This morning, travel to the religious site of Bethany to explore first-hand the foundations of Christianity. The site of John the Baptist's settlement at Bethany where Jesus was baptized has long been known from the Bible and from Byzantine and medieval texts. The site has now been identified on the east bank of the Jordan River in Jordan, only 15 minutes by car from the Dead Sea Hotel. The Bethany area site formed part of the early Christian pilgrimage route between Jerusalem, the Jordan River, and Mount Nebo. This area is also associated with the biblical account of how the Prophet Elijah (Mar Elias in Arabic) ascended to heaven in a whirlwind on a chariot of fire. This is not to be confused with the village of Bethany near Jerusalem, where the Bible says Lazarus was raised from the dead. After the tour transfer back to your hotel.

The ruins are one of the largest and best-preserved sites of Roman architecture in the world outside Italy. Here, see what remains of the city which was conquered by General Pompey in 63 B.C. and became part of the Decapolis League, considered to be the ten greatest cities in the Roman Empire. Wander through the colonnaded streets, temples, baths, theaters, plazas, all encompassed within the remaining city walls.

| It is each traveler's responsibility to have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel and a visa if required. Please check the information at www.gate1travel.com/visas.aspx for the specific country/region you are visiting for more details. IMPORTANT: Passengers who are not U.S. citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa. Passport applications are available at most U.S. Post Offices, as well as at regional Passport Agencies. Passengers requiring visas, whether obtained in advance or locally upon arrival, should ensure that their passport has blank pages.

| If you are traveling with friends or family who are booked on another reservation, please make sure that we are aware. On occasion, we may operate more than one vehicle on your tour departure in which case we will ensure that guests will be assigned together. This is achieved by connecting your reservations before your departure. Once you arrive in your destination, it may not be possible to make assignment changes. | Trip Preparation |
| A little pre-planning can make your trip go a lot smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas, driver's license) are in order. Make sure also that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip and carry them with you in case your luggage is delayed. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in the event that your luggage is delayed or lost. Lost luggage is common. We strongly urge you to consider carry-ons instead of checked bags when possible, and when checking a bag is necessary, choose a bag color and identification that stands out. We suggest that you make photocopies of passports, visas, personal ID and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. You may also make a digital copy of your passport to keep a clear picture with the important details in your cell phone or digital camera photos. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. You may consider bringing a small supply of over the counter medications for headaches and/or anti-diarrhea pills (especially when traveling outside of the USA and Western Europe). We recommend that you pack a portable alarm clock. Due to security reasons, many museums have restrictions on the size of bags that can be taken inside and backpacks, carry-on bags or large purses may not be permitted. It is recommended to bring a small shoulder bag or purse to use in these situations instead. Avoid placing valuables such as cameras in your checked luggage. Airplane pressure can cause similar pressure in your body, most notably in ears, as well as liquid tubes and bottles. Your physician can suggest medication for decongestion. We suggest that you place liquid containers into Ziploc bags to catch any leaks. |
| Travel Safety Advice: The safety of our guests is Gate 1’s #1 concern. Before making the decision to reserve your vacation, we want you to be aware of potential situations which may impact your holiday. | Staying Healthy While Traveling |
| Please consult with your healthcare provider for up-to-date requirements. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) and/or the World Health Organization (http://www.who.int/en/) for their recommendations. Any required inoculations must be documented by clients' healthcare provider on a valid vaccination certificate, which must be carried as proof where necessary. Individuals with heart disease, chronic illness, physical handicap, advanced pregnancy, or mental illness should not participate in these rigorous travel programs. While traveling, illnesses can sometimes be unavoidable. If a traveler arrives feeling ill or becomes sick during the tour, they will be separated from the group and directed to either a local or virtual medical facility for diagnosis. This precaution is necessary to ensure the well-being of all travelers. The traveler may only rejoin the group after receiving written clearance from an accredited medical facility confirming they are fit to continue. All costs associated with medical treatment and related expenses such as additional hotel nights or transportation not included in the original itinerary will be the responsibility of the passenger. Travel protection plans will only consider coverage with service receipts provided by legally qualified health care facilities, and in accordance with policy terms. | Seat Assignments |
| As a courtesy service, complimentary airline seat assignments are requested on your behalf and, when available, are displayed in order of Passenger #1, #2 and so on. Assignments reflect the best available seats at the time of booking. Some airlines and/or fare types do not allow for pre-seating and require this be done at airport check-in only; in which case the display shows “N/A”. Seats are subject to change by your airline(s) including, for example, when there is a schedule change or equipment change after your initial booking; this may cause seat assignments to be changed or even cancelled. Some airlines offer preferred seating for an additional fee; these seats may only be purchased directly from the airline. You will need your family name and the 6-digit airline “Record Locator” which is displayed with the flight details on your reservation. In the event that you change seat assignments directly with your airline, changes will not be reflected on your invoice or documents. At the time that Gate 1 travel documents are issued, the currently assigned seats will be listed based on the assignments stored in your airline reservation at that time. | Luggage & Packing |
| Checked bags are typically limited to a total dimension of 62 inches by adding length + width + height (example: 26"+26"+10" = 62"), and a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23kg). Smart Bags with a USB charging port, GPS tracking device and other high-tech features are prohibited as checked or carry-on baggage unless the bag is made with removable batteries and the batteries are removed and stored separately. Many airlines charge for checked bags including flights which begin and end within the USA. The most inexpensive airfare options commonly known as Basic Economy airfares do not include any checked bags nor seat assignments before the day of departure. However, for some airlines, other airfare categories also do not include checked baggage. This will be clearly displayed in our airfare selection and on your invoice. Where available, we highly recommend selecting airfares which include at least 1 piece of checked baggage. Gate 1 Travel is not responsible for checked bag fees, excess luggage or weight charges levied by an airline. Checked baggage allowances displayed on reservation details and invoices reflect the applicable allowance at the time of booking but are subject to change by your airline(s). Avoid placing valuables in your checked luggage. Federal law forbids the carriage of hazardous materials aboard the aircraft in your luggage, your carry-on or on your person. Hazardous materials include explosives, compressed gases, flammable liquids and solids, oxidizers, poisons, corrosives and radioactive materials. | What to do if You Need Assistance |
Whether you purchased your airfare from Gate 1 Travel or from the airline directly, please bear in mind that Gate 1 Travel does not own nor operate the airline(s), nor the airport facilities where they operate. At times, flying can be a frustrating experience, especially when things do not go exactly as planned, and airline explanations can be confusing or even misleading. Should you face a problem, remain calm and seek assistance either from the airline directly or from Gate 1. Please be aware that in most cases, on the day of your flight(s), airlines pass responsibility for your reservation to their staff at the airport and it is not always possible for Gate 1 Travel to intervene on your behalf, either through our reservations system or directly with your airline. |

