8 Day Classic National Parks, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone & Grand Teton , June 2017

The trip was great and our guide, Kelly, was exceptional. I was very impressed with his wealth of knowledge as well as his efforts to accommodate and please everyone no matter what the situation. We couldn't have been more satisfied with the trip and our guide. Plus the weather was perfect and the animals throughout Yellowstone were extremely cooperative by appearing frequently. Will definitely travel with Gate 1 in the future.

My travel partner and I had a great trip. This was our fourth with Gate 1 and was again a fantastic and enjoyable trip with our great views of Yellowstone, Old Faithful, and an abundance of wild animals. The tour guide was well informed and had good control of a large group of diverse people. I'm sure we will take another journey with Gate 1.

The trip was great. I really appreciated our tour manager Timothy. He went over and above to make our trip the best. His personality is perfect for a tour manager. Chris our driver was good also. Always there with a bottle of water. This was our fifth Gate 1 trip and we will be using you guys again. The dinners that were either included or booked as an extra were also great. Good job Gate 1.

Trip was fantastic, made so by our tour director, Kerry. He was very organized, enthusiastic, knowledgeable and always went above and beyond to show us everything he thought we might be interested in, and made everything we did fun. He is passionate about the outdoors and the parks and that made the trip. In our opinion we could not have had a better leader. He organized speakers that were extremely interesting, especially Peter the Navajo Code Talker, as well as a dutch oven lunch and picnic lunches so we could spent more time seeing everything. Our bus driver was amazing as well. She handled that bus with amazing expertise, and was always happy.

Trip was great and we had a fantastic time. From the red rocks of Sedona to Old Faithful and Mt. Rushmore, to the bison and bears we saw, we were constantly in awe of things we had previously only seen in pictures. We even got to watch the Mormon Tabernacle Choir practice for their broadcast. Our guide, Leslie, was terrific, so personable, organized and informative on the areas we visited. Would definitely recommend this trip to anyone considering seeing the national parks. So many natural wonders out there!

Our, guide, Kris, was knowledgeable, caring, and had a sense of humor. Our local guide, in the French Quarter, Karen, was fabulous. We learned so much of the history of Louisiana. Hotels were fine. The meals on Gate 1 were excellent, and gave us a good taste of Cajun cooking. The farewell dinner, at The Creole School of Cooking, was good, and the Chef was not only a good chef, but a really good entertainer. Enjoyed the other local guides also.

Our trip was just wonderful!! Probably one of the best we have been on including Gate 1. The hotels were just great & your Tour Manager Kris Kimball & bus driver "T" could not have been better. Took care of everything from start to finish. She was so helpful & the Gate 1 Team had really done their homework of all the Great & Unusual places we visited & ate our meals. New Orleans was great-only place we would have added was visit to WWII museum, Baton Rouge was marvelous but our favorite was Thurs. March 23-Cajun Country-places we visited like McGee's Landing, Vermilionville, Martin's Accordion Center, and dinner at Randol's ALL VERY UNUSUAL & A REAL TREAT, Of course the Tabasco factory a must (main reason we went, just sorry they were not bottling on our day & wish we could have had a guided tour); New Orleans Cooking School & Farewell dinner with Kevin Bolton a real treat!!! he was marvelous & the food just great!!! All in all beyond our expectations!!! Again Kris was GREAT & "T" marvelous...Optional tours were just grand!! Laura Plantation & Nottoway Plantation well worth the cost!!!

It was AWESOME! The Hotel Provincial was spectacular - and we really enjoyed the NCL cruise (we have cruised many times, but this was the first time on NCL). Everything that Gate 1 arranged, including the transport to the ship and the walking tour of New Orleans French Quarter, worked out perfectly... Thanks again. You guys have done right by us four times now... and we're planning another big vacation through you/Discovery Tours!

It was another incredible trip arranged by Gate 1 Travel; and felt we got two vacations for the price of one - 3 nights in New Orleans and 7-day cruise to the Western Caribbean. It was such a great contrast to combine both. The Astor Crowne Plaza in New Orleans was perfect - close walking distance to French Quarter, restaurants and sights. Thank you!

