On this excursion, you will leave the State of Israel and cross the border to the Palestinian Authority. You will leave your Israeli guide and driver on the Israeli side, and upon arriving into the West Bank, you will be met by your Palestinian tour guide who will accompany you on this tour to Bethlehem. Large groups will necessarily split into smaller groups utilizing local shuttle buses, which will take you to visit the Church of the Nativity, commemorating the birthplace of Jesus Christ, with many restoration projects instituted throughout the years. The facade of the Church of the Nativity is encircled by the high walls of the three convents: the Franciscan on the northeast side, and the Greek Orthodox and the Armenian Orthodox on the southeast side. A shopping stop for local souvenirs and olive wood handicrafts, a principal source of local income, is included in the tour.
Please note that Bethlehem is located six miles south of Jerusalem in the West Bank and governed by the Palestinian National Authority.
The Church is currently undergoing renovations which are scheduled to continue through 2019. Expect to see scaffolding on parts of the structure, and as work is ongoing, there may be construction noise during normal visit hours. Due to the popularity of the Church, long lines are common and wait time may vary.
Approximate tour duration is 3 hours.

Ascend the towering desert mesa via cable car to visit the excavations of the fortress of King Herod and last stronghold of the Zealots against the Romans. Here you'll see many of the original structures such as the synagogue and storehouses that have been painstakingly restored by archaeologists. At the base, visit the Museum of Masada that combines archaeological artifacts with a narrated guided tour of the Story of Masada. Then, journey via Ein Gedi to the Dead Sea for an "unsinkable" swim in the buoyant, salty waters.
Pick-up and drop-off at the hotel. Approximate tour duration is 9 hours.
|Day #9||01 May 2018 - 30 Apr 2019||$89.00|
This morning, travel to the religious site of Bethany to explore first-hand the foundations of Christianity. The site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany where Jesus was baptized has long been known from the Bible and from Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River in Jordan, only 15 minutes by car from the Dead Sea Hotel. The Bethany area site formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo. This area is also associated with the biblical account of how the Prophet Elijah (Mar Elias in Arabic) ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire. This is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, where the Bible says Lazarus was raised from the dead. After the tour transfer back to your hotel.
Approximate tour duration is 3 hours.
|Day #10||12 Apr 2017 - 05 Apr 2019||$75.00|

On to Umayyad Palace where you’ll visit a comprehensive archaeological museum that displays artifacts from Jordan dating back to prehistoric times through the 15th century. The adventure continues while exploring the Roman Amphitheater, considered one of the largest in the Middle East. Its construction dates back to the beginning of the second Century AD. End with a walk in Amman’s downtown markets and city center before heading back to the hotel.
Approximate tour duration is 4 hours.

It was one of the best I ever had. Everything was so wonderful. The guide tour guy was exceptional as well as the driver. They were beyond expectation. Every day was so nice that I do not have any particular best day. All days were wonderful. Congratulations Gate 1 I am going to recommended this trip to my friends. Thank you so much Gate 1 for this beautiful trip.Edwin C. Bellflower, CA
Our trip was absolutely fantastic! This is the first time we have done an organised tour, and I cannot praise Gate1 highly enough. The hotels were all top class, the food superb, and the itinerary covered so much ground. It would have been impossible for us to see and do as much had we attempted to do it on our own.. A special mention re our tour guide, Rotem Litov, he was fantastic. His in-depth knowledge and ongoing commentary of the sights we saw was brilliant. I think I learnt more in a week from him than I did studying history at school for four years. He also managed to keep everyone in the group on a tight reign, not an easy job given he was looking after 40 people, so that none of the rest of the group was inconvenienced. We would definitely use Gate1 again, and I would have no hesitation in recommending your company to friends and family.Peter D. Auckland, NZ

My trip was absolutely fabulous! I already referred people who want to go to Israel to contact Gate 1 Travel. The thing I loved was I traveled solo and felt safe throughout my trip from start to finish I had no problems with flight, hotels or tours. Everything was as described and Gate 1 kept in contact about my itinerary up to three days before departure with reminders. I am already planning to return to Israel with a trip to Jordan. We would recommend Gate 1 to anyone.Dimitrie K. Ontario, Canada
I’d like to thank Gate 1 for my wonderful stay in Israel. The experience was educational, spiritually enriching and fun of course. A lot of the credit goes to our tour guide, Ophir, who was simply amazing. He was very professional and knowledgeable on a lot of topics. He patiently answered questions which I must say were not few. He took very good care of the group and even gave us treats (e.g. fresh pomegranate juice, fresh fig he picked from a fig tree and the tasty halva) and reminded us not to forget our VAT refund . And there was our driver, Kobi, who was always smiling and always happy to welcome us back to his cool bus. Thanks again Gate 1. You’re the best.Nila V. British Columbia, Canada

