As with all of our past Gate 1 trips, the Galapagos trip was fantastic. Great weather, great sights, etc. On a scale of 1 to 10 this trip was a 15! The 7 days on the Santa Cruz II were wonderful....food, service, multiple daily excursions to 10 islands, deep water snorkeling, hiking, etc. The interaction with the wildlife - and the photo opportunities - on the uninhabited islands is beyond description.

We had a fabulous trip, Galapagos is a wonderful place to visit and The Finch Bay Hotel is such a charming place with wonderful food. Love the hotel and also the yacht we used on one of the excursions, such an experience to have chefs cooking our lunch on the yacht. The guides and tour managers along the trip are all very nice and everything was arranged perfectly. The only thing is since we weren’t told whether we will have the same driver the next day or not, it’s hard for us to tip them and I think couple times we miss the tipping opportunities. I am planning on taking another trip with my kids to see the other islands of Galapagos and I have told all my friends about our wonderful trip with Gate 1. We have had 5 trips with Gate1 and looking forward to go on more adventures with your company in the future.

We wish to commend Gate 1 Travel for providing a wonderful vacation. The itinerary, the bus, the accommodations and the price were clearly way above standard. But what turned out to top our list of acolytes was - Marco our travel guide! With him Gate 1 Travel hit on the rare combination of an individual with extensive local knowledge and the ability, through a deprecating sense of humor, to hold the attention of our 34 member group. Above that, he projected authority, no-one ever dared to be later for the bus. We are seasoned travelers around the world. This was our first experience with Gate 1. We plan future bookings through Gate 1. We feel we speak for our group as a whole, that Marco deserves an award or commendation for exceptional performance.

Our trip to Ecuador was nothing short of amazing! We had the very best guide. His name is Wilson and he made the trip so great! The itinerary was perfect and we thoroughly enjoyed how organized the trip was. The food was delicious and the activities were incredible. This is one of the best trips I have ever been on!

Our trip was great!! The group was diverse from many different, interesting backgrounds but everyone blended very well and all went smoothly. We covered an amazing amount of ground and saw and learned so much about Ecuador, its history, its culture and its people. We enjoyed the hotels and restaurants selected for this trip as well as the excursions...In closing, I want to shout a big hurrah to our fantastic guide Eduardo who managed everything beautifully and was a fount of knowledge at so many levels on so many topics. Our driver Roque was also amazing- always cheerful, helpful and friendly while mastering the challenges of mountain passes and everything else encountered on the roadways . All in all a fantastic introduction to this friendly country with its great diversity of people and landscapes. Definitely a trip worthy of high recommendation.

Our trip to Ecuador was fabulous. Our tour guide Wilson was extraordinarily great. He was knowledgeable, personable, and made every effort to ensure that everyone in the group had a great time. I am vegetarian and Wilson went out of his way to ensure that there was a veg meal prepared especially for me on a couple of occasions. The boat ride on the river in which we saw monkeys in the wild was spectacular. My husband and I were so pleased with Gate 1 Travel, and particularly with Wilson. We will definitely choose Gate 1 for another trip in the future.

Our trip was absolutely amazing. It was a dream vacation that we would love to repeat again and again. Every detail was handled for us. Our guide, Alfredo, was tremendous. He was enjoyable, extremely knowledgable, helpful, and accommodating. Our driver, Italo, was wonderful, and our native guide for the jungle and tribe, Holger, was so friendly and informative. We couldn’t be more pleased with our Gate 1 trip and look forward to our next Gate 1 trip (yet to be planned). Thank you!

This is our second trip with Gate 1 and we were not disappointed. Ecuador was a beautiful country that Gate 1 did a great job of showcasing. The driver, Walter, amazed us all with his driving skills. He was great to stop for the many photo opportunities. Antonio was good to provide information about the sights. He went out of his way to create a community environment while we were in the jungle, arranging a karaoke for all who were interested in attending (more than 1/2 the group took part). The chosen hotels offered a spectacular view of the surrounding areas and many opportunities unique to the region. The staff at the hotels were very helpful, especially in the jungle. Dario and Pablo were always there to assist and offer a helping hand accompanied by a welcoming smile. The food, although limited in choice(many meals were grilled chicken), was very good. This was a great adventure. We look forward to adventuring with your company again.

The trip was absolutely wonderful. Especially with grandkids ages 12 and 14. We were busy all the time and were proud of ourselves at age 72 that we could keep up with snorkeling, hiking, climbing in and out of boats, etc.. We were very impressed with the ship the Santa Cruz II in terms of facilities, the naturalists, and the organization. Gate 1 was perfect in terms of all the arrangements and transfers and guides. We are ready for another adventure like this.

The trip was a wonderful experience. Marco, our guide, was informative, professional, interesting, and spoke excellent English. We loved the hotels, food, and the places we saw. Ecuador is beautiful and our time with Gate 1 very rewarding. We hope to see more of the world for less on future Gate 1 tours. Thanks!

Wonderful...Beyond my expectations with the various hotels, Tour Guide Daniel, local guides, food, etc. I learned so much history about Ecuador from the Tour Guide from the politics, economy, people, food, etc. that I told everyone who has listened at home/work about Ecuador. Each hotel was so unique and charming. The people on our tour have become lifelong friends. This was my first Gate 1 tour and I will definitely be doing more.

The trip was great and even exceeded our expectations. The itinerary, lodging, and food were first class. Our guide, Alfredo, was amazing. His knowledge of the history, geography, culture, and people of Ecuador made it a valuable learning experience. Our driver, Javier, navigated the narrow roads with amazing skill. Finally the fellow travelers were a great mix of ages and backgrounds. We were all very compatible and shared many laughs. All in all, it was a whirlwind trip from beginning to end and a great experience. Thanks for a wonderful vacation.

The trip to Ecuador was fabulous. The accommodations far surpassed my expectations. The food was wonderful and so was the service. Our guide, Alfredo, was so knowledgeable about Ecuador...past and present. He went out of his way to meet our needs. I'm recommending Gate 1 to my friends and will travel with this company again.