It was absolutely wonderful. The scenery was stunning. The hotels were great. The best part of the whole trip was the tour manager, Bacho. He handle everything that was thrown at him in a very professional manner and is very knowledgeable and proud of his country and it showed. This makes me want to go on another Gate 1 tour. Please send him a job well done from me.

The trip to Copper Canyon exceeded our expectations. At the top of the list of excellence was the Tour Manager, Bacho, who handled all details of the trip from start to finish with efficiency and attention to detail. The hotel rooms were above expectation; the meals were delicious; the itinerary was spectacular, the motorcoach was comfortable, and the interaction with other travelers was delightful. (The weather was a bit colder than expected … but that was the only downside to the trip.) We’ve done a lot of traveling around the United States and the World … and this trip was one of the best. The scenery was breathtaking as we rode the train through this section of Mexico and it was fascinating to interact with the native Tarahumara people in the Canyon region. All other activities on the tour were meaningful and worthwhile. What a marvelous way to celebrate our 48th Wedding Anniversary. Thanks to Gate 1 for their coordination of the trip and thanks to Bacho for his knowledge, his enthusiasm, and his personality.

I had a great time. Everything went smoothly starting with the arrival at the airport in New Orleans and the prepaid transportation to the hotel through the cruise on the Norwegian Dawn. Great weather; great food; cruise guests that were out to have fun and meet new people. The Astor Crowne Plaza is a great location from which to explore New Orleans and the personnel on the Norwegian Dawn wanted to make sure every guests was accommodated and enjoying themselves. Loved the ports, particularly the new private island at Harvest Caye.

This is a very late response to your recent enquiry. I only just returned this week from the Copper Canyon Trip. I decided to spend some time on my own, cruising the California coast. I'm happy to tell you I have no complaints with this Mexican adventure. The trip was well organized, hotels throughout our journey were excellent and we had the good fortune to have a guide and driver who did an exceptional job keeping us entertained, informed and moving flawlessly. I want to thank them, they are responsible for making so much of this trip a memorable adventure. Equally so, I should mention that the "Home Team" performed admirably. All of my questions and reservation were answered and processed efficiently. Thanks to all concerned. This was not my first trip with Gate 1, not my last. So please be ready to handle my next request as well as the last one.

I thought the trip was excellent! This was my first time using Gate 1 and I was very pleased with the experience from start to finish. The initial reservation process was easy. Good information was provided in advance. The trip itself was so well organized and packed in a lot over the eight days. We had an excellent tour guide (Muriel) and coach driver (Jerry). They were really the face of your company on this trip, and you should be very proud of their services. Also, the accommodations were so comfortable, specially Majestic View Lodge at Zion which was stunning! And the baggage delivery to and from our rooms, throughout the trip, was a nice touch! Overall, I feel I definitely got good value for the money spent. So I am already planning to use Gate 1 again, and have recommended it to family and friends who inquired about this trip.

The trip was fantastic, as were our guide, Liz, and bus driver, Jimmy. The trip was very well planned and executed. I learned so much. Liz treated us with lots of info and candy, and her delicious sense of humor. Jimmy is a superior driver, as is his sense of humor. I feel so fortunate.

We had a great time and the fall colors were vibrant and plentiful. Our guide Steve and our driver Joann took very good care of us. We felt safe and informed. Our hotels were very nice for the most part. We had plenty of lobster and butter sauce and clam chowder. We had a very good group of fellow travelers. We use Gate 1 to take us to places that we have never been and don't feel confident enough to go on our own. We made memories to last a lifetime. We are looking forward to our next trip with Gate 1.

It was excellent! My husband and I enjoyed the different scheduled stops we made and the optional tours. Each hotel and resort was wonderful in its own way! Our tour guide Carolyn was friendly and organized and the bus driver Paul did a great job driving on all the winding roads as well as interstates. It was our first experience on an escorted tour and we were very pleased with Gate 1.