| Arrival Procedures |
| Upon arrival, please complete immigration formalities if necessary and claim your luggage. If your program includes airport arrival transfers, check your voucher for specific instructions, as they vary with every destination. In most cases, you will be met after collecting your luggage or passing through Customs by the local representative who will be holding a Gate 1 Travel sign and/or a sign with your name on it. In some instances you will be instructed to walk a short distance to a transportation counter. The company's name and location will be printed on your voucher. If for any reason you do not connect with the Gate 1 transfer personnel, go to the Tourist Information Desk and ask them to page the Gate 1 Travel representative or phone the number on your voucher. If you are delayed due to lost luggage, phone the number on the voucher or have a companion exit the Customs Area to advise the transfer representative. Be wary of airport scammers who offer unwanted assistance. If you are arriving without a pre-arranged transfer, we strongly recommend going to the Tourist Information Desk to ask for a licensed taxi or transfer service. You may be asked to pay for the transfer at the desk prior to the trip, this will ensure you are not charged extra during the trip. |
| What To Do When Your Flight Is Delayed |
| Airlines do not share flight manifest information. Therefore, the only way we may learn of a delay or schedule change while you are traveling is from you, the traveler. The sooner you are able to contact one of our offices, the better we can respond. Please refer to the Emergency Assistance instructions on this same document. Gate 1 Travel is only able to guarantee pre-reserved arrival transfers for up to one hour from the scheduled time, no matter the cause. In case you are delayed for any reason, and are unable to follow the instructions on your voucher, please make independent transfer arrangements and retain your receipts. Unused tour services, including transfers and hotel nights are not refundable. Upon you return home you will need to contact your airline and/or insurance carrier to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for any unused tour services. |

