Today's tour starts at the impressive Colonial Cathedral in Cuzco which contains over 400 paintings from the Cusqueña School in addition to an impressive collection of colonial art, including Marcos Zapata's depiction of The Last Supper displaying Cuy, or Guinea Pig, as the main course. Continue on to visit the Temple of the Sun, whose walls and floors were allegedly once covered by sheets of solid gold. This temple was once the most important religious site of the Incas. From here you will travel to Sacsayhuaman, located on the northern slope of Cuzco. | It is each traveler's responsibility to have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel and a visa if required. IMPORTANT: Passengers who are not U.S. citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa. Passport applications are available at most U.S. Post Offices, as well as at regional Passport Agencies. Passengers requiring visas, whether obtained in advance or locally upon arrival, should ensure that their passport has blank pages.

| About Your Train to Machu Picchu |
| Tickets for Machu Picchu will be provided locally. On the day of your visit to Machu Picchu, you will depart by motor coach to the Ollantaytambo station. Your Tour Manager will check that you are carrying your passport which is required to board all Machu Picchu trains. Prior to arrival at the station, you will receive your round trip tickets including seat assignments from your Tour Manager. Passport names and numbers on the tickets must match your passport. You will present your ticket to the conductor prior to boarding the train for Aguas Calientes. You should hold on to your ticket as it will be required for the return journey. Due to very limited storage space, only one small backpack / daypack / handbag per passenger is permitted onboard trains to Machu Picchu. This applies for overnight stays as well. Additional luggage will be transported to and held at your next hotel for no additional charge. Passengers who wish to bring extra luggage on the train will be charged an additional fee payable directly to the train operator; this extra luggage might follow in a separate train car. |
| Traveling with Friends or Family? |
| If you are traveling with friends or family who are booked on another reservation, please make sure that we are aware. On occasion, we may operate more than one vehicle on your tour departure in which case we will ensure that guests will be assigned together. This is achieved by connecting your reservations before your departure. Once you arrive in your destination, it may not be possible to make assignment changes. To check that your reservations are linked, log into https://www.gate1travel.com/reservations with your email and password, select your reservation number, and check to see that your reservations are indicated as "Traveling With" at the top right side of the display. |
| Trip Preparation |
| A little pre-planning can make your trip go a lot smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas, driver's license) are in order. Make sure also that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip and carry them with you in case your luggage is delayed. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in the event that your luggage is delayed or lost. Lost luggage is common. We strongly urge you to consider carry-ons instead of checked bags when possible, and when checking a bag is necessary, choose a bag color and identification that stands out. We suggest that you make photocopies of passports, visas, personal ID and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. You may also make a digital copy of your passport to keep a clear picture with the important details in your cell phone or digital camera photos. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. You may consider bringing a small supply of over the counter medications for headaches and/or anti-diarrhea pills (especially when traveling outside of the USA and Western Europe). We recommend that you pack a portable alarm clock. Due to security reasons, many museums have restrictions on the size of bags that can be taken inside and backpacks, carry-on bags or large purses may not be permitted. It is recommended to bring a small shoulder bag or purse to use in these situations instead. Avoid placing valuables such as cameras in your checked luggage. Airplane pressure can cause similar pressure in your body, most notably in ears, as well as liquid tubes and bottles. Your physician can suggest medication for decongestion. We suggest that you place liquid containers into Ziploc bags to catch any leaks. |
| Travel Safety Advice: The safety of our guests is Gate 1’s #1 concern. | Staying Healthy While Traveling |
| Please consult with your healthcare provider for up-to-date requirements. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) and/or the World Health Organization (http://www.who.int/en/) for their recommendations. Any required inoculations must be documented by clients' healthcare provider on a valid vaccination certificate, which must be carried as proof where necessary. Individuals with heart disease, chronic illness, physical handicap, advanced pregnancy, or mental illness should not participate in these rigorous travel programs. While traveling, illnesses can sometimes be unavoidable. If a traveler arrives feeling ill or becomes sick during the tour, they will be separated from the group and directed to either a local or virtual medical facility for diagnosis. This precaution is necessary to ensure the well-being of all travelers. The traveler may only rejoin the group after receiving written clearance from an accredited medical facility confirming they are fit to continue. | Peru - While no inoculations are required, vaccination against yellow fever is recommended, especially if traveling to the Amazon. For the latest health requirements and recommendations, please visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization websites. You should also consult with your personal healthcare provider. You may encounter mosquitoes in both urban and rural areas, especially during wet season. Travelers are encouraged to bring insect repellent and consider wearing clothing that adequately covers arms and legs. Traveler’s diarrhea is common and is caused by contaminated food or water, often resulting in dehydration. You are advised to follow these steps to avoid or reduce the symptoms.
High Altitude sickness: Altitude sickness occurs when there is less oxygen in the air that you breath at high altitudes, including Cuzco (11,000 feet) and Puno (12,600 feet). Altitude sickness will affect some travelers regardless of age, gender or physical fitness. Symptoms may include headache, loss of appetite, dizziness and trouble sleeping. For some it will pass within a few hours, however for many the condition if gone untreated may last for several days. We urge you to read and follow these suggestions in order to reduce the chances and/or severity of altitude sickness.

