My trip was WONDERFUL! The beauty of the Adriatic, the Julian Alps, Montenegro, and all of the fun excursions were a true delight. Our travel manager, Blaz, was phenomenal...so knowledgeable, kind, efficient, and patient. Our driver, Thomaslav, was also excellent and very safe. We enjoyed the tour of the Krka Water Park along the way to Zagreb ... The guide in Split was very special in his knowledge of Diocletian's Palace...so interesting and had our full attention ... I was especially thrilled that we could take the boat ride over to the cathedral on the island in Lake Bled, and that the boats were right below our hotel. The lake was perfectly calm and the temperature was very good. We were blessed with especially lovely temperatures during this trip ... Watching the artisan print on the Gutenberg printing press was a delight at Bled Castle, and the beautiful views .... I will definitely recommend this lovely Adriatic trip to friends.

It was sensational!! The scenery was spectacular and the tour leader and individual tour guides were amazing. Their knowledge, expertise and sense of humor was exceptional. In particular I would like to acknowledge our tour leader Elvis and coach driver Robert. These two gentlemen were a credit to Gate 1 Travel. Elvis’ knowledge was outstanding and nothing asked of him was too much trouble. Robert’s expert driving on some very difficult roads was amazing. I felt very safe at all times. Thanks to them I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. They were very professional but at the same time made you feel part of a family. My heartfelt thanks to them both. To Gate 1 Travel itself, the professionalism in the way everything was organized was faultless. I knew we had a transfer from the hotel to the ferry terminal but was surprised to find an assistant waiting for us at the terminal to escort us directly to Qatar’s departure check-in counter. Absolutely brilliant, especially as we were the last two in the group to depart for home (Perth WA). Thank you once again to everyone involved in making this trip a truly wonderful and memorable holiday.

Our trip was absolutely amazing; it exceeded our expectations in every way. It was a beautiful trip with many beautiful countries to visit and a fantastic group to travel with. I would certainly recommend this trip anyone; so much history and beauty. Our tour guide Bine was tremendous. He was a wealth of knowledge; very knowledgeable of the history in all the areas that we traveled. He was very safety and customer service oriented and punctual in all our activities. Bine was a very interesting guide with a tremendous sense of humor and he spoke very good English. He made everyone feel very comfortable and the entire group was compatible. Great trip; can't wait for the next one with Gate 1!

My trip was AMAZING!! I enjoyed the gorgeous landscape, the grand history, how resilient Croatia has been. I was blown away in Dubrovnik, with its amazing old city .. The Pula Arena was impressive ... When I thought there would be nothing more to amaze me, then I would be newly amazed. The architecture, the beauty of it and the limestone streets ... We had a hotel that faced the most amazing lake. The walk around the lake, I felt so extremely blessed to be able to absorb and see all this greatness .. I could write for days about this trip. My bus driver Dalibor, a Croatian native was amazing. My tour director Kristian, I can not begin to express how amazing he was, always watching out for us without being intrusive. His great sense of humor made the hours in the bus short. The way he explained the history and facts were capturing. This was my second trip on Gate 1 and I am looking forward for more. Gate 1 has the best local guides, for each city you visit. Thank you for this incredible experience.

We had a great time. Our first experience with you guys. Timing and sights visited were good. Accomodations were far better than expected considering the cost of the trip. Special mention our host Gabriella and driver Dragan were exceptional. Gabriella would have to be the best guide we have come across ever - and we are experienced travellers. One point I would like to make is we as Australians really appreciated that Gate 1 acknowledged that we are not comfortable with tipping and that this component was included in the cost - keep this going.

We loved every minute of this trip. Croatia, Montenegro and Slovenia are unbelievably beautiful and our Tour Guide, Elvis, was outstanding. We gained insights on Yugoslavia's complicated history, met many interesting people, could not believe the scenery and were very grateful for the extra dinner Gate 1 provided (with musicians!), as some in our tour were delayed by weather, and the tickets for Dubrovnik's famous walls. It was fascinating to meet so many people who had taken multiple numbers of Gate 1 trips. One couple was up to 12! And while you have no control over this, our weather was exceptional for the entire tour.

Once again we are 100% satisfied with your services. Croatia and Slovenia are both breathtaking offering the best of the Croatian Riviera and the Julian Alps. Our guide Elvis was awesome. It was the most amazing trip. It was much more beautiful and enjoyable than I ever imagined. Our guide Zoran was the greatest!!!! He was very knowledgeable, smart, personable and hard working. He's probably the bust guide I've ever had on a trip. Our bus driver Zdravko was also amazing. Even though he didn't speak English, he was so very nice. Our trip was fabulous. Marina Benkovic is an extraordinary tour guide; she is so personable and knowledgeable. We had the most fun with her and she is an asset to Gate 1. I would pick another trip just knowing she’d be my guide! The travel arrangements were perfect. There wasn’t too much bus time yet we were able to see a variety of the country. Who else can say they visited 4 countries in 9 days and not feel like you’re on a bus the whole time?! Our hotels were lovely. The tour guides in each destination were knowledgeable and friendly. The locals were wonderful, friendly, and most welcoming to foreigners. I will definitely recommend Gate 1 to anyone wishing to do a tour. Tour groups aren’t for everyone, and I admit I was a little skeptical (as I usually travel independently) but I thoroughly enjoyed my trip.

