My trip was absolutely wonderful! This was my first, but hopefully not last river cruise. Can't begin to tell you how wonderful it was and the staff on the Monarch Duchess was. From my first step toward the ship to my last step off the ship, someone was always there to greet me and ask if anything can be done for me. My compliance to everyone, for the dishwashers to the captain, thank you so much!

It was outstanding thanks to the great people that work for Gate 1. I like to mention the great waiter Ivan, the activities director Kristina and everyone that was in charge. They all made our trip remarkable. Thank you, looking forward to my next trip to Greece, and next year to Vietnam!

The most wonderful “WOW” experience of my life. The China trip exceeded beyond our expectations. Our tour manager, Jason, other tour guides especially Jenny. Our drivers, hotel, restaurant and cruise staff were all excellent. They made our stay very special that I felt sad saying goodbye to them. From the historical places, the pandas, the flowers, the lights, food, music, cultural presentation, people’s interaction in the park...doing Tae Chi, singing, dancing etc. all these indeed were the total China experience that satisfy the basic human senses: sight, smell, touch, taste and hearing. Jason indeed made this trip personalized, we were all touched when he and Cristina played the music in the bus on our last night at Shanghai “Leaving on a jet plane” and we all sung. I am so glad I was with this group!!! I have to commend all the people who coordinated this trip. Gate 1 Travel indeed is so fortunate to have Jason as their China’s tour manager, he does not only do his job he goes beyond what is expected of him in taking care of us and how he values his job with Gate 1!!! I have been sharing stories and experiences with my family, office mates and friends inspiring them to travel with Gate 1!!! Keep up the good work!! MORE OF THE WORLD FOR LESS!!!

Egypt was truly amazing - I am so glad that Gate 1 has started the tours again there. And so is Egypt! We were warmly welcomed everywhere we went. You really do have to be there to appreciate the scale of the temples and pyramids and the contrast of the Nile and the desert. Already looking for my next adventure.

No words can describe the happiness we experienced on this Egypt trip!

It was fantastic! Our guide Hassam was very knowledgeable and kept our large group on track. The hotels were wonderful. The sights were incredible and we felt very safe.

OMG the trip was spectacular. Our tour guide, Mohammand, was fantastic. The entire trip was well orchestrated and I don't have any complaints. Can't wait to do another trip with you guys.

We had an amazing trip. We speak very highly of Gate 1 Travel and the lengths the company went to to ensure we got maximum time on the boat while the water levels were so low. We appreciated it.

Really interesting and eye opening. I found some of the preconceived notions I had about China were baseless and there were other things I had no idea about. I feel like I have a deeper understanding about life there, what they pride themselves in, and how they’re collectively working towards the future. Our tour manager Jason Yin was fantastic and did an amazing job at accommodating to individual needs and being as inclusive as possible. I look forward to doing it again in a few years to see how much has changed city-wise and culturally.

It was a wonderful trip and we have absolutely no complaints, only praise ... Our tour director (Adriene) was unbelievably attentive and also upbeat even at the most challenging times, and Activity Cooridinator (Daniele) always had something going for us to look forward to. The dining room staff, reception staff, and cabin staff were equally attentive. The food was excellent and there was always plenty to choose from. The small size of the boat allowed us to meet and get to know many great people that we plan on keeping in contact with. Every day was extremely well-organized and our time at each stop was utilized to the max. We will definitely recommend this cruise to others.

We had a wonderful time! Everything was so organized and there was so much to do. This was our first time on this type of cruise and I would highly recommend it, especially for people who do not like crowded ships! The staff on board were wonderful and so accommodating! We had a wonderful time on the Monarch. Jean Pierre was great and all trips went like clockwork. Guides were all excellent. Dining was perfect with good food. Cabins were spacious and well equiped. To cap it all we had wonderful weather. We would certainly use Gate 1 again.

We had a wonderful experience with Gate1. As we moved into Austria & Germany ... the Guides were very knowledgeable & made the history of each location come to life. Miklos Jaros worked tirelessly to be available at all times for questions or suggestions; he made sure everyone knew in advance what to expect, and when & where to assemble for every outing. He was a fountain of interesting information, and we were so very happy to have him come with us to Munich for the final days of our trip. Everyone on the Ship was friendly, pleasant & very helpful. They answered all our questions, engaged us in conversation, and when asked they were willing to share their story with us, so that we could learn about them & where they originated from. I will surely encourage Gate1 Travel among my friends & relatives.