| Peru - The sun is strong, particularly in the higher altitudes. Please bring a sun hat that has a circular brim all the way around (not a baseball cap) and sunscreen. Pack comfortable, cushioned walking shoes for the hard cobblestone streets, a sweater, clothes you can layer and an all-weather jacket. When visiting Machu Picchu, please be aware that walking sticks are not allowed in some areas of the archaeological site and must be carried in a backpack. Walking sticks must be rubber tipped. Also selfie sticks are forbidden and only folding umbrellas are allowed. Remember that during your trip you will be traveling between different climate zones and will need to be prepared for all weather conditions. Please check to which season and region(s) you will be traveling and pack accordingly. Winter months (May - October) are cold. During those periods you will need a warm jacket, gloves, a hat and a scarf. Some religious sites may require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops). Peru's climate varies by season and region. The coastal region (Lima) has two clear seasons, summer (December - March) and winter (May - October). Winter is generally damp and chilly. This region sees little rain, but can see mist and drizzle during the winter. The coastal area of Ica (Paracas, Nazca) enjoys warm dry weather throughout the year. The highlands region of Peru (Cuzco, Puno, Urubamba, Machu Picchu) has a dry temperate climate that also experiences two distinct seasons. The dry season (May - October) consists of sunny days and cold nights with very little rain. The rainy season in the highlands runs from December to March. | As a courtesy service, complimentary airline seat assignments are requested on your behalf and, when available, are displayed in order of Passenger #1, #2 and so on. Assignments reflect the best available seats at the time of booking. Some airlines and/or fare types do not allow for pre-seating and require this be done at airport check-in only; in which case the display shows “N/A”. Seats are subject to change by your airline(s) including, for example, when there is a schedule change or equipment change after your initial booking; this may cause seat assignments to be changed or even cancelled. Some airlines offer preferred seating for an additional fee; these seats may only be purchased directly from the airline. You will need your family name and the 6-digit airline “Record Locator” which is displayed with the flight details on your reservation. In the event that you change seat assignments directly with your airline, changes will not be reflected on your invoice or documents. | Checked bags are typically limited to a total dimension of 62 inches by adding length + width + height (example: 26"+26"+10" = 62"), and a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23kg). Smart Bags with a USB charging port, GPS tracking device and other high-tech features are prohibited as checked or carry-on baggage unless the bag is made with removable batteries and the batteries are removed and stored separately. Many airlines charge for checked bags including flights which begin and end within the USA. The most inexpensive airfare options commonly known as Basic Economy airfares do not include any checked bags nor seat assignments before the day of departure. However, for some airlines, other airfare categories also do not include checked baggage. This will be clearly displayed in our airfare selection and on your invoice. Where available, we highly recommend selecting airfares which include at least 1 piece of checked baggage. | What to do if You Need Assistance |
Whether you purchased your airfare from Gate 1 Travel or from the airline directly, please bear in mind that Gate 1 Travel does not own nor operate the airline(s), nor the airport facilities where they operate. At times, flying can be a frustrating experience, especially when things do not go exactly as planned, and airline explanations can be confusing or even misleading. Should you face a problem, remain calm and seek assistance either from the airline directly or from Gate 1. Please be aware that in most cases, on the day of your flight(s), airlines pass responsibility for your reservation to their staff at the airport and it is not always possible for Gate 1 Travel to intervene on your behalf, either through our reservations system or directly with your airline. |

| Upon arrival, please complete immigration formalities if necessary and claim your luggage. If your program includes airport arrival transfers, check your voucher for specific instructions, as they vary with every destination. In most cases, you will be met after collecting your luggage or passing through Customs by the local representative who will be holding a Gate 1 Travel sign and/or a sign with your name on it. In some instances you will be instructed to walk a short distance to a transportation counter. The company's name and location will be printed on your voucher. If for any reason you do not connect with the Gate 1 transfer personnel, go to the Tourist Information Desk and ask them to page the Gate 1 Travel representative or phone the number on your voucher. If you are delayed due to lost luggage, phone the number on the voucher or have a companion exit the Customs Area to advise the transfer representative. Be wary of airport scammers who offer unwanted assistance. If you are arriving without a pre-arranged transfer, we strongly recommend going to the Tourist Information Desk to ask for a licensed taxi or transfer service. You may be asked to pay for the transfer at the desk prior to the trip, this will ensure you are not charged extra during the trip. |
| What To Do When Your Flight Is Delayed |
| Airlines do not share flight manifest information. Therefore, the only way we may learn of a delay or schedule change while you are traveling is from you, the traveler. The sooner you are able to contact one of our offices, the better we can respond. Please refer to the Emergency Assistance instructions on this same document. Gate 1 Travel is only able to guarantee pre-reserved arrival transfers for up to one hour from the scheduled time, no matter the cause. In case you are delayed for any reason, and are unable to follow the instructions on your voucher, please make independent transfer arrangements and retain your receipts. Unused tour services, including transfers and hotel nights are not refundable. Upon you return home you will need to contact your airline and/or insurance carrier to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for any unused tour services. |

| Departure Flights - Some flights depart shortly after midnight in the very early morning on the day of departure. Transfers depart the hotel approximately 4 hours prior to flight time and therefore the final package overnight may be missed in the event an early morning flight is purchased. No refunds are issued due to unused services. |

| Due to local traffic and other extenuating circumstances, we ask that you allow 30 minutes from your scheduled transfer time for our representative to arrive. This includes hotel, airport and cruise transfers. Such possible delays are taken into consideration in scheduling transfers and you should therefore have no concerns about arriving late for your tour, flight or cruise. For transfers from a hotel, let the hotel reception desk or concierge know that you are waiting for a transfer. In the case of a missed transfer, reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses will be considered provided you obtain a written statement from the hotel's front desk verifying the length of time you waited, and the time you left the hotel, and a receipt for your transportation with time and date. The cost of a transfer is more expensive than hiring a taxi, as a Gate 1 transfer necessarily includes round trip service, or 'dead-leg'. Often the places of call (airports, seaports, hotels) demand entrance and parking fees, where drivers may have to wait for up to an hour. Passengers comfortable hiring a taxi on their own and do not require assistance will save money. |

| Hotels |
| Gate 1 Travel has carefully selected each hotel based on overall quality, location, price, service, and cleanliness. All rooms are standard twin-bedded (two single beds) rooms with private facilities. Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a run-of-house basis. Triple rooms consist of standard twin beds or one double bed plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person except in the U.S. and Canada, where triple rooms often consist of two double/queen beds for three persons; where available, a fee may be charged by the hotel for the addition of a cot/rollaway. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. While air conditioning is available in most hotels, we recommend checking the room amenities listed under the "Featured Hotels" tab of your package to confirm. Please note that many international hotels were built before central air conditioning was introduced. In those that do offer air conditioning, usage may be restricted, often due to government regulations aimed at promoting energy conservation. It's typical for air conditioning to be used only during the summer months, to follow a set schedule (sometimes turned off at night), and to operate at lower settings than what many Americans are accustomed to. Some lodges and accommodations in remote regions may not have all of the amenities, such as hairdryer, alarm clock and room service, that you might find in a larger hotel located in a city center. |

