This morning, travel to the religious site of Bethany to explore first-hand the foundations of Christianity. The site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany where Jesus was baptized has long been known from the Bible and from Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River in Jordan, only 15 minutes by car from the Dead Sea Hotel. The Bethany area site formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo. This area is also associated with the biblical account of how the Prophet Elijah (Mar Elias in Arabic) ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire. This is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, where the Bible says Lazarus was raised from the dead. After the tour transfer back to your hotel.

| It is each traveler's responsibility to have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel and a visa if required. IMPORTANT: Passengers who are not U.S. citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa. Passport applications are available at most U.S. Post Offices, as well as at regional Passport Agencies. Passengers requiring visas, whether obtained in advance or locally upon arrival, should ensure that their passport has blank pages.

| If you are traveling with friends or family who are booked on another reservation, please make sure that we are aware. On occasion, we may operate more than one vehicle on your tour departure in which case we will ensure that guests will be assigned together. This is achieved by connecting your reservations before your departure. Once you arrive in your destination, it may not be possible to make assignment changes. | Trip Preparation |
| A little pre-planning can make your trip go a lot smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas, driver's license) are in order. Make sure also that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip and carry them with you in case your luggage is delayed. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in the event that your luggage is delayed or lost. Lost luggage is common. We strongly urge you to consider carry-ons instead of checked bags when possible, and when checking a bag is necessary, choose a bag color and identification that stands out. We suggest that you make photocopies of passports, visas, personal ID and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. You may also make a digital copy of your passport to keep a clear picture with the important details in your cell phone or digital camera photos. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. You may consider bringing a small supply of over the counter medications for headaches and/or anti-diarrhea pills (especially when traveling outside of the USA and Western Europe). We recommend that you pack a portable alarm clock. Due to security reasons, many museums have restrictions on the size of bags that can be taken inside and backpacks, carry-on bags or large purses may not be permitted. It is recommended to bring a small shoulder bag or purse to use in these situations instead. Avoid placing valuables such as cameras in your checked luggage. Airplane pressure can cause similar pressure in your body, most notably in ears, as well as liquid tubes and bottles. Your physician can suggest medication for decongestion. We suggest that you place liquid containers into Ziploc bags to catch any leaks. |
| Travel Safety Advice: The safety of our guests is Gate 1’s #1 concern. Before making the decision to reserve your vacation, we want you to be aware of potential situations which may impact your holiday. | Seat Assignments |
| As a courtesy service, complimentary airline seat assignments are requested on your behalf and, when available, are displayed in order of Passenger #1, #2 and so on. Assignments reflect the best available seats at the time of booking. Some airlines and/or fare types do not allow for pre-seating and require this be done at airport check-in only; in which case the display shows “N/A”. Seats are subject to change by your airline(s) including, for example, when there is a schedule change or equipment change after your initial booking; this may cause seat assignments to be changed or even cancelled. Some airlines offer preferred seating for an additional fee; these seats may only be purchased directly from the airline. You will need your family name and the 6-digit airline “Record Locator” which is displayed with the flight details on your reservation. In the event that you change seat assignments directly with your airline, changes will not be reflected on your invoice or documents. At the time that Gate 1 travel documents are issued, the currently assigned seats will be listed based on the assignments stored in your airline reservation at that time. | Luggage & Packing |
| Checked bags are typically limited to a total dimension of 62 inches by adding length + width + height (example: 26"+26"+10" = 62”), and a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23kg). Smart Bags with a USB charging port, GPS tracking device and other high-tech features are prohibited as checked or carry-on baggage unless the bag is made with removable batteries and the batteries are removed and stored separately. Many airlines charge for checked bags including flights which begin and end within the USA. The most inexpensive airfare options commonly known as Basic Economy airfares do not include any checked bags nor seat assignments before the day of departure. However, for some airlines, other airfare categories also do not include checked baggage. This will be clearly displayed in our airfare selection and on your invoice. Where available, we highly recommend selecting airfares which include at least 1 piece of checked baggage. Gate 1 Travel is not responsible for checked bag fees, excess luggage or weight charges levied by an airline. Checked baggage allowances displayed on reservation details and invoices reflect the applicable allowance at the time of booking but are subject to change by your airline(s). Avoid placing valuables in your checked luggage. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard the aircraft in your luggage, your carry-on or on your person. | What to do if You Need Assistance |
Whether you purchased your airfare from Gate 1 Travel or from the airline directly, please bear in mind that Gate 1 Travel does not own nor operate the airline(s), nor the airport facilities where they operate. At times, flying can be a frustrating experience, especially when things do not go exactly as planned, and airline explanations can be confusing or even misleading. Should you face a problem, remain calm and seek assistance either from the airline directly or from Gate 1. Please be aware that in most cases, on the day of your flight(s), airlines pass responsibility for your reservation to their staff at the airport and it is not always possible for Gate 1 Travel to intervene on your behalf, either through our reservations system or directly with your airline. |