At last I overcome Petra! & Jerusalem was fantastic! Overall, I love it! Thank you again for your excellent service & care.Alice L. Fresh Meadows, NY
My family and I had an amazing trip w/Gate 1. It was our first time doing a tour group, and we were pleasantly surprised. We travel a lot but usually independently and get guides upon arrival. Liat, our tour guide for this trip, was amazing. She's incredibly knowledgeable, enthusiastic and well-prepared. We enjoyed the sites of Israel and would definitely recommend Liat and Gate 1. She was fantastic!Mailee G. Chicago, IL

The entire trip was very insightful and enjoyable experience from the information provided by the tour guides to the counties visited. It was undeniably the best trip we have ever taken. This trip proved that one must visit a place to truly appreciate it's wonder. We look forward to our next trip with Gate 1 Travel. Thank you again. Hashim who guided us through Jordan and Adina thorough Israel were better than anyone could ever expect.Halina G. Burbank, IL
The trip was fabulous!! Arie is a exceptionally wonderful tour guide and teacher!! It was like a full semester of history and archeology in just one week!! Very pleased with all that we saw and learned. Highly recommend this trip. My favorite Gate 1 tour thus far!!Elizabeth S. Eastham, MA
This was my best Gate 1 trip yet. First of all, I loved the Biblical history of both Israel and Jordan; loved the sites and excursions. Petra was awe inspiring; walking the signs of the cross in Jerusalem had so much meaning. The four-wheel drive in the Jordan desert was very interesting, especially teamed with tea and a lunch with the bedouins--I could go on and on. The tour guide in Israel, Uri, was fantastic. I thought that the poor tour guide in Jordan could never compete, but I was wrong. Hazim Mahadin was spectacular as well. Both men had a passion for their countries and their histories. They were always willing to answer questions; always friendly and helpful. It was so refreshing to get different perspectives on the Middle East and its people than what we see on our regular news programs in the US. I will highly recommend Gate 1 and these tour guides to my friends and family. A most memorable trip!! The only downside was the 2:20 am flight out of Amman, but that's a minor complaint. I always feel Gate 1 takes good care of its customers. Thank you!!Lorena C. Garland, TX
We had a wonderful time and two great guides. Loved the Marriotts in Jordan. We especially enjoyed Jordan; so much to see that we didn’t realize how much there was beyond Petra. Our guide, Hamiz, was our all-time favorite; he was so knowledgeable and demonstrated a real love and compassion for his country. All the Jordanians we met were so welcoming. We’ve never been thanked so many times for visiting a country.Virginia D. Wdm, IA
Our trip was really great and the tour guide, Ralph was very informative on history, religion and politics of Israel. We saw so much and the hotels were nice and comfortable.Linda H. New Bern, NC
We had so much fun on this vacation. It's our very first time to join a tour as we usually go on our own but we find this rather a better and stress free way of touring an unfamiliar place. We heard many good things about Gate 1 from fellow tourists who are repeat customers, so we will definitely use Gate 1 again in the future. Thanks for all the work you guys did for us.Joselito I. Hayward, CA
Great trip. Gate 1 was first class throughout. The hotels were nice, the Bus was new, the Tour Guide ... Leor, was informative and funny and we saw a ton of places. I am looking forward to using your services for my next trip.Chia C. Maplewood, NJ
Our trip to Israel was wonderful! We have always traveled independently, so it was with great apprehension that we embarked on an escorted tour. Experiencing a Gate 1 tour has really changed my perspective on world travel! We had very little concern about all the details of our vacation because they were all taken care of. We felt rather spoiled! As soon as we returned I began looking at out other Gate 1 tours for future holidays!Barbara S. Henrietta, NY
Our trip was fantastic. Our tour guide Sid was excellent. He was very personable and knowledgeable. We had a great time. Would recommend this tour to anyone.Bradley N. Dayton, TX
It was AWESOME! Our tour guide, Ophir, was exceptional. This was truly a trip of a lifetime. My husband and I said it was the best trip we've ever taken. This was our first Gate 1 tour but certainly not our last. We found the information to be very informative to prepare for this trip.Vicki L. Simpsonville, SC