| Hotel check-in time is generally not before 4:00 p.m. and check-out time is prior to noon. If you will be arriving early in the day or departing in the evening, hotels will usually allow you to store your luggage in their luggage room. | Peru Hotels - Most hotels in the Peruvian highlands don't have air-conditioning or central heating (although generally a space heater is provided in the room) and may have weak WiFi signal or limited bandwidth. Hotels in the Sacred Valley and Urubamba are often old haciendas that have been renovated and are located in rural areas where the closest store or restaurant may require a taxi ride The comfort level in these hotels may be lower than that in big cities. Lack of hot water and power outages are not uncommon. Some travelers may experience discomfort from the temporary effects of altitude sickness in the Peruvian highlands. Oxygen is available at the front desk of hotels, though not available for use in the rooms (unless there is an emergency). If desired, small disposable portable oxygen pumps can be purchased locally for around $15. Few hotels in Cuzco offer pressurized rooms for those who have difficulty adapting to the higher altitude. |

| About Your Sightseeing |
| To ensure a pleasant and fair experience for passengers on our escorted tours, there is a mandatory seat rotation policy on our motor coaches which will be organized by your Tour Manager. On river cruises, color-coded group splits may be used for shoreside included and Optional tours. Some buses are equipped with toilet facility, however they are strictly intended for emergency use only and often require the vehicle to stop for safety reasons before use. When travel dates coincide with religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, sometimes without prior notice. On these occasions, escorted touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, and/or due to other unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions, there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, which may affect the sequence of the tour and locations visited. National monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovations, which can obscure the monument's view. No tour will be canceled due to renovations, however Gate 1 will decide based on the conditions whether to amend an itinerary. To respect the privacy of all tour participants, your tour manager will not organize a group photo or collect passenger email addresses for a group list. |
| Motor Coaches in Peru - The trip is active and requires a moderate level of fitness. During your sightseeing you will encounter steps particularly in ruins that are higher than our standards of stairs, as well as cobblestone streets and some dirt paths. Please note that motor coaches in Peru are not air-conditioned, with the exception of motor coaches in Lima. Air-conditioning is unavailable and considered unnecessary on coaches in the highlands region (Cuzco, Puno, Urubamba, Machu Picchu) where the temperature ranges between typical highs around 60-65°F and lows of 30-40°F. | Most people enjoy bringing home at least one souvenir from the countries they visit. However, some find any amount of shopping to be too much while others never find enough opportunities. We have built into our Escorted itineraries a few shopping stops at recommended spots. These stops are designed to enhance your experience by providing an opportunity to see first-hand quality locally crafted merchandise which you may not be able to find on your own. Shops are checked to ensure the quality and authenticity of the products they offer, and we limit guides from visiting other locations. In some cases, we plan these stops to provide an opportunity to use clean bathrooms and to stretch your legs. All shops want your satisfaction, and therefore in case of any misunderstanding they ask that you kindly submit your claim to us within one week of the item's receipt. Claims submitted later will be subject to each store's policies. While shopping independently, we advise you to exercise care and common sense when making any purchase. Always get a formal receipt. And remember that, just like in this country, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is! About Tax-Free Shopping Tax-Free Shopping allows shoppers to reclaim the VAT (Value-Added Tax) or GST (Goods and Services Tax) they have paid on their purchases in some foreign countries in accordance with restrictions and procedures as dictated by each country. Refund eligibility varies by country, but may require presenting a scanned copy of your passport at the time of purchase, a minimum amount spent, or providing original store receipts. If you've purchased an escorted tour program, your travel documents will include telephone numbers of local Gate 1 Travel representatives who will do their utmost to assist you in the event of an emergency. The numbers are printed on your Gate 1 Travel vouchers. Please copy the numbers. Once you relinquish the voucher, you will not have this information. Passengers traveling independently should employ the services of hotel concierges and local authorities. |

We are unable to provide meals in accordance with strict religious requirements, such as Kosher or Halal, nor can we accommodate specifically salt-free, high-protein or low-carb meals.

| Peru - Ceviche is one of the classic dishes of Peru - raw fish and shellfish marinated in lime or lemon and served with raw onion toasted corn and sweet potato. Another very popular dish, especially in the Andean region, is Cuy (Guinea Pig). Unique Peruvian drinks include Pisco Sour, the national drink of Peru, made from the white-grape brandy called pisco and the addition of lime juice syrup, egg white and bitters. Another unique drink is Chicha, a beer made from fermented maize. For non-alcoholic drinks, Inca Kola is the most popular soft drink in Peru and Mate de Coca, famous in the Andes region, is an herbal tea made from the coca leaves, used to treat altitude sickness. While it is generally safe to eat fully cooked meats and vegetables, care should be taken to avoid undercooked meat and raw fruits and vegetables. Because tap water is not potable, visitors should only drink bottled water or water that has been boiled and filtered. Avoid ice, as it is usually made from tap water. |

| It is each traveler's responsibility to have a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond the dates of travel and a visa if required. Please check the information at www.gate1travel.com/visas.aspx for the specific country/region you are visiting for more details. IMPORTANT: Passengers who are not U.S. citizens must check with the respective consulate or a visa agency to determine what personal identification is required. Passengers who enter, leave and then re-enter the same country on their itinerary should check if they require a double-entry visa. Passport applications are available at most U.S. Post Offices, as well as at regional Passport Agencies. Passengers requiring visas, whether obtained in advance or locally upon arrival, should ensure that their passport has blank pages.

