From the very beginning, Federico was exceptionally organized, ensuring every detail was handled seamlessly so we could fully relax and enjoy the journey. His communication was clear, timely, and always thoughtful, which made navigating each day effortless. What stood out most was Federico's genuine care for the group. He went above and beyond to ensure our safety, accommodate individual needs, offer helpful recommendations, and create a warm, inclusive atmosphere. There was an excellent sense of harmony within the group, which made the entire experience even more enjoyable. This positive dynamic didn't happen by chance-it was clearly a reflection of the tour manager's ability to bring people together, create a welcoming atmosphere, and ensure everyone felt included and comfortable. His leadership fostered a great balance of fun, respect, and connection among all travelers, making the journey feel cohesive and genuinely special. His deep knowledge of each destination added so much richness to the experience, turning every stop into something meaningful rather than just another item on the itinerary. Federico even took us on walking tours in each new location so we would become more familiarized and also made all of us maps all with his personal recommendations for food and activities for leisure time! Federico also handled unexpected situations such as the unpredicted Patagonian weather with calm professionalism and efficiency, which gave everyone a sense of confidence and ease throughout the trip. Overall, Federico's passion, attentiveness, and dedication made this vacation unforgettable. We would gladly travel with him again and highly recommend him to anyone looking for a well-managed and memorable experience!!

Our trip was incredible! We were blessed with great weather. Our tour manager, Sole, was exceptional! She kept us informed each day about our schedules and full of surprises while maintaining our safety. She was warm, calm, professional while creating harmony within our group. Safe drivers, great local guides added to this amazing tour. Kudos to the wonderful staff on the Stella Australis ship! We couldn't have asked for a better team of professionals throughout this adventure.

Virgina was our guide for the 14 day Patagonia tour. She was EXCELLENT. Virginia kept us well informed, had great humor and made our trip one to remember for all of us. This our second tour with Gate 1 and we will continue to tour with Gate 1. Virgina represents the very best in tour Managers. Gate 1 is very lucky to have her.

A more than excellent adventure - I am still reminiscing on the joy this trip brought everyone. Marina is A MORE THAN EXCELLENT tour manager - - she did everything plus more. I recall immediately upon checking into the hotel getting a phone call asking if we were ok and ready for the orientation meeting. Marina is friendly, funny, organized and if/when I go to Antarctica I hope she is the tour manager as well. She is able to multi-task, ensure those who are not as active and those super active maximize their vacation. She helps everyone including food servers, crew on the boat, directing traffic at the airport etc etc. We could not have asked for more. THANK YOU to Marina for making this vacation the best - - it definitely ranks in the top 2. Please share this with her as well!

Well, just wow! What a fantastic 2-week journey to the end of the world... The Glaciers and waterfalls, penguins, zodiac rides, mountains, hotels, all just fabulous. I was especially fond of the Hotel Las Torres. The hikes were challenging enough and scenery extraordinary. The ship and expedition crew were all professional, knowledgeable and very helpful to the guests. My room on the ship was so comfortable, clean and pristine with a wall-to-ceiling window. I was the only one from G1 to go on a particularly challenging hike and I completed it. It was truly amazing. You certainly won't go hungry on the cruise. I met lots of wonderful folks on the ship from other tour groups and travelers on their own. We also had the best tour manager, Lucas! He was warm, funny, a wealth of knowledge and very helpful. He was attentive to his group. He made sure everyone got what they needed, liked their food choices, made special accommodations for those who needed them. Treated everyone well. This trip was in the top 5 of my many, many G1 trips!!

Nacho was an amazing tour director. He is passionate about and loves his job. He took great care of every detail of our trip to ensure our safety and that we were all happy. He promoted group harmony (familia) and cohesiveness, and it was excellent. Nacho is extremely knowledgeable about each site we visited. It's Nacho who makes me want to book another Gate1 trip. I wish he could be my tour manager on every trip. Gate 1 is very lucky to have him.
Pamelyn M.
It was AWESOME! Coni was a great Tour Manager! Everything was exceptionally well managed. It was one of the best tour experiences we have had.
Norma L.
My trip to Patagonia was one of the best trips I have taken with a group and Alex was one of the best tour directors I have had. The trip was multi-layered. We saw beautiful things, learned and experienced the culture of Chile and Argentina that included food, history, information about different aspects of the countries. Alex was attentive to all of our needs. Thank you for a great trip and look forward to another trip with Gate 1.

My wife and I Just completed the 14 Day Patagonia tour, and We had Marina as our Tour-manager. Our Gate1 tour manager for this trip was an absolute gem, going above and beyond to treat our group like royalty with her impeccable organization, infectious enthusiasm, and thoughtful surprises that elevated every moment. Thanks to her, this became one of our most memorable adventures with Gate1-we savored every second and can't wait to book another!

We just wanted to say more about our tour manager Virginia. She was very organized. She prepared us VERY WELL for every day of the trip. She went out of her way, for example, taking people shopping that didn't have the right gear for our excursions. She was very easy-going and never showed any frustration, she always had a smile. She was very helpful getting us an Uber for going back to the airport at the end of our trip. She called the driver to give him directions on how to approach the hotel as the street was closed. She did this for others as well who were leaving by Uber. I just can't say enough about her, she deserves a raise!
Deborah F.
This was one of the best gate one discovery tours I have been on. Our guide Chris was exceptional.
Monica R.
I want to say that our guide on our Patagonia trip was the best ever. AL was efficient, communicated excellent, cared about us, and made our experience one of our best trips ever, and we've been traveling for over 30 years. You have an excellent employee!

We just returned from our trip to Patagonia. It was awesome, amazing, fantastic, wonderful and awe inspiring. Our Tour Manager, Jorge, was wonderful. We were his friends from the moment we met him and now he is family. The hotels, food, excursions, bus drivers and local guides were excellent. Gate 1 always provides those little extras that one never expects; like a waterproof backpack, water bottle and gator that were provided by our local guide in Argentina the day we crossed into Chile. She also taught us how to prepare Mate, the local tea of the region, and then she made a cup for us for each couple. This was while we were on the bus traveling to the border. Jorge gave each of us a key chain with a little model of the World Cup of futbol and a package of Chimichurri spices. The cruise line Stella Australis, gave us water bottles and dry packs. On the last day of the cruise, Jorge gave each couple a Mate cup made from a gourd with our names carved on the side and a Patagonian animal drawing on the other side. What a special gift. In Torres del Paine we had a chance to learn how to make a Pisco sour with an expert bartender. Again, one of those unique experiences that Gate 1 provides

I am a frequent traveler with companies such as Viking, Cunard, CIE etc, this was my first trip with Gate 1 I am sure you are aware Travel companies such as yourselves have only one chance to make a good first impression. I must say "YOU BLEW IT OUT OF WATER", We were greeted at Buenos Aries airport and taken to our Hotel where we met with "Sol", our Tour manager. I cannot speak highly enough of "SOL" a true professional with only one task, to ensure that our voyage was exemplary. Her bubbly personality and dedication was beyond any expectation. Nothing was to much trouble for this young lady. Each excursion was fantastic, the hotels were great, Buses were very comfortable, local guides and drivers very friendly and knowledgeable. What a fantastic time on board the Venus Australis. Nothing was to much trouble for this company. Onboard meals were very good , cabins roomy and as equally appointed as other major cruise lines. Activities and shore excursions were conducted professionally and safely, via Zodiak boats, With crew members always ready to help. and a captain determined not to disappoint guests with cancelled excursions The venues and parks we visited were terrific and setting foot on Cape Horn was to me the highlight. Gate one you have me converted. I am looking forward to my next adventure with you. Rest Assured I will recommend your company to anyone who wants to travel. Many thanks for a truly memorable voyage.

Maria Sol was our tour guide. She was outstanding! She wanted us to experience Argentina and Patagonia as fully as one can in a 14 day period. We appreciated her knowledge and additional suggestions for exploration at each location (Calafate ice cream at Rapanui for example). She was concerned for our well being and emphasized and repeated the plans for the day and the upcoming day so we would not forget what we were scheduled to do. Her command of English is excellent, though we had our laughs about a few phrases like "chicken" for "check in". She has a wonderful sense of humor! Our transfers through airports and border crossings were seamless from our traveler's point of view. We also lucked out as far as seeing a big calving at the Moreno Glacier, puma at Torres del Paine, jumping dolphins at sea, magellanic penguins and cormorants at Tucker Island and being able to disembark at Cape Horn when the weather threatened to nix that experience. Thanks to Sol, we had a fantastic experience and hope that you continue to employ her as a guide for future trips! Thank you Sol!

