As a first time Gate 1 traveler I am extremely satisfied with the entire trip. There were 49 wonderful people in our group. I was the only solo traveler but had no trouble fitting in immediately. Our guide, Daniel, was simply the best guide ever! He called us Family and treated us as such. The local tour guides were terrific. Truthfully, I’ve never had a better art museum tour than the one at the Prada. I can’t remember his name but he was so passionate about explaining the art work. He did the same at the castle. Our group was exceptionally cooperative and considerate of each other - never a late person! We set up an e mail list that I volunteered to type up and we’ve already shared pic. I’ve already recommended Gate 1 to my friends.

The trip was great! I've done several Gate 1 escorted tours, and loved (almost) every Tour Manager, but Lisa was stellar! She really went above and beyond her duties. Every evening that we arrived at a new town, she was eager to take the group on a walking orientation tour that wasn't on our itinerary but was greatly appreciated. She is a jewel. We had a wonderful tour and definitely will be returning to Gate 1 in the future. Luis was an excellent tour leader--very organized, personable and a delight to be around. The guides at each site were also very good. Especially Jose??? who took us through the Prado museum in Madrid; his passion for the art was effusive. Our driver Juan was very good, always had the bus under control and was very skilled at negotiating narrow ramps and streets. The hotel selections were also very good, putting us near the most active city areas for good walking access. The provided meals were excellent. The itinerary was a bit rushed at times but I think that it had to be to cover seven cities in nine days on the ground.

Both my sister Jane & I liked our trip to Spain very much. The service was good & the tour members were always on time. Our tour escort was 100%+ in giving us the care & attention all thru. We would certainly take another Gate 1 tour again.

The trip was amazing value. Truly, we can't figure out the math to understand how you can offer such a trip for that cost. The hotel was very nice, in an excellent location and we all had a wonderful time. We will be on Gate 1 again in May and have converted our friends as well.

ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS.!!! Have already recommended Gate 1 to several friends. Our tour manager, Lisa was extremely gracious . Every tour guide we encountered was knowledgeable & enthusiastic. In fact my husbands' eyes rolled in the back of his head when he heard we were going to the PRADO. But Jose dissected the paintings to the point that my husband came out of there with an enlightenment about art.

Out trip was wonderful. We saw and experienced so much thanks to our Gate 1 tour guide Caesar. Everyday was planned so that we wouldn't miss a thing worth seeing in Spain and Portugal. The only thing we had to worry about each day was getting to the bus on time and being ready to go. Gate 1's tours allow you to feel safe yet adventurous. We really appreciated the knowledge and experience of the local tour guides. We can't say enough about Caesar. He's was so nice, knowledgeable and worked so hard each day to make our trip the best.
