DAY 3, Friday - Full Day in Rome
Today is free to explore enchanting Rome on your own. Perhaps, join the optional Vatican Museums Tour. This morning, take a guided tour of the Vatican Museums and Michelangelo's incomparable Sistine Chapel. Your local guide will lead you into the museums, where you'll visit one of the most important art collections in the world. Admire the Gallery of Tapestries and the Geographical Maps before arriving to the famous Sistine Chapel, with its great frescos by Michelangelo. Stroll through St. Peter's Square, passing Bernini's famous colonnade to view St. Peter's Basilica. Don't miss the afternoon optional tour to Ancient Rome. Gain special access to the Colosseum, the giant amphitheater used for gladiator fights and public spectacles. It's the largest building ever built in the Roman Empire. Walk along the pavement of the original Roman grid, which crosses the ruins of the Roman Forum. Enjoy views of the Temple of Vesta, Basilica Julia, and Arch of Constantine

DAY 4, Saturday - Full Day in Rome
Spend the day at leisure, perhaps choose the optional Pompeii & its Ruins with lunch from Rome. Depart Rome in the early morning for a drive along the Highway of the Sun, past the Roman countryside and the scenic regions of Lazio and Campania. Admire views of the sea and the still active Mount Vesuvius, as you learn how people lived in ancient times, before reaching the UNESCO Archaeological Site of Pompeii. Explore the ruins of this city trapped in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. After lunch head back to Rome

DAY 5, Sunday - Full Day in Rome
Spend another day at leisure, perhaps participate in the optional Campo de Fiori, Jewish Ghetto & Trastevere Food Walking Tour. Small groups will be led by a local food connoisseur through several Roman neighborhoods to visit the most famous markets, groceries, coffee shops, gelaterias and restaurants. Discover the secrets of world-renowned Italian cuisine while visiting Campo de Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto, and Trastevere. Sample some Italian specialties, for example a slice of freshly baked pizza bianca or, carciofo alla giudia, a Jewish style deep-fried artichoke

Take a tour of Ancient Rome's major sights and skip the long lines for the Archaeological Area with a professional guide. Gain special access to the Colosseum, the giant amphitheater used for gladiator fights and public spectacles, and the largest building ever built in the Roman Empire. Admire the views of the Mediterranean and the still active volcano Vesuvius, as you learn how people lived in ancient times. Stop in Naples for a panoramic tour and have a traditional Neapolitan pizza for lunch. Afterward, visit the UNESCO Archaeological Site of Pompeii and explore the ruins of this city trapped in time after the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD. Explore this once thriving city, frozen in time by layers of volcanic ash. The city's sudden burial served to protect it for the next 17 centuries, when it was finally dug by experts and brought back to its ancient splendor. Return back to Rome in the evening.

Approximate tour duration is 12 hours.
