Additional Information:
Drivers must be at least 21 years old to rent a vehicle. Additionally, drivers must be 25 years old in order to rent a Full Size vehicle (FDAR and FVMR). A valid drivers license issued a minimum of 12 months prior to rental along with an international driving permit is required for all renters. There is a maximum age of 80 years old for all car types.


Entry Requirements:
Passengers traveling abroad require a passport valid for six months beyond their travel dates. All travelers are responsible to check if a visa is required for all countries on their itinerary. For visa information, check our Visas page.

DAY 2, Friday - Arrive in Lisbon, Drive to the Hotel
Arrive in Lisbon, capital of Portugal. Pick-up your reserved vehicle at the airport's car rental facility and drive to your hotel. After check-in, spend time at leisure

DAY 3, Saturday - Explore Lisbon
This morning, drive to Lisbon, one of the oldest cities in Europe, over 2,000 years old, and capital of Portugal since 1147. View the treasured 16th century Belem Tower, a monument to Portugal’s Age of Discovery. Continue to visit the Jeronimos Monastery, an impressive symbol of the country’s power and wealth and resting place of explorer Vasco de Gama. Afterward, take a walk along the winding cobblestone streets to Alfama, the old Fisherman’s Quarter, nestled between the Grand Castle and the River Tagus. Tour the imposing St. George's Castle, perched on a hilltop overlooking the historic centre of Lisbon. Perhaps, ride the Santa Justa elevator and ascend to the Bairro Alto district from where you can enjoy panoramic views of the city and the river. Tonight, experience the soulful music of Fado - a genre born in Lisbon, in one of the many fado houses

DAY 4, Sunday - Drive to Medieval Évora
Drive to Évora, one of Portugal’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Discover the town's 14th century massive walls and Roman Temple, early Gothic Cathedral, and Sao Francisco Church that is famous for its Chapel of Bones, whose walls are decorated with thousands of human bones and skulls. Head on to see Évora’s main square, the Praça do Giraldo, lined with exquisite examples of 16th century Gothic architecture. Stroll along the winding cobbled lanes and view traditionally painted houses. On your drive back, stop at one of the many world-class wineries that make the Alentejo region a wine-lover's paradise

DAY 5, Monday - Discover Obidos, Alcobaça and Nazaré
Start your day with a northbound drive to medieval Obidos, with its historic center, a labyrinth of cobblestone streets, whitewashed houses, and beautiful vistas. Visit Óbidos Castle, perched at the highest point of the town, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Make sure to taste Ginja de Óbidos, a traditional sour cherry liquor before continuing to Alcobaça. Here, visit the Church of Santa Maria Monastery, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that was founded in the 12th century by the first Portuguese King, Alfonso I. It was the first building in Portugal to adopt the Gothic style and is the largest church in the country. See the decorated tombs of King Pedro I and his lover Inês de Castro. Before heading back, stop at the charming fishing town of Nazaré, that retains the colorful fishing traditions. Here, it’s not uncommon to encounter fishmongers who still wear the traditional seven skirts

DAY 6, Tuesday - Sintra, Cabo da Roca
Today, head to quaint Sintra, the “Glorious Eden” of Lord Byron, and ancient summer retreat of the royal court, highlighted by lavish romantic castles and stunning monuments. Visit the Sintra Royal Palace, a 15th-century royal residence, containing magnificent azulejos - ceramic tiles, including some authentic Mudéjar Azulejos with Moorish geometric motifs. Continue with another former royal residence, the Pena Palace, built in the 19th century by King Ferdinand II. The castle is Inspired by German Romantic architecture with a blend of Moorish and Manueline styles. Its dramatic interiors are designed to reflect influences from the Middle East and European Baroque. Drive to Cabo da Roca, a rugged headland that marks the westernmost point of mainland Europe. Don't forget to obtain the document from the tourism office certifying your visit. Proceed to the lighthouse and walk along the cliffs offering stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean
