This tour is not recommended for people who have difficulty walking. We suggest you check with your healthcare provider before signing up for this tour.

I just want to add that our tour manager Faruk was amazing - so knowledgeable, helpful, friendly and passionate about doing a great job! Our driver Hassan was also excellent - very skilled (I always felt safe) and friendly. They were both willing to go above and beyond at any time. I feel fortunate that they were part of our tour!

I just want to say that our guide, Ahmet, was exceptional. He had excellent historical and current commentary on the places we visited, and a genuinely friendly and helpful attitude. If I knew which tours he would be leading, I would consider them above others. All Gate 1's guides were good, but Ahmet stood out. I really enjoyed this trip!

The excellent marks that I gave our tour manager, Serdar, were very well deserved. He is a top notch tour manager in every respect. There are many reasons I will travel with Gate 1 again, but top among them is providing a great tour manager like Serdar. That is what truly makes a fantastic tour.

The Turkish Odyssey tour was magical; I have tried to spread the word on social media and with my friends and family how wonderful it was. Turkey is a beautiful, diverse, country full of history and unique sites, and I felt very safe there when I was walking around by myself. Aykat is one of the best tour guides I have ever had. He was very knowledgeable, friendly, and funny and he was an important reason for my appreciation of the tour. His enthusiasm was contagious. Even though he had no doubt seen the places we went to repeatedly, he made it seem as fresh as if it was the first time. He promoted other Gate1 tours of Turkey, and I am very tempted to sign up for another, especially if I am lucky enough to land on one of his tours again. I also want to say a few words about Sezgin, our driver. He was clearly very skilled as he handled the occasional heavy traffic and obstacles in narrow roads. I was very impressed with the way he loaned out umbrellas to anyone who had forgotten theirs on one rainy day.

The Eastern Turkey trip was fantastic. I have recommended it to several people I've met on other trips. Excellent food! The itinerary was very well thought out and interesting. Our guide "Oz" was knowledgeable and organized.

The trip was amazing. Our tour guide, Yucel, was very organized and had so much information to share. I learned so much about the history and culture of Turkey. Our group of 16 became like a family. I loved the balloon ride, the welcome wine event in Cappadocia and my all-time favorite was the boat ride and swim in the Aegean. I would give our tour guide and the itinerary the highest rating possible.

My husband and I had our first travel experience with Gate 1 Travel, and we are so happy about it! Everything was great! It was fantastic to feel the professionalism of this travel agency. Bravo! Sayat, the tour manager, was outstanding. So knowledgeable and so considerate for the entire group, giving each one the feeling that it was of utmost importance that he be comfortable and happy. The highlight of the trip was being able to visit a family living in a cave house in Capaddocia: a wonderful experience that I would never be able to do on my own. Thank you, Gate 1 Travel, for including such a visit in this odyssey. I believe I learned more on this trip than I would in two semesters of history classes. Turkey is now a valuable discovered treasure that I will cherish after this splendid trip.

Excellent! Berna, our 24/7 Turkey manager and local guide exceeded our expectations. She is extremely knowledgeable, organized, respectful and fun. She made us feel at ease and safe with the country, communities we visited, the new culture and people. She offered caring suggestions for all levels of activities and was encouraging for people who felt unsure of certain terrain and activities.

I just want to say after going on my 20th Gate 1 and 4 more planned, I am never disappointed. I must say that Kadriye on our Eastern Turkey Explorer tour was absolutely phenomenal, and I am hoping to take a western Turkey tour that she will host in the next few years.

This trip to Turkey was amazing. I think it is probably one of the best trips I've taken. Such a wonderful destination of learning experience beyond belief. Our guide Metin Went above and beyond to make all of us comfortable. I loved his sense of humor, a trait common to all the Turkish people I met!

As a traveler who has been to close to 100 countries and 4 prior trips to Türkiye it is no small thing for me to say that this was one of the best trips I ever took! It is not a trip for the faint hearted but for the seasoned traveler looking for a bit of adventure, first class archeology, a diversity of cultures and experiences , this trip is a must! Our tour guide had decades of experience and was familiar with people from all the areas we visited. We met Syriac clergy, Kurdish cave dwellers, Caucasian knife throwing dancers! We explored cuisines from baklava baking, to lunch seated in the ground in a Kurdish household, to a wild night of tribal food and dancing. And we were the only non Turkish tour for most of our trip. I understand that this was the first post earthquake tour; I had signed up for the tour two years ago but had to postpone it due to the earthquake. There were some changes to the original itinerary but, if anything, it was even more robust than originally planned. Thank you. And keep up the work of providing these travel choices.

There is not a superlative that adequately describes the 14-day Eastern Turkey Explorer tour I recently returned from. Our tour manager Aykut was simply amazing. His knowledge, personality and enthusiasm were outstanding. I can't stop telling my family and friends about this awesome trip. I have 2 more tours booked with Gate1 and can't wait for the next fabulous adventure.

Wow!! Amazing and fantastic. I enjoyed this trip so much, went to so many places that I didn't know about. Our guide Aykut was awesome, and I really appreciated the depth and breadth of his knowledge. Thank you for making sure that vegetarian food was available. I would highly recommend this trip to anyone interested in Southern and Eastern Turkey. In fact, I plan on recommending this trip to anyone interested in in the history and archeology of Turkey. My husband and I are planning on taking a Gate 1 Discovery trip to Western Turkey within a year or two. I would be interested in a trip to the Black Sea region of Turkey.

He is an asset to Gate-1 and I commend his dedication working for Gate-1 as a guide. Best wishes to Shenol. Great job!
