Our trip was magnifico. Travel Manager, Ivan, was hard working, passionate about his country and a delightful person. I would rate him a 10 plus. All aspects of the trip - hotels, meals, sights, weather, free time, safety and transportation services either met or exceeded are expectations.

We had a wonderful trip to Mexico. We have taken about 10 Gate 1 tours and liked them all. Our tour manager, Douglas, made this trip special. He is knowledgeable and careful with details to make sure that all of us were pleased. He has a great personality and went out of his way to get to know all of us on the tour, providing us with little extras to make us feel welcome and valued. I can't say enough to praise Douglas. He is a real asset to Gate 1, which he praises regularly, telling us about his training and how Gate 1 goes to great lengths to make sure the meals and accommodations are the best possible. I want to mention Panchito, our bus driver, also. He is a cheerful person and a highly skilled bus driver. We were all impressed by how he was able to maneuver the bus in tight quarters and keep us all safe.

The trip was great. Very impressive of the boat ride at Marina San Carlos, and the train ride from El Fuerte to Posada Barrancas and the two day visit at the Copper Canyon. I learned a lot of Tarahumaras people and their community. The Mexican food was very tasty. It was a very good trip arrangement. Thanks again to Gate 1 for providing high quality, and affordable trips. I really enjoyed it.

The trip was wonderful. We were so fortunate to have Raul, the perfect guide! He obviously was so pleased to know we were enjoying ourselves, and we could totally depend on him to look after us. Very sincere, so knowledgeable. I’ve been to Mexico many times, but this was the first time I experienced the range of socioeconomic citizens and learned so much about the history of the country.

The trip to Mexico was amazing. As were the warm and welcoming people of Mexico. Each & every city we visited offed something unique & delightful. And the Gate 1 hotels, once again, were outstanding. And...once again our tour bus driver was THE BEST - I always felt safe! ...

9 Day Colonial Mexico, December 2018

Colonial Mexico was my 31st trip with Gate 1 and I always love it when a trip exceeds expectations in every way, as this one did! I knew little about Mexico outside of a visit to Cancun and Mexico City, and this exploration of its Colonial Cities was marvelous. Everything started with having a superb tour manager, Bacho, who was personable, extremely kind, knowledgeable, funny and so organized. He was always there for us, whether it be having Pesos for bathroom stops or treating us to candy or prizes for quizzes, and even organizing a special double decker bus tour of Guadalajara, plus so much else - he is one of the very best! Our driver Aurelio was also skilled and safe and very pleasant. The itinerary was perfectly timed, with the right balance between time spent on walking tours of the cities and free time to explore. The hotels were all really lovely and well situated. The restaurants we went to for group meals were uniformly excellent. The dinner at the #1 restaurant in Morelia - San Miguelito was fantastic, as was the farewell dinner at El Sacromonte in Guadalajara. My personal favorite cities were the stops in Queretaro and Guanajuato and favorite city that we stayed in Morelia - I loved it so much that I am looking at spending a week at a language school there later this year! Can't say enough good things about this trip - safe, fun, interesting, cultural and very highly recommended. Thank you again!

The trip was very good and our guide, Mr. Douglas did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable, funny and provided all the important information on arrival. The trip to the Copper Canyon was wonderful. The trip by bus showed us an extensive area of Sonora and Chihuahua. The vast canyon was beautiful to see in the varying light from morning to evening. The train ride from El Fuerte to Posada Barrancas was spectacular with the mountains and changing vegetation as we climbed higher. Douglas was an excellent tour leader. On the long bus rides, he told us about the economies of the states, the history of the areas and the history of Mexico ..... He kept us informed about the daily schedules and helped to make sure that everyone was having a good time.

Our trip was wonderful! My wife and I enjoyed every aspect of our journey, from the excellent service provided by our guide Juan to the great food and spectacular sights we visited along the way. The trip was awesome. The tour director, Mr. Bacho Lopez, was well read, articulate, effective, and efficient. He had very detailed and elaborate answers on history, fauna, and flora of the region as well as the local culture and industry. It was obvious that he is proud of his country and heritage and was more than happy to share his wisdom and experience with the tourists. Because I traveled alone and was the youngest female tourist on the trip, he had fatherly consideration for me. He is a true gentleman. I consider taking other trips to Mexico with Gate 1 in the future if he is the tour guide.