Just returned from our trip to Patagonia. It was a terrific trip from start to finish (minus the rain!). The highlight was the cruise on the Stella Australis with the most friendly, capable and dedicated staff. However I am mainly writing this to sing the praises of our tour director (and fearless leader!) Soledad. I cannot say enough positive things about her: highly organized. Excellent communication skills. Informative, smart and well-educated. Caring. Generous with her time. Going above and beyond at every turn. Interacting with us and getting to know us personally. Constantly trouble shooting and able to shift gears and problem solve when necessary. Throughout the trip we felt so CARED FOR. We have only been on two Gate One trips, but our fellow travelers have been on many and they also thought she was one of a kind. Please treat her well! Don't lose her! And yes, hotels were great, food was good, the all-inclusive aspect of the hotel in Chile was a great surprise (great drinks!) and most of the local tour guides were really super. We learned a lot, we hiked a lot, we all had great camaraderie, and we got soaked. Who cared? We came home very happy indeed!!
Audrey B.
Eliana on the Patagonia trip was the best tour guide I have had. She was extremely engaging, funny, knowledgeable, positive, and made us all feel like friends. I cannot give her enough praise. She MADE the trip! I would also give a shout out to Pablo at Perito Morena for his enthusiasm and our guide at Pueto Natales for his excitement of the geography and history of the area. Everyone was excellent but those three stood out for me.
Patricia S.
Our Patagonia trip was exceptional, our Tour Manager Sole did an amazing job the whole trip. The Weather was a 10 of 10 with very little rain and light winds. Every day was a highlight and a great memory forever. Sole earned her keep taking care of the group and was always there when she was needed. I would recommend this trip to everyone who can get into the zodiacs and hike through the beautiful mountains following a great guide. You will see glaciers like no other place in the world and walk on the most southern point of the continent. All in all Gate1 delivered one of the best Holiday trips we have taken.
Jack K.
Our recent tour of Patagonia was wonderful, due in large part to the personalities and expertise of the guides, and especially tour manager, Alex. The sites visited were a dream come true!. Alex went out of his way to ensure that we were very well informed about the difficulty of the hikes and what we might experience. He was very good at measuring our fitness levels and making appropriate recommendations without fail. His job is certainly not easy, yet he always remained fresh, cheerful, humorous at all times. His charm is infectious, and he did a great job of making the entire group feel like one big family (not easy). He is an outstanding photographer and made sure we enjoyed similar success in our own photos. He is a real gem! The guides were all outstanding in their depth of knowledge about the places visited. Steve and Angeles should have multiple PhD diplomas, their ability to answer arcane questions beyond compare. As I write this review, I am carrying on an email conversation with a friend, recommending Gate 1 highly. Thank you!
James W.
I would like to especially commend our tour manager, Alex. Alex certainly maintained our history of terrific Gate1 tour managers/guides (this is our sixth Gate1 tour) while also making his unique, inimitable mark! His deep and vast experience showed forth every day as he adjusted schedule or area so that we had optimal sightseeing views and/or activities/experiences. His information--both practical and historical/cultural--was valuable, his communication clear, his organization strong, his care thoughtful, and his humor delightful. Also, Alex is very savvy about people as evidenced by his group interactions. Preeminently, his passion and enthusiasm were inspiring and uplifting, spurring us to enjoy even more the wonders of mystical and wild Patagonia! I rate him the highest possible scores and recommend him wholeheartedly and gratefully!

This Gate 1 Discovery tour of Patagonia was fantastic and one of our favorite tours over the years of having used several different tour companies before. The choice of activities, the pace at which they were done, that is, still allowing some downtime or free time, our group leader(Eliana), the lodging facilities and their food quality, and the quality of the cruise line, its staff and meal and beverage offerings were phenomenal. The tour was certainly priced well for all we did and experienced. The Gate 1 Travel staff also were very helpful in their information and communications as we set up our trip. The only downside to this trip was the difficulty in getting reasonable air travel schedules. We had exceptionally long layovers at two different airports and feel that perhaps there could be better offerings through different airlines that the travel package works with. The Discovery small group type of tour offered by Group 1 Tours, using the small group (16-22) numbers, was perfect and should not be changed. We have been in groups with as high as two busloads or 45 participants and it is unwieldy and does not lead to group camaraderie, closeness, or effective communication, and the logistics of on foot touring can be a nightmare as we have seen in the past. Finally, we can't sing enough our praises for our group leader, Eliana. Her dedication to us, her persistence in doing her job and getting things right, her unique personality with a smile and style, her relationship with all her other guides and coworkers, and especially with all of us tour members were above anything else we have experienced before! We hope we can be fortunate enough to take another Gate 1 Discovery Tour with her in the future. This trip has sold us on taking more tours with Gate 1 Travel Tours in the future

Our trip to Patagonia was fantastic! We were in awe of such beautiful landscape ! The scenery at El Calafate (Lago Argentina with birds, Perito Moreno Glacier) were stunning. It was also a nice little town to explore. The hotel in Torres Del Paine National Park was all inclusive - how wonderful it was to be able to eat and drink anything you want at any time! Other friends showed us their wonderful photos from hiking the W trail. We didn't do such a hike, but still greatly enjoyed the fresh air, wonderful scenery, and superb food and drinks. And then on to the Stella Australis cruise. We got up early for the next morning excursion on time. The cruise ship was comfortable, the food superb, room sizes and bathrooms were good, and the excursions were great. The crew made sure we know how to put on our life jackets and get on and off the Zodiacs. Our tour guide, Alejandro, was great! I think he is one of hardest working tour guides we have ever had. I liked that he showed us maps of our route, explaining our journey. He also provided local maps for our free time and was very helpful with suggestions. He kept us informed all through our long bus rides, gave us local treats, and was always preparing us for what to expect next. He checked the buses, restaurants for anything we might have left behind. He walked us to the airport gates and made sure we had our boarding passes, etc. He was always busy helping to take care of all of us. This trip let us see, do and experience many new things. It was a wonderful trip !
Susan L. Orange, CT
It was absolutely perfect! I was so impressed with our guide and all the accommodations and amazing itinerary. I would not hesitate to recommend this trip and the wonderful job Gate 1 did with organizing every aspect so well.
Carol S. Holmdel, NJ