| Transfers |
| Due to local traffic and other extenuating circumstances, we ask that you allow 30 minutes from your scheduled transfer time for our representative to arrive. This includes hotel, airport and cruise transfers. Such possible delays are taken into consideration in scheduling transfers and you should therefore have no concerns about arriving late for your tour, flight or cruise. For transfers from a hotel, let the hotel reception desk or concierge know that you are waiting for a transfer. In the case of a missed transfer, reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses will be considered provided you obtain a written statement from the hotel's front desk verifying the length of time you waited, and the time you left the hotel, and a receipt for your transportation with time and date. The cost of a transfer is more expensive than hiring a taxi, as a Gate 1 transfer necessarily includes round trip service, or 'dead-leg'. Often the places of call (airports, seaports, hotels) demand entrance and parking fees, where drivers may have to wait for up to an hour. Passengers comfortable hiring a taxi on their own and do not require assistance will save money. |

| Gate 1 Travel has carefully selected each hotel based on overall quality, location, price, service, and cleanliness. All rooms are standard twin-bedded (two single beds) rooms with private facilities. Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a run-of-house basis. Triple rooms consist of standard twin beds or one double bed plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person except in the U.S. and Canada, where triple rooms often consist of two double/queen beds for three persons; where available, a fee may be charged by the hotel for the addition of a cot/rollaway. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. While air conditioning is available in most hotels, we recommend checking the room amenities listed under the "Featured Hotels" tab of your package to confirm. Please note that many international hotels were built before central air conditioning was introduced. In those that do offer air conditioning, usage may be restricted, often due to government regulations aimed at promoting energy conservation. It's typical for air conditioning to be used only during the summer months, to follow a set schedule (sometimes turned off at night), and to operate at lower settings than what many Americans are accustomed to. Some lodges and accommodations in remote regions may not have all of the amenities, such as hairdryer, alarm clock and room service, that you might find in a larger hotel located in a city center. |

| About Your Sightseeing |
| To ensure a pleasant and fair experience for passengers on our escorted tours, there is a mandatory seat rotation policy on our motor coaches which will be organized by your Tour Manager. On river cruises, color-coded group splits may be used for shoreside included and Optional tours. Some buses are equipped with toilet facility, however they are strictly intended for emergency use only and often require the vehicle to stop for safety reasons before use. When travel dates coincide with religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, sometimes without prior notice. On these occasions, escorted touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, and/or due to other unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions, there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, which may affect the sequence of the tour and locations visited. National monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovations, which can obscure the monument's view. No tour will be canceled due to renovations, however Gate 1 will decide based on the conditions whether to amend an itinerary. To respect the privacy of all tour participants, your tour manager will not organize a group photo or collect passenger email addresses for a group list. |

We have built into our Escorted itineraries a few shopping stops at recommended spots. These stops are designed to enhance your experience by providing an opportunity to see first-hand quality locally crafted merchandise which you may not be able to find on your own. Shops are checked to ensure the quality and authenticity of the products they offer, and we limit guides from visiting other locations. In some cases, we plan these stops to provide an opportunity to use clean bathrooms and to stretch your legs. All shops want your satisfaction, and therefore in case of any misunderstanding they ask that you kindly submit your claim to us within one week of the item's receipt. Claims submitted later will be subject to each store's policies. While shopping independently, we advise you to exercise care and common sense when making any purchase. Always get a formal receipt. I have a most wonderful trip! Not only that I checked off Petra and Dead Sea from my bucket list, I learned so much about the history, culture and archeology of Jordan!! He was watching the weather that week for us and took the initiative to contact Gate 1 home office to rearrange our day at Petra. This was the very best Gate 1 trip that I have ever taken! From the moment I stepped off the plane until I too soon had to embark once more, our EXCEPTIONAL tour manager Omar did everything perfectly in the way of efficiency, hospitality, information, and fun! The representatives that met me and took over the handling of my visa were flawless and friendly. My transit driver both to and from the hotels was exceptionally friendly, giving me a mini tour en route and conversing with me about life in Jordan. I really enjoyed speaking one-on-one with a native rather than just riding in silence. We hugged when I left! The accommodations were outstanding, with fabulous decor and amazing views. Omar made sure every step of the way that we were not just comfortable but really pampered. The hotel managers and their staff were more than welcoming and personable, rather than merely remote functionaries. The included breakfasts were uniformly abundant and beautifully presented and hosted. This trip was unusually varied in activities while at the same time offering opportunities to sleep in and to enjoy resort amenities. We slept in on a few mornings, and we had time to really enjoy the unique offerings at both the Red Sea (a beach barbeque) and the Dead Sea (floating!). We also had time to enjoy spas and swimming pools at our beautiful hotels. And the activities! Driving through both city and countryside; exploring ruins; walking through the stunning immensity and glory of Petra and hiking to her highest outlooks; riding camels and jeeps through the magical Wadi Rum and spending the night there in cozy tents and domes; visiting adorable, outgoing children at a village school; strolling the path to Bethany Beyond the Jordan; taking a sunset dinner cruise on which we could catch glimpses of the surrounding countries of Israel, Egypt, Saudi Arabia; enjoying a home-cooked meal in a Jordanian home; making our own colored sand art and having our hands hennaed...we did so many different things and learned so much! And the key to all of this was always Omar. Best guide, best tour, I've ever had!!!!!

