We just returned from the 8 day London/Scotland tour and it was a fantastic! Elaine, our tour guide was exceptional and made the tour fun, exciting and we all learned so much. Elaine's knowledge of both England and Edinburgh made each of the tour spots come alive. The hotel accommodations were perfect and located in convenient locations to restaurants and shops. We were so sorry to see the tour come to end and we can't wait to go on our next trip with Gate1 Travel. Thank you for providing exceptional tours and tour guides like Elaine.

Our trip to Scotland was great. It's a beautiful country and Gate 1 did a great job of showing us the highlights. Our tour leader, David, was knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor, and our bus driver, Paul, did a wonderful job especially in some tricky places. If only you guys could control the weather, you'd be beyond perfect.

We loved it! We had Phil, an excellent tour guide in England and Scotland, and Ally also was an excellent tour guide in Ireland. We saw so much and enjoyed our learning and the beautiful countries!

It was Awesome! We had a great group of 33 people. Gerard was the best, safest, friendly and jolly driver we could have asked for. Lenny, our tour guide Is who really made this trip awesome. His history knowledge exceeded my expectations. His inclusion of every single person on the bus was top notch. I appreciated how he went above and beyond at every stop, The fact he was willing to walk around with us and showed us each city and the best pubs made it totally fun, even while being caught in a torrential rainstorm. As he stated, it was like being a little family, we truly were a family!!

It was the most amazing experience we've ever had although this was my 3rd trip to Europe but this time, with my husband. Thank you Gate 1 Travel for the wonderful accommodation. Adoram was our Tour Director from Paris to London and he did a wonderful job. Kudos to him! I even left my sunglasses in the tour bus , the driver's name is Ashian, while on tour to Stonehenge. My husband told Adoram and the next day I got it back. We found out Ashian came back just to dropped it off to Adoram in the hotel. Thank you so much to Ashian! We were 3 couples that went together on this trip as well.

Our trip was great. Of course, it was an unusual time in Edinburgh. My husband and I were there from Sunday night prior to the tour, meeting friends from England on that Monday, spending time with them, and then joining the Gate 1 tour. As it happened, we were fortunate to view the Queen's procession on the Royal Mile from a vantage point of one story up, at the window of an Indian restaurant, thanks to a young woman we met that morning. Two of my many pictures are attached, where you will see the coffin of Queen Elizabeth as well as her children, Andrew, Princess Anne and King Charles. It was quite an experience. As far as the Gate 1 tour went, we had the most amazing Tour Manager, Matthew. He was quite engaging, interesting, helpful, and truly one of the best we've had, and this was my 16th trip and my husband's 14th. I did Alpine Christmas markets with a girlfriend, and Spain with a granddaughter. Matthew arranged for us to view the Westminster Abbey service of the Queen's funeral and arranged for lunch. He had arranged for lunch in another spot as well, both as surprises for us, knowing it would have been very difficult for us to manage on our own. When several of our stops were closed due to circumstances, he juggled the schedule and kept us busy. A highlight was a visit to a sheep farm for a demonstration of the border collies at work. We especially enjoyed feeding the 4-month old hairy coo and kisses from a 4-week old puppy. Matthew is definitely an asset to Gate 1.

We had a wonderful trip, 16 day Scotland & Ireland! This was our 10th Gate 1 trip and our tour manager Patrick was the best tour guide. He is very knowlegeable, shared history & people with a great sense of humor. And he handed out all informations we needed at each destination. Also he shared music pertaining to where we were. Patrick showed up the last day to make sure everyone get the transportation to the airport safely. Our driver Gerard was exceptional, greeted each of us with a warm smile everyday and always at the door to assist whoever needed help. Looking forward to our next Gate 1 trip!

It was FANTASTIC!!!! The tour guide, Alasdair was EXCELLENT and the driver, Marchin was SUPERB!!! They were a PERFECT TEAM!!! Made everyone feel taken care of and safe.

