Is This Trip Right for You?

This moderately active, adventurous program is intended to offer an introduction to Iceland and give you the opportunity to search for and perhaps view the Northern Lights. Different from any other program, because of the extreme climate and unpredictable weather conditions, you should be prepared for itinerary and flight schedule changes. The included Northern Lights tours often extend late into the evening and exact schedules depend on local weather conditions. Sightings cannot be guaranteed. You can expect to walk over rough, uneven terrain in dark conditions, and therefore proper winter clothing and footwear as well as a flashlight are essential for your safety and comfort. Meals not included in your package may be expensive as most all of Iceland’s food is imported. For important information about your flights click Flights to Iceland. This is an Off Season program. 7 Day Reykjavik Special, November 2018
Dummy Image

Our trip was AMAZING! ... It would be the first trip that my sister and I have ever taken together and I felt, at the time, not knowing about the company- I would be taking a BIG RISK! However...what a pleasant surprise! Our ticket arrangements were accurate and without complications, the hotel accommodations at Hotel Klopp was perfect, location, staff, cleanliness and breakfast was all outstanding! The best part was that whenever I called, and I did so because I was nervous about the reservation being secure, someone personally responded to my call and answered my questions or needs with respect - taking time to ensure I understood the issue. There was never a long wait time, or numerous robot links to get a connection and I felt that the representative was not only patient but wasn't inconvenienced by the call. I now recommend Gate 1 Travel to everyone that asks about my trip to Iceland and I'm looking to book another trip soon! ... I can't imagine why I didn't travel this way earlier. Live and Learn!

The trip was fantastic. The guide and driver were excellent. We all enjoyed the hotel in terms of size, cleanliness, service, and overall look. Wish it was closer to city center. No complaints from our group

Our trip was excellent. This is my second trip with Gate 1 and I am very happy with it. Our hotel was in the Ideal location. We were right in the center of town and could walk everywhere. It was very clean and the breakfast and service was excellent. Our tour guide Guccu was also great. She was very nice, helpful, and very knowledgeable. Overall it was fantastic and I always rave about Gate 1 to everyone I talk to. I have another trip planned with Gate 1 in April and I’m very much looking forward to it.

The trip was excellent, I had limited concern as Iceland says they are a bit behind the curve in that the volume of tourists is increasing and their hotels etc are just now catching up , but I saw no lack of facilities. The hotel was good, the restaurants were great, the citizens of Iceland are very welcoming...Nothing could be improved upon , considering the geographies of the country, the trip, for me, was perfect. My tour director , Goodney and the driver, Augusto added very much to the enjoyment of this most pleasurable travel experience.

Our Iceland trip was everything we have come to expect from Gate 1. A fun, organized, informative adventure. No other travel company provides a better value with such a high level of service. Our tour guide in Iceland, Hanna, was amazing. She gave us a better understanding of what it is like to be Icelandic with the perfect blend of history, culture, and personal stories. She made her country come alive for us. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone considering travel to Iceland!

She is very professional, knowledgeable, and entertaining. We would like to go back to Iceland and would definitely consider booking with Gate 1 again for future trips.

Our trip was fantastic. It was the perfect introduction to Iceland, and we're already planning our next trip back. Our tour manager and driver were both great, and really made our trip fun and worry-free. We wish we could have spent more time there, but we have pictures and memories that will last forever.

This was our 3rd Gate 1 trip to Iceland and we had a great time. Our guide, Kristin, provided a lot of new and interesting information and was very helpful with planning our independent activities. Iceland has such unusual and beautiful scenery that looks so different in different light and weather. Each visit is unique. Thanks for another fun trip and we are already booked with Gate 1 to tour the Yucatan later this year.

Our trip was wonderful! We saw the Northern Lights on two of our four nights there -once while out on the hunt with our group and once while walking in town on our own. We thoroughly enjoyed all of the day trips and are very glad that we added the extra day to tour the Southern Shores. Our guide was excellent. We were surprised by the very high cost of food but we did find the food to be very good. Thank you for your help in setting up this trip for us.

We had a wonderful time - the guide (Ronnie) and driver (Auto) were excellent, hotels clean and comfortable, food was much better than expected even the hotel buffets were great. The Icelandic people were very nice. To top it off, our hunt for the northern lights was a success and Martha (guide) and bus driver (retired fireman) went above and beyond to find them - they were just as excited to see them as we were ! The most successful Gate 1 trip, all around, that we have been on! Will be calling with questions about Australia & New Zealand trip for 2018.

The trip to Iceland was so enlightening. Our guide was fun and so proud of the eco-friendliness of her country. She was always there for anyone with a question or in need of help. The star of the trip, however, is the country itself. Iceland can be barren and similar to a moonscape, yet nurturing and warm as her people and the Blue Lagoon. The geological formations are spectacular. All in all the trip should be on every ones' bucket list. Gate 1 is a great host for this country.