The trip was wonderful. Everything was beautifully and smoothly planned. Our guide, Monica, was excellent, the highest rating!! Gate 1 gets highest marks. In addition, the weather was gorgeous, the route and the sights were over the top, the driver was outstanding. We were thrilled. Many thanks to you and your staff.

Our trip was spectacular!! We had the best tour coordinator, Denise Healey, and the best bus driver, Russ Brown. Our group all got along really well and we saw so many beautiful scenes. Lots of bison, deer. We also saw elk and some baby bears. In Yellowstone, we spotted a wolf, which our guide says is a rare sighting. Denise made it so fun with music that fit the mood or landscape, DVD video on some of the history of places and people of the areas we visited. Weather was close to perfect too!

This was one of the BEST trips we have ever been on. Bill (tour guide) was professional, funny, personable and delightful to be with. We would love to be on another tour with Bill as our guide. Vic was excellent as our coach driver. His experience as a driver was second to none. We felt safe and secure with Vic driving. The tour was so beautiful with all the wonderful stops we made...we had no idea that there was so much to see and do in the area travelled. It has left us with the desire to return again and see more of what our country has to offer. We have been raving about this trip to our family and friends. The accommodations were great....even though the stay inside Yellowstone Park was a bit more "rustic" then what we were used to. It added to the ambiance. Our group was wonderful...we truly became "family" as our tour progressed. There were lots of laughs and camaraderie with our traveling companions. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. Gate 1 did a fantastic job all around. Thanks for a memorable trip. We look forward to many more happy travels....

Yes, we had a great trip. Our 3rd one with Gate 1 and the best one yet. We had great weather, which always makes a difference, but we also had great Gate 1 service from the time that we arrived at the airport until we departed. The guide, Keri and the driver, Matt were both very familiar with Alaska as Keri was born and raised in Fairbanks and they had both hiked and explored in many of the areas that we visited. It was quite a surprise to all of us on the tour when they told us on the last day that they had never worked together before, because they made an excellent team. Both of them were always looking for ways to go above and beyond what was necessary to be sure that everyone had a great experience. They both deserve recognition for a job well done.

We had a great trip! Our guide, Leah, was wonderful - she was organized, respectful to her Gate 1 guests and able to "roll with the punches" no matter what happened. The hotels were nice, especially the final hotel (Little America in Salt Lake City). The meals furnished by Gate1 were all excellent! Little America Hotel in Salt Lake City did an awesome job with the Farewell Dinner we were served there. We enjoyed all the sights and National Parks we toured. This tour covered a lot of distance on the bus, but the sights we saw made it worth traveling that far! I highly recommend it to anyone who has never seen Crazy Horse, Mt Rushmore, Yellowstone, Grand Teton, and Jackson, WY!

Our trip was fantastic! The scenery was gorgeous, a fulfillment of my dream to see some of the West and Rocky Mountain National Parks. The accommodations and food were good. Our tour guide, Timothy, and bus driver, Bob were the best. Timothy was very knowledgeable about the parks, shared the information in an interesting way..even with music and videos and treated us to a few goodies. He was always cordial and friendly to all and smoothed over any ruffles with humor. He was a wonderful tour guide...keep him. I would go on another trip with him. The trip was well run and efficient but allowed the group members some individual time.

Fantastic. We lucked out with weather, but as I told Jay, our tour guide, we have a habit of bringing good weather to tours. This was true of our May Scotland-Ireland Gate 1 tour and also Alaska, China and Australia-New Zealand trips with other companies. Speaking of the tour guide, he was terrific - so knowledgeable, so willing to respond to your every concern, and so entertaining. This was our first guided American tour as we normally plan and execute these ourselves, as opposed to foreign sojourns. In this case, we were very happy that we paid for the guided tour as it eliminated all the planning and uncertainty of a self-guided tour and was a good value to boot. I honestly don't think I could have done this on my own cheaper at the same quality level. The hotels in Rapid City and Salt Lake City were outstanding, especially the Salt Lake City. We are so happy with our decision to extend our journey by one day at either end of the guided tour.