I just wanted to take a minute an express my absolute delight with my trip and the Gate 1 travel experience! Definitely met and exceed all my expectations. This was my first trip abroad and will certainly not be my last. I also wanted to recognize our trip manager "Debbie" for her excellent management of the entire trip and all the little "extras" she added to take the experience to the next level. We had a great trip! Once again, Gate 1 provided an excellent experience. Christiana was truly an EXCEPTIONAL guide. No really, really exceptional. She was knowledgeable, providing the perfect details on both history and the people. Christina's attention to detail, insight, friendliness, and provision of wonderful side excursions solidified our belief that Gate 1 is the right company for us. She is one to keep on board! Our driver, Alan was very good. He gave us confidence that we were in good hands, kept the bus clean as a whistle, and had a good personality. I loved all the walking about. We got to see much more than we would have otherwise. Our free time was really good. Our tour guide, Patrick was knowledgeable & passionate about Scotland and Ireland. He was very quick to answer questions and convey much local history. Patrick is truly fantastic and was very caring for all guests. Also, the bus driver, Jim, was as good as they come. Would travel with him anywhere!! Great trip and would recommend to anyone.

Jamie K, tour manager, was the best tour guide during our whole 14 day trip. She constantly went above and beyond and I truly felt cared for. She'd bring little local snacks for us to try, read us a children's book to demonstrate Scots, sang Irish jingles to us and taught us so much about the local culture. I felt like she loved her job and could feel her passion for the local history. She even booked us a local guide in York, Sarah, that isn't normally included in the tour. Sarah brought that little city to life and was so bubbly. I wish all the best for Jaime and will think of her often! I know being on the road during touring season must get tiring but you'd never know it with Jaime. I felt so lucky to have her as our tour manager! Joe, our driver, kept the bus so clean and always had cold waters in hand for us. He never let us cross a street without him as our crossing guard and had a great rapport with Jaime. It was like we had a comedy team at the front of the bus! Also, his driving was spectacular and he got the bus our of some tight parking spots while making it look easy. Thank you, Gate 1, for booking these two and retaining them as employees. They brought the tour to life and they deserve all the recognition.

8 day England and Scotland was our fourth Gate1 trip and by far the best. Our hotels were centrally located letting access the sights during our down time. What made this trip so special was the brilliant leadership of Elaine. In the most charming way she tackled the daunting task of getting 28 people in a bus at the specified time. We never had to wait for anyone. Each day she shared her knowledge of her country and supplied a special British sweet treat. She squeezed in special stops at the Royal Crescent in Bath and the Cavern Club in Liverpool. I especially enjoyed learning about the life and philanthropic work of Beatrix Potter. Her interest in the success of the farmers of the Lake District preserved the beauty of the area till this day. Elaine also went beyond to be sure we had all the info we needed at each destination. I have traveled to many places on many trips independently and with other companies but there was something special about our six days with Elaine.

Was a wonderful trip. Very well thought out and executed. John and the driver Javid, were exceptional. I will consider other Gate 1 trips based on this one.

The Scotland trip met all my expectations and then some. Our guide John was wonderful and our driver Javid was professional and had exceptional driving skills!

Thank you so much for asking about our trip. As I said in a previous message, the trip was an excellent experience. Hotels, transportation, schedule of daily activities, food, and everything went really well considering that we are still suffering the consequences of the pandemic. Overall, we had a great pace fitting the needs of the participants and we learned a lot. Our driver and our tour director were excellent. This is the first time that I have seen a tour guide asking what we are most interested in doing/learning during our trip and actually taking notes to make sure his suggestions were on target. Mr. Lenny and Mr. Reid took good care of all of us. Also, it is only the second time in all my travels (with Gate 1 & other companies) that the tour director gets up early the last day to make sure the transportation to the airport arrives and the passengers depart safely. That shows a lot of passion about his work and great responsibility for the people that Gate 1 entrusted him with. I am looking forward to my next tour with Gate 1. Thank you for allowing us to see more of the world for less!