| Upon arrival, please complete immigration formalities if necessary and claim your luggage. If your program includes airport arrival transfers, check your voucher for specific instructions, as they vary with every destination. In most cases, you will be met after collecting your luggage or passing through Customs by the local representative who will be holding a Gate 1 Travel sign and/or a sign with your name on it. In some instances you will be instructed to walk a short distance to a transportation counter. The company's name and location will be printed on your voucher. If for any reason you do not connect with the Gate 1 transfer personnel, go to the Tourist Information Desk and ask them to page the Gate 1 Travel representative or phone the number on your voucher. If you are delayed due to lost luggage, phone the number on the voucher or have a companion exit the Customs Area to advise the transfer representative. Be wary of airport scammers who offer unwanted assistance. If you are arriving without a pre-arranged transfer, we strongly recommend going to the Tourist Information Desk to ask for a licensed taxi or transfer service. You may be asked to pay for the transfer at the desk prior to the trip, this will ensure you are not charged extra during the trip. |
| What To Do When Your Flight Is Delayed |
| Airlines do not share flight manifest information. Therefore, the only way we may learn of a delay or schedule change while you are traveling is from you, the traveler. The sooner you are able to contact one of our offices, the better we can respond. Please refer to the Emergency Assistance instructions on this same document. Gate 1 Travel is only able to guarantee pre-reserved arrival transfers for up to one hour from the scheduled time, no matter the cause. In case you are delayed for any reason, and are unable to follow the instructions on your voucher, please make independent transfer arrangements and retain your receipts. Unused tour services, including transfers and hotel nights are not refundable. Upon you return home you will need to contact your airline and/or insurance carrier to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for any unused tour services. |

| Transfers |
| Due to local traffic and other extenuating circumstances, we ask that you allow 30 minutes from your scheduled transfer time for our representative to arrive. This includes hotel, airport and cruise transfers. Such possible delays are taken into consideration in scheduling transfers and you should therefore have no concerns about arriving late for your tour, flight or cruise. For transfers from a hotel, let the hotel reception desk or concierge know that you are waiting for a transfer. In the case of a missed transfer, reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses will be considered provided you obtain a written statement from the hotel's front desk verifying the length of time you waited, and the time you left the hotel, and a receipt for your transportation with time and date. The cost of a transfer is more expensive than hiring a taxi, as a Gate 1 transfer necessarily includes round trip service, or 'dead-leg'. Often the places of call (airports, seaports, hotels) demand entrance and parking fees, where drivers may have to wait for up to an hour. Passengers comfortable hiring a taxi on their own and do not require assistance will save money. |
| About Your Escorted Tour Participants in Jordan |
| Please note that the number of participants may vary during your tour as we accommodate travelers at different points in the itinerary. 9 Day Classic passengers will begin their trip with an overnight on Friday. 14 Day & 17 Day Jordan & Israel passengers will begin their trip with an overnight on Saturday. All Jordan passengers will go to Petra together. The 9 Day Classic and 14 Day Jordan & Israel will then head to the Dead Sea. The 17 Day Jordan & Israel will head to Amman, as they visit the Dead Sea later in Israel. All Jordan passengers will depart the country on Friday. 9 Day Classic passengers will depart from Amman and fly home. 14 & 17 Day Jordan & Israel passengers will cross the border into Israel where they will meet up with another group in Jerusalem and continue touring. Upon arrival at your first destination, you will be invited to join a welcome orientation with your Tour Manager and will meet your tour companions. |

| Gate 1 Travel has carefully selected each hotel based on overall quality, location, price, service, and cleanliness. All rooms are standard twin-bedded (two single beds) rooms with private facilities. Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a run-of-house basis. Triple rooms consist of standard twin beds or one double bed plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person except in the U.S. and Canada, where triple rooms often consist of two double/queen beds for three persons; where available, a fee may be charged by the hotel for the addition of a cot/rollaway. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. Although available at most 4 and 5 star hotels, the use of air-conditioning abroad differs greatly from the United States, and is often shut down at night and from the end until the start of the summer months. Some lodges and accommodations in remote regions may not have all of the amenities, such as hairdryer, alarm clock and room service, that you might find in a larger hotel located in a city center. |