Russia is one of the most beautiful countries we have visited. Definitely going back and will use Gate 1 again . The tour was very well organized, tour guides very knowledgeable. I love that we started from St. Petersburg and ended up in Moscow. It was getting better everyday and like a crescendo. All excursions were good. Will definitely recommend Gate 1 travel to friends.

We had a fantastic time. The River Cruise was amazing ... The cruise staff was so friendly, kind and helpful. They couldn’t do enough for us. The ship was filled with well traveled passengers so we asked around for favorite trips which we are keeping in our minds for future adventures. We would highly recommend this trip to anyone and now that we have experienced the intimacy of river cruising, we would do it again in a heartbeat.

We were very pleased with Gate 1 travel. We had a wonderful cruise that exceeded our expectations. The staff were incredible and Rudy, the cruise director, was outstanding. The food was excellent and the daily tours were extremely well organised and insightful. We are now looking at our next cruise with Gate 1.

I was in the travel industry for 31 years as a travel agent ... I feel well qualified to tell you that your company does a wonderful job for a very reasonable price ... I will say that Adrien Kiss the cruise director and Daniele the activities host did what I can only describe as a fantastic job ... Jason (of your meet and greet staff) assisted my traveling companion in retrieving a lost bag. He too did an excellent job. The attention to detail by the Gate 1 staff is extraordinary. I have been on numerous cruises ... and the staff on this one was just wonderful ... Adrien is a true gem and it is a credit to you that she is in your employ.

We had an awesome river cruise. The weather was great! The Monarch Queen ship was great. All of the staff were amazing. The cruise director did a good job keeping things going when the ship encounter some technical difficulties. We did not miss a thing. It was a very peaceful, relaxing vacation. The ports were interesting and fun to visit. I will never forget sailing through all the castles--stunning. The food was excellent on the ship!! We could not have asked for anything to have been better!!!

We had a great time. It exceeded our expectations. The crew was so efficient and pleasant. Katarina our tour director was amazing, keeping us in the know about the upcoming tours and daily events. Our activities director, Daniele was so much fun keeping us entertained in the evenings. This was our first Gate 1 trip and it won't be our last.

The trip was terrific, we really enjoyed China and the itinerary that Gate1 provided, It was a bit hectic and we were on the go all the time but we really enjoyed it ,we have passed this on to all our inquiring friends, we told them a trip to China is a must. Jack our tour leader was also terrific, he was very informative and no problem was to trivial.

Trip was perfect. Riverboat was spotless. Food delicious. Crew was friendly and always ready to assist. Entertainment in the evening was just enough. Towns were charming. Great tours and tour guides. A fair amount of free time everywhere. Christmas markets were so festive!

It was wonderful - more than exceeded our expectations. Great service, great food, wonderful crew. There were only 104 passengers on this cruise - it was very intimate and friendly. Loved it!!! Thanks Gate 1

The trip was awesome from start to finish. Annette is ... the funniest, most energetic, happiest and most organized tour manager I've ever seen. She was hilarious! The crew on the Monarch Empress were also wonderful...especially my waiter, Gints from Latvia, and the restaurant manager. They really made the trip! Wish I could do it again!!!!

It was a very interesting trip - great value for the money. Our guides were all outstanding - very knowledgeable, informative & helpful. Enjoyed the Russian classes on board which helped to decipher the Russian alphabet. Kudos to Gate 1.

The Gate 1 trip was great. The ship and staff met expectations. The cruise director and activities director both fun but in control. Great experience.

Just wanted to say that the Russian River Cruise was fantastic and that the Gate 1 organisation exceeded expectations. Having done a "Pacific Ocean Cruise" my wife and I were hesitant about this adventure but we need not have been. The smaller group allowed passengers to get to know each other and the tour leader and guides could really focus on our needs and information about locations visited. Cabins were comfortable (if a bit small) and the ever changing view from the cabin window added to the experience. Russia was spectacular, exciting and full of history. This particular cruise provided such a great insight into the country and allowed us to visit small but historic locations ( Uglich, Kirillov ) as well as St Petersburg and Moscow. Would absolutely recommend this tour and Gate 1 as a tour company.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed the river cruise. Your staff was superb, the cities at which we stopped were charming and the guides at each stop were terrific. While we had "below deck" accommodations we were very pleasantly surprised on the amount of light that entered the room and the overall design and cleanliness. I am very much looking forward to another opportunity to river-cruising with Gate 1 again.

This trip to Russia was our 9th vacation with Gate 1 and has been one of the best we have taken. The organization was excellent and the guide, Nikita, was a superb leader. We were deeply impressed with the country, the people and their culture. We particularly enjoyed the spectacular old churches, traditional folk dances and the friendship of the people.