Our 8 day Paris/London tour was wonderful! Our tour manager Adoram was exceptional! Very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our trip memorable. This was our first trip with Gate1 and it won't be our last. Gate 1 has fantastic service.

Our tour guide, Patrick was wonderful. He was very knowledgeable about all the places we visited as well as about America. We never had any problem understanding him and he never had any trouble understanding my southern accent. His instructions about drop off and pick up points were so precise that he seldom had to repeat them. He had a great sense of humor and his commentary was amusing. I honestly think he is the best guide that I've had in the 30 years that I've been traveling.

Ireland is so scenic and green; yet another awesome trip which you planned for us!!! Our driver, Robbie , was the best coach driver we have ever experienced - exceptional safe driving and service; always looking out for all the guests - very knowledgeable and helpful. Scots and the Irish are very hospitable and friendly people. The flights which you carefully planned for us were comfortable.

We just finished our Gate 1 10 day England & Scotland trip. I wanted to let you know that our guide, Matthew was excellent. He has a great personality, was prepared for any issues, was punctual, made sure everyone know the schedule and was ready to answer questions or address any problem. I could go on and on but I'll just say he was a great guide and excellent representative of Gate 1. Our driver Alan was unbelievable. Don't know how he does it. Our local guides were all great. We were in London during the Queens Platinum Jubilee and we thought that it would be a mistake but Matthew, Alan and the local guide made it incredible. Their knowledge helped our group see once in a lifetime events. Thank you Gate1 and please give a big thank you to Matthew for us.

Our tour guide, Matthew was excellent. He unfailingly and without hesitation, consistently demonstrated his expertise at putting us first, our needs paramount, and in the process, vastly enhanced our tour experience. Matthew quickly became a friend to everyone on our tour, and he exhibited excellent teamwork and camaraderie with our driver, Alan. (Equal excellent marks for Alan as well!) Matthew always dotted his, "i"s and crossed his, "t"s. We were on the eight day England and Scotland classic tour. Our tour guide Elaine did an excellent job in every area of the tour. She was friendly efficient and humorous, never afraid to go the extra mile to help you or to find information. She made every day of the tour something to look forward to and to remember.

Fabulous!!! We had a wonderful time, saw beautiful sites, lots of history, enjoyed the company of our guides and travel friends, and had lots of fun in the process!! Our tour guides worked very hard to accommodate our every need, and put in a lot of extra effort to put in local flavor in each country, and were extremely knowledgeable and eagerly shared their knowledge, which made our trip that much more action packed, beneficial, and enjoyable!! I would just like to express the excellent job done by our tour manager, David. He made every person on the tour feel special, went out of his way to be helpful in every city by giving personal insight for food and sites to see, and managed to add some bonus sites that were not on the itinerary. Our recent trip to visit the United Kingdom was truly a wonderful venture. Our accommodations were very nice and the places we visited were truly magical. We especially enjoyed the accommodations while visiting Bath. Our tour guide, Kim, was amazing. She was always on the job, even when it was well past time for her to be off the clock. She kept us together and entertained the entire trip. Overall our trip was one will look back on fondly for years to come. We look forward to another gate1 tour in our near future.

It was wonderful! Our tour guide Elaine was exceptional. I've been on about 15 Gate 1 tours and been pleased with all but one tour guide but Elaine stands in a class of her own. I had an amazing time on your tour of England and Scotland and high praise for all the Gate1 representatives that we encountered. The Tour Guide, David , was so helpful, organized, conscientious, and truly nice to everyone in the group. Our driver, David, and all the local guides - Victoria in London, Paul in Liverpool, and Marina in Edinburgh were friendly and knowledgeable and I can't recommend them enough. The coach stopped enough for us to enjoy local sites and the tea and homemade scones in a Beatrix Potter cottage were a delight. I've always had a good experience with Gate1 and this was the best yet.

