It was more wonderful than words can describe; food, sights, shows, hotels and guide were all fantastic. Ruben was especially knowledgeable, considerate and made all 28 of our group feel like family. The visit to the school, special markets, restaurants and other ways of giving and sharing were impressionable thanks to Ruben. My daughters and I wanted to stay longer but we are planning to go to Spain with Gate 1 next year.

I have to say that for such a brief excursion, the wonderful memories of Peru will stay with me for a lifetime. The guides were terrific guys, especially Alejandro, who guided us through Machu Picchu, as well as the Cusco city tour and the ancient ruins on the outskirts of Cusco. And Etson did a great job of introducing us to the Peru- vian family that hosted the optional dinner! Kudos too to the local bus drivers who got us to - and - from each destination safe and sound. In short, I fell in love with Peru!

Our trip was awesome!!!! Pável and Freddy our tour guides were incredible, they are the best. Pável explained to us everything, history, anecdotes and he share with us personal experiences. The best of the tour was the school experience. No words can describe how emotional we were. Machu Picchu is amazing!!! I had never seen anything so beautiful. Thank you Gate 1 and thank you Pável and Freddy for the best experience we have had.

It was a great trip. Lot of things to see and experience. Great arrangements, timely moving, good hotels to stay, meticulous. Great guides and drivers, Tour manager Mr. Odon was great. Look forward to more of Gate 1 Travel's tours in future. We did have a little elevation problem at height 12000ft, but nothing serious. Enjoyed the tour in general. Thank you so much.

The trip was amazing! I couldn't believe how the guides went out of their way to help us! Marcos was our main guide, fluent in English, Spanish and Qechuwa. He was extremely knowledgeable, professional, had a great sense of humor, and knew how to connect with his people. When we were in city areas where people in the community knew him personally or professionally, I could see he was greatly admired and respected. He went out of his way to help us sample food and drink, or get to know the inner culture and ways of life. I can't imagine doing this trip without him, and he earned a special place in my heart. Jhonn, who took us all around Cusco, was also fantastic -- I was impressed with his knowledge of art history, geology, cuisine, anthropology, and the behind the scenes information he provided us about the people and culture. Freddy, who helped in Cusco and Machu Picchu, made sure that everyone got up and down the mountain safely and kept us going. Big shout out to Freddy!! Our drivers, Miguel and Edwin, were enabled with super powers! Just when you thought the bus would never make it in some narrow street or with another bus passing you on a mountain road big enough for 2 small cars, they got us around without a problem. I felt very safe when they were driving. Marcos said, "the risk is you might want to stay". Now I know what he meant!! The hotels were top rate, the food was excellent, and the museum tour and dinner show were fantastic --- The show was as good as anything I have seen on Broadway! Now, I can't wait for my next tour!!

Our trip was wonderful. Henry and Felix did a great job. Our every need was attended to, providing a stress less vacation. Henry is amazing in his consideration and knowledge. The Cusco team is great. The trip was well planned and executed. Henry spent long days with us and then after he arranged our next day activities. Everything was taken care of, from tickets to sites, plane boarding passes and even paying for the bath rooms at Machu Picchu. All we had to do was enjoy. This was our first escorted tour with Gate 1 (we have done other Gate 1 independent tours) and we will be doing others.

The tour was perfect. We enjoyed all the places that we visited and we really enjoyed our guide and the local guides. We have taken several Gate 1 tours and Pavel was one of the best guides. He did a great job! We appreciate Pavel arranging a comfortable bus for the long drive to Puno. The larger bus was much more comfortable than the smaller buses. The people who were in the tour were a fun group and we thoroughly enjoyed the people and the tour. We look forward to future tours with Gate 1.

Our trip was wonderful in every way. We feel it was due to our Gate 1 tour guide in Peru, Carlos. He was great! He tried to meet the needs of all the tourists, while making it interesting and fun. One can tell he works very hard at the job and enjoys it. I went on all the optional tours and found them to be well planned and informative. We felt very comfortable and and relaxed while in a foreign country. We found the accommodations to meet our needs and the value good. Thank you so much for attending to all the details which made the trip easy for us. Wow what a beautiful place it was!