| About Your Train to Machu Picchu |
| Tickets for Machu Picchu will be provided locally. On the day of your visit to Machu Picchu, you will depart by motor coach to the Ollantaytambo station. Your Tour Manager will check that you are carrying your passport which is required to board all Machu Picchu trains. Prior to arrival at the station, you will receive your round trip tickets including seat assignments from your Tour Manager. Passport names and numbers on the tickets must match your passport. You will present your ticket to the conductor prior to boarding the train for Aguas Calientes. You should hold on to your ticket as it will be required for the return journey. Due to very limited storage space, only one small backpack / daypack / handbag per passenger is permitted onboard trains to Machu Picchu. This applies for overnight stays as well. Additional luggage will be transported to and held at your next hotel for no additional charge. Passengers who wish to bring extra luggage on the train will be charged an additional fee payable directly to the train operator; this extra luggage might follow in a separate train car. |
| Traveling with Friends or Family? |
| If you are traveling with friends or family who are booked on another reservation, please make sure that we are aware. On occasion, we may operate more than one vehicle on your tour departure in which case we will ensure that guests will be assigned together. This is achieved by connecting your reservations before your departure. Once you arrive in your destination, it may not be possible to make assignment changes. To check that your reservations are linked, log into https://www.gate1travel.com/reservations with your email and password, select your reservation number, and check to see that your reservations are indicated as "Traveling With" at the top right side of the display. |
| Trip Preparation |
| A little pre-planning can make your trip go a lot smoother. Several weeks before your trip, make a list of what you will need to take with you. Make sure your personal documents (passports, visas, driver's license) are in order. Make sure also that you have enough prescription medications to last through the trip and carry them with you in case your luggage is delayed. Bring a change of clothes in your carry-on bag in the event that your luggage is delayed or lost. Lost luggage is common. We strongly urge you to consider carry-ons instead of checked bags when possible, and when checking a bag is necessary, choose a bag color and identification that stands out. We suggest that you make photocopies of passports, visas, personal ID and any other important travel documents and pack them separately from the originals. You may also make a digital copy of your passport to keep a clear picture with the important details in your cell phone or digital camera photos. If you lose the originals while traveling, you'll have copies for easier reporting and replacement. Pack a list of medications including dosage and generic names. You may consider bringing a small supply of over the counter medications for headaches and/or anti-diarrhea pills (especially when traveling outside of the USA and Western Europe). We recommend that you pack a portable alarm clock. Due to security reasons, many museums have restrictions on the size of bags that can be taken inside and backpacks, carry-on bags or large purses may not be permitted. It is recommended to bring a small shoulder bag or purse to use in these situations instead. Avoid placing valuables such as cameras in your checked luggage. Airplane pressure can cause similar pressure in your body, most notably in ears, as well as liquid tubes and bottles. Your physician can suggest medication for decongestion. We suggest that you place liquid containers into Ziploc bags to catch any leaks. |
| Travel Safety Advice: The safety of our guests is Gate 1’s #1 concern. Before making the decision to reserve your vacation, we want you to be aware of potential situations which may impact your holiday. While most of the time our programs run precisely according to plans, on rare occasion force majeure events including weather, transportation mechanical issues, or uninhabitable accommodation, civil unrest and even criminal or terrorist activities will present themselves unexpectedly and with little or no notice. Gate 1 will make the decision to cancel a tour only after receiving verifiable government issued information. We are otherwise obliged to comply with contractual airline and vendor agreements and carry out the tour until or unless we are advised otherwise. In addition, you must be medically able to travel at the time the premium is paid. Independent or escorted tour reservations will be eligible for a future travel credit equal to the full cost of your trip, less the cost of initial deposit, airline-assessed fees, amendment fees, and insurance premium. Sea or river cruise reservations will be eligible for a future travel credit equal to 50% of the cost of your trip, less the cost of initial trip deposit, airline-assessed fees, amendment fees, and insurance premium. All CFAR credits are valid for a period of two years from the original date of travel. CFAR Credits have no cash value and are not transferrable. | Making Telephone Calls from One Country to Another |
| When dialing a number from one country to another, you should proceed as follows: dial your country's Exit Code (often indicated with a “+” sign), then the destination Country Code, then the Phone Number. | Staying Healthy While Traveling |
| Please consult with your healthcare provider for up-to-date requirements. You may also check the Centers for Disease Control (www.cdc.gov) and/or the World Health Organization (http://www.who.int/en/) for their recommendations. Any required inoculations must be documented by clients' healthcare provider on a valid vaccination certificate, which must be carried as proof where necessary. Individuals with heart disease, chronic illness, physical handicap, advanced pregnancy, or mental illness should not participate in these rigorous travel programs. While traveling, illnesses can sometimes be unavoidable. If a traveler arrives feeling ill or becomes sick during the tour, they will be separated from the group and directed to either a local or virtual medical facility for diagnosis. This precaution is necessary to ensure the well-being of all travelers. The traveler may only rejoin the group after receiving written clearance from an accredited medical facility confirming they are fit to continue. All costs associated with medical treatment and related expenses such as additional hotel nights or transportation not included in the original itinerary will be the responsibility of the passenger. Travel protection plans will only consider coverage with service receipts provided by legally qualified health care facilities, and in accordance with policy terms. There are several easy steps you can take to stay healthy while traveling which may help prevent contracting an illness while away from home.

| Peru - While no inoculations are required, vaccination against yellow fever is recommended, especially if traveling to the Amazon. For the latest health requirements and recommendations, please visit the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and the World Health Organization websites. You should also consult with your personal healthcare provider. You may encounter mosquitoes in both urban and rural areas, especially during wet season. Travelers are encouraged to bring insect repellent and consider wearing clothing that adequately covers arms and legs. Traveler’s diarrhea is common and is caused by contaminated food or water, often resulting in dehydration. You are advised to follow these steps to avoid or reduce the symptoms.
High Altitude sickness: Altitude sickness occurs when there is less oxygen in the air that you breath at high altitudes, including Cuzco (11,000 feet) and Puno (12,600 feet). Altitude sickness will affect some travelers regardless of age, gender or physical fitness. Symptoms may include headache, loss of appetite, dizziness and trouble sleeping. For some it will pass within a few hours, however for many the condition if gone untreated may last for several days. We urge you to read and follow these suggestions in order to reduce the chances and/or severity of altitude sickness.