Fantastic, and so were all the guides and especially our tour manager, Kaysa. The river boat was very comfortable and our hotel accommodations were wonderful. Both my wife and I were pleasantly surprised how nice the Russian people were towards us.

Our river cruising experience with Gate 1 was excellent. It Far exceeded our expectations. The magnificence of the hotel Imperial in Prague, the comfort of our cabin, the Service from the ships crew, the first class meals and the general luxury of the boat. We enjoyed the towns that we visited, but would have appreciated a little more time to explore Melk. Overall, a wonderful experience where we have made many new friends. Now enjoying the beach and warmth of Montenegro.

We had the best time, couldn't have asked for me. Great service, interesting ports of call, delicious food and best of all wonderful staff. Will certainly travel with Gate 1 in the future.

Karen and I thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Russia. Your tour guide, Asya, is a wonderful ambassador for both Gate 1 and Russia. This was our fifth Gate 1 trip and, as always, Gate 1 came through for us providing a wonderful vacation.

The river trip on the Monarch Queen from Amsterdam to Budapest surpassed our expectations. Our room was very nice, the bed comfortable. The food was out of this world. All of the tour guides were right on with their facts (I was a World History teacher), connected things to our present day situations and were amusing. You can't for any better cruise director than Mick (Miklos) nor piano player than Peter. What a bang for the buck! Thanks for a wonderful time. We look forward to more travels with Gate 1.

We had the most amazing time! We have talked to many friends about our experience and how wonderful it really was. We lacked for nothing on this trip. We were so well cared for and entertained that this made the whole trip memorable. I have to say that the staff was exceptional. Sunny the bartender was so personable and really did his job well. The others on the ship did all they could to accommodate us. I wish I could remember all their names because they left a lasting impression on both myself and my husband. I asked my friends who were traveling with us what they remember the most, she commented as well on the staff. We both thought they were exceptional. I would certainly travel Gate 1 again and look forward to it.

Loved every minute of the River Cruise. The staff were lovely, very accommodating and fun to be with. Mike organised all our tour visits beautifully and Amir made the activities fun. We grew very fond of Peter the musician on board...such a lovely man and always with a smile on his face. I hope to see him again on another cruise. We loved the staff show they put on for us and we were stunned to see how well George played the guitar! All in all I will be looking forward to another cruise with Gate 1.

OMG it was incredible! Tanya made the trip. She was everything and more. Lena was a quiet wonder. She made sure we were all accounted for a million times. There was not one local guide that was a slacker. They were all top notch and made sure we saw only the best at each place with as few crowds as possible. Best of all, each and every person told their personal stories along with the local lore. This was the first overseas trip my husband has made since the 1970's and I think we've created a traveling monster......where are we going next? Everyone felt so taken care of and we now love Russia. Who would have thought! Just FYI there was a single woman there who was making her 13th Gate 1 tour. That spoke volumes of your company. It was the trip of a lifetime. I can't believe how friendly, informative, comfortable and well organized it was. Miklos, our Cruise Director, provided a wealth of historical and technical (locks and dams) information all along the way, bringing to life the richness of each location with colorful descriptions and tips about what to see. He kept all things organized which is impressive given the number of local guides and logistics (busses, tickets etc) at hand. Each night he prepared us with a talk for the next day. In between, he responded to the interests and needs of individual passengers. Our Entertainment Director, Amir, offered morning yoga and evening dance, games, and group activities that helped everyone have fun. Maitre d, Ivan, and all the dining room staff were delightful, responsive to individual diets, and served lovely meals with classy presentation. Our Hotel Director made sure all were welcomed and comfortable. Housekeeping was thorough, quick, and friendly. During meals we enjoyed the company of a diverse, fun, and interesting group. We chatted about our countries, cultures, and families. Did I mention drinking lots of good wine and local beers? I cannot emphasize enough what great service all provided on this spectacular trip. My only regret is that we had too little time in Vienna and Budapest. Thanks for your help on the front end and keep those trip brochures coming!

We really enjoyed our trip to Russia!! We learned a lot, and every day was filled with new things. Gate 1 trips never disappoint!!

Our trip was everything we were hoping for. Very impressed with crew, food and activities. We are looking forward to 2018 to go on another River Cruise with Gate 1. We have been talking you up to everyone we met especially aussie. We are now on a land tour of Country roads of Croatia then after that we are going to Rome.

It was excellent, everything was first class and we were very well taken care of from start to finish. The hotels and tours were excellent, and the river cruise had excellent amenities, including great food and a comfortable lounge. We saw so many wonderful places. We definitely want to travel Gate 1 again and will recommend to all our friends.
