Our latest adventure with Gate 1 to Northern Italy and the Lakes region to celebrate out 50th anniversary was all one could expect. As this was our fourteenth trip with Gate 1, we have come to expect nothing less than an excellently planned package and we were not disappointed! From the well appointed and conveniently located hotels, the many wonderful culinary experiences we enjoyed to the unique sights and vistas along the way, nothing was lacking. Our wonderful tour guide Sonia was extraordinary in her attentiveness and desire to accommodate, enlighten and educate all participants of our tour. Already looking forward to next fall’s adventure to attend the Passion play at Oberammergau with Gate 1!

This was yet another fun and exciting vacation from Gate 1 Travel in what were some of the most scenic, must-see destinations in Europe. I had an absolute blast walking the ancient walls of Dubrovnik, trekking the paths of Plitvice Lakes, and riding the electric train through the Postojna Caves. This tour was made even more special by our outstanding tour guide Tina, who had a wealth of knowledge about the region and kept us entertained with her singing, stories, and humor. She always had a warm, friendly smile despite having to deal with the often demanding personalities of 42 travelers. She gave each one of us individual attention and made us feel like family. It is always a privilege to travel with your fine Gate 1 organization and I look forward to my upcoming visits to Morocco and Costa Rica. I will enthusiastically recommend Gate 1 Travel to anyone who may ask.

OMG, our trip was amazing. The best trip I’ve ever been on. Every detail was perfect. Everything that Gate 1 promised was delivered beyond our expectations. AND, our tour guide Johnny was the best I’ve ever had. I can’t say enough about him. He provided us with so much relevant information every step of the way, and he was extremely likable and witty and loads of fun. He definitely went above and beyond what I would expect of a tour guide. In fact, I would purchase another trip based solely on the fact that he would be my tour guide. Our entire group loved him. He made our vacation perfect, and we also had an exceptionally nice group of people on our tour. Everyone was friendly and got along, and no one was ever late or difficult. As you probably know, in every group there is usually that one person who complains about everything, but, we did not have anyone that was negative in any way. I formed some friendships that I will continue to pursue. The only bad thing is that I will truly miss the wonderful people in our tour group (40 people), but most of all Johnny our tour guide. To sum it up, Gate 1 was like a well-oiled machine. Everything worked perfectly, and you get everything that is advertised. No surprises or hidden costs. You get a high quality tour for a reasonable price. I would recommend Gate 1 to everyone.

Wow! Truly one of the best vacations we have ever had. Dani (tour guide) was fantastic - took special care of my 6'7" husband with seating on the bus and even put together a large table for our family and two other families since our children became fast friends, the driver Luigi lulled everyone to sleep with his excellent driving, all the guides were knowledgeable and the Gate 1 employee that met us at the airport in Naples at 4:00 a.m. was a godsend. We got to know just about everyone (40) personally on the tour and made many new friends. Extremely pleased that there were young people on the trip - my daughter (18 years) really had a great time ... In fact, one of the girls she met is going to Boston University and will be living on the same street as my daughter who will be attending Berklee College of Music and they are just 15 minutes from one another. We are even talking to the other families about another trip to Egypt or Spain!! Yes, this was a great trip from Gate 1 Travel.

This Italy trip was AMAZING!!! A trip which I will cherish for my entire life. Not only did I make some new friends on the tour, but I also wanted to congratulate ViVi our guide tour for an exceptional job. We had a lot of surprises along the way, such as eating lunch at the Vatican city, tasting local espresso in Naples and all of the local recommendations which were made by her. As usual, we all wanted more time in certain areas but knew we were on a time schedule. Definitely will come back to Italy to explore!!! Our driver was exceptional and ensuring we had a good time on the bus during all of our local stops and long drive along the Amalfi Coast. I did a lot of shopping and was very pleasantly greeted by Marianna at the airport who ensured all of my pieces of luggage were taken care of safely and sound, until my arrival back home to the US!! She was amazing!!! I would take this trip a thousand times over, but with Vivi!!! What a phenomenal woman!!! Can not wait for my next trip next year celebrating my 60 bday!!! Thank you for having this trip and making sure you pick the best tour guides!!!

It was wonderful! Our tour guide, Francesco was very knowledgeable and took care of everything. We had a great group of fellow travelers and enjoyed sharing our experiences with them. We learned a lot about the history of each city as well as the beautiful scenery. The food was delicious and the accommodations were good. It was very hot most of the time which was very tiring but we were still able to enjoy everything. We would definitely travel with Gate 1 again and will tell all of our friends and relatives about our experience. We really have no negative comments about the trip. My trip was WONDERFUL! The beauty of the Adriatic, the Julian Alps, Montenegro, and all of the fun excursions were a true delight. Our travel manager, Blaz, was phenomenal...so knowledgeable, kind, efficient, and patient. Our driver, Thomaslav, was also excellent and very safe. We enjoyed the tour of the Krka Water Park along the way to Zagreb ... The guide in Split was very special in his knowledge of Diocletian's Palace...so interesting and had our full attention ... I was especially thrilled that we could take the boat ride over to the cathedral on the island in Lake Bled, and that the boats were right below our hotel. The lake was perfectly calm and the temperature was very good. We were blessed with especially lovely temperatures during this trip ... It was sensational!! The scenery was spectacular and the tour leader and individual tour guides were amazing. Their knowledge, expertise and sense of humor was exceptional. In particular I would like to acknowledge our tour leader Elvis and coach driver Robert. These two gentlemen were a credit to Gate 1 Travel. Elvis’ knowledge was outstanding and nothing asked of him was too much trouble. Robert’s expert driving on some very difficult roads was amazing. I felt very safe at all times. Thanks to them I thoroughly enjoyed my holiday. They were very professional but at the same time made you feel part of a family. My heartfelt thanks to them both. To Gate 1 Travel itself, the professionalism in the way everything was organized was faultless. I knew we had a transfer from the hotel to the ferry terminal but was surprised to find an assistant waiting for us at the terminal to escort us directly to Qatar’s departure check-in counter. Absolutely brilliant, especially as we were the last two in the group to depart for home (Perth WA). My trip was AMAZING!! I enjoyed the gorgeous landscape, the grand history, how resilient Croatia has been. I was blown away in Dubrovnik, with its amazing old city .. The Pula Arena was impressive ... When I thought there would be nothing more to amaze me, then I would be newly amazed. The architecture, the beauty of it and the limestone streets ... We had a hotel that faced the most amazing lake. The walk around the lake, I felt so extremely blessed to be able to absorb and see all this greatness .. I could write for days about this trip. My bus driver Dalibor, a Croatian native was amazing. My tour director Kristian, I can not begin to express how amazing he was, always watching out for us without being intrusive.