I just want to let you know how awesome our tour guide, Hussein, was. He far exceeded our expectations and our prior experiences with tour guides (even good ones) from earlier travels. He is professional, knowledgeable, warm, funny, diplomatic, generous, flexible, kind .... I can find nothing negative to say about him, he was outstanding by every measure. I do recognize that we had an extremely unusual tour group of only 4 people, and that Jordan was much less crowded than usual due to the unrest in the region. I know Jordan is suffering from this, and hope things get better very soon. That said, this misery was our gain, as we had an experience very close to a private tour as a result. Our driver, Abdullah, was also a complete sweetie. I completed your online survey, but it doesn't allow for free text and I really wanted to say more. I will certainly consider touring with Gate 1 again - that said, I am afraid that this tour will be a very hard act to follow.

My trip to Jordan was awesome! This was one of the best Gate1 tours I have been on. Kudos to Gate1 for not canceling the trip as there were only 5 of us on this particular trip. The itinerary was packed with interesting historical sights, visits to Petra, the beautiful sights of Wadi Rum , Aqaba and the Dead Sea, engaging cultural activities- making sand art, henna demos, cooking lesson and visit to a home for a home cooked meal. The sunset wine setup in Wadi Rum was really a very nice add on as was the yacht cruise with dinner. Over all a truly satisfying, thrilling and entertaining experience. Choice of hotels was superb - with The Kempinski in Dead Sea being the the icing on the cake! Our guide, Mohammed was courteous, friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable. We learned a lot about Jordan, it's people and culture from him. The driver, Abdallah was again very courteous, friendly and helpful in addition to being a excellent driver. Overall an excellent trip and experience something I would highly recommend to all my friends.

This was the first trip with Gate 1 for my wife and I after having the company recommended by friends who have completed several tours. The people of Jordan could not have been more welcoming. Starting from the moment we arrived at the airport until the minute we passed through passport control on our way home we were guided with attention and care. We did not know what to expect when travelling during Ramadan as we wanted to be respectful of the religious practice. Without exception everywhere we went people were gracious and made us feel comfortable during mealtimes. Our tour group was small, and our guide made the trip special with his knowledge of history as well as introducing us to some of the tastes of Jordan. I have traveled extensively with Gate1 and have always been extremely pleased. This trip was no exception! I was met upon arrival and was escorted to get my visa which went quickly. I was taken to the car and driver that would take me to the Marriott Amman. Check in was also quick & easy and the Marriott was absolutely fantastic. I met our guide, Ali and other tour members the next day as I arrived a day earlier. The tour was wonderful and we saw everything promised and more. Ali was very thorough in his explanations of what we were seeing in this beautiful and amazing country. He also had suggestions for our free time and as we were only 6 people on this tour we became quick friends! I couldn't have asked for a better or more inclusive experience. My recent visit to Jordan was more than perfect. Jordan was peaceful and safe despite the war next door in Israel with Hamas. Omar, our tour manager, is a gem. With his background in biblical studies and archeology, our group of five participants received extensive information about the sites we visited, the culture, and the history of Jordan. Omar was kind, joyful, and attentive to our needs. You could not have a better representative for Gate 1. The three Marriott hotels were comfortable, well situated to the sites visited, the staff kind and hospitable, and the food served absolutely delicious, varied, and plentiful. Our driver, Fatieh, was also kind and hospitable, and a wonderful driver. I do not believe there will ever be such a perfect trip as this was for our group of five. I can't wait for my next trip with Gate 1. I have told a number of my friends about Gate 1.

