The tour was fantastic. There were 29 travelers in the group and our tour manager was David. David was great and very knowledgeable about his country and was so enthusiastic about sharing his knowledge with the group. The hotels in both Bogota and Cartena were centrally located to restaurants and shopping. Our local guide, John in Bogota was very knowledgeable about the Colonial district of La Candaleria in Bogota and the Botero Museum in Bogota. I took the Funicular Train to Monserrate Mountain. This is an amazing site overlooking Bogota. In Cartagena, we had Vicki who was with us on the optional tour to the Mangrove. She brought this place alive with her information. I certainly enjoyed the old town in Cartagena. This tour was well-planned and executed. David, John and Vicki are certainly great asset to Gate 1. They were all very professional and friendly. They made sure everyone was well taken care. This is my second trip with Gate 1 and I will be on a third trip to Vietnam next year.Ramsahai S. Jamaica, NY
Our trip was great! We had a wonderful time visiting Columbia. The weather was nice during our visit and all tours that we took were well-planned and executed. The main tour guide, John Parou was EXCELLENT. He's a natural-born leader and he made sure that everyone's expectations were met and more. His knowledge of the areas we visited were good and he always went the extra mile to make sure the entire group had a good time and enjoyed every moment of the trip. Without John, the trip just wouldn't have been as enjoyable. He is a great asset to Gate 1, very professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and everything went smoothly under his leadership. Victoria Olivo was also excellent at her part of our trip, guiding us through the streets of Cartenega and showing us all of the interesting parts of her city. She was knowledgeable, good-natured, answering everyone's questions, and making us all feel as if we were a part of her family. This was our first trip with Gate 1, but it won't be our last. Upon until this point, most of our trips have been cruises, so if Gate 1 has any good deals on cruise trips, then please send those to us. Gate 1 was fantastic and we enjoyed our trip tremendously.James M. Anniston, AL
Our trip to Colombia was wonderful! We enjoyed it very much. Our tour guide, Juan David Camacho was one of the best guides we have had. He was very friendly, personable and knowledgeable. The accommodations were excellent in Bogota and in Cartegena. We were impressed with the airline, LAN, as it reminded us of the way American airline companies used to treat their passengers! I participated in the optional excursion to Monserrate in Bogota. This was a very enjoyable experience and well worth the money. In Cartegena we both went on La Boquilla Mangrove excursion. This was a favorite part of our trip. The canoe ride thru the wetlands was wonderful as I enjoy bird watching. Seeing the fishing village and especially visiting the school were extremely worthwhile. After touring the school, three of the children entertained us with folk dancing. It was a very nice way to have a more personal experience in a foreign country. We also appreciated the thoughtfulness of our tour guide in passing out bottled water frequently. We have traveled several times with Gate 1 and have found each trip delightful. We look forward to our next vacation!Kerry E. Winston Salem, NC
