8 Day Classic National Parks, Mt. Rushmore, Yellowstone & Grand Teton, July 2019
Dummy Image

My trip to Mount Rushmore, Yellowstone National Park and Grand Tetons was great! Gigi, our tour manager was wonderful! She was very organized and made sure everything ran smoothly and on time. She provided excellent commentary and reference materials during the long bus rides. She cared about the comfort and well-being of the entire group. Being a former teacher, Gigi clearly states her expectations and does not sugar coat her words. She has a great sense of humor too! She played very appropriate music during our bus drives, which made the trips even more relaxing and enjoyable. Towards the end of the trip, on our way to Salt Lake City, she made a surprise stop for lunch at Bear Lake, Utah and recommended the Raspberry milkshake, which was absolutely awesome! I am looking forward to taking my younger daughter on this trip in the future and hope to have Gigi again as our tour manager! Thank you Gigi!! You’re awesome!!

12 Day Classic Alaska with 7 Day Cruise, July 2019
Dummy Image

Our trip was really great! The accommodations were lovely, and the train ride was a wonderful way to see Alaska. Our tour guide did a terrific job, and we really enjoyed ourselves! We took lots of photos, were well fed, and met lots of nice people. I think my husband’s favorite piece of the trip was that train ride to Denali!! The cruise was also a great way to travel. Our staterooms were very very nice, especially the balcony for viewing glaciers. All of our excursions were very well done, and each of the towns in Alaska had plenty to offer ... We feel we got great value for the money spent on all aspects of our trip. And Gate 1 really delivered on a most enjoyable adventure! Thank you for all your assistance to us. We look forward to our next trip with your help!

She had covered and explained in great details about points to see, joking at many occasions. Waterton, Banff and Jasper were all worth visiting. Wish had more time to see city of Calgary. Weather was generally cooperative except on two occasions it rained. Will recommend to anyone without hesitation.

GREAT, AWESOME and all the other wonderful descriptive words. The best tour guide ever, he was so very knowledgeable about the area. Never dreamed I was going to see what I got to see. The driver was also wonderful, he really could drive that route with ease, they need to be a permanent team. This trip was great, Gary was so great, humorous and knowledgeable. We didn’t know what to expect but we’re still in awe of the experience. From our arrival to departure not a flaw or problem. Schedule was great as well as pace. Lake Louise was beautiful as expected, but other lakes were another nice surprise. Gary took us to some nice side scenery. All travelers (23) was a good number and group.

It was pretty darn perfect. Great guide, bus driver and itinerary. We had a sunny day in Denali for viewing the mountain and wildlife. My third trip to Alaska...have visited friends in Juneau and Sitka...and I finally feel I have seen the real Alaska. Eagles, humpback and Orca whales, sea otters, puffins, caribou, mountain goats, sea lions, bears, Dall sheep and moose with beautiful mountains everywhere I looked. Couldn’t ask for anything more.

The trip was outstanding! The real unexpected gem was the Frogmore Plantation visit. A great combination of past and present cotton commerce, history of the south and slavery, and musical interpretation. We will be on another Gate 1 tour again, for sure!

The entire trip was wonderful. We have taken many group tours with several different tour companies. Our tour guide, Liliana, was by far the best of any. Her knowledge of the art, history, customs, traditions, etc. of Mexico is exceptional. In addition, she is a lovely, caring person. The trip itinerary, accommodations, etc. made this a truly memorable trip.

The trip was great and Dani as a guide was great also. Always wanted to start seeing more states plus other countries and after 5 trips we are going to stick with Gate 1 and book more trips soon. We learned a lot about New Mexico, Indian pueblos, nuclear creations and art. Great hotels always also.

In one word, I will say, “AWESOME “ Words cannot describe the places we’ve been to, e.g., Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon, Monument Valley, etc. Even a professional photographer can’t capture the beauty of the sites. You just have to enjoy them while you’re there. Camaraderie between the group was great— seemed like we’ve known each other for a while. Accommodations were very nice. Kudos for both Muriel (Tour Guide) and the driver — for a “Job Well Done.” Hope to have the same experience again, the next time around with Gate 1.

