a very informative, enjoyable, and interesting trip.

We loved every minute of this trip. Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia are unbelievably beautiful and our Tour Guide, Elvis, was outstanding. We gained insights on Yugoslavia's complicated history, met many interesting people, could not believe the scenery and were very grateful for the extra dinner Gate 1 provided (with musicians!), as some in our tour were delayed by weather, and the tickets for Dubrovnik's famous walls. It was fascinating to meet so many people who had taken multiple numbers of Gate 1 trips. One couple was up to 12! And while you have no control over this, our weather was exceptional for the entire tour.

Our trip was perfect! Beautiful countries, great itinerary, great hotels, lovely meals and an awesome tour manager, Tina, and an excellent driver, Mario, made our trip a truly memorable one. Tina's care and regard for each and every traveler, her sense of humor, her management skills were such that everyone on the trip felt respected and cared for.

Very good trip. More variety than we could have expected. Croatia and Slovenia are great destinations ... Christian was the most knowledgeable guide we have ever experienced. He was entertaining and funny, with a wide knowledge of history, -not just his part of the world, but also the US and beyond. Maybe the best guided trip ever.

We had a fabulous trip! Croatia and Slovenia are so beautiful and we enjoyed learning about each place that we visited. We also found the food and drink prices very economical. We had the best tour guide, Gabrijela Golub. She was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, punctual, considerate and caring.We can’t say enough good things about her! We would love to visit these 2 countries again some day and would definitely travel with Gate 1 again!

Our trip throughout Croatia and Slovenia was excellent, and even better than I had anticipated . Our tour guide, Jelena, was fantastic! She was dynamic, organized, patient and thorough. Gate 1 is truly a first class operation. The hotels were excellent with good service. The motorcoach was comfortable. Our luggage was handled with proficiency. We enjoyed the extra dinners that Gate 1 provided also. We’re looking forward to traveling with Gate 1 in the future.

The trip surpassed my expectations. The whole experience was wonderful. Our guide was superb, Marina gave delightful insights each day . The hotels were top notch. I would recommend this trip to anyone and I have already.

It was terrific! Our tour coordinator Sandy, who traveled with us from Venice to Venice, was outstanding. She was organized, communicated very clearly, obviously experienced and able to anticipate potential challenges and problems before they occurred. We learned about the history of and current situation of Croatia and Slovenia, and enjoyed the beauty of both countries. It was a trip well worth taking!

It was the most amazing trip. It was much more beautiful and enjoyable than I ever imagined. Our guide Zoran was the greatest!!!! He was very knowledgeable, smart, personable and hard working. He's probably the bust guide I've ever had on a trip. Our bus driver Zdravko was also amazing. Even though he didn't speak English, he was so very nice. I always felt safe with his driving, and the way he could maneuver the bus was incredible! We definitely got our moneys worth and more. Thank you to Gate 1 for a very memorable vacation.

Our trip was fabulous. Marina Benkovic is an extraordinary tour guide; she is so personable and knowledgeable. We had the most fun with her and she is an asset to Gate 1. I would pick another trip just knowing she’d be my guide! The travel arrangements were perfect. There wasn’t too much bus time yet we were able to see a variety of the country. Who else can say they visited 4 countries in 9 days and not feel like you’re on a bus the whole time?! Our hotels were lovely. The tour guides in each destination were knowledgeable and friendly. The locals were wonderful, friendly, and most welcoming to foreigners. I will definitely recommend Gate 1 to anyone wishing to do a tour. Tour groups aren’t for everyone, and I admit I was a little skeptical (as I usually travel independently) but I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

The trip was fantastic! Marina the tour guide was outstanding, members of the tour group were friendly and great to be with and the tour along the Dalmatian coast was picture perfect. Even the weather cooperated! I have been on a number of Gate1 tours and this was one of the best!

I have been on many Gate 1 trips and this was the most amazing and wonderful experience I can describe. Tour supervisor Kristijan was superb. Kind, very knowledgeable and a great asset to the Gate 1 program. "True story." Professional, and with great breadth of experience, his historical and cultural knowledge added greatly. I cannot say enough about the Croatia and Slovenia experience. The day programs added immensely and driver Stepjan wielded the bus expertly through poor driving conditions. I can only look forward to another Gate 1 trip and shall cherish the memories of Croatia and Slovenia for years to come.

I enjoyed my trip to Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Montenegro, Slovania very much. . The tour leader, Gabrijella and the driver Neno are an excellent pair. Gabby as we called her is very knowledgeable in the history of Croatia, Bosnia and Slovania. She is very helpful and kind and very patient. Our group loved her and Neno very much.

Our trip to Croatia, Slovenia and Montenegro was amazing, great, terrific etc.! We had the best tour guide, Darko, but it seems we always have "the best tour guide"! We have decided Gate 1 only hires the best! There were 6 of us ladies traveling together and we all had the best time! Bus was clean and nice, the driver (Robert) was excellent, the local guides were very engaging and informative. Everywhere we went it seemed Gate 1 travelers were treated like First Class Tourists! Oh, the hotels were so very nice and the one in Bled gave us all lake view rooms! WOW! I am impressed with every trip with how well things are organized, everything goes like clock-work. Gate 1 knows how to entertain, transport, accommodate, educate and show off every country. We love Gate 1 and already have another trip planned!