| Climate & Clothing |
| Peru - The sun is strong, particularly in the higher altitudes. Please bring a sun hat that has a circular brim all the way around (not a baseball cap) and sunscreen. Pack comfortable, cushioned walking shoes for the hard cobblestone streets, a sweater, clothes you can layer and an all-weather jacket. When visiting Machu Picchu, please be aware that walking sticks are not allowed in some areas of the archaeological site and must be carried in a backpack. Walking sticks must be rubber tipped. Also selfie sticks are forbidden and only folding umbrellas are allowed. Remember that during your trip you will be traveling between different climate zones and will need to be prepared for all weather conditions. Please check to which season and region(s) you will be traveling and pack accordingly. Winter months (May - October) are cold. During those periods you will need a warm jacket, gloves, a hat and a scarf. Some religious sites may require modest dress to enter (no shorts, short skirts, or sleeveless tops). Peru's climate varies by season and region. The coastal region (Lima) has two clear seasons, summer (December - March) and winter (May - October). Winter is generally damp and chilly. This region sees little rain, but can see mist and drizzle during the winter. The coastal area of Ica (Paracas, Nazca) enjoys warm dry weather throughout the year. The highlands region of Peru (Cuzco, Puno, Urubamba, Machu Picchu) has a dry temperate climate that also experiences two distinct seasons. The dry season (May - October) consists of sunny days and cold nights with very little rain. The rainy season in the highlands runs from December to March. Temperatures can change drastically during the day in this region. The jungle region (Amazon River) is tropical and humid. The summer months (April - October) are considered the dry season, though despite the name it should be noted that it rains two-thirds of the year in the rainforest. While some countries have clear, established drone laws, others do not, or existing regulations are undergoing review and change. | As a courtesy service, complimentary airline seat assignments are requested on your behalf and, when available, are displayed in order of Passenger #1, #2 and so on. Assignments reflect the best available seats at the time of booking. Some airlines and/or fare types do not allow for pre-seating and require this be done at airport check-in only; in which case the display shows “N/A”. Seats are subject to change by your airline(s) including, for example, when there is a schedule change or equipment change after your initial booking; this may cause seat assignments to be changed or even cancelled. Some airlines offer preferred seating for an additional fee; these seats may only be purchased directly from the airline. You will need your family name and the 6-digit airline “Record Locator” which is displayed with the flight details on your reservation. In the event that you change seat assignments directly with your airline, changes will not be reflected on your invoice or documents. At the time that Gate 1 travel documents are issued, the currently assigned seats will be listed based on the assignments stored in your airline reservation at that time. | Checked bags are typically limited to a total dimension of 62 inches by adding length + width + height (example: 26"+26"+10" = 62"), and a maximum weight of 50 lbs (23kg). Smart Bags with a USB charging port, GPS tracking device and other high-tech features are prohibited as checked or carry-on baggage unless the bag is made with removable batteries and the batteries are removed and stored separately. Many airlines charge for checked bags including flights which begin and end within the USA. The most inexpensive airfare options commonly known as Basic Economy airfares do not include any checked bags nor seat assignments before the day of departure. However, for some airlines, other airfare categories also do not include checked baggage. This will be clearly displayed in our airfare selection and on your invoice. Where available, we highly recommend selecting airfares which include at least 1 piece of checked baggage. Gate 1 Travel is not responsible for checked bag fees, excess luggage or weight charges levied by an airline. Checked baggage allowances displayed on reservation details and invoices reflect the applicable allowance at the time of booking but are subject to change by your airline(s). | The airline tickets enclosed are for your international flights to/from Lima (provided that you purchased them from Gate 1). If tickets for your flights within Peru are not enclosed, you will receive your tickets (for example, Lima to Cuzco and vice-versa) once you arrive in Peru. Please note that your checked luggage has a maximum weight limit of 50 lbs per person on flights within Peru. This weight restriction may differ from your international carrier's and is subject to change. A passport or picture ID is required to board all flights in Peru including the Nazca Lines overflight. |

| What to do if You Need Assistance |
Whether you purchased your airfare from Gate 1 Travel or from the airline directly, please bear in mind that Gate 1 Travel does not own nor operate the airline(s), nor the airport facilities where they operate. At times, flying can be a frustrating experience, especially when things do not go exactly as planned, and airline explanations can be confusing or even misleading. Should you face a problem, remain calm and seek assistance either from the airline directly or from Gate 1. Please be aware that in most cases, on the day of your flight(s), airlines pass responsibility for your reservation to their staff at the airport and it is not always possible for Gate 1 Travel to intervene on your behalf, either through our reservations system or directly with your airline. |

| Arrival Procedures |
| Upon arrival, please complete immigration formalities if necessary and claim your luggage. If your program includes airport arrival transfers, check your voucher for specific instructions, as they vary with every destination. In most cases, you will be met after collecting your luggage or passing through Customs by the local representative who will be holding a Gate 1 Travel sign and/or a sign with your name on it. In some instances you will be instructed to walk a short distance to a transportation counter. The company's name and location will be printed on your voucher. If for any reason you do not connect with the Gate 1 transfer personnel, go to the Tourist Information Desk and ask them to page the Gate 1 Travel representative or phone the number on your voucher. If you are delayed due to lost luggage, phone the number on the voucher or have a companion exit the Customs Area to advise the transfer representative. Be wary of airport scammers who offer unwanted assistance. If you are arriving without a pre-arranged transfer, we strongly recommend going to the Tourist Information Desk to ask for a licensed taxi or transfer service. You may be asked to pay for the transfer at the desk prior to the trip, this will ensure you are not charged extra during the trip. |
| What To Do When Your Flight Is Delayed |
| Airlines do not share flight manifest information. Therefore, the only way we may learn of a delay or schedule change while you are traveling is from you, the traveler. The sooner you are able to contact one of our offices, the better we can respond. Please refer to the Emergency Assistance instructions on this same document. Gate 1 Travel is only able to guarantee pre-reserved arrival transfers for up to one hour from the scheduled time, no matter the cause. In case you are delayed for any reason, and are unable to follow the instructions on your voucher, please make independent transfer arrangements and retain your receipts. Unused tour services, including transfers and hotel nights are not refundable. Upon you return home you will need to contact your airline and/or insurance carrier to investigate the possibility of reimbursement for any unused tour services. |
| Departure Procedures |
| If your program includes departure transfers, instructions will be stated on your voucher or provided locally. |
| Departure Flights - Some flights depart shortly after midnight in the very early morning on the day of departure. Transfers depart the hotel approximately 4 hours prior to flight time and therefore the final package overnight may be missed in the event an early morning flight is purchased. No refunds are issued due to unused services. |
| Transfers |
| Due to local traffic and other extenuating circumstances, we ask that you allow 30 minutes from your scheduled transfer time for our representative to arrive. This includes hotel, airport and cruise transfers. Such possible delays are taken into consideration in scheduling transfers and you should therefore have no concerns about arriving late for your tour, flight or cruise. For transfers from a hotel, let the hotel reception desk or concierge know that you are waiting for a transfer. In the case of a missed transfer, reimbursement for your out-of-pocket expenses will be considered provided you obtain a written statement from the hotel's front desk verifying the length of time you waited, and the time you left the hotel, and a receipt for your transportation with time and date. The cost of a transfer is more expensive than hiring a taxi, as a Gate 1 transfer necessarily includes round trip service, or 'dead-leg'. Often the places of call (airports, seaports, hotels) demand entrance and parking fees, where drivers may have to wait for up to an hour. Passengers comfortable hiring a taxi on their own and do not require assistance will save money. |
| About Your Accommodations |
| Hotels |
| Gate 1 Travel has carefully selected each hotel based on overall quality, location, price, service, and cleanliness. All rooms are standard twin-bedded (two single beds) rooms with private facilities. Special requests such as bed types, smoking preference and connecting rooms are subject to availability. Room selection in all cases, unless otherwise reserved, is strictly at the discretion of the hotel's management on a run-of-house basis. Triple rooms consist of standard twin beds or one double bed plus a sofa/folding bed or cot for third person except in the U.S. and Canada, where triple rooms often consist of two double/queen beds for three persons; where available, a fee may be charged by the hotel for the addition of a cot/rollaway. The number of persons accommodated does not dictate the room size. While air conditioning is available in most hotels, we recommend checking the room amenities listed under the "Featured Hotels" tab of your package to confirm. Please note that many international hotels were built before central air conditioning was introduced. In those that do offer air conditioning, usage may be restricted, often due to government regulations aimed at promoting energy conservation. It's typical for air conditioning to be used only during the summer months, to follow a set schedule (sometimes turned off at night), and to operate at lower settings than what many Americans are accustomed to. | Peru Hotels - Most hotels in the Peruvian highlands don't have air-conditioning or central heating (although generally a space heater is provided in the room) and may have weak WiFi signal or limited bandwidth. Hotels in the Sacred Valley and Urubamba are often old haciendas that have been renovated and are located in rural areas where the closest store or restaurant may require a taxi ride The comfort level in these hotels may be lower than that in big cities. Lack of hot water and power outages are not uncommon. Some travelers may experience discomfort from the temporary effects of altitude sickness in the Peruvian highlands. Oxygen is available at the front desk of hotels, though not available for use in the rooms (unless there is an emergency). If desired, small disposable portable oxygen pumps can be purchased locally for around $15. Few hotels in Cuzco offer pressurized rooms for those who have difficulty adapting to the higher altitude. |

| About Your Sightseeing |
| To ensure a pleasant and fair experience for passengers on our escorted tours, there is a mandatory seat rotation policy on our motor coaches which will be organized by your Tour Manager. On river cruises, color-coded group splits may be used for shoreside included and Optional tours. Some buses are equipped with toilet facility, however they are strictly intended for emergency use only and often require the vehicle to stop for safety reasons before use. When travel dates coincide with religious holidays and national celebrations, some monuments and sites may be closed, sometimes without prior notice. On these occasions, escorted touring itineraries may be amended to reflect these closures. Occasionally, during holidays and certain periods, and/or due to other unforeseen circumstances including weather conditions, there may be last-minute changes, sometimes after arrival, which may affect the sequence of the tour and locations visited. National monuments and tourist sites regularly undergo renovations, which can obscure the monument's view. No tour will be canceled due to renovations, however Gate 1 will decide based on the conditions whether to amend an itinerary. To respect the privacy of all tour participants, your tour manager will not organize a group photo or collect passenger email addresses for a group list. |
| Motor Coaches in Peru - The trip is active and requires a moderate level of fitness. During your sightseeing you will encounter steps particularly in ruins that are higher than our standards of stairs, as well as cobblestone streets and some dirt paths. Please note that motor coaches in Peru are not air-conditioned, with the exception of motor coaches in Lima. Air-conditioning is unavailable and considered unnecessary on coaches in the highlands region (Cuzco, Puno, Urubamba, Machu Picchu) where the temperature ranges between typical highs around 60-65°F and lows of 30-40°F. | Most people enjoy bringing home at least one souvenir from the countries they visit. However, some find any amount of shopping to be too much while others never find enough opportunities. We have built into our Escorted itineraries a few shopping stops at recommended spots. These stops are designed to enhance your experience by providing an opportunity to see first-hand quality locally crafted merchandise which you may not be able to find on your own. Shops are checked to ensure the quality and authenticity of the products they offer, and we limit guides from visiting other locations. In some cases, we plan these stops to provide an opportunity to use clean bathrooms and to stretch your legs. All shops want your satisfaction, and therefore in case of any misunderstanding they ask that you kindly submit your claim to us within one week of the item's receipt. Claims submitted later will be subject to each store's policies. While shopping independently, we advise you to exercise care and common sense when making any purchase. Always get a formal receipt. And remember that, just like in this country, if a deal seems too good to be true, it probably is! If you've purchased an escorted tour program, your travel documents will include telephone numbers of local Gate 1 Travel representatives who will do their utmost to assist you in the event of an emergency. | Peru - Ceviche is one of the classic dishes of Peru - raw fish and shellfish marinated in lime or lemon and served with raw onion toasted corn and sweet potato. Another very popular dish, especially in the Andean region, is Cuy (Guinea Pig). Unique Peruvian drinks include Pisco Sour, the national drink of Peru, made from the white-grape brandy called pisco and the addition of lime juice syrup, egg white and bitters. Another unique drink is Chicha, a beer made from fermented maize. For non-alcoholic drinks, Inca Kola is the most popular soft drink in Peru and Mate de Coca, famous in the Andes region, is an herbal tea made from the coca leaves, used to treat altitude sickness. While it is generally safe to eat fully cooked meats and vegetables, care should be taken to avoid undercooked meat and raw fruits and vegetables. Because tap water is not potable, visitors should only drink bottled water or water that has been boiled and filtered. Avoid ice, as it is usually made from tap water. |