Our trip was magnifico. Travel Manager, Ivan, was hard working, passionate about his country and a delightful person. I would rate him a 10 plus. All aspects of the trip - hotels, meals, sights, weather, free time, safety and transportation services either met or exceeded are expectations.

We had a wonderful trip to Mexico. We have taken about 10 Gate 1 tours and liked them all. Our tour manager, Douglas, made this trip special. He is knowledgeable and careful with details to make sure that all of us were pleased. He has a great personality and went out of his way to get to know all of us on the tour, providing us with little extras to make us feel welcome and valued. I can't say enough to praise Douglas. He is a real asset to Gate 1, which he praises regularly, telling us about his training and how Gate 1 goes to great lengths to make sure the meals and accommodations are the best possible. I want to mention Panchito, our bus driver, also. He is a cheerful person and a highly skilled bus driver. We were all impressed by how he was able to maneuver the bus in tight quarters and keep us all safe.

The trip was great. Very impressive of the boat ride at Marina San Carlos, and the train ride from El Fuerte to Posada Barrancas and the two day visit at the Copper Canyon. I learned a lot of Tarahumaras people and their community. The Mexican food was very tasty. It was a very good trip arrangement. Thanks again to Gate 1 for providing high quality, and affordable trips. I really enjoyed it.

Our trip was wonderful and our tour guide, Ashley, was the absolute best!! We've been on many tours, not only with Gate 1, and Ashley was the best tour director we've ever encountered. Competent, personable, friendly, courteous, organized, helpful, and knowledgeable. She was always willing to go the extra mile for each of us. I will actually miss her very much!! She made each one of us feel extremely important. Thank you, Ashley, and thank you, Gate 1!! We'll be back! :)

The trip was wonderful. We were so fortunate to have Raul, the perfect guide! He obviously was so pleased to know we were enjoying ourselves, and we could totally depend on him to look after us. Very sincere, so knowledgeable. I’ve been to Mexico many times, but this was the first time I experienced the range of socioeconomic citizens and learned so much about the history of the country.

Colonial Mexico was my 31st trip with Gate 1 and I always love it when a trip exceeds expectations in every way, as this one did! I knew little about Mexico outside of a visit to Cancun and Mexico City, and this exploration of its Colonial Cities was marvelous. Everything started with having a superb tour manager, Bacho, who was personable, extremely kind, knowledgeable, funny and so organized. He was always there for us, whether it be having Pesos for bathroom stops or treating us to candy or prizes for quizzes, and even organizing a special double decker bus tour of Guadalajara, plus so much else - he is one of the very best! Our driver Aurelio was also skilled and safe and very pleasant. The itinerary was perfectly timed, with the right balance between time spent on walking tours of the cities and free time to explore. The hotels were all really lovely and well situated. The restaurants we went to for group meals were uniformly excellent. The dinner at the #1 restaurant in Morelia - San Miguelito was fantastic, as was the farewell dinner at El Sacromonte in Guadalajara. My personal favorite cities were the stops in Queretaro and Guanajuato and favorite city that we stayed in Morelia - I loved it so much that I am looking at spending a week at a language school there later this year! Can't say enough good things about this trip - safe, fun, interesting, cultural and very highly recommended. Thank you again!

The trip was very good and our guide, Mr. Douglas did an excellent job. He was very knowledgeable, funny and provided all the important information on arrival. His knowledge of the area was most helpful and we had a great time. I have already recommended this trip to few of my friends who did not make it this time.

The trip to the Copper Canyon was wonderful. The trip by bus showed us an extensive area of Sonora and Chihuahua. The vast canyon was beautiful to see in the varying light from morning to evening. The train ride from El Fuerte to Posada Barrancas was spectacular with the mountains and changing vegetation as we climbed higher. Douglas was an excellent tour leader. On the long bus rides, he told us about the economies of the states, the history of the areas and the history of Mexico ..... He kept us informed about the daily schedules and helped to make sure that everyone was having a good time.