We were fortunate to have Manuel as our tour guide and coordinator. His knowledge of history, anthropology, ornithology, botany and many, many other fields is truly amazing. It was our pleasure to be in the company of a true professional and gentleman. We particularly enjoyed his sharp wit and his caring and passionate love for his country and work. We were a large group with...yet Manual handled every situation with tact and diplomacy. We were also equally impressed with the skills of our driver, Javier. We felt completely safe in his capable hands. And last, but not least, our assistant tour manager, Douglas, another wonderful travel mate, gave a wonderful presentation on pearl farming. We would gladly take this tour again, if assured the company of these three gentlemen. They truly made the trip remarkable.

It was a great trip. The selection of stopping points, Hotels and pit stops, was very good if with great variety. The driver was excellent. He knew his route and handled the vehicle extremely well under all conditions. The guide Juan was exceptional. Although he was from Mexico his diction was flawless. Many times accents make comprehension difficult. This was NEVER an issue with Juan. He knew every location and could provide details of every area that we traveled through. He was able to present the itinerary in a clear concise and entertaining manor. We enjoyed the trip immensely and would recommend it.

9 Day Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon & Zion National Parks , September 2017

This was our first guided tour, and we were somewhat nervous, however it was a perfect vacation. Our guide David, affectingly became known as "Uncle Dave", was amazing and went over and beyond. He was extremely informative and was always available for any questions. Uncle Dave used his own personal time on our days and evenings of leisure to ensure that we had a great time. He took a group of 40 people that were strangers and of varied cultures and somehow made everyone feel that they were family and connected. Lee, the bus driver, was amazing. I am terrified of curvy mountain roads, however I felt safe with Lee. Lee was very friendly and polite, as well as informative. The hotels and meals were all very good for the price that was paid. My husband and I will be using Gate 1 again, and are recommending Gate 1 to all our friends. Every aspect of this vacation was wonderful, reservations are very easy to make, the trip itself was fantastic and the price was very reasonable. Thank you Gate 1 for providing such a great experience. Looking forward to our future adventures with Gate 1.

He passed out plenty of handouts and gave a lot of information of each site. It was very educational. He was very organized and kept the group together and on time. It was nice that we beat some of the crowds. John was also a great driver. Everyone felt safe with him driving. Very personable and friendly.

Our guide, Ashley was fantastic. She knew Alaska, she knew our route and she was able to prepare us and point out things of interest. She was very personable, looked after each of us, listened, answered all questions, never got flustered. She had a great sense of humor and told us some great personal stories. Seeing the top of Denali was very exciting and emotional and she understood that. You have a great tour guide in her.

From start to finish this was a wonderful and thoroughly enjoyable vacation. Our tour guide Danielle (Dani) was a delightful, super efficient, tour guide who always had a smile on her face, could fix any issues or problems quickly while making it all look effortless. She was extremely well versed on information on all aspects of the sights we were seeing or going to. We learned a lot of facts and history while journeying along from stop to stop. We had a fresh supply of cold water available each and every day, as well as snacks for longer times on the bus, before meal destinations were reached. She was a true gem. Our bus driver John, was a super bus driver, and drove the mountain roads with skill and care always with his passengers safety first and foremost. Our day in Yellowstone with our Park Ranger, Kimberly, was yet another information packed day. We never would have learned so much and seen so much without her. It was a great addition to our tour. This was our first “bus tour”, and would take another with Gate 1 again. The ease of entering and exiting all the parks and venues was again, one of the highlights. Parking, entrance fees, etc. was all handled as we watched single cars search for parking spots and wait in line to pay fees. All and all, it was truly one of our best vacations and we look forward to joining another Gate 1 tour in the future.

Leslie made this one of the most memorable trips that we have ever taken. She was absolutely fabulous and amazing! She was so full of information that we would have never known about our sights. All the hotels, meals, bus, bus driver, and sights were awesome!! NO COMPLAINTS ABOUT ANYTHING!! We are already thinking about another trip with Gate 1 for next year! I would not hesitate to recommend your company at all!! Thank you for a great trip!!

It was our first group trip and we really enjoyed it. Our tour director and driver (Liz and Jim) did a great job of looking after us and showing us the sights. We would definitely recommend the Gate 1 Alaska tour we did to anyone.

The trip was great and our guide, Kelly, was exceptional. I was very impressed with his wealth of knowledge as well as his efforts to accommodate and please everyone no matter what the situation. We couldn't have been more satisfied with the trip and our guide. Plus the weather was perfect and the animals throughout Yellowstone were extremely cooperative by appearing frequently. Will definitely travel with Gate 1 in the future.

My travel partner and I had a great trip. This was our fourth with Gate 1 and was again a fantastic and enjoyable trip with our great views of Yellowstone, Old Faithful, and an abundance of wild animals. The tour guide was well informed and had good control of a large group of diverse people. I'm sure we will take another journey with Gate 1.