I have been on many Gate 1 trips and this was the most amazing and wonderful experience I can describe. Tour supervisor Kristijan was superb. Kind, very knowledgeable and a great asset to the Gate 1 program. "True story." Professional, and with great breadth of experience, his historical and cultural knowledge added greatly. I cannot say enough about the Croatia and Slovenia experience. The day programs added immensely and driver Stepjan wielded the bus expertly through poor driving conditions. I can only look forward to another Gate 1 trip and shall cherish the memories of Croatia and Slovenia for years to come.

Good trip! Well organized by Gate1. Everything went as planned. We were met by your representatives promptly at every location. Our tour director, Jon, was always helpful whenever we had a problem, he provided excellent background information for every location we visited, and he was always a pleasure to deal with. The local guides were well informed and they did a good job as well. We were also pleasantly surprised by the quality of hotels chosen by Gate 1. Our trip was AMAZING. It was our first time using Gate 1 Travel and all we can say is that we were IMPRESSED by the service we received. My husband actually prefers a "do-it-yourself" approach when it comes to travelling but he told me during and after our trip that if the service we will be getting is going to be the same, then he doesn't mind booking "organized" tours with Gate 1 Travel again.

Our trip went well from the start, from our airport transfer to Opatija, and to the everyday itinerary which took us to a lot of beautiful places. Our guide Kristijan is the best. He is so approachable, funny and friendly. He made the long bus rides more "bearable" with his stories and jokes. Our driver is Vlado, who is also friendly in his quiet way. Both of them made our trip more enjoyable.

Here are some of our observations/ comments from the tour:

1.       All the Gate 1 representatives/ partners we had contact with were professional and respectful.

2.       We liked the itinerary. It was enriching historically and culturally. We saw a lot but not to the point of overwhelming us.

3.       The hotels we stayed at were generally good but some supposed 5 star hotels are dated; like you will notice that the furniture and the upholstery were old.  Most hotels were centrally located which was a plus especially when we have free time to walk around.

4.       We liked it that we were given free time to do some stuff on our own and not "pushed" to see a particular store or establishment.

5.       We liked the "surprise" dinner sprang up on us on our way to Split. The restaurant is called "Epitium" and the food is so good it became a "standard" in all our other dinners. The group had a great time "bonding".

6.       We liked the Pula and Montenegro excursions.  The dinner at the medieval village in Bled though, we could have forgone. The wine and bread when we were in the cellar was good but the fish served is just okay. Maybe for winter time, Gate 1 can have an alternative activity/ excursion as it was already dark when we were in the medieval village and there's really nothing much to see. It seemed we just had dinner.

7.     We appreciated Kristijan meeting us on our departure time ensuring that our luggages were on the transfer bus, our breakfast boxes are ready and introducing us to the driver of the bus. Considering it was 3:00 am, I'll say he is one accommodating trooper (first group left at 1:00 am).

We would like to say kudos to the Gate 1 partner in Croatia (I believe it's Kompas), our guide Kristijan and our driver Vlado for making our trip memorable.

A special "thank you" to you too Kimber, for answering my/our questions from the moment we booked until the "end" with our last minute questions/requests. You've made our "first" impression with Gate 1 Travel a positive experience. We will definitely use Gate 1 Travel again for our future "adventures".

We absolutely loved our cruise along the Dalmatian Coast on MV Vita with Gate 1 Travel.

It exceeded all our expectations, I know we were very spoilt having only 14 passengers booked on the boat and with a wonderful crew of 7 enthusiastic and very welcoming people, we were very well looked after. The passengers were all fantastic people and it was like being away with a group of friends. Our group was extremely happy and satisfied with our Croatia/Slovenia experience. Our tour guide, Elvis, was most knowledgeable in history, patient, courteous, and friendly. We consider him as a most exemplary tour guide. The hotels we stayed were all excellent, breakfast was overflowing with food!

Our bus was always clean, almost brand new. Our driver was very cautious and safe. There were some long stretches of driving from point to point. But we were always rewarded with places of interest and historic value at the end of the long day. I look forward to another trip with Gate 1, and will certainly recommend Gate 1 to family and friends. Thank you for a most memorable and enjoyable tour!

Everything went great. Very good hotels and tour directors. Weather was perfect, and warm.