The trip was wonderful and we enjoyed ourselves very much. The sights and history of the old West were well worth seeing along with the Crazy Horse monument, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone Park and the Grand Tetons. Our tour guide Rick and bus driver Ken were very good and treated us well. We thought the trip was well organized and run by your company. We will definitely keep Gate 1 in our future planning for additional trips.

My trip was outstanding. I loved all the locations we visited. I left Yellowstone with the feeling that I saw everything in Yellowstone that was important for me to see. Our tour guide was wonderful, our bus drivers were great, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Our trip was amazing. We had a fantastic tour guide - Marianne who was a wealth of information and a ton of fun. Our bus driver, Thomas, was great too and always made us feel 100% safe. All of our hotel accommodations were wonderful - clean, great locations, spacious, good breakfasts. As for Gate 1 - it was our first experience with them, as well as first time doing a tour style vacation, and it totally surpassed our expectations. We will most definitely travel with Gate 1 again and most definitely share our experience and recommend Gate 1 to our friends and family.

We had a wonderful time and enjoyed seeing this part of the US for the first time. Dave, our tour guide, was very informative and has a great sense of humor that only adds to our enjoyment. The bus driver, Ken, did a wonderful job getting us up and over the many mountains and was very knowledgeable about the sites we visited. Thank you guys for making our trip a new adventure for Barb and I.

This was my first Gate 1 Tour and it was Fabulous. Leah is an excellent tour guide and Carlie an excellent driver. I hope to book another Gate 1 tour next year. It was one of our BEST trips ever and we have been traveling all over the world for about 30 years. I (Pam) am already retired and I'm pretty much the one who plans everything. My husband Terry is still working so I work around his self-employed schedule to try to find great travel experiences for us. We have never done a "Bus trip"before and I wanted to try it to see if it's something we might like in our retired years. My husband loves to drive when we go on vacation....and I don't. As we age it's a bit scary to be driving, especially in Europe. Well the great news is that my husband absolutely LOVED this trip and of course I did too. But I didn't expect him to have so many positive things about a road trip where he wasn't in control. The itinerary was what sold us on signing up. We had been to the Grand Canyon about 25 years ago but just drove around and stopped a few times. And we hadn't been to the other stops. Well every single stop was wonderful. And Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon were our favorites. But what made the trip the BEST was our tour guide Kelly Thomas and the bus driver Bob. In all our years of travel Kelly was one of the BEST. We have had some very good excursions while on cruises and some good guides but Kelly far exceeded all of them. He is so prepared and well-versed on the tour stops and information about the different areas. I learned so much and actually enjoyed the "learning". As a teacher I tried to get my students to ENJOY learning and Kelly exemplified the true teacher spirit. He loves his job!! He enjoys speaking about all his knowledge....and he speaks in such a way that makes it fun. He gives information ahead of time and he uses handouts to highlight the days & times & stops. And he is very punctual which we loved. Time management is so important and he is right on top of it. Kudos to Kelly!! And we would like to know which tours he leads so we can take another one where he is the guide! Our motels were unbelievable--we did not expect them to be really nice! And the food was good too! The trout dinner at Zion Park was very good. And the box lunch we received at Bryce Canyon was always very good. The options for breakfast times varied nicely so we could go early or a bit later. And having our luggage out an hr earlier than the bus departure time was fine. I was pleased to be able to schedule our airfare times online which worked out great because we wanted to stay a few extra days on Vegas and that enabled us to do so. The optional tour options were good and reasonable $$ and we especially liked the Monument Tour!

Our trip was very good, without any problems and very interesting. I think we were very lucky to have Madonna as our tour director and Marilyn as our bus driver. It was fun to spend our 9 days with such professional, knowledgeable and responsible beautiful ladies. They had made our trip to Alaska as the most memorable and wonderful tour.

It was probably one of the best trips we've taken. Our first time seeing Yellowstone and Mount Rushmore. I think the word awesome is used too often but it was so appropriate on this trip. The hotels were great the food was fine. But the stars were our guide and bus driver, Timothy and Ken. I would recommend this trip to anyone. My husband gave me this as a 70th birthday present.