I was going to write you all. Your email prompted me to do so. Oh my gosh. Our trip was absolutely fabulous. Everything. And I mean it. Firstly, we travel a lot but had only done tour travel once before, many years ago. But your tour makes us want to do more tours. And with Gate 1. Carlos, our tour guide, was amazing. We felt well-cared for, well-informed, learned so much, enjoyed spontaneous experiences, saw incredible things, laughed, knew what to expect, and were instructed on how we could show our respect to Peru. We also had another guide, Mario, and he was equally wonderful. Marcos headed the other group and he was very cordial and nice with our group. His people spoke of loving to be in his group, as well. I suffer from motion sickness and was apprehensive about so many miles in a bus. Not so with Justino! NONE! I never felt any discomfort! And thru all those crazy roads! He shifted and took the curves like a pro. This was HUGE for me. Everyone on the bus talked about this. You don't want to lose these fantastic employees! The itinerary was great and packed with so much to see and with ample time to do things on our own. Machu Picchu was the highlight, of course, but we saw and did so many wonderful other things. Value is also important and this trip was a nice deal. And thank you for the discount for paying with a check. I'm going to check out more of your tours. And tell everyone I know about your great Machu Picchu express tour. Thank you so much for your work at Gate 1. I'm sure it's a lot of work and a lot occurs behind the scenes.

My trip was fantastic. This was largely in part to the terrific staff that helped me navigate Peru. My tour guide Ruben and assistant Jesus went above and beyond to make sure we were safe and informed throughout the entire trip. I was initially nervous about traveling to Peru, but my fears were quickly put at ease when I realized how well trained and knowledgeable Ruben and Jesus were. Since I have returned I have recommended both Gate 1 and this tour to family and friends. I can’t say enough good things about Ruben. He was always available, spoke clearly, and gave advice on the ins and outs of Cusco. Ruben is a huge asset to Gate 1!

It's never too late to once again congratulate Gate 1 for such an amazing service provided. It was my husband's birthday and our anniversary celebration (two in one) and we were pleased to enjoy every single moment of the experiences lived in Peru. Not only the beauty of the places visited; the hotels, the service, the food but the amazing tour guide we had with his assistants; they provided an amazing, high quality service. For the price we paid, I have to say that we came back home much more pleased than expected. Once again, Gate 1 Travel exceeded our expectations!

The trip was absolutely wonderful! All the beautiful places I got to visit not to mention the friendly people and all the tasty food! This was my first trip with Gate 1 Travel and I have to say how pleased I was that the trip was so well thought out and organized. Our tour guide, Edgar, was not only friendly but so well informed! We could not have asked for a better guide. When our group realized that Edgar was the guide in your promotional videos, we were ready to ask for an autograph! Nice to have a celebrity in our midst. The hotels were lovely and it was nice having an included breakfast every morning for the busy days ahead. The staff at the hotels were friendly and accommodating. I particularly enjoyed the hotel in Urubamba. The grounds were so inviting that a few people in our group sat around chatting in the evenings. I have been sharing with family and friends how wonderful this trip was and I have been encouraging anyone with a desire to travel to check out Gate 1 Travel. I am already thinking of my next trip!

From drivers to local guides and most especially to our tour manger we were treated like royalty and our every need was catered to. Washington made our trip. My Gate 1 trip exceeded all of my expectations for a meaningful, fascinating, and informative experience. Our guide, Odon, covered all the bases necessary for this excursion. He conveyed his knowledge of Peruvian culture, food, and history on every excursion without ever losing enthusiasm for his subjects or losing patience with us, despite the many, many questions we asked. Exceedingly polite and sensitive to individual and group dynamics, he kept us informed about daily events and communicated our travel goals clearly and effectively. He should be especially commended for reaching out to our two youngest travelers and making their journey as much fun as he could. (They were 10 and 12 years old). While managing details behind the scenes, he always had a smile or laugh when talking with us. His knowledge of Inca culture, in particular, taught me so much about this ancient civilization. Gate 1 provided a superb structure to this trip. Optional tours--my friend and I took all but one offering--added to the overall enjoyment. The group activities were well-thought out and gave people the option of free time for their own exploration. There was a good balance of free time/meals with planned activities. Odon always offered suggestions for local restaurants or places of interest. I also really liked the hotels in all locations. They were clean and very comfortable with excellent breakfast choices and lunch/dinner dining options. Transitions between sites were smooth and spoiled us by picking up luggage and delivering it right to our rooms. Our drivers were professional and knew how to maneuver some of those narrow hillside roads with aplomb! Bravo! I really liked visiting the school and seeing the Gate 1 playground. Knowing that some funds go to support community projects, especially education, made this journey even more worthwhile. What an amazing experience! Kudos Gate 1!