| Jordan - Hotels and restaurants that are frequented mostly by tourists will add a gratuity to your bill and additional tipping is at your discretion. At smaller establishments it is customary to tip according to the level of service received. Taxi drivers do not expect a gratuity and rounding up to the nearest dinar is usually sufficient. |
| About Your Sightseeing |
| To ensure a pleasant and fair experience for passengers on our escorted tours, there is a mandatory seat rotation policy on our motor coaches which will be organized by your Tour Manager. On river cruises, color-coded group splits may be used for shoreside included and Optional tours. Some buses are equipped with toilet facility, however they are strictly intended for emergency use only and often require the vehicle to stop for safety reasons before use. When travel dates coincide with religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, sometimes without prior notice. On these occasions, escorted touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. We have built into our Escorted itineraries a few shopping stops at recommended spots. These stops are designed to enhance your experience by providing an opportunity to see first-hand quality locally crafted merchandise which you may not be able to find on your own. Shops are checked to ensure the quality and authenticity of the products they offer, and we limit guides from visiting other locations. In some cases, we plan these stops to provide an opportunity to use clean bathrooms and to stretch your legs. All shops want your satisfaction, and therefore in case of any misunderstanding they ask that you kindly submit your claim to us within one week of the item's receipt. Claims submitted later will be subject to each store’s policies. While shopping independently, we advise you to exercise care and common sense when making any purchase. Always get a formal receipt. And remember that, just like in this country, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is! IMPORTANT: Passengers who are not U.S. citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa. Passport applications are available at most U.S. Post Offices, as well as at regional Passport Agencies. Passengers requiring visas, whether obtained in advance or locally upon arrival, should ensure that their passport has blank pages.

On occasion, we may operate more than one vehicle on your tour departure in which case we will ensure that guests will be assigned together. | Trip Preparation |
| A little pre-planning can make your trip go a lot smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas, driver's license) are in order. Make sure also that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip and carry them with you in case your luggage is delayed. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in the event that your luggage is delayed or lost. Lost luggage is common. We strongly urge you to consider carry-ons instead of checked bags when possible, and when checking a bag is necessary, choose a bag color and identification that stands out. We suggest that you make photocopies of passports, visas, personal ID and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. You may also make a digital copy of your passport to keep a clear picture with the important details in your cell phone or digital camera photos. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. You may consider bringing a small supply of over the counter medications for headaches and/or anti-diarrhea pills (especially when traveling outside of the USA and Western Europe). We recommend that you pack a portable alarm clock. Due to security reasons, many museums have restrictions on the size of bags that can be taken inside and backpacks, carry-on bags or large purses may not be permitted. It is recommended to bring a small shoulder bag or purse to use in these situations instead. Avoid placing valuables such as cameras in your checked luggage. Airplane pressure can cause similar pressure in your body, most notably in ears, as well as liquid tubes and bottles. Your physician can suggest medication for decongestion. We suggest that you place liquid containers into Ziploc bags to catch any leaks. |
| Travel Safety Advice: The safety of our guests is Gate 1’s #1 concern. Before making the decision to reserve your vacation, we want you to be aware of potential situations which may impact your holiday. | As a courtesy service, complimentary airline seat assignments are requested on your behalf and, when available, are displayed in order of Passenger #1, #2 and so on. Assignments reflect the best available seats at the time of booking. Some airlines and/or fare types do not allow for pre-seating and require this be done at airport check-in only; in which case the display shows “N/A”. Seats are subject to change by your airline(s) including, for example, when there is a schedule change or equipment change after your initial booking; this may cause seat assignments to be changed or even cancelled. Some airlines offer preferred seating for an additional fee; these seats may only be purchased directly from the airline. You will need your family name and the 6-digit airline “Record Locator” which is displayed with the flight details on your reservation. In the event that you change seat assignments directly with your airline, changes will not be reflected on your invoice or documents. At the time that Gate 1 travel documents are issued, the currently assigned seats will be listed based on the assignments stored in your airline reservation at that time. | Luggage & Packing |
| Checked bags are typically limited to a total dimension of 62 inches by adding length + width + height (example: 26"+26"+10" = 62”), and a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23kg). Smart Bags with a USB charging port, GPS tracking device and other high-tech features are prohibited as checked or carry-on baggage unless the bag is made with removable batteries and the batteries are removed and stored separately. Many airlines charge for checked bags including flights which begin and end within the USA. The most inexpensive airfare options commonly known as Basic Economy airfares do not include any checked bags nor seat assignments before the day of departure. However, for some airlines, other airfare categories also do not include checked baggage. This will be clearly displayed in our airfare selection and on your invoice. Where available, we highly recommend selecting airfares which include at least 1 piece of checked baggage. Gate 1 Travel is not responsible for checked bag fees, excess luggage or weight charges levied by an airline. Checked baggage allowances displayed on reservation details and invoices reflect the applicable allowance at the time of booking but are subject to change by your airline(s). Avoid placing valuables in your checked luggage. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard the aircraft in your luggage, your carry-on or on your person. | What to do if You Need Assistance |
Whether you purchased your airfare from Gate 1 Travel or from the airline directly, please bear in mind that Gate 1 Travel does not own nor operate the airline(s), nor the airport facilities where they operate. At times, flying can be a frustrating experience, especially when things do not go exactly as planned, and airline explanations can be confusing or even misleading. Should you face a problem, remain calm and seek assistance either from the airline directly or from Gate 1. Please be aware that in most cases, on the day of your flight(s), airlines pass responsibility for your reservation to their staff at the airport and it is not always possible for Gate 1 Travel to intervene on your behalf, either through our reservations system or directly with your airline. |