I recently returned from a Discovery tour of Peru. I can not say enough about every Gate 1 employee I met on this trip, especially Victor. Victor went above & beyond expectations in every way every day. His special touches made this trip even more memorable, like assuring all our rooms faced Lake Titicaca so we could see the sunrise over the lake from our rooms & bringing grass so we could feed the llamas & alpacas. He scheduled rest stops at interesting places that had more than just toilets (shops or amazing views), kept us interested with history & Peruvian tales & showed us movies that pertained to what we were to see or do. All of our city guides were wonderful, Mauricio, Renzo, David & Richard, bringing their own unique perspective on where we visited. I can not say enough about Victor. We had several medical issues with a few guests which he handled professionally & safely. He treated us like family making sure everyone was included in our activities to their ability. He is truly an asset to your company. Also, Richard will make a fantastic tour manager because he has learned from the best! This was an amazing trip and the TG, his assistant TG and the bus drivers were all perfect. Fredy was so knowledgeable and any questions we had were answered right away. Every recommendation was on point, from restaurants to shopping. Any suggestion he had, I took and it was exactly what I was looking for. Fredy made sure we were comfortable and was always asking if we needed anything. The assistant TG was equally as good. He made sure we had everything we needed. Most amazing trip and this was my 9th Gate 1trip, driver was amazing in those narrow streets and always had water and hand sanitizer ready and bus was clean, local guides were knowledgeable and interesting, tour manager Elvis showed his loved for Peru and kept harmony and in the group and kept us safe and informed. I lost my passport coming back from Machu Pichu and staff located it and arranged for the return that night which is amazing and is main reason I use gate 1 because I know they look out our health and safety. Just want to add my wife and I Gate 1 experience was exceptional. This in part was made by many things that Gate 1 anticipated and made it much less stressful when travelling for over 18 days. We enjoyed that the staff took care in helping, leading and directing guests. But overall, our satisfaction with the trip was elevated to a 10 by tour managers, Marina and Jimmy, who made the group come together like a family. They are so knowledgeable which made the tours so enjoyable. That is what I wanted, the history of the sites. They are so helpful in listening to all who has questions or problems. I had the absolute privilege of being guided through Peru by Marcos, and I can confidently say he is one of the most exceptional tour guides I've ever encountered. His deep knowledge of Incan history, local culture, and regional nuances added incredible depth to every location we visited. But what truly set Marcos apart was his ability to connect. My trip to Peru was life changing! It all started with having an AMAZING Tour Guide - Mauricio. Mauricio's passion for all things Peru was palpable. He has a great personality which makes everyday fun and entertaining. His attention to detail and organized manner always made me feel safe and he left nothing to chance. I learned so much about Peru from Mauricio but felt a spiritual connection that I never expected. Our Guides - Frankie in Lima and Elseo in Puno were also incredibly knowledgeable and wonderful. Our bus driver Justino navigated twisting, narrow roads and was an excellent driver. Jason, our tour assistant in Cusco, was very pleasant and helpful as well. Peru is an incredible country! Machu Picchu was a highlight of my trip but I also enjoyed the Cusco Market, Victor the Shaman, the floating Uros Islands, The Museo Larco and the Gold Museum, the Moray Agriculture Center and the Weavers in Chinchero. I highly recommend this trip!

Our trip was spectacular and was the best trip we have had in all of our travels. The reason for this was not only the adventure, beautiful scenery and the peace of mind we had. one main reason for why we feel this way was due to our Tour Manager, Parvel. He is knowledgeable, caring and was always there when we needed him. He took excellent care of each and everyone in our group especially with the high altitude challenges experienced by several of our tour friends. He handled all of our travel needs with personal attention and we didn't have to worry about anything. He was honest, sincere and had a good sense of humor. He shared his family history with us which made us feel he was more than a professional tour guide. With his caring and kind heart we became an extension of his family. This trip wouldn't have been as memorable if not for Parvel. In addition we had great local guides including Alexis and Marisio. We could not say more about how safe we felt traveling with Parvel. All of the Gate 1 staff were excellent.

I would just like to reiterate what a wonderful adventure this trip was for my husband and me. The itinerary was all that we could hope for. Our tour guide, Alex, went above and beyond, which is one reason this trip was so outstanding. With the challenges we faced regarding altitude and weather, he made sure everyone felt safe and comfortable. He was so knowledgeable of all the background and history of the sites we visited. His warm and accepting personality, helped to form the cohesiveness of the group, more so than other tour groups my husband and I had been a part of. He took everything one step further, offering assistance as we traveled onward, beyond the tour group. If we do another Gate 1 Tour within South America, I will definitely look for one guided by him.

I would like to say a few words about our tour manager, Gary. To be perfectly honest, I don't think I could say enough good about him, and I consider our group to have been incredibly blessed to have been the recipient of his services throughout this tour! First of all, this man has an obvious passion to share everything about his country and culture from his heart, even on a very personal level. He is clearly proud of his heritage and the historical and cultural richness of his country, and he exemplifies all that is good about it. While being ever-mindful of his shepherding responsibilities for the safety and well-being of each group member at all times, he was truly both compassionate and caring, even in the small details. For example, he went out of his way to surprise another group member and me in celebrating our birthday (both on the same day) with decorative cakes in conjunction with a dinner at a restaurant, and got the Andean singers performing there to sing a special "Happy Birthday" to us! He ensured that each of us received a daily wake-up call. He provided appropriate and relevant tips and warnings to ensure that we got the most out of our experience and enjoyed our time to the fullest by knowing how to proceed cautiously. Moreover, he was absolutely skillful in employing innovative ways to get the group family to bond early and maintain that closeness with each other throughout the tour. His thorough explanations of cultural points helped add much-needed insights into our overall learning experience. Indeed, he represents the very best that Gate 1 Travel has to offer!

Tour Manager was excellent. Elvis showed a love for his country, extensive knowledge of its history and great compassion for the needs of the group. The local guides were all knowledgeable and personable. The real test was on our return to Lima from Arequipa. Latam Airlines cancelled 5 different flights to Lima leaving almost all of the group needing to change reservations for return to home. Elvis spent many hours coordinating changes in flight schedules to get us back to Lima. Once in Lima flights were late arriving and required more schedule changes. Elvis spent more hours working to get many of us home. This is certainly not the fault of Gate 1, it is comforting to know the extent that Gate 1 employees will take to ensure the safety and needs of clients. Elvis stayed with us through the night at Lima airport coordinating flights and dealing with airline. While it was not the perfect ending to our trip, it is comforting to know the efforts that Gate 1 and its tour directors will take to ensure our safety and comfort in a foreign land. This was our 6th Gate1 tour and the first with this type of issue. Elvis went above and beyond to make sure that we were cared for during trying times. Many thanks to Elvis and the entire Gate 1 team for turning a potential nightmare into a minor inconvenience. The tour was great even if the ending was a little rocky.

Kudos to our Tour Manager Raul who made everything interesting and fun! It is said that a tour manager and his team members (assistant guides and driver) can make or break one's experience. Raul had a very deep knowledge of Peru which he shared with enthusiasm and great humor! His love of and pride for his country is remarkable! Plus, he went out of his way to cultivate human connections and help out several travelers with their specific needs! On July 4, he surprised the group (all from the USA) with cake and drinks. By the end of the 10-day journey, we became one family, with us fondly calling him "Papa Raul"! His assistants are also remarkable, always volunteering to take pics. The highlights of Peru that I will always carry with me are Machu Picchu, Maras and Moray, Uros the floating island on Lake Titicaca. I love the culture and the opportunity to interact with Peruvians in Chincero and enjoy lunch! I returned home with plenty of memorable and NOVEL experiences to share with my family, in particular, the dancing on the train to Machu Picchu! I definitely recommend Peru for one's bucket list especially with Raul as the tour manager!