Our tour was perfect from beginning to end. Our tour guide manager Lenny was professional and personable and has a deep understanding of the history of the area which made the experience come alive. He was extremely very good and very flexible. Lenny was outstanding person to spend 14 days with his knowledge of Ireland and Scotland. Gate 1's tour guide on the 16 Day Scotland and Ireland was a tribute to your superior offerings; David may be one of your Gate 1's most valuable assets, and he is most definitely one of your best tour guides. Yes, Gate 1's offerings were superior: the stops in both Scotland and Ireland were perfect; the bus was immaculate; and the hotels and their locations were excellent. But, it was David's extraordinary abilities and talents that made the trip truly exceptional. He possessed all the qualities that I have come to expect from Gate 1 tour guides: knowledgeable of the history of the countries and sites visited as well as knowledgeable about local offerings; organized; personable, interesting, and approachable. What sets David heads above the rest is his attention to detail (writing our names on both sides of the name tags so that the name could always be seen); arranging extras along the tour to accommodate requests; giving so freely of his time to ensure that travelers had a good time during independent time; solving problems that clearly were not in his domain, such as clearing dinner dishes and serving coffee and desert when the hotel staff could not due so because of a shortage of workers; etc. What was phenomenal was David's passion for his work: he did not rest until each and every traveler felt that David was his own tour guide and he made sure each traveler was made to feel special, genuinely liked, and cared for come what might. And as if all that was not enough, he was so entertaining and witty that he must surely hone these skills by endlessly practicing. David was "Simply the Best," and therefore Gate 1's Scotland and Ireland trip was as well. Kudos to David for a job well done, and Kudos to Gate 1.

Thank you Gate one for organizing an amazing trip. The trip was exceptionally wonderful. I had a blast visiting amazing places and meeting fellow travelers. David took great care of us. He has so many great qualities that makes him a superb tour manager. He was knowledgeable, organized, and easy to communicate with. He shared many stories and songs. I was also in awe of Michael's driving skills. He maneuvered that huge bus in narrow places. I will always be a Gate one traveler, because I don't think any company can beat what this company delivers. I should also mention Jim, our guide in Belfast. He was so passionate about sharing the history of his country with us. It truly opened my eyes to the struggle the people of Ireland faces. It's the love of history that makes me appreciate traveling.

Our 16 day Scotland/Ireland tour was over the top wonderful. Our tour manager, Patrick, is the perfect guy for this job. He took total care of us from the minute we arrived at the hotel in Edinburgh until the morning we left Dublin for the airport. I cant say enough wonderful things about him. He shared so many stories that made the history of the beautiful cities come alive. He was an expert on the ancient history as well as current events in both countries. Since my ancestors come from both Scotland and Ireland, every single part of the tour was exceptionally relevant for me. He also shared music from both countries which made the long bus intervals fly by. He was knowledgeable about so many different aspects of the culture. the peoples and why this happened and why that happened. I only wish my former history teachers could have done as good a job as Patrick. Also our driver, Bryan, was also over the top wonderful. How he maneuvered that huge bus down those narrow lanes and around the mountain curves was amazing! and the hotels were also over the top wonderful. Overall our favorite tour so far and we plan to travel many more times with Gate 1 Travel.

Our trip was great. The places visited were well thought out, the guided tours were great. The guides - especially Shila in Edinburgh - were great, as was our tour manager, Adam. Good overview and introduction of the places visited with a great sense of humor. Our driver, Allen was excellent, not only a good driver, but very enthusiastic towards the passengers. Michelle and I, along with our friend, Roel, had a great two week Scotland and Ireland trip, our fifth tour with Gate 1! We cannot say enough good things about the Tour Manager, Paul, who is not only a great Tour Manager, but is also one heck of a stand up comedian. For all of those long drives between sites and cities, he regaled us with humorous, poignant and instructive stories and dialogue! His supporting cast of drivers, esp. Robbie, and local guides were equally excellent. Other than a heavy rain in Glasgow and on the Ring of Kerry, we had pretty good weather, so we were good with it all. And now for some Scottish talk: "Arrghh, lads n lassies, we better start planning our next wee trip, eh? Aye!"