| Upon arrival, please complete immigration formalities if necessary and claim your luggage. If your program includes airport arrival transfers, check your voucher for specific instructions, as they vary with every destination. In most cases, you will be met after collecting your luggage or passing through Customs by the local representative who will be holding a Gate 1 Travel sign and/or a sign with your name on it. In some instances you will be instructed to walk a short distance to a transportation counter. The company's name and location will be printed on your voucher. If for any reason you do not connect with the Gate 1 transfer personnel, go to the Tourist Information Desk and ask them to page the Gate 1 Travel representative or phone the number on your voucher. If you are delayed due to lost luggage, phone the number on the voucher or have a companion exit the Customs Area to advise the transfer representative. Be wary of airport scammers who offer unwanted assistance. If you are arriving without a pre-arranged transfer, we strongly recommend going to the Tourist Information Desk to ask for a licensed taxi or transfer service. You may be asked to pay for the transfer at the desk prior to the trip, this will ensure you are not charged extra during the trip. |
| What To Do When Your Flight Is Delayed |
| Airlines do not share flight manifest information. Therefore, the only way we may learn of a delay or schedule change while you are traveling is from you, the traveler. The sooner you are able to contact one of our offices, the better we can respond. Please refer to the Emergency Assistance instructions on this same document. Gate 1 Travel is only able to guarantee pre-reserved arrival transfers for up to one hour from the scheduled time, no matter the cause. In case you are delayed for any reason, and are unable to follow the instructions on your voucher, please make independent transfer arrangements and retain your receipts. Unused tour services, including transfers and hotel nights are not refundable. Upon you return home you will need to contact your airline and/or insurance carrier to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for any unused tour services. |

| Transfers |
| Due to local traffic and other extenuating circumstances, we ask that you allow 30 minutes from your scheduled transfer time for our representative to arrive. This includes hotel, airport and cruise transfers. Such possible delays are taken into consideration in scheduling transfers and you should therefore have no concerns about arriving late for your tour, flight or cruise. For transfers from a hotel, let the hotel reception desk or concierge know that you are waiting for a transfer. In the case of a missed transfer, reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses will be considered provided you obtain a written statement from the hotel's front desk verifying the length of time you waited, and the time you left the hotel, and a receipt for your transportation with time and date. The cost of a transfer is more expensive than hiring a taxi, as a Gate 1 transfer necessarily includes round trip service, or 'dead-leg'. Often the places of call (airports, seaports, hotels) demand entrance and parking fees, where drivers may have to wait for up to an hour. Passengers comfortable hiring a taxi on their own and do not require assistance will save money. |

| Please note that the number of participants may vary during your tour as we accommodate travelers at different points in the itinerary. 9 Day Classic passengers will begin their trip with an overnight on Friday. 14 Day & 17 Day Jordan & Israel passengers will begin their trip with an overnight on Saturday. All Jordan passengers will go to Petra together. The 9 Day Classic and 14 Day Jordan & Israel will then head to the Dead Sea. The 17 Day Jordan & Israel will head to Amman, as they visit the Dead Sea later in Israel. All Jordan passengers will depart the country on Friday. 9 Day Classic passengers will depart from Amman and fly home. 14 & 17 Day Jordan & Israel passengers will cross the border into Israel where they will meet up with another group in Jerusalem and continue touring. | To ensure a pleasant and fair experience for passengers on our escorted tours, there is a mandatory seat rotation policy on our motor coaches which will be organized by your Tour Manager. On river cruises, color-coded group splits may be used for shoreside included and Optional tours. Some buses are equipped with toilet facility, however they are strictly intended for emergency use only and often require the vehicle to stop for safety reasons before use. When travel dates coincide with religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, sometimes without prior notice. On these occasions, escorted touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, and/or due to other unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions, there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, which may affect the sequence of the tour and locations visited. National monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovations, which can obscure the monument's view. No tour will be canceled due to renovations, however Gate 1 will decide based on the conditions whether to amend an itinerary. To respect the privacy of all tour participants, your tour manager will not organize a group photo or collect passenger email addresses for a group list. |