The tour bus driver Khalid is an outstanding driver. It took great skill to navigate the narrow streets in the city and town. Khalid is a very safe driver. We sincerely appreciate his driving skill. Overall, this discovery tour to Jordan is a top notch tour. Despite the uncertainty caused by the Israel Gaza situation, we were glad we went forward with the tour. The Jordan walking tour was AMAZING!! Our guides were fabulous, they helped immerse us into the culture and show us so much of Jordan! Everyone was incredibly flexible and worked with the group's wants, needs, and abilities. Several things changed during the visit but everyone was flexible and I did not feel like we missed out on anything. I have a food allergy and everyone was very accommodating of my needs at every stop. Abrahim, our one guide, modified plans based on weather, group needs, and contacted the main office as needed based on group feedback. Thankfully we were able to do the back hike to get into Petra which was AMAZING! We were able to see just about the entire place and avoided the crowds due to the trek that we took which worked out fabulously! The only complaint was that I wish we had more time at the Dead Sea. We had enough time to go in for a bit, thankfully. We were at the resort for maybe 5 hours before it was time to leave for the airport. Overall amazing trip!

The trip was quite exhausting, but it was well worth the visit. Our tour manager in Israel Mika and Omar in Jordan were both nice, pleasant and most importantly knowledgeable about the history and culture of their respective countries. Lahdo, the local tour guide in Bethlehem is equally nice, pleasant and knowledgeable as well. Haled in Israel and Sammy in Jordan were both very cautious and careful drivers. Muhannad Tomlieh, Gate1 airport representative helped us all the way for a smooth check in until he can't come with us pass the way going to the boarding gate. My husband and I are very impressed with Gate1 travel just like the other two previous trips we've taken.

This trip was excellent, with active and compressed itinerary, and very well planned. The last minute airline schedule change, 2 weeks before our departure, was a shock with 4 am arrival at Cairo and 4 am departure returning home. Upon arrival, Gate 1 arranged a day room for 6 hours at an airport hotel before we checked in at our scheduled regular hotel. For our return flight we were arranged to spend our long layover at the VIP lounge at the airport. The way Gate 1 handles arrivals, departures, hotel/boat check-in/out procedures and the transfer of luggage is a stress reliever. The success of the Egypt trip in large part can be credited to our tour manager, Rasha. She is extremely knowledgeable of ancient Egyptian history and current day Egyptian culture. From day one, her friendliness and hospitality made all of us feel so welcome to be in her country. She has terrific people skills, caring and yet consistent in her expectations of the group. She did everything to ensure our safety and warned us about uneven surfaces and constantly reminded us to be careful every step of the way. She also knows invaluable insider tips about where to shop, where to eat, and what to do. This was a very active trip with early wake up calls and lots of walking. The early arrivals to the sites certainly had the benefit of smaller crowds and better visitation experience. Jordan, the second part of our trip, was also excellent. Our tour manager, Hazim, is very experienced and has a great sense of humor. He knows the sites very well, seamlessly planned and timed our visits smoothly. He was very entertaining, very knowledgeable and thoroughly explained each site we visited and left no question unanswered. I saw many sites and things, travelled many miles and ate more food than I ever thought during these 17 days but never felt rushed. What makes a tour "best vacation ever" is the tour manager. I was fortunate to have the best two tour managers this time. Thanks to Gate 1 for this wonderful experience which enriched my life. This is one trip I could not accomplish if I was doing on my own.

Great, we were pleasantly surprised at how things went smoothly. Our tour guides were excellent, Izack, in particular. Although we were expecting the holiness of the place, we were blasted by the extra activities that our guide prepared for us, like the show of King David after the Armenian dinner, the lunch at the market place and of course the float in the Dead Sea. Petra was spectacular!

