Please note that Ramadan is observed from April 2 until May 1 in the United Arab Emirates. From sunrise to sunset, eating and drinking in public areas are prohibited but are allowed in restaurants and hotels. At least one restaurant located inside of the hotels will remain open during Ramadan and food courts in shopping malls are open for tourists. During the evening (after sunset), restaurants are open for dinner. Eating and drinking are then allowed in public areas, alcohol is allowed to be served in the bars and restaurants. Background music may be played at bars however nightclubs with DJs and live bands are not allowed during Ramadan.