I was taken to the car and driver that would take me to the Marriott Amman. Check in was also quick & easy and the Marriott was absolutely fantastic. I met our guide, Ali and other tour members the next day as I arrived a day earlier. The tour was wonderful and we saw everything promised and more. Ali was very thorough in his explanations of what we were seeing in this beautiful and amazing country. My recent visit to Jordan was more than perfect. Jordan was peaceful and safe despite the war next door in Israel with Hamas. Omar, our tour manager, is a gem. With his background in biblical studies and archeology, our group of five participants received extensive information about the sites we visited, the culture, and the history of Jordan. Omar was kind, joyful, and attentive to our needs. You could not have a better representative for Gate 1. The three Marriott hotels were comfortable, well situated to the sites visited, the staff kind and hospitable, and the food served absolutely delicious, varied, and plentiful. Our driver, Fatieh, was also kind and hospitable, and a wonderful driver. I do not believe there will ever be such a perfect trip as this was for our group of five. I can't wait for my next trip with Gate 1. I have told a number of my friends about Gate 1.

The Jordan walking tour was AMAZING!! Our guides were fabulous, they helped immerse us into the culture and show us so much of Jordan! Everyone was incredibly flexible and worked with the group's wants, needs, and abilities. Several things changed during the visit but everyone was flexible and I did not feel like we missed out on anything. I have a food allergy and everyone was very accommodating of my needs at every stop. Abrahim, our one guide, modified plans based on weather, group needs, and contacted the main office as needed based on group feedback. Thankfully we were able to do the back hike to get into Petra which was AMAZING! We were able to see just about the entire place and avoided the crowds due to the trek that we took which worked out fabulously! The only complaint was that I wish we had more time at the Dead Sea. We had enough time to go in for a bit, thankfully. We were at the resort for maybe 5 hours before it was time to leave for the airport. Overall amazing trip!

The trip was quite exhausting, but it was well worth the visit. Our tour manager in Israel Mika and Omar in Jordan were both nice, pleasant and most importantly knowledgeable about the history and culture of their respective countries. Lahdo, the local tour guide in Bethlehem is equally nice, pleasant and knowledgeable as well. Haled in Israel and Sammy in Jordan were both very cautious and careful drivers. Muhannad Tomlieh, Gate1 airport representative helped us all the way for a smooth check in until he can't come with us pass the way going to the boarding gate. This trip was excellent, with active and compressed itinerary, and very well planned. The last minute airline schedule change, 2 weeks before our departure, was a shock with 4 am arrival at Cairo and 4 am departure returning home. Upon arrival, Gate 1 arranged a day room for 6 hours at an airport hotel before we checked in at our scheduled regular hotel. For our return flight we were arranged to spend our long layover at the VIP lounge at the airport. The way Gate 1 handles arrivals, departures, hotel/boat check-in/out procedures and the transfer of luggage is a stress reliever. The success of the Egypt trip in large part can be credited to our tour manager, Rasha. She is extremely knowledgeable of ancient Egyptian history and current day Egyptian culture. From day one, her friendliness and hospitality made all of us feel so welcome to be in her country. She has terrific people skills, caring and yet consistent in her expectations of the group. She did everything to ensure our safety and warned us about uneven surfaces and constantly reminded us to be careful every step of the way. She also knows invaluable insider tips about where to shop, where to eat, and what to do. This was a very active trip with early wake up calls and lots of walking. The early arrivals to the sites certainly had the benefit of smaller crowds and better visitation experience. Jordan, the second part of our trip, was also excellent. Our tour manager, Hazim, is very experienced and has a great sense of humor. He knows the sites very well, seamlessly planned and timed our visits smoothly. He was very entertaining, very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained each site we visited and left no question unanswered. I saw many sites and things, travelled many miles and ate more food than I ever thought during these 17 days but never felt rushed. What makes a tour "best vacation ever" is the tour manager. I was fortunate to have the best two tour managers this time. Thanks to Gate 1 for this wonderful experience which enriched my life. This is one trip I could not accomplish if I was doing on my own.