The trip was everything I hoped it would be and then 50% more than that. Christina was our tour guide. We loved all the information she gave us not only of the history of what we were seeing, but also of how the United Kingdom people of today live. My hands down favorite thing was when we had tea, scones. clotted cream and homemade jelly at the Beatix Potter farm. Looking at a place from the outside is one thing, being invited in is soo much more. Again, Christina made this trip extraordinary and so much fun. Also our bus driver, Dave, was a magician with the bus. He got us into and out of places that were so tight. He was always watching out for our safety as was Christina. That was our first trip with Gate 1, it will not be the last.

My trip, to London, Scotland & Ireland, was very educational and one of the most fascinating yet. A lot was packed into this trip ,however, the sites we visited such as the walled city in Derry, the historic Titantic in Belfast, and Shakespeare's home, as well as the York Minister provided me with great memories. Of importance also were the people on this tour--our tour director, Paul, the bus driver Dan and the thirty-one other passengers each contributed to a wonderful experience. Lillie and I had loads of fun and look forward to our next adventure with Gate 1.

Our trip was excellent. Ian, our guide, was excellent and Kevin, our driver, could not be beat as far as safety and courtesy. Whenever we were disembarking the coach one of them was always at the door to assist whoever needed help. If there was a question they did not know the answer to they found it out quickly and got the answer to you. They work very well as a team. This was our first guided tour. The itinerary made sure we saw a lot and learned a lot.

Oh my goodness, where do I begin! This trip was absolutely wonderful. I don’t think there are enough adjectives in the world to describe just how amazing it was. The sights we saw were fabulous. We were so very well taken care of which leads me to our tour guide, Christina! Christina was fabulous. She went above and beyond to make sure all of us were well taken care of. She was a wealth of knowledge, I learned so much from her. She has such a wonderful personality. She was always smiling, happy, upbeat, energetic. An absolutely amazing person. I hope to have her as a future tour guide when I book another trip with Gate 1 because this experience was so amazing I can guarantee you I will be booking with you in the future. I cannot end without giving a huge kudos to Dave our bus driver. Oh my gosh that man is an amazing skilled driver! Those roads were tight and I never once was afraid because Dave knew what he was doing. The other people on our tour were fabulous too. We all had so much fun and in talking with some of them who have traveled a lot they said this was one of the best and how Christina was one of the most amazing guides they have had. The sites were gorgeous the hotels were amazing, everything was perfect. Thanks Gate 1 for an amazing trip. My daughter and I made wonderful memories and met some amazing people who I know we will always keep in touch with. I look forward to scheduling a future trip with your company!

Our trip was simply - wonderful! England is a beautiful and diverse country. The excitement and wonder of London with its history and majesty, the diversity of its people and the wonder of its new and modern growth was truly a thrill to explore. But the countryside was the highlight of the trip. Beautiful rolling hills with amazing historical farmhouses and cottages in pastoral scenes with sheep and cattle made you feel as if you were in an 19th century English novel. It was just delightful to travel through this amazing country.

It was absolutely wonderful start to finish. It was great because of David particularly. He was so knowledgeable about everything from the history and stories about areas. He told jokes to make us laugh and played music pertaining to where we were. Our driver Daniel was great too. He always had a hello and greeted us with a smile. The choice of hotels was excellent .... They stopped every two hours so we could stretch out legs mostly at an attraction which broke the monotony of the bus. Will definitely use Gate 1 if we ever do another trip like that.

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip and plan to use Gate 1 again in the future. We were particularly impressed with our tour group manager, Patrick. He went out of his way to include small events that highlighted the culture of both Scotland and Ireland. He made sure that we were comfortable and having fun. His commentary was informative with just the right combination of humor to keep us interested. We were likewise impressed by our driver Brian who was calm in some very tight spots. We really loved our vacation. Our tour guide Elaine made it wonderful. She was courteous and very eager to share information about history and culture of sights visited. She was keen to ensure we all experience local food and culture. She also arranged visit to farmhouse of personal friend for tea and scones. That experience was memorable.