Our 2nd trip to Egypt with Gate1, but with the addition of Jordan this time. What an amazing trip! Our tour manager in Egypt, Tarek, was absolutely and simply the best tour manager we've EVER had on all our trips. Friendly, funny, incredibly knowledgeable, really cared for our little "family" of 31 and kept us on track and safe, and he imparted SO much knowledge that added greatly to our tour. Thank you soooooooo much, Tarek! Our tour manager in Jordan, Mohammed, was also very good and friendly, knowledgeable, helpful and (as we all warmed up to each other) funny! Both men are incredible assets to Gate1, and anyone who tours with them will have a great time. If you're considering any of the Egypt/Jordan Gate1 tours but are holding off because you're concerned about safety, we always felt safe. Security rode and walked with us every day in Egypt and was unobtrusive but always there keeping an eye on everything. The Egyptian people are friendly and happy to see you. Same with the Jordanian people. Vendors can be a little pushy but a polite "no thank you" (or two), or better yet, a polite "la shokran" (or two) and they'll leave you alone. Be warned, though, this is a VERY active trip. Early wake up calls, lots (and LOTS) of walking, on the go. As Tarek said, "you can sleep when you're home!" This was simply an absolutely amazing trip with wonderful staff in 2 incredible countries. Thank you, Gate1!

This was our first travel with Gate 1 and my husband and I were very happy with our trip. Our reservation was quick, it was easy to speak with Mario when one of our itinerary was cancelled by Turkish Airline and he was so responsive and courteous. The communication from Gate 1 pre-travel was great. Our tour expert in Israel, Ilan was tremendous. He was knowledgeable, fun and very professional. He was very approachable and loved by our tour group. We found a friend in him! Our tour guide in Jordan, Omar was also knowledgeable, fun and professional. He had his own method of organizing the group. He was approachable and had the interest of his traveler as well. Both tour guides were excellent. We recommend them highly. They really take interest in their travelers . They live what they do. They have the personal touch. Gate 1 is lucky to have Ilan and Omar. The drivers, Reuben and Mazen were amazing , approachable, friendly, caring and were very skilled drivers. We have confidence in their safe driving. The hotel accommodations were great. Wish we could stay longer in each destination. The actual tour schedule was hectic but worth it. We certainly could have lessened the optional tours but we would have never known what we have missed out on. The selections were great from the many sites to visit. The Gate 1 representatives were very helpful. We were assisted at the Amman airport until we were all checked in. This is traveling with confidence that there is someone there when we need help. Truly, truly, satisfied with Gate 1 services from day 1. The only negative is that we traveled from Seattle to JFK , to Istanbul then Tel Aviv. On our return, Amman to Istanbul then finally Seattle. Why the need to go to JFK? Thank you Gate 1. Looking forward to our second travel experience with you.

My Jordan trip was very memorable! Our trip Omar was one of the best tour guides I have encountered since I have been using Gate 1 for my travels since 2013. He was efficient, very knowledgeable and went out of his way to make our trip enjoyable and memorable. For instance he was taking our pictures with our own camera as we handed it to him during the camel caravan. He was running through the desert to take our pictures. His plans were well executed and he communicated very effectively. He was sensitive to each member's needs. I truly enjoyed our Jordan trip. By the way our driver made sure we were all safe with our tour. Kudos to him as well. Thank you Gate1!

Our Discovery trip to Jordan was fabulous, exceeding all expectations. We have never had a bad guide with Gate 1, but I have to say we had the best guide ever, Hazim, on this trip. He was absolutely superlative in communication, group management, and creating an atmosphere of trust, excitement, and learning among a cohesive group of travelers. Of course, the sites we visited were incredible and memorable. Each day was paced in a way that worked for everyone and accomplished a lot. The culinary highlight was a home-cooked meal at his mother's house. Yum!

My husband, Rick and I had a wonderful time on our Jordan Discovery Tour. Our outstanding guide, Hazim, was the best travel guide we have had anywhere in the world! He was knowledgeable, interesting, kind and thoughtful, and gave attention to everyone on our tour. Hazim wanted us to immerse ourselves in the culture, history, and archaeological beauty of Jordan. When I first met Hazim, I told him that this tour was a Biblical Pilgrimage for me, and he discussed the spiritual importance of many of the sites with me, and our group in great detail throughout our tour. A special visit: meeting his family, son, and mom during a delicious lunch, and aunt and uncle during tea. And we met many relatives on our tour throughout the country. All of the sites: Biblical Baptismal site of Jesus at Bethany, Mt. Nebo, Madaba, Jerash, Petra, Little Petra, Wadi Rum, Amman, the Red and Dead Sea were captivating, beautiful and amazing. We enjoyed the spectacular 5+ hotels, breakfast buffets, and various meals, teas, and coffee. We love Gate 1 tours, highly recommend them to friends, and look forward to booking another tour soon.