Although we were expecting the holiness of the place, we were blasted by the extra activities that our guide prepared for us, like the show of King David after the Armenian dinner, the lunch at the market place and of course the float in the Dead Sea. Our 2nd trip to Egypt with Gate1, but with the addition of Jordan this time. What an amazing trip! Our tour manager in Egypt, Tarek, was absolutely and simply the best tour manager we've EVER had on all our trips. Friendly, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, really cared for our little "family" of 31 and kept us on track and safe, and he imparted SO much knowledge that added greatly to our tour. Thank you soooooooo much, Tarek! Our tour manager in Jordan, Mohammed, was also very good and friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and (as we all warmed up to each other) funny! Both men are incredible assets to Gate1, and anyone who tours with them will have a great time. If you're considering any of the Egypt/Jordan Gate1 tours but are holding off because you're concerned about safety, we always felt safe. Security rode and walked with us every day in Egypt and was unobtrusive but always there keeping an eye on everything. The Egyptian people are friendly and happy to see you. Same with the Jordanian people. Vendors can be a little pushy but a polite "no thank you" (or two), or better yet, a polite "la shokran" (or two) and they'll leave you alone. Be warned, though, this is a VERY active trip. Early wake up calls, lots (and LOTS) of walking, on the go. As Tarek said, "you can sleep when you're home!" This was simply an absolutely amazing trip with wonderful staff in 2 incredible countries. Thank you, Gate1!

This was our first travel with Gate 1 and my husband and I were very happy with our trip. Our reservation was quick, it was easy to speak with Mario when one of our itinerary was cancelled by Turkish Airline and he was so responsive and courteous. The communication from Gate 1 pre-travel was great. Our tour expert in Israel, Ilan was tremendous. He was knowledgeable, fun and very professional. He was very approachable and loved by our tour group. We found a friend in him! Our tour guide in Jordan, Omar was also knowledgeable, fun and professional. He had his own method of organizing the group. He was approachable and had the interest of his traveler as well. Both tour guides were excellent. We recommend them highly. They really take interest in their travelers . They live what they do. They have the personal touch. Gate 1 is lucky to have Ilan and Omar. The drivers, Reuben and Mazen were amazing , approachable, friendly, caring and were very skilled drivers. We have confidence in their safe driving. The hotel accommodations were great. Wish we could stay longer in each destination. The actual tour schedule was hectic but worth it. We certainly could have lessened the optional tours but we would have never known what we have missed out on. The selections were great from the many sites to visit. The Gate 1 representatives were very helpful. We were assisted at the Amman airport until we were all checked in. This is traveling with confidence that there is someone there when we need help. Truly, truly, satisfied with Gate 1 services from day 1. The only negative is that we traveled from Seattle to JFK , to Istanbul then Tel Aviv. On our return, Amman to Istanbul then finally Seattle. My Jordan trip was very memorable! Our trip Omar was one of the best tour guides I have encountered since I have been using Gate 1 for my travels since 2013. He was efficient, very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our trip enjoyable and memorable. For instance he was taking our pictures with our own camera as we handed it to him during the camel caravan. He was running through the desert to take our pictures. My husband, Rick and I had a wonderful time on our Jordan Discovery Tour. Our outstanding guide, Hazim, was the best travel guide we have had anywhere in the world! Although I have had a number of amazing guides, I can say that Waleed is absolutely the best that I have ever encountered. Gate 1 needs to give this guy a raise or promotion or something super special because Waleed is without a doubt representing Gate 1 in stellar fashion. I have so much respect for the people of Jordan as a whole. Although I never received a request from you for a personal review for a recent trip ( 16 Day Deluxe Israel and Jordan), I feel compelled to write regarding the superb guides and bus drivers in both countries as well as the outstanding Gate 1 service and planning, beginning with pick up at the Tel Aviv airport and ending with Gate 1 support at the Amman airport. The hotels were superb, the meals delicious, and the travel arrangements between hotels, between tourist sites and between countries, were seamless. Kudos to the Gate 1 planning team, from initial reservation in 2019 and due to Covid, rescheduled twice! In Israel, Gabriella (Gabi) , our tour manager and guide, was a font of information regarding history- both historical/archaeological and the history of the state of Israel. She is extremely knowledgeable regarding the culture, religion and food ways of her country. Gabi is a master planner and facilitator, shepherding us daily through a rich itinerary, coordinating departures, entry times, lunch and dinner reservations, leaving us each day with rich memories of Roman cities, natural wonders, Christian holy sites and Jewish religious/cultural experiences. Gabi's ability to communicate her love and passion for Israel coupled with her empathy, understanding, concern, and care for the 20 tourists under her care made for wonderful traveling. Our Israeli bus driver, Aman, was outstanding, maneuvering a large bus in crowded cities with skill and humor. And across the border we were met by our Jordanian driver Mohammed, equally skillful and engaging. In Jordan, we were welcomed at the Israeli border by Ali , our charming and exceptional tour manager and guide. Ali's extensive knowledge of history, archaeology, Islam, and Jordanian culture, coupled with his engaging manner, ability to communicate and involve his audience, made our experience especially memorable and enjoyable. Our itinerary was was filled from sunrise until nighttime. Ali delivered wonderful lectures on the tour bus as we traveled from site to site and seamlessly planned and timed our visits and meals. Ali's concern for us, his wealth of information, ability to engage his audience, and the spectacular sites in Jordan all contributed to an exciting week of travel.

