Is This Trip Right for You?

Egypt's history and culture have not changed but recent political events have left their mark on daily life. You may see more armed guards and police vehicle presence than in the past. Security is of primary importance and we encourage you to travel in groups and not alone. Most domestic flights from Cairo to Upper Egypt (Luxor, Aswan) depart in the early morning, requiring waking before dawn. Some common comforts such as hygiene may be lacking. Consider the local dress code and watch your diet. Eat cooked food only and stick to bottled beverages. Due to Egypt's proximity to the Sahara Desert, local hot winds bring sand and dust everywhere. Dubai is an ultra-modern U.A.E. city built from desert sands. Dubai's culture is diverse. During Ramadan, historic and cultural sites may close early and operate with minimal staff. The majority of Dubai's citizens are foreign born and your local guides will likely have foreign roots. This program allows the flexibility to explore on your own. Hotel locations, services and amenities differ according to the Plan. Read the descriptions in full and locate the hotels on our provided map to ensure the Hotel/Plan you select meets your desired criteria. Affordable optional sightseeing excursions are available to enhance your holiday. You will encounter some uneven surfaces, cobbled streets, stairs, steps and significant slopes. I had a wonderful time in Egypt. It exceeded all my expectations and I want to add that we had an excellent guide throughout. Husam was knowledgeable, helpful, and went over and above to ensure we had a great time and felt safe. This was my first time traveling solo and at all times he made himself accessible to all my questions and helped in countless ways. He is definitely an asset to the company. Once again Gate 1 knocked it out of the park!! I can’t wait until my next adventure with Gate 1.

If I could adopt our tour guide, Hossam, I would do it in a heartbeat!!! Thank you for all you do at Gate 1. If it weren't for you and my yearly 'escapes', I don't think I would be enjoying life near as much.