Opatija was beautiful and the Adriatic was as clear as the Caribbean and I cannot believe they can grow oranges and lemons that far north. The old town of Dubrovnik was very interesting and the tour guide's suggested restaurant was truly marvelous. Bled was picture perfect and Venice was wonderful even though we had been there before, however we had not been to the Murano section via an extremely fast water taxi.

The week we added on in Italy was marvelous as well. Loved Rimini, right on the Adriatic and the hotel staff was great. Saw some great mosaics in Ravenna. Then we went to Vicenza which was great old city and made side trips to Verona and Padua.

It was wonderful! I had no knowledge or experience about Croatia/Slovenia and Montenegro, so this was an incredible chance to learn! Peter was an extraordinary guide and kept us well organized and on schedule. He gave us insights that we never would have gotten on our own.

As usual, Gate 1 was the best way to see this part of the world for a much better price than we could have achieved on our own, with personal attention and delightful companionship of the others in the group. In Venice, Joia arranged for us to have our gondola ride a day earlier because of the weather. All in all, it was a fabulous experience. Thanks for helping us arrange it so well.

Our trip was fantastic. The two tour coordinators (Blase and Martin) were terrific, giving us just enough information at each site and also leaving us a good amount of free time to discover on our own. The Princess Aloha was a beautiful boat and the crew was fantastic, as well as, fun to be with. We loved how amazingly organized everything was over the course of 13 days. On the boat cruise, we met some many people with varying backgrounds and from many different parts of the world....a tremendous group of people. We have traveled to many places in our fortunate lives, but this trip may have topped them all. Thank you, Gate 1, for thinking of everything and making this a memory we will forever share.

Dare I say this turned out to be our best tour yet?  We loved every moment of it. We had no problem with a large group, especially as our tour guide, Anton, kept us moving. Taking a tour has its pluses and minuses, inasmuch as we may have personally wanted to spend more time at some places and avoid others, but when you factor in the amount of lost time we would have had should we have gone on our own (even with a GPS), we saw and did far more than we could have done on our own.

And we were very impressed with all of the sites. Zagreb was a wonderful surprise, Dubrovnik was as interesting as it seemed to be from all of the Rick Steves and other travel shows we had seen, the day in Montenegro was long and tiring, but we saw the country so we can check it off our bucket list, Diocletian's palace was very interesting, the Plitvice Lakes were perfect, as was Lake Bled and the Slovenian countryside, and Opitija was a delightful lunch stop. Venice is always beautiful, although very expensive.

This was our second Gate 1 trip and we look forward to traveling with you again in the future.

We had a great cruise in Croatia. The Princess Aloha was terrific, as was the food because it was the best we've ever had on a cruise. The best part was the tour manager, Martin. He's a real asset for your company. He made sure that everyone had their needs attended to, with the best possible service. With his unique style, he turned a bunch of strangers into an extended family who got along better than my actual family, but that's another story! It was the most amazing trip, we wouldn't change a thing. The itinerary allowed us to see a variety of places with ease as opposed to a do-it-yourself trip and each location was a lot of fun. Everyone employed by the Princess Aloha were extremely hardworking, warm and friendly folks. We enjoyed getting to know them, especially Helen and Ivan. The ship itself was very classy and the perfect size for our needs. Our tour guide, Martin, was fantastic. He was very knowledgeable, friendly and an important key to our good time.

We had a wonderful time! The hotels were great. We fell in love with the Istrian Peninsula. How wonderful! We had been to Split before, but this time we got a much better understanding of Diocletian's Palace. Dubrovnik, what a wonder! We took the cable car up to the top of the mountain, walked the wall, visited the shops and places to eat, and got to know some locals. Montenegro was beautiful and the road to Cetinje was a bit heart-stopping. I would not have wanted to miss that.

Zagreb was a neat place to explore and would have been nice to have more time there, but we got to see the main sights. Slovenia was an Alpine wonder. We loved it and also could have stayed longer. Lake Bled was so peaceful and pretty. We walked around the lake and also took a boat to the church, on the island. I rang the bell, but the bell nearly took me off the floor!! It was a good trip, kept us moving, but was a very worthwhile trip at a very affordable price. Thanks again Gate 1!

The first and lasting thing that comes to mind when reminiscing about this tour is our tour guide, Kristijan. In an intelligent, competent and measured way he dove into the history of this beautiful land and its troubled people which required broad and in depth knowledge of 2000 years of events that have shaped their character and left evidence in countless and rare structures for all of us to see. With a unique sense of humor he made this fast-paced tour a true highlight which is the more remarkable that he himself had to experience the recent war years and its atrocities as a young man himself. His demeanor and conduct were impeccable and elegant. His English, pronunciation, knowledge of "Americanisms" and well trained speaker skills combined were inspiring and we submit likely even for the dullest tourist. He was visible at all times, the first to come, the last to go and we all felt safe and guarded.

As to the tour, we already said it was fast paced, its logistics well thought through and the choices of hotels quite satisfactory, the rooms comfortable and clean and foremost we could open windows or access balconies.