My trip was amazing. Our tour guide Omar was wonderful in how he helped each of us when needed to experience all that Jordan had to offer and was so knowledgeable that he could answer almost every question put forth, and in the rare times he didn't know the answers he looked them up and then told us. This was my 2nd Gate 1 trip. My 3rd is this September and I hope that tour guide is as wonderful as Omar. The Discovery Tour showed us so much of Jordan. Our tour, the 17 Day Crown of Egypt and Jordan with 4-Day Nile Cruise, was absolutely amazing. Both of our tour managers, Noura in Egypt and Omar in Jordan, possessed encyclopedic knowledge of the sites we visited. Their boundless enthusiasm for that history was contagious and our questions were always thoughtfully and completely answered. Noura was a force of nature, leading the way and reminding us to "watch the uneven ground" while telling us about a particular site and its place in Egyptian history. Her energy kept us all going during that intense week of touring. Omar led at a more relaxed pace but no less effectively or admirably, and his wonderful sense of humor kept us on our toes. We also greatly enjoyed his insights into present-day Jordanian social and family life and structure, which helped some long hours on the bus pass quickly. I also wish to give a shout-out to Adel, our airport liaison in Cairo. His good humor and efficiency smoothed the way and made what could be a confusing and intimidating process much easier. This tour was a wonderful, amazing and unforgettable experience. We could not have asked for better tour managers.

Another fantastic Discovery tour is done. Jordan. It was incredible. Our tour guide Waleed was amazing. So knowledgeable, so friendly, polite, kind, concerned about our safety. He really gave us a great insight into Jordan and Jordanian families. We all fell in love with him. Our driver Mohammad was great on the open road and on some very tricky streets. The hotels were the best we've ever experienced on a Discovery tour. We were a group of 13 like-minded travelers, all repeat customers. Everyone was a pleasure to travel with. We cannot say enough about Gate 1 Discovery tours and tell family and friends about them constantly.

My husband Mike and I just returned from an extraordinary tour of Israel, Jordan and Petra. We completed the online survey, and we also wanted to express how much our amazing guides made our trip better than we could have expected. Both were able to look at current conditions of weather, or traffic, or other factors, and adjust the schedule and timing so that we could have the richest use of time, and the best conditions for our destinations. We realize that required extra effort on their part, and we really appreciate it. Especially when Omar worked to switch reservations so we could be at Petra before severe weather hit, that made a highlight of the trip something that we could enjoy completely, instead of rush through while trying not to be frozen in a snow storm. We noticed and appreciated so much extra effort from Simon and Omar. It has made us want to return to Israel and Jordan, as well as look forward to our other trips.

First and foremost, I would like to thank Gate 1 for another amazing trip. This isn't my first trip with Gate 1, so I am confident that my trip would be nothing more than what I expected. The accommodations as well as the hotel was above my expectations. The staff was friendly and the facilities was up to par if not more than what envisioned. The one thing I wanted to comment about is our tour manager- Waleed. Waleed went above and beyond to make sure that this was the best experience that my friend Heidy and I could ever experience in Jordan. Waleed was knowledgeable, accommodating and went out of his way to make sure that we felt safe and secure on the trip. He answered our questions the best he could, and made sure that we absorbed and experienced as much of Jordan that time would allow. Not only did he provide us with attention and support during the tour, he made it clear that he was always available to us any time of the day by providing his number and made it clear that we shouldn't hesitate to message him if we had any issues. The ride back to the airport was seamless. We got home safe knowing that we had the best experience ever. I would recommend Gate 1, Jordan and our tour manager Waleed without hesitation to any of my friends or family. Without doubt, I will be traveling with Gate 1 in the future.