Although I have had a number of amazing guides, I can say that Waleed is absolutely the best that I have ever encountered. Gate 1 needs to give this guy a raise or promotion or something super special because Waleed is without a doubt representing Gate 1 in stellar fashion. The Jordan itinerary is already worth whatever it takes to get there, 100%- such an amazing country! But with Waleed as tour director, travelers can expect to have a truly top-notch experience. Waleed ensures the added value where it is possible to achieve more than an enjoyable vacation in an interesting location; seriously, after being on tour with Waleed I felt I had touched the authentic heart of Jordan. I have so much respect for the people of Jordan as a whole. Their bravery in the face of economic hardship and personal tragedy both breaks my heart and fills me with so much admiration; yes, and gratefulness for the hope they give me for a better world. Jordanians are some of the kindest, most open-hearted, jolly, goofy, people I have ever met. I see grief in their eyes, but they treat each other and foreigners with gentleness and respect. Go to Jordan! You will love it! You will be blown away by the people's incredible level of hospitality. And if you're especially lucky, you will have Waleed as your Gate 1 representative. I'd also like to say that I had some shocking and major disappointments with the US-side of Gate 1 and hope anyone reading this never receives the inexplicably reluctant and rude "help" from Gate1's customer service (please consider not booking your flights through Gate1). The Jordanian side of the whole Gate 1 operation was unceasingly impressive and wonderful. I especially appreciate the driver Muhammed who provided airport transport as well as Mohanned and Abu Ali, Gate1 airport representatives. The country of Jordan is now forever in my heart.

Although I never received a request from you for a personal review for a recent trip ( 16 Day Deluxe Israel and Jordan), I feel compelled to write regarding the superb guides and bus drivers in both countries as well as the outstanding Gate 1 service and planning, beginning with pick up at the Tel Aviv airport and ending with Gate 1 support at the Amman airport. The hotels were superb, the meals delicious, and the travel arrangements between hotels, between tourist sites and between countries, were seamless. Kudos to the Gate 1 planning team, from initial reservation in 2019 and due to Covid, rescheduled twice! In Israel, Gabriella (Gabi) , our tour manager and guide, was a font of information regarding history- both historical/archaeological and the history of the state of Israel. She is extremely knowledgeable regarding the culture, religion and food ways of her country. Gabi is a master planner and facilitator, shepherding us daily through a rich itinerary, coordinating departures, entry times, lunch and dinner reservations, leaving us each day with rich memories of Roman cities, natural wonders, Christian holy sites and Jewish religious/cultural experiences. Gabi's ability to communicate her love and passion for Israel coupled with her empathy, understanding, concern, and care for the 20 tourists under her care made for wonderful traveling. Our Israeli bus driver, Aman, was outstanding, maneuvering a large bus in crowded cities with skill and humor. And across the border we were met by our Jordanian driver Mohammed, equally skillful and engaging. In Jordan, we were welcomed at the Israeli border by Ali , our charming and exceptional tour manager and guide. Ali's extensive knowledge of history, archaeology, Islam, and Jordanian culture, coupled with his engaging manner, ability to communicate and involve his audience, made our experience especially memorable and enjoyable. Our itinerary was was filled from sunrise until nighttime. Ali delivered wonderful lectures on the tour bus as we traveled from site to site and seamlessly planned and timed our visits and meals. Ali's concern for us, his wealth of information, ability to engage his audience, and the spectacular sites in Jordan all contributed to an exciting week of travel.

My trip was amazing. Our tour guide Omar was wonderful in how he helped each of us when needed to experience all that Jordan had to offer and was so knowledgeable that he could answer almost every question put forth, and in the rare times he didn't know the answers he looked them up and then told us. This was my 2nd Gate 1 trip. My 3rd is this September and I hope that tour guide is as wonderful as Omar. The Discovery Tour showed us so much of Jordan.