The trip was wonderful! We had an absolutely amazing vacation... special thanks to our exceptional tour manager, Blaz, and driver Stepian who made the trip ever so much more excellent. Blaz was so organized, and fun, knowledgeable, took great care of us making sure we had an amazing trip. He fostered camaraderie among our 41 'random' travelers to make the trip ever so much more wonderful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 11-day adventure through Croatia, Slovenia, and Montenegro. The countryside was terrific, an ambitious itinerary that worked because Blaz kept us on schedule, knew how to run a tour better than any tour guide we've ever had. We were also very lucky with the weather and had perfect days. Please extend our thanks to Blaz again. Also Stepian was a superb driver.. the team worked perfectly. We look forward to future Gate1 travels and hope all your tour guides provide the same level of service as they did.

We enjoyed the trip to Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, and Slovenia. The scenery was beautiful, the towns were very interesting, the tour was well organized, and the group of people on the tour got along very well. The tour guide, Maja, did an excellent job. All in all, we greatly enjoyed the trip.

The trip was great - beautiful scenery, nice bus ride with good driver, nice hotels; most of all, the Tour Manager - Tina has done a fantastic job. She tended every little details and coordination, connected with tour members very well, provided very thorough information of each tour spot and history of the countries visited, her American English is very good, easy to understand, she also has a good sense of humor, she managed the tour smoothly and joyful, extra credit to her. We have reserved 5 more tours with Gate 1 Travel after this trip, hope all will be as joyful as this one.

It was a great trip. We really enjoyed it in spite of the heat in Croatia. It was very well organized and still provided plenty of time for free time. Truly enjoyed Plitvice Lakes and Lake Bled.

We enjoyed every aspect of our Gate 1 journey. The Aloha Princess experience was awesome. Accommodations, food, itinerary and crew were beyond our expectations. And after the cruise, the itinerary which continued on to Opatija and Venice could not have been better. The hotels, transportation and itinerary were managed seamlessly. We enjoyed learning about the local cities and attractions with local tour guides who were extremely knowledgeable. The tours were conducted at a good pace. Most of our enjoyable experience however, was due to our wonderful tour director, Bruna Justinac. Bruna was the epitome of an excellent organizer and group leader. She was very well prepared, professional and exceedingly helpful. Being a native Croat, Bruna was forthright in sharing her experiences with her country's culture and history. She was generous with her time and went out of her way to satisfy the needs of all travelers in our group. This is my first time booking a trip with Gate 1 but I've been on many group tours with other companies. I've always had an enjoyable experience, but this tour in particular was hands down the very best. Much of that excellent experience was due to Bruna's commitment to ensuring that every group member had a fabulous time. If all Gate1 tours are as wonderful as this one was, I will not hesitate to book again and recommend the company to my family and friends. Kudos to an excellent itinerary, excellent accommodations and EXCELLENT tour guide!

The Kompass Cruise was fantastic. The Cruise Manager, Jelena was a cultural GEM. The staff were great and the captain was excellent. The food was top notch and delicious, four courses every meal. The cabins were small, but there was plenty of room. I would highly recommend this trip.

The trip was phenomenal. Vlaho was a fantastic tour manager who was knowledgeable about the areas but also a lot of fun. I think the trip went off without a hitch and we were so pleased with the accommodations, the bus and bus driver and the schedule while we were there. Our trip was absolutely wonderful. I can honestly say that it has been the best group tour experience I've had so far. The main reason why our trip was so excellent is because of our tour manager Peter. Peter is everything we could have asked for in a tour guide and more; he is knowledgeable, organized, caring, thoughtful, personable, entertaining, and engaging. He was able to thoroughly and thoughtfully answer every question that members of the tour group had asked about tough and sensitive subjects regarding the countries of the former Yugoslavia. His knowledge base really impressed me as it encompassed everything from U.S. and world history, politics, culture, geography, geology, and linguistics. He was also very engaging as he related stories from the past to entertain us. He also made sure the group was well cared for. Additionally, he went above and beyond to make sure our dietary wishers (my wife and I follow a vegan diet), were met. I simply cannot praise Peter enough. The travel itinerary was also wonderful. I really enjoyed each of the places that we visited. The history, architecture, and culture of each city and destination was so interesting to me. The hotels that we had stayed in were very nice and exceed my expectations.The tour bus was also very comfortable. This was our first Gate 1 tour and it definitely will not be our last.

FANTASTIC!!!!!! Loved every minute. Must sing the praises of Sandy (Croatia & Slovenia) who is the most efficient tour guide we have ever met; Gioia (Venice), who was a fantastic bundle of energy and knowledge; and Milos the bus driver, who had the patience of a saint. Trip was full and very well planned. A fantastic value for the money. Although there were two buses and 80 people it was so well coordinated that the groups managed to stay out of each others way. We have over 1000 pictures to go through and even more happy memories. This trip is a GEM. We have been on many many tours and this one ranks among the best of them.

This was one of the most surprisingly wonderful trips we have been on with Gate 1. The hotels were divine and the locations perfect. We had the most outstanding view from our room in Bled. The guides were top notch, knowledgeable, good natured and unflustered by unforeseen events. We have been raving about this trip through Facebook.