My recent trip to Jordan was outstanding in every way. Our group was small (6) and we all got along extremely well. Ali, our guide was extraordinary. His love and pride for his country and efforts to get us to see Jordan as he sees it, was tremendous. He worked so hard to get us to see everything that we could, telling us the history, pertinent facts about what we were seeing and little details, we would have missed but for him. He helped us feel comfortable in every way. His choice of restaurants allowed us the opportunity to sample local food and the stories behind the food. Hi genuine care for each of us was amazing. He and Mohammed, our driver, were there for us at all times. Their friendliness and support were felt continuously throughout the trip. The country was beautiful. Petra and Jerash were unbelievable and beyond my wildest imagination and the pictures I had seen do not do them justice. They were spectacular in every way. This was an amazing trip that I will remember forever. Every stop had a purpose and Ali's descriptions told us all we needed to know. He allowed us time to wander around, shop and enjoy the local culture. it was truly magnificent. Thank you Gate 1 for another outstanding trip and for employing guides who are world-class. Reasons for considering Ali, the best Tour Manager I have been working with during all my 25 previous trips with Gate 1 from 2004 to 2022 1. He is highly knowledgeable about Jordan's economic, political, and social history, including confrontations, warfare, and battles before and after Christ. 2. He is an empathetic inspirational speaker able to maintain the travelers' attention. 3. He is always ready to go the extra mile in helping travelers experiencing physical limitations, encouraging them to go up a hill in a desert, and helping them if it were necessary. 4. I am an 81-year-old man. He helped me go to the Dead Sea, Petra, Wadi Rum Desert, Jerash, and Amman's museums, the Citadel, the amphitheaters with their echoes, and so on. 5. His human relations are outstanding. In my personal case, I had the impression that he was part of my family. 6. He made the activity so interesting that there was not a single moment of boredom. 7. I worked as a professor for 54 years in Cuba, Mexico, and the United States. I have taught more than 10,000 students. He was so good that I learned from him how to keep listeners interested in the topics he was talking about. 8. He also added knowledge about the Jordan government, emphasized important religious places, and created a place to remember in a holistic way. Consequently, he is the best tour manager I have ever met. Congratulations to Ali. In this recommendation I would also like to add Mr. Waj Di, the driver, who also did noteworthy work as an expert chauffeur, always keeping the travelers safe.

Everything about this trip was excellent and exceeded our expectations. Hazim is the best of the best tour guides. Despite a couple of travelers who stood out as individuals instead of part of a group, Hazim went above and beyond to accommodate. The depth of his knowledge, his sense of humor, and his constant availability made this trip so wonderful! One of the things that stood out was the way Hazim handled people at every level. He always gave respect and attention to everyone we encountered. We enjoyed having plenty of time at all locations and the pace of this trip. I would encourage anyone who is considering this trip to sign up now! Also, the food was amazing - I had no idea how healthy and delicious the meals would be, especially the Lebanese restaurant at the Kempinsky!

This was my 13th trip with Gate 1 travel, however this trip turned out to be the most informative and exceptional of all. Our guide, Waleed has so much knowledge of history that he was able to share with us and was eager to answer all questions. He kept the group engaged and involved at all levels. The restaurant and hotel selections were very good and his suggestions for restaurants and meals on our own were also superb. He also gave a briefing about Discovery Tours by Gate 1 and has aroused my interest in future plan for the discovery tour for stargazing in Wadi Rum. All and all it was great tour and I would highly recommend it to everyone interested in unique experience of floating in the Dead Sea, exploring the amazing Petra and orange sand of Wadi Rum.

We normally travel independently, planning our own itinerary, but in this case we were reluctant to travel to these two countries without experienced guides. I wasn't sure what to expect and honestly was a little nervous to go to that part of the world. But I was pleasantly mistaken! This trip to Jordan was wonderful and such an eye-opening experience. The country is beautiful, safe and full of history. Our tour guide was exceptional! He knew so much and was a lot of fun! I'm grateful that Gate 1 created this tour and did it completely in Jordan (instead of a combo with another country). It really gives the traveler time to fully enjoy and appreciate Jordan. Our trip was wonderful. Both tour guides (Adina in Israel and Faddy in Jordan) were great. Listening to Adina was enjoyable, she's a great story teller, full of knowledge. Faddy had a great sense of humor, lot's of knowledge. Both made our trip special. We've traveled with Gate 1 three times now and never had any problems. We would recommend Gate 1 to anyone.
