Gondola Serenade 3:30 PM

One of the experiences of any Italian holiday is a Venetian gondola ride. For centuries, the traditional flat bottom boat has been a major means of transportation in Venice though its primary role today is to take tourists on rides. Gondoliers may seem like "rough-and-ready" characters, however they are actually highly skilled operators constantly working on the perfect balance of this watercraft. The profession, handed down from generation to generation, is regulated by a guild which issues a limited number of licenses to highly trained gondoliers to navigate the narrow spaces of the Venetian Canals. Explore part of the Grand Canal as well as some other hidden minor waterways. The gondola holds a maximum of six passengers. Please note that this is not a private gondola ride. Gondolas may depart in groups, with one singer offered per group.

Departs at 3:30 pm. Pick-up 15 minutes prior to departure time from Santa Maria del Giglio gondola pier. Drop-off at Santa Maria del Giglio gondola pier. Approximate tour duration is 30 minutes.

OMG!!!! Trip to Italy was so awesome words cannot describe. Gate 1 delivered everything you said you would. The emails contained all our information from departure to return. The hotels in Venice, Florence and Rome were outstanding. Now the tour guides... what can I say besides OUTSTANDING!!!! I wish i could have videoed each tour. The information they gave us, was beyond anything you can read in a book. Their home country touches, stories and memories made the whole tour even more special. Our group of nine family members were treated so great.! Our Mom who turned 80 in Dec. was treated as if she was their Mom!! Extra concern for her safety, to making her feel as special as she is, too finding elevators where they could!! Our family will use Gate1 again, hopefully soon!!!!

Accomodations in all three cities were very satisfactory. Moreover the tour guides were exceptional, particularly our local guide in Venice. We were happy with the logistics (transportation and proximity of the hotels to the rail stations). We will definitely use Gate 1 again.

Thank you so much for the wonderful trips. It was amazing, even though I bought the package where you do your own things. I ended up meeting many of the other travelers with Gate 1 and they all are very nice. The trip was the most amazing trip I've ever had. Everything is so organized. All the train and the hotels are so close to each other. So easy to get around the city. Hotel services all very nice too. Thank you, I would go through Gate 1 again in the future.

Overall, I want to compliment Gate 1 Travel on the 9 day Venice/Florence/Rome trip. All 3 cities were spectacular! The arrangements Gate 1 made for us with flights, trains, hotels, tours, guides, etc. were all top notch. Everything went off without a hitch and we were pleased every step of the way. You have 6 very happy tourists who would use Gate1 again and again. The affordability was outstanding! Thank you for setting up such a lovely trip for the 6 of us.

Our trip was great!  AlItalia was very good, despite all the negative reviews we were reading on airlineequality.com, although coach seats were uncomfortable for an 8-9 hour flight, mainly because the center armrests only raised halfway. I'm sure, being able to upgrade our seats would have given us that space and comfort. This is our only complaint. The flight staff were very courteous and considerate of our needs and very accommodating as well. The  connecting flight was on-time and comfortable, as were the rail connections and hotel rooms. Hotel staff were courteous and accommodating, also.

Italy speaks for itself. History, beauty, food, wine, people and atmosphere, not to mention the shopping-which was made less painful due to almost 1:1 euro:dollar exchange rate. My wife thanks you for that-well, actually, me too (I got the bill).

My wife set up individual tours in each city we visited and that was the way to go. The guides were phenomenal and gave us a deeper understanding of their city, its history and culture, not to mention the great restaurants and additional sites they recommended.

Given the value this travel package represented, setting up our dream trip was a no-brainer.  Without a doubt, we will be looking forward to setting up another trip in the near future.

One other thing, and this was due to the way the trip was scheduled, I did not experience any jet-lag at all, both when arriving in Italy and coming home. Just another detail that made this trip great.

The trip was spiritual and your people were incredible. Due to the price and the accommodations we are already watching your site for more great deals so we can go back. We took a walk through history and the tour guides were excellent and dedicated to dispelling myths about Italy. We've made lifestyle changes by eating and walking daily like Italians. We have continued learning the language by Using Rosetta Stone and weekend classes. Keep us in mind for Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Italy. We are already moving around our vacation schedule so we can go back during low season to avoid the crowds. The trip and all the excursions went awesome. We look forward to seeing the world with Gate 1.

OMG!!  I can't even begin to tell you how wonderful the trip was!  We LOVED Italy, every place we went was fantastic and beautiful.

Gate 1 is the BEST travel company I have EVER worked with! Starting with our first call and our first interaction with you on the phone, to the time we left Italy,  ALL of our arrangements were so perfect.

The hotels were wonderful and very well located for ease of access to the things we wanted to do and see. The train between cities was AMAZING.  At one point we were rolling along at 300kph....we even took pictures of that display.

The guides for all the tours we signed up for were so good, so pleasant and nice to work with.  My favorite was the orientation the first night in Venice, with Franchesca.  She set us up to whip off the next morning to Venice, but she also got us set to arrive in Florence and know how to get to the hotel, and how to arrive in Rome and how to get to the hotel.

We had nothing but pleasant, easy experiences.  Of course the down side was:  we had to come home!!!  I could easily have stayed another 6 months, and STILL been sad to come home!

One last story:  On the flight home, I got to chatting with the stewardesses on our Delta flight, and told them what a great trip we had and all the wonderful things we got to do.  When I told them the price, both of them wrote down the name of Gate 1.....because THEY are going to book through you!!

We are already looking at the emails you send getting ready to book our next trip!!  I want to go through the Panama Canal, and I just KNOW we will be doing Gate 1 trips at least twice a year for the next decade.

WHAT A TREAT!!!   I cannot tell you how glad I am that we found Gate 1 and what a REALLY wonderful job you do!!!

Your name came up several times over the course of probably the best family vacation I have ever experienced. Every hotel you placed us in was wonderful! Each was extremely nice as a standalone luxury hotel, particularly by European standards, but what really made them special was location. We walked everywhere easily from each. Rialto bridge, Duomo, Colosseum - you name it, it was minutes from our hotel.

Honestly, the most beneficial telephone conversation of 2014 for the family was the fifteen minutes with you when you encouraged the hotel upgrades and then selected these wonderful spots. And the flights both ways were outstanding too. I will continue to consult you for all future vacation plans.