I am happy to have this opportunity to tell you that our trip to Peru, including Machu Picchu and the Amazon, was absolutely wonderful in every respect! Our guide in Peru was Julio. We have been on Gate 1 tours previously and we have had wonderful travel guides, but Julio was the VERY BEST! He was so congenial and well-informed. As he is a native of Cusco, we really felt that we learned a great deal about the history and culture of the area. Julio never missed a beat, even when logistics weren't perfect [through no fault of his own] or when the lights went out in the entire valley area and we still had a lovely [candlelit] dinner in a beautiful restaurant. He gave us so much of his own insight that we came to feel that we really were gaining an understanding of the places and people we encountered during this trip. Our Tour Leader during the Amazon portion of the trip was Cesar and he was also superior! He was so knowledgeable about the culture, history, and especially the plants and animals of the jungle; we all got an excellent education. He is also a very compassionate person and so willing to share his insights of the Amazon Basin area. Both Julio and Cesar are superior Tour Leaders and Gate 1 does travelers an exceptional service by providing Tour Leaders of this high caliber.

The fact is, it was about as good as it gets. All of the people representing Gate 1 from the locally hired luggage porters to the bus drivers, local guides and the tour manager, Pavel, were the most professional, caring and accommodating people you could hope for. Over and over, Pavel went out of his way to cater to all the tourists' wants and desires. Every day he worked to get us to the attractions well ahead of all the other tourists which enhanced our experience. The hotels were excellent. The busses were very good and the itinerary was designed to help us acclimate to the environment. I really don't know how it could have been better. My only suggestion would be change the name of the trip; "Affordable Peru" doesn't do it justice. My wife and I will definitely travel with Gate 1 again and , in fact, we started looking at their brochure today and are considering Morocco for our next adventure.

Our trip could not have been better. We were impressed with the professional staff and the attention to details. Washington did an exceptional job. He was so knowledgeable about everything we saw and had others, who were more informed about a specific area, relate what they knew to us. He kept us informed about what we were to do and see, which made us enjoy the trip and not have to worry about anything. His sense of humor was a plus, too. Our driver, Victor, did an excellent job and was congenial. Also, Washington's helper, Jean, was always there to lend a hand and was a lot of fun to be with. You could tell the staff had respect for each other in the way they related to each other which made the group one big family. As I said before, it could not have been a better trip.

FANTASTIC! It was the realization of a lifelong dream! I had seen a picture of Machu Picchu on the cover of National Geographic when I was in high school and decided that someday I would go there. That was 57 years ago! The trip was well organized, well run, and had extra features that made it another unforgettable trip for me. The focus of the trip, Machu Picchu, was hard with all of the steps but well worth it and not rushed yet it included options for the more energetic. The accommodations were first-rate. The tour guides were OUTSTANDING. Edson conducted a well-paced and very informative tour. Agusto was a great assistant and our bus driver was very, very good. You have a first-rate staff! They really made us appreciate the accomplishments of the Inka civilization and their way of life. As for the optional trips I am so glad I signed up for all of the bonus trips but it was unfortunate for those who didn't take advantage of the many wonderful opportunities, they were great! All of them were top-notch but I really appreciated the opportunity to have dinner with a family in their home. That was very special and I always take advantage of that opportunity on every trip. The people in my tour group were fantastic and it was great to get to know them. I liked that our tour guide, Edson, always referred to us a "explorers"..."My dear, dear, explorers." That sounds so much better than being a "tourist." I have been recommending Gate 1 to all of my friends even before I left because of the economical price but now that I have experienced this great tour I am really a huge fan of Gate 1. This was my first trip with Gate 1 but I will definitely be taking more trips with them. Several in our group were repeat "explorers" with Gate 1 and I can see why...an absolutely outstanding tour company.

It was a great trip! First time we had taken a guided trip and the result exceeded our expectations. Our guides, Leo, Millie and Jose, were knowledgeable, friendly, and willing to discuss whatever we had on our minds. They shared intimate information about the location, object or people represented by where we were. Our tour guide Leo Garcia, became a best friend and counselor, always available and concerned about our experience, health and comfort. By the time the tour ended, he had transformed our group into an extended family sharing his concern about each other. We had always traveled and done our planning on our own, but the reasonable cost and the tour's itinerary encouraged us to take advantage of Gate 1's offer and we're really glad we did. What a wonderful experience! Don't think we could have seen as much, eaten as well, and traveled with as little anxiety as we did with Leo and Gate 1. Thank you.