We had a wonderful time on our first Gate 1 Travel Experience and Honeymoon on the 12 Day Kaleidoscope Peru Trip. Our tour manager, Pavel was simply terrific! He was able to create group commodity on the first day and always went above and beyond. Everyone could tell that he cares, not because it's his job to care, but because he really cares about his guests, the experience, and his country. We loved Peru and would do the same tour again just to have that experience with Pavel again. We also loved our experiences with Jhon in Lima and Jimmy in Cusco. Both of them were terrific and a wealth of knowledge. Our main driver, Dante, always made us feel safe every part of the journey and was very kind as well. Thank you for a wonderful experience and we look forward to traveling with Gate 1 again in the future.

I must say that this trip, number 19, I believe, was amazing! Our Tour Manager, Jean, went above and beyond in everything he did. He had our boarding passes and luggage tags for us before we flew to say time at the airport and this is the first time that this has ever happened, but I must say, it saved a lot of time. He did the same thing with the train tickets at Machu Picchu. He is a great asset to Gate 1 and we would definitely do another tour with him as our tour manager. Alvero, the assistant was exceptional as well and was so knowledgeable. Julio, our bus driver, took great care of us and our belongings. I must say, this was one of our best trips yet and we have more trips booked with Gate 1.

This was our 4th Gate 1 trip. It was amazing as always! Marcos was so accommodating and friendly. He was always smiling and sharing interesting facts. Alexis in Cusco was spectacular as well. He was so friendly and truly an amazing guide. He made sure everyone was ok, he was easy to talk to, and he had amazing knowledge. We thoroughly enjoyed chatting with both Marcos and Alexis. Alexis should definitely be a full pledged tour manager. He would be great! We had an amazing group of people too. Everyone was friendly. We made some travel friends for more Gate 1 trips! It was a wonderful trip! Our tour manager, Abel, was fantastic! He paid attention to detail and to the group's needs in general and to my wife's strict vegan diet. On top of that, he's quite knowledgeable about the history of places that we visited as part of the tour, not surprised since I believe he majored in history in college. Please make sure Gate1 keeps Abel, as he's an excellent asset for the company.

The whole trip was absolutely wonderful. Well organized, and nearly flawlessly run, the scenery was beautiful, explanations of history, culture and archeology were clear and well presented, and the other travelers as well as the Gate One staff were a genuine pleasure. We really couldn't have been more pleased. Our tour director Edgard was really special- I've never had a tour guide with his range of abilities and knowledge, and the local guide in the Cuzco area, Angela, was also a standout. The only bad news is that it will be VERY hard for the personnel on our next Gate One tours to meet the high standards set by this group!!

Our trip to Peru was better than we even imagined. Gary was an excellent guide. He went above and beyond to make sure we learned about and enjoyed Peru. We always had the feeling that he was always looking out for our safety and comfort while taking in all of the amazing sites and experiences throughout Peru. We are so thankful he was our guide. We also felt that we were in good hands with our driver, Mel. He was so kind as he greeted us each day and he stayed so calm in all driving situations. This was our first Gate1 experience. I have been traveling all these years with different travel agencies, but this is my first time with Gate 1. I just got back from 12-day Kaleidoscope of Peru. and I'm so impressed by this agency. We had the best tour manager Rogger ever. He took care of us like his own family. We received great services from the time we arrived in Lima and to our departure. The word "impressed "was not even enough. We enjoyed visiting the school that Gate 1 sponsors. Overall, we had an amazing experience! Looking forward for more trips in the future and highly recommend to my friends as well.

Our trip was absolutely fantastic. Jhonatan was excellent. His knowledge and love for his culture was truly appreciated. He was very organized and kept us on track. Percy and Rene were also excellent guides. It was more than we ever expected. The in-home Peruvian dinner really helped us experience a different culture and we appreciate that. All of the experiences were great. We really enjoyed the Andean priest ceremony and walking with the alpacas. I would strongly recommend this trip. We signed up for the walking tour and had great hikes. However, the combined experiences were a once in a lifetime trip

Our tour to Machu Pichu far exceeded expectations. Frank, our tour guide, was extremely well organized and everything was run timely and on time. He was very personable and fun. He was very thoughtful and attentive to his group on every level. We all felt safe and cared for throughout the trip. He thought of everything from water and cacao candies to fight altitude sickness to bananas and Peruvian chuta bread for in-between meals. He planned several "side trips" which were very fun and interesting, including a visit to an alpaca farm, a stop at a Peruvian potter, and a night sky excursion for a viewing of the southern cross, Milky Way, etc. Frank's knowledge of Peru and Inca culture was at a PhD level and very capably and simply conveyed that information to the group. In my opinion, Frank is the GOAT of tour guides. He was a very special find! Because of him, we will take several more Gate 1 Tours.

It was AMAZING! We had such a great time and Maachu Pichu was stunning! This was our first time using Gate 1 Travel and we were really impressed. The accommodations, transportation and itinerary were fantastic! Our Tour Manager Ronaldo was OUTSTANDING! He was absolutely wonderful and kept everything running smoothly. We loved hearing about the indigenous people of Peru - the history, the culture, the food. Ronaldo and his assistant Juan were so knowledgeable and worked so hard to make our vacation a memorable one. We will book again with Gate 1 because of the outstanding work of our Tour Manager. We just completed our small group Peruvian tour and once again Gate 1 has exceeded expectations on a truly amazing travel experience! This is our 5th trip, but it won't be our last. Your tour directors are the best in the business. Whatever process you use to recruit, hire, train, mentor and retain your tour directors is working extremely well because each and every one we have had on each of our 5 trips has been top notch. They are master problem solvers and organizers, the best of the best! On this trip, Pavel was our tour director, and he was outstanding in every way. He's a true passionate professional and leader who shares a deep love and understanding of his home country of Peru. The bus drivers you use are also extremely professional and competent. They are the unsung heroes of these trips. In many of these countries the traffic is insane with terrible roads and infrastructure (Peru was no exception). Your bus drivers keep it together and keep all the passengers SAFE and CONFIDENT! Julio was our bus driver on this trip and this guy was rock solid, a true professional and very kind.
